It started with the flu in VACCINATION and became a full blown zombie apocalypse in EVACUATION. Find out how the nightmare concludes in PRESERVATION. Former 911 Dispatcher, Chase McKinney, learned that those inoculated with flu shots became zombies; that the US government and military were largely infected, rendering them useless in the crisis; and that he and his family are forced to continue along on a dangerous journey. Crossing into Mexico might provide the only sanctuary from the millions of zombies plaguing America. The question is, could they make it safely from New York to the border ...

The much anticipated third and final book in the 'Vaccination' trilogy by Phillip Tomasso has been released. 'Preservation' wastes no time getting to the devastation and the action doesn't let up until the last page. Chase, along with the few remaining members of his family and friends arrive at a small airport in hopes of finding a working plane. Their plan remains the same; get to Mexico. Before the end of even the first chapter, the group suffers multiple catastrophic losses.

Chase is having nightmares; flashbacks of better times with his children that morph into sinister visions. Charlene, Chase's daughter, still blames herself for the loss of her little brother Cash. To say morale is low would be a gross understatement. If Chase thinks he's hit rock bottom, he's sadly mistaken. Not only have the undead gotten smarter, making them harder to evade, but other survivors have chosen to pillage instead of banding together to fight for survival of the human race. The carnage is unrelenting, as one by one the group's numbers dwindle. Who, if anyone, will live? Who will die? And who will be the last man, woman or child standing?

'Preservation' is Tomasso's Pièce de résistance. The development of Charlene's character is exquisite, almost to the point overshadowing the main protagonist. When introduced in Vaccination she was a mere child with abandonment issues, frightened and needing to be led. She has progressed to being a dominant member of the group, contributing well conceived ideas and emotionally carrying the adults in their times of mental breakdown.

With the amount of loss in the last installment of the 'Vaccination' series, it's difficult to reconcile the title 'Preservation' with it's content. It's a bloodbath, and no one is exempt. They say to go out on top, and that is exactly what Phillip Tomasso has done. 'Preservation' will tear readers apart emotionally and leave them gasping for air between sobs.

Excellent, while sad, conclusion to a phenomenal trilogy.

Preservation is a wonderful wrap up to this trilogy. I won't go into any details to avoid spoilers while writing this review. the reason I gave a 4 star review instead of five was I felt some characters were removed from the book to early and it seemed this was done so the author could facilitate the ending of the story to fit into a trilogy. I feel this could either have been a longer book or even had more books in the series. However, the main characters that did make it past the beginning of the book were very well developed and it was very easy to root for and care about them.
This book is very fast fast paced and scary, a little to fast is some spots, I would like to have had more information about why things happened. The author touches on the subject of the zombies learning and planning attacks but doesn't go into much detail or explore this as much as I had hoped.
I hope the author revisits this particular zombie land because it truly is a tremendous story, very sad. But if a book can make you as strong of feelings for the characters as this one did to me, then you know the author has skillz! This book has me gasping out loud when they were in trouble and crying when someone died, that is a true testament to the quality of a story. I will recommend this trilogy and the author's other works to anybody, even non-fans of the genre. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

It comes to a thrilling conclusion. I enjoyed the Vaccination series from beginning to end. Mr. Tomasso has really honed his storytelling skills and the progression shows in every book. He managed to develop a strong story in the middle of all that action packed chaos that focuses on a father's love for his children. That story line holds true throughout and it’s what really made the series for me. There's plenty of bloodcurdling intensity to match the quality and care give to character development. A great end to a great series.

In Preservation, the last installment to the Vaccination Trilogy, Phillip Tomasso delivers an unexpected ending. Along with the storyline feeling slightly rushed at the end, it ended in a question. This was supposed to be a trilogy, yet Phillip leaves the readers wondering what comes next. Will he answer that in a second trilogy or will he leave his fans hanging? Only time will tell. Nevertheless, for a fun read in the Zombie genre, Vaccination is a great trilogy to start with.

Ah, I really liked this series. It kept me wanting more, and what a fitting ending. In fact, I have even downloaded the next series by Mr. Tomasso, featuring Char. This series is a bit different than other Zombie books I have read in that there are different groups of Zombies, the fast ones, and the slow ones. And these zombies, are just a bit more chilling in that they are learning. They can come up with attack strategies and hunt in packs.

The only complaint that I have had throughout the entire series, is that the book is very badly edited. Missing words, punctuation, and a few other things. Other than that, a very good series.

Read the trilogy back-to-back. If you like zombie books, this is a decent series - a nice slant to the behaviors, interesting and likable characters, believable (in a zombie apocalypse-like way) scenarios.

I actually loved these books but I have to give this three stars because there were just too many inconsistencies to ignore. Disappointing.

Among the three books in the series, I liked this the most. I got carried away by the story many times. I did not expect the ending ... but I liked it. I am going to read the next book now. :)

Sorry it's over....

This is one of the best series I've read. Lots of action lots of zombies. They are just so overwhelming.
The author did an extremely good job with his characters. I especially like the way his main character Chase, goes back & remembers events from his life. When his children were born, important events in their lives & memories precious to him.
They never seem to catch a break in this book. Constantly running, herds & herds of the dead & losing good people. Seems there is no place safe.
Their intent is to make it to Mexico. Why? Read these books, you will enjoy them...😢

I am not big on Zombie Novels, having said that you should know this book is more than just a zombie tale. It takes the reader into the lives of people. The characters have the reader cheering for the good guys, mostly Chase who has already lost so much and only ends up with his daughter Charlene to help him through. Phillip also has readers wanting to jump in and help fight the bad guys and not just zombies either. You never know how people will act when a tragedy hits. I love the author's writing style which makes this book a fast paced interesting read with a great ending.

Very disappointed with the ending of the series and this book because of how the story ends. The build up over the three books and then the conclusion just... Ugh! Wish I had never got into the series.
