Dixie met Mary in a bar in the middle of nowhere. He knew the moment she served him “whatever the hell she wanted to” that she was the one.
That day, he takes her from her abusive life and gives her everything she’s ever wanted.
For thirty-one years, they’re married. For thirty-one years, he worships the ground she walks on. For thirty-one years, she makes him the happiest man on the planet.
They have babies. They lose babies. They laugh and they love. They’ve fought and they’ve struggled.
But nothing prepares him for the day she leaves him. The day that his life ends, and he goes on existing, waiting for the day that he can join her again.
Join Dixie as he remembers the love of his life in this heartbreaking story that speaks of love and loss and finally, a happily ever after.
Jeremiah+Merriam
Jeremiah Dixon has a way with words.
In the professional hockey world, he’s known as Mr. Suave. The man who always says the right thing and can charm the pants off of anyone.
Of course, when a damsel in distress falls into his arms after practice, he can’t stop himself from pursuing her. Who wouldn’t instantly fall in love with a woman who looked like Merriam Kennedy did?
She was beautiful, fierce, and everything he’s ever wanted in a woman.
They fall in love with each other over wings and beer. But before he can get her number, she leaves and takes his heart with her.
As luck would have it, he runs into her a few days later. She’s still as beautiful as ever, with a sizable bruise on her face and defeat haunting her eyes.
He tries to break through her walls, but she’s adamant that she can make it on her own.
Until, that is, her abusive father threatens her baby girl. Then she has no other choice but to run into a blizzard on Christmas Eve to escape him. And she knows just where to go.
To him. Jeremiah Dixon—the man that her heart and soul know is the one meant to fix all the broken things inside of her.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
Oh my God I knew I was going to cry but damn did the book do me in. 😭 Dixie has been a staple in so many stories I have loved and to finally read his love story with Mary was just so damn fabulous and devastating at the same time. The love between them both was well and truly a forever love and it was a beautiful thing to read.
Lani has just got us all in the feels and phew you're gonna need a box of tissues and an ice pack for your swollen eyes.
Jeremiah and Merrimam. What can I say I adored them both and it was bittersweet to be reminded of Dixie and Mary while living a new life theough the new couple.❤️
This was a beautiful way to finish off Dixies book and still keep us connected to the wardens.
I’ve struggled to come up with words for what I read in this book. It’s so heartbreakingly beautiful! The love the Dixie and Mary is the love you can only dream of or are lucky to have. Soul mates, finding each other even in another life, just beautiful!!!
This was done SO WELL! I love getting to see a snippet of Dixie & Mary & the family they built. Even knowing about the tears, knowing it's a sad story, it's also full of so much love & joy. And the end... perfectly done.
💔🩷💔🩷💔
And then we get part 2, Jeremiah & Merriam! This is so lovely! They have an instant spark, but circumstances keep them apart ... for like a day. 😄
It's a quick, Christmas, insta-love & it goes beautifully with part 1. You might need tissues, but they'll be happy tears. Merriam is a great mom & the way Jeremiah is with Anleigh is so stinking cute! They bond right away, too. I love them!!
An emotional, poignant and riveting ride to go on with Dixie and Mary. I also felt like this story was very thought provoking for me, making me think about what my dad is going through after losing my mom. I liked how we were taken through multiple POVs on the grieving process, reminiscing on past experiences and holding beautiful memories close. I enjoyed this story immensely. Lani Lynn Vale never ceases to amaze me.
This one...holy cow. I was out running errands today, had about a 45 minute wait time, started to read it. This was a mistake! This book needs to be read when you are in the privacy of your home. I quickly had tears coming to my eyes from the first half, to the point where they were rolling down my face and people were looking at me. This first one will gut you! It's the back and forth, the happy times and the left behind times, it's the we are almost together again times, all of them will gut you! Yet, with that last little bit you are happy for Dixie and what was waiting for him.
And as much as that first story was sad, the second story will have you smiling, even at the start where things are iffy for Merriam. I loved how this couple met, the instant connection, the way that both of them jumped when given the chance and how the family embraced Merriam.
What I did wonder about were the dreams...were they connected to the first story. It seemed so, just now sure of the connection. I'm going with they were, because it gave you a good feeling about both couples, maybe one who lived it and another who could aspire to that love and happiness.

Ok this is going to be a long haul in to parts that may have a few emotional breakdowns along the way. Hang tight.
Mary and Dixie.. This is a story that has been asked for for years. One that I knew going in was going to break me so completely despite is being about a love so unconditional you wonder if that kind of all consuming love is real.
There was never going to be another woman for Dixie. Dixie found his one true love. The one that no one could possibly live up to. He didn't even consider it. Mary was his entire universe and getting to have her even for a short time meant more to him than anything in the world. So much so that a life without her seemed impossible. A real cruel fate that shouldn't of been but he couldn't give up either. He had to live for her.. I mean sure she threatened him beyond belief but still he did it for her even though it hurt him with every minute he didn't have her. He lost half his soul when he lost his Mary. Truly I felt it through the pages. That all consuming love and bittersweet pain of a great love gone.
I felt a sense of peace getting some of their story. Like the starts aligned and everything was as it should be. The sweet moments of vulnerability, the bittersweet reality. The crushing pain. The peace.
This story broke me. Complete and absolutely broke me into a thousand little pieces. The best kind of love Isn't easy. The pain felt from a loss that deep truly is a testimony of just how much they loved one another. The heartbreak I felt when it was his time was met with a sense of relief that he finally found his soul again. That they would be whole.
This wasn't and easy read. But being a reader of Lani's since the very beginning, this story meant a lot to me. It likely wont be one I'll re-read because my heart can only take so fucking much. But It will be a book I will never forget. The legend that is Dixie and finally knowing Mary was truly special. Another thing that was equally special was Silas. Man that friendship. What he did for Dixie.. I cannot. I'll cry again. Fucking beautiful.
Jeremiah and Merriam ..
Just when I thought I couldn't cry anymore Lani throws in a curveball that whipped the air right out of my lungs. WTF.
Jeremiah is sweet and protective and all kinds of generous. He has a great career, a wonderful family and good friends that are there for him. He's patient, He cares and he wasn't afraid to be vulnerable and open which was everything. A proper cinnamon roll of a man that I could have easily eaten whole.
Merriam is a single mom who's doing the best she can with the shitty hands she's been delt. She's kind and genuinely good to the core. She doesn't have much but she appreciates what she does have and doesn't complain. My heart went out to this sweet momma who needed a break.
I love how they met. I cackled laughing so hard because honestly that was just her luck. Turns out even when you think your shit out of luck, prince charming could be there ready to catch you before you break your face. They had an unexplainable connection that was felt. They just fit. They had the same likes, same morals, same humour.. like two pieces of a puzzle they clicked together perfectly despite the crazy going on in the background.
Jeremiah with a child? SWOON. him and Annie had my heart swooning at the sweetness. Jer in dad mode!!!
I loved them and their journey. It wasn't normal but nothing about their connection was. That didn't change the fact they just worked. The chemistry was great. The laughter, The crazy.. The side characters. Everything about them just made me happy. A sweet story of love defying all the odds and frankly I needed the fairy tail after the heartbreak of the first book.
What a way to end the year with Lani. Perfect. Even if it did break me.
Genre & Tropes : more or less Christmas Romance x two novellas x biker romance x single mom x sport romance x spicy scenes
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Please note : this book is clearly for LLV fans, if you have never read her books (especially the series related to the Dixie Wardens MC), you will be able to appreciate the two novellas but it will have less impact and some things will be difficult to understand !
One of the books I was waiting for the most impatiently and which broke my heart !
I have been waiting for this book for years ! We have always more or less known the story of Dixie but seeing the story through his eyes, through anecdotes about his life with Mary but also through the eyes of Hoax and Bayou and reading his last moments on Earth ... Yes I cried like a baby very very quickly ><
The story with Jeremiah and Merriam was also very hard (OMG Merriam's life !!) but also magnificent and with more hope at the end =)
One flaw perhaps : I was a little lost with all the names of the children and grandchildren and I admit I didn't necessarily recognize them all ...
In short, a double romance that makes you cry but a must read! A must for fans of Lani Lynn Vale !
Two or three pages in, I was ready to declare my hatred for Lani Lynn Vale. I even messaged her on Instagram to tell her! I was *so* angry, but deep down, I knew Dixie’s story was going to be heartbreaking. Fans of the Dixie Wardens MC series know he lost his wife years ago, and this book dives into their story.
I just wasn’t prepared for the emotional gut-punch. Dixie is one of those side characters who lights up the page—larger than life, with a Santa-like charm that makes you wish you had someone like him in your own life. His love story with Mary is everything: joyful, poignant, and deeply moving. The way they met? Pure Dixie. All it took was a look, and the hopeless romantic in me was in tears. By the end, I was sobbing—not just because of the sadness, but also because of the beauty of their love. A love like Dixie and Mary’s doesn’t come around often, and when it does, it’s unforgettable.
After a solid ten minutes of ugly crying, I dove into Jeremiah and Merriam’s story—and it was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits. Lani Lynn Vale, I see what you did there, and it was genius! Jeremiah, a hockey star with a painful family past, meets Merriam, a single mom trying to escape her abusive father. Her little girl, Anleigh, is adorable, and Jeremiah’s instant connection with them both melted my heart. He knew from the start that they belonged in his life, and his love and determination to protect them were so touching.
I loved Jeremiah’s big, nosy family and his loyal hockey friends—because, let’s face it, siblings and boundaries don’t mix. I also enjoyed the fresh Oklahoma setting, a departure from LLV’s usual stomping grounds in Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, or Florida.
By the end of the book, I’d completely forgiven LLV. Jeremiah, Merriam, and Anleigh brought so much hope and joy. Part one of the book hits you with heartache and grief, while part two lifts you up with love, resilience, and the reminder that love never truly ends. This is the perfect book to reflect on those we miss during the holidays and the new connections we’ve yet to make. It’s a beautiful way to close out the year.
________ Thank you Lani Lynn Vale and Give Me Books Promotions for providing me with an eARC of the book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Man oh man! I just KNEW this book was going to break me and boy did it ever. If you’re a fan of LLV, then most likely you, along with everyone else, have always wanted Dixie’s story. If you’ve been with her since the original Heroes of Dixie Warden, then you know Dixie lost his wife many, many years ago to cancer.
The first part of this book is Dixie and Mary’s tremendous love story. Dixie strolled into a bar in the middle of nowhere and the tiny little waitress hit him with her sass and he fell in love right then and there. Through both the good times and the bad, their love never faltered. Promising her that he would live on without her was the hardest thing Dixie ever had to do. He would have preferred to go right along with her since losing her would be losing half of his heart and soul. But, much to his chagrin, he carried on and lived a great life. Even down to the end, his brothers from the Dixie Wardens were there. And Silas…whew. I want to cry all over again just trying to type out this review. The friendship and brotherhood Dixie and Silas shared are indescribable.
Jeremiah and Merriam
After ripping my heart out and making me ugly cry, she gives the Christmas insta-love story of Jeremiah and Merriam. They have the best meet cute ever! Merriam is a single mom to a precious little angel named Anleigh and to say she is stuck between a rock and a hard place is the understatement of the century.
Jeremiah Dixon is a professional hockey player and has one of the biggest hearts ever. I loved the instant pull he had with Anleigh before he even knew her, but when they finally meet it will melt your heart. I’m not usually one for insta-love stories, but this was just what I needed to round out the heavy from the first part of the book, and I LOVED IT!! I adored all the side characters in this one with the exception of Merriam’s father. He can kick rocks! But I am really hoping we may get a hockey series out of LLV in the future. Fingers crossed!
I recently finished reading Ask Your Mom If I'm Real by Lani Lynn Vale, and I have to say, it was quite the enjoyable experience! This novel weaves together romance, humor, and emotional depth in a way that kept me engaged from start to finish.
The story revolves around Dixie and Mary, who meet in a bar and instantly connect. I found myself drawn to their chemistry right away. Dixie is this rugged yet sensitive guy who seems to know Mary is his soulmate from the moment they meet. Vale does an excellent job of developing their relationship, balancing light-hearted banter with deeper emotional moments that really struck a chord with me.
One aspect I particularly loved was the dual narrative structure. Alongside the main romance, there’s a secondary storyline that adds layers to the plot. This not only enriched the overall reading experience but also kept me on my toes with unexpected twists and turns.
Vale's humor shines throughout the book, too. The witty dialogue and amusing chapter headings had me chuckling more than once. I appreciated how she managed to incorporate comedic elements without overshadowing the more serious themes, creating a well-rounded narrative that resonated with me on multiple levels.
That said, I did find some plot points a bit predictable, which is something I’ve encountered in other contemporary romances. However, Vale’s unique voice and ability to evoke genuine emotion kept me invested in the story.
Overall, I’d give Ask Your Mom If I'm Real a solid four stars. It’s a delightful read filled with engaging characters and heartfelt moments that any fan of contemporary romance would enjoy. I’m definitely looking forward to diving into more of Lani Lynn Vale’s work!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Mary and Dixie. Dixie is a man who found his one true love. This man loved Mary with is whole entire being. A once in a lifetime love and he was thankful for every single moment that the two of them shared. Dixie is a man that every woman would be thankful to have in their life and there is just no way that you can't fall for the man. This is his love story with Mary. I will warn you that your going to cry. Well cry might not be the right word for it. Sobbing is more like it. I haven't cried that hard reading a book in a long time. Their story is as beautiful as it is heart wrenching and so worth reading. Then you get to dive into Jeremiah and Merriam's story. Jeremiah is a hockey star who has a very painful past. Merriam is a single mom who is trying to escape her abusive father. I love the moment that we get to see between Jeremiah and Anleigh. Holy cow, talk about melting your heart. They are adorable together. When these two meet he knows from the moment he sees the both of them that they belong to him. In his heart and his life and he will make sure that these two have the wonderful life that they deserve but have not known. The best of both worlds in one book. You get your heart ripped out and then fall in love with a HEA in the second story. This is a book that you do not want to miss.
I was not 100% ready to read Dixie and Mary's story. I thought I was. Jokes on me, I wasn't. You're gonna need a box of tissues when you read their story. The love they have for each other, it wasn't a one lifetime love, it's the kind of love that makes you believe in soulmates and past lives. I was doing good reading their story until there was something that Mary said to Bayou. She said "Don't drive faster than your guardian angel." This is something that my grandmother used to tell us all the time and I actually had to take a break and spend 20 minutes crying. I wasn't sure how Jeremiah and Merriam fit into Dixie and Mary's story.....but three chapters in it clicked. Dixie and Mary didn't just have a once in a lifetime love, their love story spanned several lifetimes. Jeremiah is Dixie. Dixies is Jeremiah. Merriam is Mary. Mary is Merriam. Their life experiences, birthdates and death dates correlate. Their children's names. After all the pain and sadness of losing Dixie....reading Jeremiah and Merriam's love story made up for it. Seeing how Lani gave us the ending of one story, just to meld it into another, leaves your heart full and happy. There is a reason that I keep coming back and preordering all of her books, and it's because of how well written they are. She gives you everything you want in a book husband and happy endings. 100% recommend this book and all of her others as well.
This book is two books in one, the first book is the long awaited story of Dixie Normus of the Dixie Wardens MC. Make sure you have a box of tissues as this story left me so emotional. I absolutely love all the members and their families of this MC. This is a story of love, loss and living life Lani Lynn Vale more than outdid herself. I have to say I was sobbing by the end of this book and it totally gave me the biggest book hangover ever but I loved every word.
The second story was one about strength and forever loves. Merriam Kennedy and her beautiful little girl Anleigh are in a horrible situation and Merriam has been taken advantage of and abused most her life but she just wants to improve her daugthers life. Jeremiah Dixon is needing more in his life as much as he loves playing hockey, in walks Merriam and Anleigh. He feels like he knows her soul deep. Merriam just feels something for Jeremiah she can't explain. This book gave me so many feels and healed my heart after reading Dixie's story. Such a sweet story of love and freedom.
My heart was not ready for this book. Lani Lynn Vale will shatter your emotions with the beautiful love story of Dixie and Mary and then put you back together with Jeremiah and Merriam. These are two separate love stories tied together by the intense bond between the main characters.
Dixie's story is told reflectively, looking back over a lifetime of loving his soul mate. He is ready to be reunited with his lost love after a long and rewarding life with his MC brothers and family. Each memory is beautifully told and Dixie's importance to those around him is highlighted in every interaction. This is so beautifully heartbreaking. I sobbed fat ugly tears.
The second half of the book is Merriam's story. She is a downtrodden single mum with an abusive father. She needs a way out but is trapped by debt and reliance. And then she meets Jeremiah. He is the pro hockey player with a huge heart. These two are drawn together and feel a familiarity like reunited souls. These two are a perfect fit.
These are both delightfully Christmas centred romances. Both written with such sensitivity and care. Go with the emotion of it and trust that the second half will heal your heart.
I didn’t want to read this story, as I knew it was sad, but it was great reading this couple building their life. And it was amazing reading about it through Dixie’s eyes. He knew he found his soulmate in Mary, and it was heartbreaking when he lost her ☹ Dixie and Mary are one of my favorite couples and it was great experiencing their love and everything they went through in their relationship. ‘Good ending’ to an amazing story ❤ ❤ Makes me want to revisit the Dixie Warden Series 😊
Jerimiah and Merriam were another great read. It had my favorite genre, single mom who is doing everything to take care of her kid. She was sweet and caring and I think perfect for Jeremiah. Jeremiah is a professional hockey player and a heart of gold that will just give you all the good feelings, and he was so great with Merriam’s daughter.
This book had everything in it. First the author breaks your heart with Dixie and Mary and then she brings you all the goodness, melt your heart with Jeremiah and Merriam’s story. Loved everything that this author writes and this story did not disappoint at all 😊
Get your tissues out and have them ready. This book contains two stories, and they are both full of heart and deep love.
The first part is Dixie and Mary. They meet and fall right from the start. You can feel the love between these two. As the years go by you can still feel the love he has for Mary even after he loses her. In the end he gets her back. It’s sad but beautiful at the same time.
The second part is Jeremiah and Merriam. Merriam needs a protector as her father has made sure she can’t leave him and make it on her own. Jeremiah sees something in her right from the start and wants to get to know her, but she is struggling. You get a peek of these two and the love they share and how deep it runs. She needs a protector, and he is right there to help and step up.
From both of these stories you can feel not only the love but the fierce protector in the man in there lives. You get a wonderful story that pulls you in and keeps the pages turning. In the end if it is Dixie or Jeremiah, you know the lady in there lives either Mary or Merriam will be loved and protected no matter what.
Get the tissues ready for this read the entire first part of the book we were a fountain of waterworks coming out of our eyes and our hearts were breaking. Loved hearing about Dixie and Mary's story they were truly soulmates there was so much love between them and their entire family. They shared love loss and happiness. As much as this story tore our hearts out it made us smile and laugh and we could only wish we could be blessed to find the kind of happiness that Dixie and Mary had with one another. Sitting here writing this review we can't even get through it without crying all over again.
Part two starts with much sadness and heartbreak but, before long we started smiling and grinning a bit more as we saw where this story was going and could not be more happy. We are romantics at heart and we believe in soulmates and in our hearts of hearts with that kind of love and connection Mary and Dixie had we knew they would be reunited once again
We loved this one and although we cried like a baby it was well worth it. The characters were fantastic, especially Dix's family and Merriam's daughter was yet another little heartbreaker.
I have been reading your books almost from when you started!! I was several books behind when I first found you which was a good thing because I couldn't stop reading!! You are amazing and I wait as patiently as possible for your next release and get bummed during the months that you don't release anything!!! 😉
This book blew me away as always!! Thankfully I read it without anyone around this time because I cried through the entirety of the first book. It's not unusual when I read your books that I openly cry or laugh out loud throughout the story. My family has finally gotten used to it 😝 This book was MIND BLOWINGLY AWESOME and will probably take me all day to recover from!
I am so thankful that I somehow found your books!! When I need a "boost" I go back and reread entire series! I used to go back to the beginning and start over but there are just too many at this point!! 😘
Thank you for sharing your beautiful mind with us!! Also thank your family for sharing you!!! 💜
From the moment that Dixie met Mary he knew that she was special. They shared an enduring love, and they spent over three decades together raising their family until they received news that would devastate them both. In the years since Dixie’s love for her hasn’t wavered while he tries to make her proud by being there for his family all the while waiting for them to be reunited again. Your will not be able to read this story with dry eyes, but it is worth every tear you will cry.
Jeremiah is a professional hockey player who was enchanted by Merriam from their first meeting however he never thought he would see her again as he had no way to contact her. When fate keeps bringing her into his life all he wants to do is protect but he also knows that she has to be willing to leave the difficult life she was leaving behind.
This book contains two novellas that feature a man who will do anything for the woman he loves, a woman who shows how strong and resilient she is by the life she was leading and the families who are always there for them.
Theses two story's were so good, tear jerkers for sure! Beautiful written,Dixie and Mary's story was so beautiful, it hurt to read it and I almost stopped reading it,it made me cry so much,it didn't help that I'm suffering a lost at this time and I knew that I shouldn't read the story but I had to and I'm glad I did too.Mary and Dixie had such love for each other even in death.I can't express what I want to write or say because I'm crying again and I want to say a few words about Jermainh and Merriam 's story,Jermainh was a true giver, heart so big you could feel it when it came to him and Merriam and her little girl. He took her from her terrible home life,a very abusive father. She gave him so back too.His acts of kindness were heart felt not a necessary. These two story's were worth more then five stars,if I could give triple the stars but even that's not enough. Please read these two stories and keep a box of handles close by,either you be crying like me or laughing over the gag gift that Jer and Merriam end up using!
Lani Lynn Vale does is every single time! She writes captivating, thrilling and emotional stories that leave me craving more! I also can't stop thinking about her books. Many of them live rent free in my head. This 2 for 1 book is no exception.
You get an emotional, heartbreaking and heartwarming motorcycle club romance love story AND an emotional, sweet and spicy hockey, billionaire romance!
I DEVOURED this book in hours. I couldn’t put it down.
---
Dixie and Mary's story ripped my heart out, patched it up and left me feeling so many things. Seriously have some tissues on hand. I can't stop thinking about their beautiful, tragic and REAL story. You also get to see some past characters (Bayou & Pheobe, Hoax & Pru and more!) which I loved! I also loved the way Lani jumped back and forth in the past and present to share memories AND how she used different character POVs. Her skilled writing added so much to this story.
Jeremiah and Mirriam's story was captivating and sweet. He's a billionaire hockey player who has stayed away from women since they really only want his money. She's a single mom currently living with her father who is a POS...she has nothing and is doing her best for her current situation. When he practically saves her and they have a cute meeting...the rest is history! They are cute, sweet and have a little spiciness. I wanted MORE of them it was so good.
Also, Jeremiah and Mirriam's story has a fun connection to Dixie and Mary. Read to find out!
If I could give this one more than five stars I would!!! In this book you get two novella’s. You get Dixie and Mary’s story from the Dixie Wardens and you get a story with new characters Jeremiah and Merriam.
Let’s start with Dixie and Mary! Oh my word!!! LLV broke me. I can vividly only remember two books that I’ve read that have made me cry while reading. This is number three. Make sure you have the tissues ready! This was such a beautiful story. Most of the time with novellas I always want them longer. I think this one was perfect! Five stars just for this story alone!!
Now on to Jeremiah and Merriam! Luckily we get a lighter story….but still a LLV story! I loved this one! I will say that selfishly I wished that there story was longer! I got attached to them and wasn’t ready to say goodbye! This one will give you the feels and make you laugh as well. This would be another five star read in its own as well!!! Loved it!
The book features two short novellas. The first story shares the much-anticipated love story of our beloved characters, Dixie and Mary. The second introduces fresh and intriguing characters, Jeremiah and Merriam, promising to take us on unique adventures.
The author perfectly predicted the emotional response to Dixie and Mary's story – tears flowed freely! I absolutely adored their journey, filled with heartfelt moments that were both touching and incredibly sweet. Following their emotional arc was a delight; it was a great experience.
Jeremiah and Merriam's romance seamlessly blends with the charm of previous beloved couples. The plot is utterly adorable and captivating, leaving me eager to turn the page and reluctant to see the story end. Exactly after a few chapters, Jeremiah and Merriam's story livens the reading spirit. I quickly become engrossed in their tale, easily forgetting the heartache about Dixie and Mary. It's the ideal holiday romance, filled with warmth and delight.
Both stories are truly fantastic. I hope we meet these characters again soon, and I'm very intrigued by Gisela and Bryson's chemistry.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Jeremiah & Merriam and Dixie & Mary: triggers: cancer, domestic violence. WARNING ⚠️: tissues will be necessary for this one. Lani Lynn Vale has done it again… but this time she took the knife right to my heart. We've all waited to return to the Dixie Wardens MC because we had some unfinished business. Dixie, himself, needed his story. So with this book we get to take a look at his life in bits and pieces plus we get to meet two new characters, Jeremiah and Merriam in an all new story. I love both of these stories so much. It's beautifully written with everything we love from LLV. I spent most of the book in tears and the rest rest slowly watching it being melded back together with the second half. Amazing work. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💜💜💜. If I could give more than 5⭐ I would.
Vale has two heartfelt stories in store for her fans with this release! First we’ll get a look back at Dixie and Mary’s story from The Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC series and a current catch up with him and his fam as he prepares to be reunited with his one true love, then we get a hockey romance with Jeremiah and Merriam. I love Vale’s MC worlds and always want more, but this dip into hockey was really fun from her and I would love to see these characters again in a full fledged series from some of his teammates too. There is lots of sadness and emotion to wade through in both stories, but the characters are true blue and easy to like. I loved that old glimpse into the MC series again even if it was riddled with sadness. Loved it and highly recommend if you haven’t read The Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC series that you run and nab those books to catch up!
Ok just saying if you read this and you most definitely need to read this book then make sure you are cuddled up in a warm blanket with snacks, drinks and plenty of tissues
Lani finally gives us Dixie's story and word can not express how much I loved reading it.
We get to see when he meets his wife and how they started and how the MC helped them when they needed it, all Dixie ever wanted was to be with his woman again and my heart nearly burst reading this.
The second story is about Jeremiah and Merriam , he helps her and her daughter without even realizing it and the connection is so strong, going to help his family member and sees her again, he gives her his number and hopes she makes the call, during a blizzard she takes a chan e to get away from her father and that is just the beginning Of their story.

4.5 Stars Get the tissues ready for this one. This book had me ugly crying. It has a sad tone, but at the same time it's a beautiful story of Dixie reminiscing about his life with Mary. Their love is the epic love story that is once in a lifetime. I know what Hoax and Bayou felt because when my grandparents passed it crushed me. Another reason this book brought on the tears. Then Lani Lynn Vale put my heart back together with Jeremiah and Merriam's story. Though Merriam's circumstances in the beginning of this one broke my heart. Jeremiah changes Merriam and her little daughter's lives. Jeremiah is so swoon worthy the way he takes care of those two. I absolutely love Jeremiah's family. How they just welcomed Merriam and her daughter warmed my heart. I also loved the way things worked out and a nod to beautiful love story.
This is the story we have all been waiting for. Dixie and Mary were the patriots of their family. Love at first sight had nothing on them. They raised their family will all the love and passion they could, but when Mary was diagnosed with Cancer she knew it wasn't meant to be. Dixie would live on as we all read about, but his heart was always Mary's. This is the story of his last day and when he returns to the love of his life. You will cry there is no doubt so be prepared. However, what Lani also threw in was another story that will melt your heart. Jerimiah and Miriam's story is one you will not put down, but believe me it's one that you may actually know. Four hearts and one soul and these stories will leave you falling in love and leave you in shambles. This was truly one of the most beautiful endings I have ever read.
Dixie and Mary It was so nice getting Dixie's story! I have loved Santa in Lani's books so reading his story was brilliant but my heart broke for him. Lani made me shed tears reading his love story with Mary and it was filled with so much love and joy.
Jeremiah and Merriam I love a single parent romance and this one was a good one. I adored these two they were perfectly matched even if circumstances kept them apart. Even though i didnt think i could cry any more tears Lani proved me otherwise cos shes that mean lol!
What a perfect way to end the year! The Tears were worth it!
I was gifted this book by the Author and this is my honest opinion
