From breakout TikTok sensation Jeneane O'Riley comes the highly anticipated third book in the Infatuated Fae series, full of forbidden romance, twisty betrayals, and fairy tale magic.

"Maybe I want to be everything to you… your hero and your villain."

Trapped in the In-Between, Caly, Mendax, and Aurelius are fighting for their lives―they just don't know whose.

Caly's bond to Mendax from their bonding ceremony and her mortality being tied to Aurelius's from when he saved her life mean the three of them have tangled their life forces together. And now that they know maintaining both connections is against the natural order of things, one of them must be sacrificed for the other two.

Caly can't let another one of her loved ones die, but she also needs to answer the summons so she can finally meet her father. Then, perhaps, she can be sent to the Elysian Fields to be with her mother and sister. But her father has information that could change everything―and even if she's ready to sacrifice herself, she'll have to get through the Seelie Prince and the Unseelie Prince to do so, while also keeping them from killing each other.

Are we reading the same book? How are yall rating this 5 stars???

Book 1 was good. Book 2 was a complete disaster but I continued on with this book in hopes she’d go back to the way things were in book 1 and be decent again… but nope. Trash.

What even happened in this book?
A whole lotta nothing that’s what.

My best friend is a guy and never in my entire friendship have we ever discussed each other the way Eli discusses Caly. Their “friendship” love crap is weird. He went from kissing her in the bed at the inn to now suddenly he’ll never feel anything but platonic feelings for her?!? Whatttt.

And Mendax… what happened buddy? You used to be so cool. Why are you letting this whiney spoiled brat who apparently doesn’t need anyone or anything (including her own life) jerk you around?

I hate caly. Literally hate. I’ve never hated a female character more. She is so fickle and so back and forth with how she feels about LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

This wasn’t even a love triangle. It was just a cluster frick of nobody knowing what’s going on.

If you were to draw a chart of everyone and their powers and their character arc, I don’t think you could. Cuz what is even happening anymore?

I give up. I don’t get how the rest of you are hungry for book 4.

Honestly, if you have ever wanted to write- take the success of this series as a sign to write your book.

Doesn't matter if it isn't good, there's someone who will read and love it.

I can't believe I paid money to read this, honestly 😂🙃.

80% of this book is just nothing. Picture you're playing an RPG and you just keep having to complete side quests to get on track for the main storyline quest. Now picture that all of those side quests add nothing to the plot, they're not fun, you gain nothing, you're just grinding through and hoping to return to the main story sometime soon. That's this book.

No real world building. The characters aren't even fully fleshed out or developed. Their interactions are weird and awkward. The spicy scenes are out of place and feel forced into situations just to cater to the crowd that will read just for the smut.

Picture this- the love of your life is close to death because he's been draining himself to keep you alive. The clock is ticking. You have to find a clue- a single book in a huge library. There's no time. You're panicking that he's dying. Do you search for the clue? No, of course not- you awkwardly do it in the library and use books as nip clamps while your best friend searches instead. 🙃

I'm not even a picky reader. I'll read and fully enjoy books that aren't polished or well written just for the ✨vibes✨, but this is a trainwreck and a half.

"'You may be her father, Zef, but I’m her daddy now.' I smirked."
😐😐😐😐

Honestly these people are lying I swear, I was half enjoying this series and this third book… idk what happened but I’m sorry that was absolute crap. It was dragging on and boring, it literally consisted of three things

1. Mendax and Eli fighting over Caly (acting like they are 14 year old boys)

2. Caly saying how much she can’t live without them

3. Mendax and Caly have sensual moments at the worst and weirdest places possible.

It ONLY started to get interesting at the very end but it’s being continued into the last book. When there were “romantic” parts it felt completely wrong in timing and in weird parts of the book. Honestly everything about the book felt wrong. I wish it was different as I really enjoyed the realms, kingdoms etc.

this was so good. if these books are trash, call me the trash man.
mendax has yet again proved to be the most unhinged, feral, and fixated MMC and I… love him. 🧎🏼‍♀️‍➡️
I’m personally so glad the whole love triangle situation is over but that ending was CRIMINAL 💔 I’m gonna be on my toes waiting for this fourth book!

Honestly wtf was this.

The entire book was one long, boring unnecessary journey.. literally. The most shocking thing about this book is the fact that it was under 300 pages. It was SO slow burn it felt like 1000 pages of nothing .

Cali was being a petulant child the entire time.

Both men were mopey, useless and grumpy the entire time. Do people even like Mendax at this point? Like what does he bring to the story honestly?

Honestly the only person I like is Eli cos he is lighthearted and funny, so especially about the ending I have to say wtf.
One positive thing to say about this book is I *think* I like the dad.. yet I need way more info on him before I confirm my decision

5/5 star book

This book!! Tears running down my face as I ended the third book. The dedication page says it all. Absolutely amazing third book that has me laughing and crying sometimes within the same chapter. Told in mendax, Eli, and caly's povs we get a look into each of their heads as they travel to meet the caly's father to save them from the bond and tie that they have. I cannot wait for the 4th book to come out. And in true fashion this does have some spice in it as well.

I definitely feel like the writing improved soooo much in this book compared to the first two. Firstly, I’m so glad everyone defined their love and the love triangle is over. Secondly, I loved the banter between Mendax and Eli. I definitely found this one to be a bit more predictable than the first two books, but the overall story and character relationships were better.
I feel like this is more of a “vibes” series and you know what? I’m having a good time. These books are all fast, easy, entertaining reads and I’m here for it.

Well that was a whole lot of nothing. Also I actually like that she used the book titles in the previous two books, and I may have just missed it, but I’m pretty sure she left it out of this one and I’m disappointed. Overall this was an annoying snooze fest but the line “You may be her father…but I’m her daddy now” is forever burned into my brain in the worst fucking way.

I was so exited for this and it fell soooo flat. The characters were repeating the same things throughout the book. To name just a few; Mendax couldn’t stop with the you’re mine yada yada. Caly turned into a blood thirsty annoyingly whiny character. And Eli put himself in the friend zone so fast it didn’t feel real. I almost DNF’d it at chapter 16.

“Your wants sit far beneath my need to possess you”

I want to crawl inside you and consume my way out, knowing that every part of you is forever a part of me. I crave command over every thought you've ever had, to feel every worthless surface that has ever touched your skin. I want your needs and cravings buried so inside my own flesh and bones, they become indistinguishable from my own. That’s what I want, pet”

"You may be her father, Zef, but I'm her daddy now."

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!

Are you freaking kidding me? This book was everything and more and I need the fourth book now. I’m already have serious withdrawals and I need more. I will forever recommend this series as it so beautifully written and captivating. It’s truly not like most books on the market. The world building is so unique and so beautiful. Her words bring everything to life and I am forever wishing to find a portal to there.

Also sorry not sorry though I teared up at his emotional goodbye, I was okay with losing him lol.

Mendax continued to prove he is the most feral, unhinged, seriously morally dark MMC and I love every piece of him. When I say I want my MMC dark he is exactly that!

Our FMC? She is amazing, strong, and real with her emotions and conflicts. I just hated when she couldn’t separate her love because let’s be real, Mendax was and is always the first choice ;)

"You may be her father, but I'm her daddy now."

"Suns above you fucking pervert. You liked that? You liked me threatening you?"
"What? No!"
"You did. I could smell it."

Review:
Okay, I gotta be honest, me and this series were not insta love.
I read it and I kept thinking about it. Eventually, I read the second book, and I was hooked!
It even made me like the first book more because so much more makes sense now!
The books are just so damn entertaining and unhinged.

One MMC is a shadow daddy who is morally black but has just that little splash of grey that makes you forgive him all the bad things he does. I mean one of my fav quotes was:
"Who will you kill for me?"
"Everyone."
We love that right?

And then we have the sunshine best-friend hero MMC who is all jokes and loves to annoy the grumpy shadow warrior.

I can tell you I laughed my ass out this entire book. And besides that, I loved the adventure and the spicy scènes. But that ending? Criminal 💔.

I can't wait for book 4 and the best part is...
It comes out THIS year!

- Dark romantasy
- Grumpy shadow daddy
- Sunshine hero
- Forced proximity
- Adventure
- Humor
- Touch her and die
- Spice
- Mystery
- Check TW's

* Contains spoilers*I wanted to like this book. I was excited for the release, but I struggled finishing this book. I did not want to pick it up. It was filled with lazy editing mistakes. It was short, so everything seemed rushed. The arguments were so repetitive and felt like they came out of nowhere. I felt a disconnect with the characters and their reasoning.

I can't stand Caly, I didn't care if she died or not. Her relationship with Mendax is not it for me. Her "soulmate"( her calling him that felt like it came out of nowhere) repeatedly threatens your best friend and yet she just says, "Promise me you wont kill him" with puppy dog eyes every time? Is she a strong woman who will fight for those she loves, or is she a love blind puppy?

The last 5 pages were decent. The writing completely fell off in this book. This cannot be the same author that wrote the first two books. This was filled with cringe and poorly placed sex scenes that made no sense. I have so looked forward to this book but it was a mess. I’m not sure if I will be finishing the series now.

This book both annoyed and captivated me. I could’ve done without Mendax being absurdly annoying for half of the book, as well as Caly having emotional whiplash and several indecisive monologues about Eli and Mendax that bordered on the same words every time, but I still overall enjoyed this read and it kept me entertained and wanting to know what was going to happen, even if getting to Maori dragged on. Through it all, the spice in this was great and some of it had me dropping my jaw but in a good way. The end absolutely wrenched my heart apart and while I’m upset about it, I am anxiously awaiting to see what happens next.

This has been the best one yet in the series. This journey they all had to take together was hilarious I loved the first 30% where both of them were fighting over her I was dying of laughter. Then Eli had to go and figure out it was just a friendship connection with Caly but the bickering was still funny too. Caly was a lot better for me in this book. But Mendax and Eli were my favourites. Was not expecting Eli to be the one to go to Tartarus but I’m so glad there’s gonna be a book 4 cause if the series ended like that I would be pissed

Oh man this one was painful… took forever to force myself to finish it. I tried but I just couldn’t get into this. The storyline was so dragged out, not digging the FMC, the pov’s were so boring and repetitive and the muddied relationship lines were so annoying and back and forth and wishy washy, it was frustrating to read, litteraly felt confused and annoyed from going around in circles. Even the ending was lackluster. I truly feel let down, this story had such potential after book one but really dropped the ball on book 2&3.

⭐️⭐️.75/ 5 Book 3 of the Infatuate Fae Series. This one was not as chaotic as the first two books, the first three quarters of it was just annoying. You might ask….why are you continuing to read this then? Well I’d say…I wanted to know what happens to these characters. Did I find out…No, cliffhangers are a b***h, but the last quarter was interesting and held my attention. The Unseelie and Seelie fae princes along with Cali (Calypso) are trapped within the in between, the journey itself had me wanting to take them all out, lol. The banter was juvenile and relentless. This one does have spice and gets really spicy at the strangest times. The cliff hanger at the very end, uggh. Will I read book four, I don’t know, maybe. I wanted to love it, It just may not be for me.

This series started strong, but by Book 3, it completely lost its way. The plot is barely holding together, and any sense of world-building is non-existent. For a fantasy novel with a supposed journey/quest structure, there’s shockingly little depth to the world, the Fates, or the stakes. Instead of organic storytelling, major plot points are just handed to us before they even unfold, killing any potential for suspense or excitement.

The romance subplot is just as frustrating. The relationships feel forced, inconsistent, and devoid of chemistry. Eli’s sudden shift from romantic to purely platonic made no sense, and Mendax, once a compelling character, is reduced to being pushed around by a protagonist who can’t seem to make up her mind about anything. Speaking of which—Caly’s indecisiveness and lack of development make her one of the most aggravating leads I’ve encountered in a long time.

By the end, I found myself more confused than invested. The character arcs are a mess, the stakes feel meaningless, and the story meanders with no clear direction. I genuinely don’t understand the five-star reviews or the excitement for the next book.
