The Gods have come to San Francisco . . . Cassius Black and Morgan King's trip to Ivory Peaks to uncover clues about their past takes an unexpected turn when a rift materializes and war demons attack the capital. Having saved one world, they return to Earth, only to find it has been rocked by ominous quakes bearing a close resemblance to the phenomenon that nearly destroyed the Dryad kingdom. After defeating demons that emerge from a crevasse in San Francisco, Cassius and Morgan rescue the Wild God Pan with the help of Victor Sloan and the city's otherwordly. But instead of thanking them, Pan makes a startling demand: rescue his lover and prevent the Spirit Realm from being destroyed, and he will reveal the truth about who Cassius and Morgan are. Help comes from an unexpected source when a pair of Reapers visit the city and Cassius, Morgan, and Victor soon go hunting for a missing deity who may hold the key to saving all the realms. Can they free the immortals from their prisons and find the powerful artifact that can bend the mind and will of even a God? Or will the enemy who has long manipulated them from the shadows destroy everything they have come to care for? Contains mature themes.

AM Salinger probably had a hotline to my brain because she just wrote a book that pressed ALL my buttons.

Let's have a Q&A:

Q: All the buttons you say? And what, pray tell, are all those buttons?
A: Let's see.. Angels and demons falling in love, urban fantasy, action and suspense, secrets, a possessive jealous alpha male demon who only has eyes for his angel.... Need I say more? #Drool

Q: Well, no you don't have to say more. *runs to Amazon*
A: No wait! I have alot more things to say! #Don'tSensorMe

Q: Ok. Talk while I'm downloading.
A: First, you have to start from book 1: Fractured Souls. You CAN'T read them out of order. Then, hold on to your butt and hang on for the ride. #GetReady

Q: So, it's an overarching plot?
A: Yup! a very big baddie wants to destroy all the realms, including Earth, and our MCs are on the frontline of the cavalry. #ArmorsOn

Q: And the MCs are still lovable?
A: Oh yeah. Deep, layered characters. and as powerful as they both are, they both show a vulnerable side that just makes them all the more approachable and endearing. #Nuanced

Q: What about the romance-o-meter?
A: Gah... so swoony! These men are just everything to the other. They are so in love and that love makes them stronger. #NothingButYou

Q: Oh my heart! And the angst-o-meter?
A: No angst between the two MCs. Lowish angst from outside sources. #GoingStrong

Q: Steam-o-meter?
A: Medium angst, but what there is is SUPER HOT. #PantiesWentPoof

Q: What about the ending
A: It's a solid HFN for the MCs and the plot. I can't wait for the next one! #GimmeMore

EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO AND FREAK OUT A MOMENT.
I absolutely loved this third book in the "Fallen Messangers" series. After the short detour that was book two, with Eden and Cedric's own storyline taking the focus off Cassius and Morgan for a bit, we're finally back with our two favourite starcrossed angels and DO THEY DELIVER. "Edge Lines" has action (lots and lots of it), romance (steamy, sexy moments and sweeter, softer ones that will
simultaneously melt and break your heart), lots of group scenes, found family vibes, humour and friendship. And a truckload of shocking discoveries: "Edge Lines" is the turning point for Cassius and Morgan's quest to finally discovering who they are and what they're up against.

This series is a lot in terms of world-building and characters: it won't be everybody's cup of tea, but for a reader that hails from the good ol' high fantasy days, this series is a delight to follow. There's a lot of new characters that appear: other than our usual suspects, new gods and demigods, primordials and magic-users, dryads and angels and demons appear: Ava Marie Salinger certainly knows how to make characters lovable and endearing and quirky, and now I'm pretty much craving an entire spin-off on the majority of them.
So why not a full 5 star rating? WELL, first things first, I ended up missing a bit of one-on-one Cassius and Morgan time. I know I've stated time and time again I wanted to see Morgan act really jealous and possessive over Cassius, and my wish definitely came true, but well, I absolutely loathe love triangles or even hints at them. Victor, Cassius' old lover, doesn't qualify as the other love interest since Cassius and Morgan are firmly devoted to one another, but I still worried for a bit. Putting that aside, Victor is a fairly interesting character and I really hope he gets the development he deserves (but maybe outside Cassius and Morgan's story arc!), so I'm officially starting a #giveVictoranewloveinterest fan club.
I also kind of missed a bit of the team shenanigans we have in book one: there's so many new characters that Julia, Zach, Adrianne, Bailey and Charlie get lost in the mix, so I'm really hoping they get the space they deserve in the next one (OR IN A SPIN-OFF! OR MORE BOOKS *prayer circle*)

Cassius and Morgan really shone this time around: now that the spotlight's firmly on them, their quiter, softer and love-filled moments broke and remade me time and time again. Their love truly shone, loud and clear, and I can shamelessly admit that I nearly cried once or twice (if you've read the book, you know when!). Morgan, especially, I really adored him: he's tough and badass and possessive, but also quite vulnerable and scared inside. The degree of devotion he has for Cassius was lovely and so sweet and the way he protected him and made sure he wasn't hurt ever again? UGH, I swooned a dozen times. He and Cassius are truly perfect for one another.
Cassius was, as usual, too nice for his own good and an utter sweetheart.

I'm so looking forward to the fourth book. I'd sell a kidney to have it in my hands right now: the ending left me curious and thirsty for more action, more discoveries, more magic, but especially more Morgan and Cassius.

Thank you GRR for the ARC. I received in exchange for an honest review.

"Cassius's pupils flared. His gaze grew heavy-lidded as it dropped to Morgan's mouth. His tongue darted out to touch his lips. The air between them sparked, desire lighting their blood in a heartbeat."

Annnnnnd they're back! 🔥

Edge Lines by Ava Marie Salinger is book three in the delicious Fallen Messengers series, picking up where Spellbound left off, with our fallen angels/demi-gods/demons (it's not entirely clear where these boys will end up🤐) Cassius and Morgan fighting to save Ivory Peaks from a demon-spouting rift between the worlds.

Whilst book two went off on a side story arc (which I loved, incidentally), Edge Lines brings us firmly back to ground zero and the main story line - involving the destruction of all the worlds.

Cassius and Morgan are back to their steamy, snarky, best selves and having Cassius' ex, the super-hot demon Victor, in town just adds to the chemistry, all whilst we get ever closer to finding out what in Hell happened during the Fall.

Highly recommended if you like:

🌶️ MM fantasy romance
🌶️ paranormal action
🌶️ steam
🌶️ snark
🌶️ cute AF main characters
🌶️ brilliant story building
🌶️ HFN

"...when hell freezes over..."

An interesting exploration on the phrase.

I forget when I first read book one. I do know this...know your gods family tree. Cause you are going to need this first hand knowledge.

The book that cast me out into the Ether in search of more. My first slash fiction fantasy. Nope! I didn't know beforehand.

The plot is so good. I figured....wait...I'm going back to my review for the first book. You really need to know Celestials Patheons. One could get lost in all this drama!

How much do I adore Cassius and Morgan? SO MUCH!! Edge Lines brings us three books deep in the fallen Messengers series (absolutely has to be read in order) and, honestly, it just keeps getting better and better. The overarching plot has been ramping up to some major revelations about both MCs identities/heritage - and we get that in spades here. We get to see possessive Morgan come out to play, but the bond between him and Cassius is so strong that there's never a genuine threat...it's one of several outward expressions of vulnerability. Despite the angels being rock solid, they are characters with great depth and do have things about their pasts (known and unknown) that give them pause.

I love the world-building in this series. It's truly exciting urban fantasy with angels, demons, magic users, gods and monsters (and many more) across multiple worlds. We get to see other dimensions again in this book, which perfectly compliment the building tension as part of the plot development and the all out action scenes. Cassius and Morgan just get hotter together but it's not just all about the physical stuff - there's more tenderness, too., Also, aside from the usual team, we get to meet some intriguing new side characters. A special mention has to be made for Cassius's 'demon cat', Loki. I love this little guy and knew he'd have a bigger part to play. The side characters bring much if the humour in the book to life, too.

I genuinely can't wait for the next installment with these guys. It's 4.5* for Edge Lines from me.

An ARC was provided by GRR. This is my honest review.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Edge Lines goes back to what we all LOVED about book one. The major plot line is focused on Morgan and Cassius. (No teen MF romances to be found.) The romance portion was great. Loved seeing Morgan all jealous of Victor. My heart went out to Victor though, and it was definitely a treat to get a few chapters in his head.

There is MAJOR plot movement as the fallen angels get closer to finding out what happened all those years ago during the Fall. That's all I'm gonna say about it cuz you should enjoy gobbling up the new info as much as I did. The pieces are falling into place. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for whatever adventure Cassius and Morgan go on next.

Oh. wait. After reading, I think I have a good idea who's going to be playing a big role in Oathbreaker (book 4). 😜

This is the third installment of the Fallen Messenger series. The third book brings about many revelations about Morgan and Cassius. The entity that is attempting to destroy all the realms steps up his assault on earth and other realms. Cassius, Morgan’s and the team have to figure out how to stop him. Along the way they find out about themselves their past history and find that continue to be more than what they thought they were. Victor Cassius’s old lover embarks on the journey with them to save all the realms. What they discover when some of their memories return leaves underlying troubling questions. This in my opinion is the best of the three books. It ties some ends together but it also provides for more intrigue and mystery. AM Salinger does a masterful job of telling the Fallen’s story. It was hard to put this book down until I finished it! Enjoy!

Best one yet! While it still lacked a little in the romance department (I'd really have liked to see Cassius and Morgan have some more downtime, and their romance really shine) I still loved the bits we get. These two are very much into each other—soul mates. That's why I really hope the author doesn't screw with that where Victor is concerned. I'm still salty over reading the prequel of Victor and Cassius 😡.

It was good to get some of the background on everyone, and I'm looking forward to more.

Oh wow, what a ride. This is the best book in this series so far, at least in my opinion.
We get a lot of answers, but the way there is not only full of actions but also tension and heartbreak.

Cassius is as always sweet and ready to put himself in harm's way. Morgan is possessive of him but only so far that Cassius feels loved.
We get to see a lot more of Victor, much to Morgans displeasure 😉

I loved that the focus is back on Cassius and Morgan and really hope it stays there for the next book, which does not mean there is not a lot of potential for spin-offs 😀😀😀

The ending was a bit to abrupt for me ... but as we know that there is at least one other book it may qualify as mild cliffhanger.

All in all a great read, which I thoroughly enjoyed - 4,5 stars.

I am happy I got an ARC, but my opinion is as always honest and my own

Morgan (Prince of Night) and Cassius (Guardian of Light), desperately needing to find out why and how they had fallen to earth. When Cassius’ true identity comes to light, both angels are quite surprised.

The dynamic between Morgan and Cassius just keeps getting better. Their bond is as old as time but they keep learning new things about themselves and the strangeness surrounding them. Their love affair is so sweetly hot.

The author has created multi dimensional characters (literally) ‘cause this book takes place in multiple realms. Lots of action contributed to the story. As did the arrival of different gods. Pan so needs his own story. Loki showed much more of himself. The reader is getting a payoff for time invested in the series as some of the secrets of Cassius and Morgan are finally revealed.

Lots of characters to remember, made me have to stop a few times to think of who they were. I thought to author did a very nice job of making these worlds and the people and creatures in them come to life. I gobbled it up.

This series is absolutely amazing, brilliant, sexy and entertaining!!! Can’t get enough of Cassius and Morgan!!!!! Cassius and Morgan’s trip to Ivory Peaks uncover a little about their past but also they learn more about what they are against when a rift materializes out of nowhere and war demons start to attack. They help to saved Ivory Peaks but they have to return to Earth urgently! Earthquakes and another rift appears and this time is more dangerous that the last time. Poor Cassius and Morgan that can’t even enjoy a little time together when the bad guy is sending more war demons. After the battle Cassius and Morgan rescue the Wild God Pan with the help of Victor Sloan and here is when things start getting better and better! Poor Morgan he have to work with Victor, he really hate the guy for obvious reasons! Lol

The Wild God demand Cassius and Morgan help to rescue his lover and prevent the destruction of the Spirit Realm in exchange He will reveal the truth about who Cassius and Morgan are. This new mission is fill with so many action scenes and more new characters, Earth is in danger again and many other realms, Cassius, Morgan and Victor will have to save a few missing immortals that may help to save all of them. In this book we learn more about their past and I was excited the more I learn, Cassius and Morgan share a amazing bond and I love them together! Victor presence brings a little drama, but I can understand why Cassius needs him but Morgan is the one for him. This story is very entertaining and can’t wait for more!!! This serie is definitely a must read!

Edge Lines the third installment of the Fallen Messenger series delivered. This book is a much needed palate cleanser right after the disappointment that is Spellbound. It brings on the action as well as the romance (from steamy, sexy times to sweeter, softer moments). It also gives a lot found family vibes, humor and friendship along with great banter and interactions between characters. The world-building also remains to be a strong point in the story and at this point still has a lot of newer and fascinating things to offer the reader.

The book is firmly focused on Morgan and Cassius and we get to discover more revelations about their past lives and the power they both wield.

We also discover more about the being causing all the problems that our heroes are facing and what might be its motivation in doing so. And finally! Finally! After such a long absence in the story we get to see Victor again and his fate is more entangled with our main characters more than what we thought previously. He got some development in the story without really stealing the spotlight from the two leads. The other supporting characters that were introduced were quite charming as well and I do look forward to seeing more of them in future installments of the series.

I am probably one of the few people who would love to see the romantic relationship turn into MMM as I am firmly Team Victor. Still, I am intrigued on what will happen next and I am looking forward to discovering more about their past and how their relationship with Victor would grow and develop. Will Cassius and Victor's friendship endure despite the repercussions of past actions? Would it develop into something more? Color me interested.

This would be 4.25 stars out of 5 stars. Definitely looking forward to the next book.

I received an ARC of this book via GRR and I have chosen to publish my fair and honest review.

This book was action packed! I loved how the story/plot is progressing. We are taken to new realms, introduced to important players and get to witness Morgan being all possessive. What more could you want?

What I loved most about this volume is that we get to finally learn who our bad guy is. He has been lurking in the shadows for the past 2 books, but he gets more scene time here. We learn what his goal is and why the Fallen have lost their memories. Bonus: we more Loki time too!

This is a must read book. It is a continuation, so you need to read the prior volumes before this one.

“Look, no offense, but I have no need for a throne,” he said bluntly. “Running my team is enough of a pain in my ass. Ruling a kingdom would give me permanent indigestion.”
.
My Rating :4.5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨

Ahhh Cassian and Morgan always makes me happy. This book follows our main characters after the mess that was made in Book 2. I mean Dryad magic is no joke. The author managed to bring in humour and light hearted jokes even when things were going down and Gods were being held captive. All the new characters introduced in this book had their quirky comebacks for everything and honestly? It felt like Cassius was trying to manage a bunch of Kinder-garden kids and Morgan was the grumpy one.
.
Peering out of the rift behind the Reaper God, the inky mantle around him rippling with wrath, was the God of Darkness. “I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL!” Boreas scowled. His eyes flashed gold. “You can fuck off back to where you belong, asshole!”
.
Coming to the plot and character development,we get to see a lot of past and the magic evolving with the threat looming around Cass and Morgan. Victor was a nice addition to the story and the jealousy part , and the car rides were informative, lol. I think Cass had the best character development and we get to see a different side of Morgan towards the end. And that ending??? OMG I can’t wait to read what happens after that drunken shenanigans.
.
Cassius buried his face against the demigod’s heart and prayed for forgiveness. But he knew it would never come. Not after what he had done. His hands were forever drenched in the blood of his fallen brother and his sins would follow him to the end of his days.
.
This book had everything I hoped the author would do.We get the story from the past, learn about the demi god’s heritage, use some insane magic, keeper of the key gets possessive and we also get some Reaper and the right hand man romance. It also has it’s vulnerable moments and at this point? I wish the characters get a break from fighting demons from hell and just go on a peaceful date. BUT I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!
.
Thank you so much GRR for the gifted review copy!

Edge Lines is the third book in Ava Marie Salinger's Fallen Messenger's series. I've read both of the previous books. I was given the opportunity to read an Advanced Review Copy of the book prior to publication. I am thankful for the author/publisher's generosity, but this review is my own.

As a third installment in a series, I found the book pretty solid. I don't think it was as good as the first one, but I definitely think this book did a good job of bridging the gap into whatever happens next. In fact, my main problem with this book is that it feels like a gap book. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the book. I think the world Salinger has created in this series is fascinating. I'm awed at her ability to interweave so many mythologies into a coherent world. However, I just felt this book didn't further the story as much as I would have liked. Another critique that I had of this volume is that we once again learn one of the main characters has a special title (I won't say more to prevent any spoilers). I thought this was a good idea in the previous book, but now it's almost over-done. The author should explore the main characters instead of just adding more things. I think she has enough material to work with here without the additions. Again, this is just my opinion.

As a whole, I think this book was a really good read. If you haven't read either of the previous books, I would not recommend jumping into this one.

ah-maaaaazing!!!

This book was so absolutely amazing bringing lots of action and heat. I feel like I can’t fully even review without spewing spoilers everywhere. So so so much happens! I was ecstatic to see Victor FINALLY making an appearance outside of the prequel as he’s only mentioned in books 1 and 2. Poor Cassius stuck in the middle and I’m sure this isn’t the end. A LOT of questions are answered about the past while many paving the way for many many more questions, at least for me. Bring on book 4! And if you’re into audiobooks like I am I heavily recommend picking them up as Alex Kydd does the best job bringing all of these characters to life. I can’t wait for him to record this book and those going forward.

4.5 Stars!

As this is book 3 of the series and the overall storyline arc continues from book to book, I really suggest starting with Fractures Souls. Starting there will help you understand the building storyline and the interconnections between the characters.

This third installment of the series starts with a bang and keeps moving. A lot is going on everywhere, and Cassius and Morgan need more answers. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone, but there is so much happening and revealed in this one that I'm having a hard time not letting something spoiler-like out. So, I'll be as vague as I can while still telling you what I loved about this book.

I loved seeing more of Cassius and seeing his powers expand. I would love for him to finally remember all that he is capable of at some point. I loved how steadfast he is with Morgan and Cassius's selflessness. While I wasn't thrilled with the possessiveness of Morgan in a few situations, I could understand his worry when Victor was with them, especially after what they learned. I loved that even though Morgan wanted to protect Cassius at all times, he trusted Cassius to do what he needed to do to keep everyone safe. I like that Victor was there to help, and when Victor and Morgan aren't at odds, they are quite the team. What they learn in this installment explains a lot about the interactions of several of the characters, and I can only hope that they learn from it.

There were plenty of surprises for everyone in this book, and the action was almost non-stop. I really hope that the answers they receive will help them finish the final battle. The chessboard is constantly in motion, and they only see a small part of it. I will say that so much more makes sense after this book, and I hope that Victor can Cassius find a way to overcome the past and move forward.

Oh, so much is happening now. Major reveals about the MC's and a few side characters. This installment of the series gets a bit complex, so maybe don't read it when you're not in the mood to concentrate.

I loved that we got some more intense feelings from Morgan, hopefully we'll have some resolution for that soon.

If you've enjoyed the series so far, you won't be let down.

I love Morgan and Cassius so much! These guys are everything. I love these characters and can’t wait to see how it all resolves and they get their happily ever after. My heart pretty much felt like it was going to explode from the rush and the adrenaline. I was certainly on the edge of my seat. The answers they seek won’t bring them much joy but it will hopefully help them stop the threat facing them and their friends. Sometimes history is best left in the dark…but if anyone can handle it, it’s these guys. We get more insight into their history and Victor is much more heavily involved. I still have questions but I can’t wait to see how this all ends. This series is easily one of my new favorites.

Love this series. We keep finding out more and more about Cassius and Morgan and how everyone is intertwining with one another. The book gives us more insight into their past, their relationship, and how these two are destined to be together. Their story is romantic, steamy, funny and, we finally get to see Loki in action. The author is doing a great job with this series and I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

Edge Lines is the third book in the Fallen Messenger saga and it's completely amazing.
Cassius and Morgan get better with each book. The development that they have in this book as a couple fascinates me, they are extremely tender and sexy at the same time.
I loved seeing another side of Morgan when Victor makes more of a presence in the book.
I also love the times that they share with Julia, Zach, Adrianne, Bailey, and Charlie. Hopefully, they will have a bigger share in future books.
Pan was an entertaining and somewhat irritating addition, but hey, he's a god, so you can't expect much from him.
Loki stole my heart.
And the mythology used in this world, OMG!!! I love her, with each booklet we learn new and surprising things.
The secrets that this third book reveals will leave you with your mouth open since you will not see them coming.
I can't wait to read the next book.

Eagles away

“He would travel to the ends of the Nine Hells to be with Morgan.” Holy… what did I just read… oh my gods… I can’t even… This. Book. Is. Freaking. Amazing!! I am literally sitting here writing this and all I see in my head are vivid, earthshaking, chilling, emotional, heart pounding, hilarious—ohmygods, so funny—and breathtaking scenes from this epic book repeating in my head. So many lessons learned, like sheesh, do gods know how to hold grudges and beware who you take to bars for drinks.

Morgan and Cassius are phenomenal. So dreamy and sensual, their connection both thrills and warms my heart, among other things. What a swoon-worthy love these two have. And what incredible friends they have. I am in awe of what we learned and holding my breath at what is still to come. The suspense and world-building in this series blows my mind. Each new reveal and with how it’s all coming together, I love it so much. I just want to gobble it up and savor it all at the same time. You’ll fly while reading, and though the entire book is truly fantastic, like *chef’s kiss*, the scene at the end is perfect.

Incredible Plot, great characters

It’s been a while since I read the last book in this series, so it took a bit to get back into this extremely complicated universe with its ever expanding cast of supernatural and mythological characters. This of course includes those characters challenging, complex relationships with each other which is made even more convoluted and clouded because none of The Fallen remember their past lives due to a curse.

Salinger has written not just characters but characters that have characters layered over top of them, with each character layer having a distinct history complete with memories separate from one another. One preFallen and the person they’ve become sans memories after The Fall. Does this make them completely different beings now?

I suspect that’s going to be a question the author will be addressing in her storylines.

Edge Lines sees a return of some of those memories to our characters with haunting ramifications.

The memories have been returning in bits and pieces as Cassius Black and Morgan King find themselves with new powers and titles. In the last book, it became apparent that Morgan had Fae blood and powers that now manifested in a Wind Sword and a Crown of greens. Cassius too remembered names and took on a powerful heavenly shine when he used his powers to blast demons out of the city.

Their new Demi status is only the beginning.

The author is ramping up her series plot and it seems to be a wow of a series arc!

It happens over the course of the book. As Morgan and Cassius seek answers to who they were before The Fall , their enemy is making huge maneuvers to end the world order.

Salinger starts enlarging the cast of characters by bringing on more “ players “ who will have to help bring down the “big bad”. So we see the enlarging corp of fighters being assembled.

It’s more Gods and it’s fascinating as well as imaginative.

All I’ll say is I adore the Reapers!

And the author must have a huge wall of pinned cards to keep everyone and everything straight in the narrative because this is one labyrinthine series arc!

It’s just keeps getting better with each revelation.

I will say I’m not as heavily invested in Morgan and Cassius’s relationship as I am in the entire plot. Perhaps it’s a lack of chemistry for me that I find in other couples the author has created in this book.

Either way, the fantastic storylines keep me hugely entertained and engaged in the events going forward!

I need to know more! What happens next!

That’s Oathbreaker! I’ll be waiting for that to be released. It’s the series finale!

Until then, get ready. Read all the books in the order they were written and meet me at Oathbreaker!

I’m highly recommending this series and story!

Ava Marie Salinger is back with the third book in the amazing *Fallen Messengers* series and I had the best time reading this latest one! I had high hopes for this installment after both the first and second books kept me at the edge of my seat and *Edge Lines* had me gasping and swooning and everything in between.

Building on the fantastic elements laid out in the*Fractured Souls* and *Spellbound*, we continue to see Cassius and Morgan deal with the ever growing concern of the entity that is trying to wreak havoc on Earth and, as they find out, throughout all the Heavenly and Nether realms. Without spoiling anything I think it suffices to say that there are some Very Big, Very Concerning revelations in this book as our favourite demigods finally get some much needed answers to what happened in their past. Much like the previous novel, along for the ride are some new and highly entertaining faces like Pan who is just as sassy and just as amorous as legend makes him out to be, as well as some familiar faces in Victor who creates some inevitable tension just by his presence. However, since the stakes are higher than ever, we see everyone combining their collective strengths to protect all the realms, go on a rescue mission, and prevent the very fabric of reality from descending into chaos.

Apart from the nail biting action, and the excellently choreographed fight scenes, I really enjoyed the quiet moments between Morgan and Cassius and particularly seeing Cassius’s more vulnerable side which is juxtaposed with the impressive ways in which his abilities are growing. It’s delightful to be able to spend so much time with these characters and really delve into the nuanced and complex beings that they are. As always, Loki is, personally, the star of the show and I was utterly delighted with what he brought to the story. I cannot stress enough how fabulous this series is with its world building only getting better and better as the series progresses. Given what we learned in *Edge Lines* I am going to be counting down the days until the next book drops!

*Edge Lines* releases on the 18th of this month and the first two books are available for purchase or to read via KU now. I was thrilled to receive an ARC for this book through GRR and give it 5 big stars!

Edge Lines, the third installment in Ava Marie Salinger’s Fallen Messengers series, is a tightly woven, mythologically rich adventure that masterfully blends gritty urban fantasy with steamy romance and political intrigue. With its fast-paced narrative and ever-expanding world, this book continues to raise the stakes as gods, demons, and celestial powers clash in a modern setting rife with tension and consequences.

Cassius and Morgan once again take center stage, their relationship evolving with heart and heat. Morgan’s fierce loyalty to Cassius shines through, particularly in his relentless efforts to clear his name. Their dynamic remains sharp, playful, and passionate, and the return of Cassius’ ex, the demon Victor, injects an extra layer of tension and chemistry—especially as secrets about the Fall begin to surface.

Salinger excels at worldbuilding, adding new layers and characters without losing the urban fantasy core. Angels, demons, gods, magic users, and monsters—along with alternate realms—are woven into a rich tapestry that continues to expand across dimensions. The plot pushes forward with purpose, building momentum as the fallen angels inch closer to uncovering long-buried truths about the Fall.

That said, I strongly recommend reading the series in order. Book one lays the foundation for the celestial pantheon and introduces a sprawling divine family tree that becomes essential knowledge in later volumes. One minor critique: the lack of a family tree or a detailed glossary can be disorienting, especially as the cast grows. If these books are to function as true standalones, more reader guidance is needed.

I listened to the audiobook alongside reading, and Alex Kydd delivers a fantastic performance. His ability to give each character a distinct voice helped immensely with keeping track of the sprawling ensemble.

Overall, Edge Lines earns a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars from me. It’s an intense, sexy, and thrilling continuation of a series that keeps getting better. I only wish a few reference tools were included to help readers navigate its divine complexity.

4.5 Stars!

As this is book 3 of the series and the overall storyline arc continues from book to book, I really suggest starting with Fractured Souls. Starting there will help you understand the building storyline and the interconnections between the characters.

This third installment of the series starts with a bang and keeps moving. A lot is going on everywhere, and Cassius and Morgan need more answers. I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone, but there is so much happening and revealed in this one that I’m having a hard time not letting something spoiler-like out. So, I’ll be as vague as I can while still telling you what I loved about this book.

I loved seeing more of Cassius and seeing his powers expand. I would love for him to finally remember all that he is capable of at some point. I loved how steadfast he is with Morgan and Cassius’s selflessness. While I wasn’t thrilled with the possessiveness of Morgan in a few situations, I could understand his worry when Victor was with them, especially after what they learned. I loved that even though Morgan wanted to protect Cassius at all times, he trusted Cassius to do what he needed to do to keep everyone safe. I like that Victor was there to help, and when Victor and Morgan aren’t at odds, they are quite the team.

This book is the third in the "Fallen Messengers" series by Ava Marie Salinger, and I was eagerly waiting for its release. Give me angels and demons that can be good or bad, and everything else in between, and you have me.

We find Cassius and Morgan visiting the Dryad realm to know more about Morgan's heritage in this third instalment. The book gallops at a fast pace: from the Dryad's domain, we go back to earth and finally to the Sixth Hell. New characters are introduced. Amongst these, Pan draws a lot of attention. He is both instrumental to all the action unpacking in the book and that irritating character you cannot avoid liking despite it all. After all, he too has a heart - though you have to look quite a bit around to try and find it.

Although Salinger delivers, and I definitely enjoyed reading the book, I was left with mainly two impressions once I finished. The first one is that this book felt transitional, meaning that it prepares the ground for what's to come in the next one. Cassius and Morgan do not learn much more about the Fall and their identity (except for Morgan in the first pages and another character at the end), but they do acquire some means to solve the mystery through networking. The other impression is that the book is incredibly rushed. By my count, it all happens in three days and two nights - and there are lots of fighting and problem solving going on. Also, situations present themselves too conveniently - there is always someone rushing in with a new urgent matter just when the previous issue has been dealt with. This makes the story not only rushed but a bit artificial as well from time to time.

That being said, I love Cassius and Morgan, and I enjoyed Pan's personal brand of assholery quite a bit. Looking forward to the next one!

*4.5*
Edge Lines is another brilliant addition to the series by Ava Marie Salinger. It's packed with action, drama and the continuation of the overall series plot.
It took me a moment to get into the story as I tried to remember who everyone is and the roles they play (the glossary at the beginning helps) but once it starts, there's no stopping the momentum. Cassius and Morgan are still working towards unlocking more of their memories whilst dealing with whatever is being thrown their way by those looking to free Chaos. Things take an intense turn as demigods are in need of rescue, several realms have crevasses and rifts appearing and come under attack by war demons. Another twist comes in the form of Viktor arriving in town to help, Cassius's ex. I did enjoy getting a couple of chapters from his POV as it explained a bit about him and his thoughts on things. Morgan is definitely not happy about this and the two bicker on everything except when it comes to the health and safety of Cassius. There, they fight side by side. We get a lot more characters added to the mix in this one, including the Winter God and the Wild God, along with meeting up with those that have helped along the way. I really enjoyed getting to know Loki a bit more, another entertaining addition that Morgan is not too pleased about.
It's a fast paced story that grips from the beginning as we go from fight scene to revelation to fight scene to drama. Along the way, Cassius and Morgan find more of themselves and their history leading to an emotional end and what will be a very interesting next instalment of the series.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
