In this endlessly charming sequel to middle grade graphic novel Wizkit, the titular magical cyclops cat must use all her wits to solve the mystery of a missing (and book-shaped) friend!
Life is going swimmingly for Wizkit and her bustling bakery. After returning Book to the library, our favorite magical one-eyed cat isn’t just baking the softest bagels in town—she’s learning powerful (if disruptive) new magic, too!
But when Book is kidnapped from the Library, leaving behind a trail of strangely familiar magical clues, Wizkit must embark on yet another quest to track down her pilfered pal. Book seems to have been led astray by the sweet smell of pancakes, but who is really behind this bogus booknapping? With the help of the birdbrained Earheart Triplets and a few new friends, Wizkit follows the clues back to Book, and discovers that she has more in common with the culprit than she could have ever expected.
Whatever Tanya J. Scott creates I will be first in line for. I was so excited to see the Wizkit 2 announcement and to get an early copy…🎉💖🫶🏼 year made!
Wizkit the magical cyclops cat and the Earheart Triplets go on an adventure in search of their friend Book who has been kidnapped from the library. They are up for the quest!
Tanya’s illustrations are cozy and I wish this quirky world existed to visit. I mean who wouldn’t want to visit a Strawberry Pancake Village? I’m very much looking forward to revisiting this group of characters.

Not quite as charming as the first, but still quite cute. I think the intent/message was a little *too* spelled out for us readers, and there could've been more focus on the characters; the ghosts were such fun, and the Strawberry Pancake Village people and Dragon probably have great stories behind them. It kind of felt like there was just a little too much going on here that should've been split up into separate longer stories. Basically, I love the characters and the art, and want to spend more time getting to know them!

Another fun installment in the adventures of Wizkit and Book! Although I personally wasn't as invested in the story of this one as I was in the first book, I still had a few chuckles and enjoyed the character of the fashionable ghost. I also can't stop thinking about the strawberry pancake village!

Another wonderful addition to the Wizkit series. I enjoyed following Wizkit and the Triplets in this adventure, as they try to find out who kidnapped their friend Book. This has many great messages for children, just like the first. Also, the artwork is beautiful and quirky. The illustrations stand out from what I have seen before in graphic novels. Such a great little world.
*Thank you to Edelweiss and the publisher for my ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.*
Not quite as good as the first book imo, but I still love the art, the characters (especially Wizkit herself), and the sweet little lessons woven into the plot. 💕
