Omega Arlo just needed a handyman. What he got instead was Kalen, a fiercely protective, alpha lion shifter with a heart of gold. When a fallen tree wrecks Arlo’s house, a misdialed number brings Kalen into his life. He’s not a contractor, but he is willing to help… and something about Arlo makes it impossible to walk away. Their unexpected connection grows stronger, but Kalen is keeping a secret, one that Arlo might not be ready to hear. When the truth comes out, fear threatens to tear them apart. But fate has other plans. A second chance. A new beginning. And the biggest surprise of all, Arlo is pregnant. Now, with a baby on the way, they’ll have to figure out what love, family, and forever really mean. Because sometimes, the wrong number leads to exactly the right person. ‍‍Sweet and steamy MM fated mates with heart, humor, mpreg, and a little bit of roaring.

Arlo and Kalen . . .

Arlo, a human omega, and Kalen, an alpha lion shifter, are going to find that not all mistakes are bad. Arlo works from home, but a storm causes the tree he loves to fall on his roof and damage it. He leaves a message for the handyman his cousin recommends, but he dialed the wrong number. When Kalen listens to the message, his lion reacts to Arlo’s voice, so Kalen responds to the call. The two of them immediately feel an attraction. Will this be the start of their love story? Or will the human panic to find that Kalen can shift into a lion?

Wrong Number, Right Lion is the 4th book in the Dial M For Mates series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the rest of the series. This is the story of Arlo, a human omega and Kalen an alpha lion shifter. Like all the other books in the series this one starts with a wrong number being called. I love these quick sweet low angst stories. This was just perfect to take me out of my normal day and bring me to a mind relaxing read. If you want a sweet low angst story that ends with a cute little one this book is for you. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

This is book four of the Dial M for Mates series and the main characters are human omega Arlo, whose favourite tree was a silver maple and a storm brought it down onto his home, causing water to come pouring in, and alpha lion shifter Kalen, a maths teacher now on summer break, who gets a voice message on his phone from someone asking for help after a tree fell on his house and it was raining inside. It was his lion’s sudden interest in the man’s voice and the insistence that he go and help him, Arlo thought that he had been ringing his cousin Stephen’s handyman, but he had misdialled and called Kalen instead! When Kalen turns up at Arlo’s door, Arlo is dumbstruck with how attractive Kalen is, whilst Kalen suddenly turns pale and has to grasp his stomach, seemingly in pain. Kalen also looks Arlo up and down, focusing on parts of Arlo that aren’t really polite, but he didn’t give off any creepy vibes thankfully. Kalen explains that Arlo had called him by mistake, but that he was here to help and was quite handy. Kalen’s lion automatically knew Arlo was their mate, but the fact that Arlo was human had just made this very complicated, and his beast isn’t quite as ready to hear that they need to go slowly. Kalen is there to help however he can, having grown up in his pride and always helping his dad with lots of building work, and since he now knew Arlo was his mate he would do anything to help. All Arlo is worried about is how much the work is going to cost him, not knowing if his insurance would pay for the damage and work done to repair it all. Kalen tries to pacify him, but he still worries about the cost and when his cousin hears about this, he races round, thinking Kalen is scamming him!

Arlo was desperate to take a cutting from his tree, hoping to replant it in the same place once it was big enough, so he could continue to see it out of his office window upstairs. Arlo feels a connection to Kalen and doesn’t want Stephen to ruin his chance to see where this might go. He manages to push Stephen out and decides to check out Kalen and his work and is rewarded with an invite on a simple picnic date. Things go slowly from there, with both sort of worried about whether the other is really interested in them, as much as they are. Kalen has to try and slow his lion’s impulses down, wanting to rush into mating Arlo, but Kalen can’t do it until Arlo knows about his animal and agrees to be mated! It physically hurts Kalen to leave Arlo with just a kiss, as his mating bond strengthens. The reveal is a bit too much for Arlo, but he soon realises Kalen hadn’t mislead him about anything he could tell him, before he revealed his beast and if he loved him, he had to love all of him, not just his human side. The relationship was steamy from almost the outset and Kalen asks an older human woman to go to a shop to help him with something for Arlo. There is a funny scenario when Arlo and Kalen realise that Arlo is pregnant and Kalen tries to break it too a very tired and sleepy Arlo, who just wants to sleep. Add to that the surprise birth scene in a place they clearly hadn’t arranged, and panic almost sets in, as well a cute epilogue showing their cubs and their happy little family. A misdialled call has brought them together by chance and neither of them regret what happened next. Even Princess has her new spot in the garden, which was part of a totally soppy action of Arlo’s after his favourite tree fell down and had to be carried around everywhere important!

I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout, and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Wrong Number, Right Lion is the fourth book in the ‘Dial M for Mates’ series. It stars Kalen, a teacher and Alpha lion shifter, and Arlo, a human omega. This is told in first person from Arlo and Kalen’s pov.

The cover has the same theme as the other covers in the series. The cover model strongly reminds me of a real football player I’ve seen making me think that Kalen is a sports player instead of the teacher that he is.

The blurb does a decent job of describing the basic plot for the beginning of the story on how Kalen and Arlo met. I do wish the blurb would mention their names however.

I enjoyed this story much more than the many other stories this author team has written. The getting to know you phase was slower, but realistic, and when Kalen finally showed Arlo his lion, Arlo’s reaction was perfect. It was how I’d imagine a human would react when they discovered that what they believed of the world was not like they always thought. Let alone to be faced with a huge predator that people’s lizard brain instinctively knows is a massive danger and then the flee warning kicks in. Arlo’s fear and conflict added more depth to the relationship and made for a more interesting story. I only wished that Arlo’s confliction had lasted longer, maybe for a week instead of overnight, so the separation between the two men was lengthier, and the tension and anxiety would have been more pronounced. But I liked how the authors improved their writing with the horrified reaction of the human at the shifter reveal. The authors also seemed to have fleshed out this story more than many of their other ones so this seems to flow together better.

I liked that there wasn’t as much time spent on the pregnancy and building a nest. The birthplace was a different one, kind of mystical, and I liked that bit of uniqueness.

Kalen and Arlo were likeable characters. There was instant lust from Arlo’s side, and Kalen knew Arlo was his mate from the start, but he had to remain patient because Arlo was human. There is the fun addition of a sort of side character called ‘Princess’ which isn’t a human.

Overall, I quite enjoyed this story. It’s a fast, fluffy read with nice characters. I recommend this to others and give this a solid 4 Stars

The forecast says a storm is coming. Arlo makes everything as safe as he can, asks his favourite tree to stand against the storm and settles in for it to pass. Sadly the tree doesn't make it, nor do various parts of his roof. Calling the handyman his cousin gave him a number for and hoping is all he can do.

Summer break has finally arrived, after one last, long meeting with the new Dean Klaen can go home and simply, in his words, be a slug for the summer. He knows he will do more than binge his favourite tv shows but right now teaching is done for the summer and he can relax, and also wait out the storm.

What the forecast didn't say but fate had a strong hand in, was that Arlo and Kalen would find one another as a result, that they would tentatively bond over Princess, a shoot from the fallen tree and a hope for the future. Arlo called the wrong number for help, Kalen answered regardless, fate did its part in the rest.

Kalen's lion may have a thing or two to say to him when he isn't insitent enough at marking their mate but Arlo is human and Kalen knows he needs to take time and be gentle but will that be enough?

A heartwarming love story. A wrong number brings two people together, a friendship blooms into more, there are a couple of ups and downs along the way, nothing that is not to be expected, and then of course there is the opportunity to make up. Sweet, charming, touching. A love story between two men, not forgetting the lion and the tree.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Dial M for Mates Series. This is a book about fated mates so their relationship moves at warp speed. This book is about Arlo, a human omega who nearly loses his home due to his favourite tree falling through his roof during a storm so he rings his cousin’s handyman and leaves a voicemail and Kalen, an alpha lion shifter college maths professor. After Kalen receives a voicemail from a stranger thinking that they’d rung a handyman as their house is damaged due to a tree falling into the roof during the storm and it’s now raining inside. Kalen’s lion is adamant that he helps, luckily he’s done some handy work when he was younger to help around his Pride. Kalen heads to the address that he was given to tell him what happened and agrees to help. I thought that they were cute together. How will Arlo take it when he not only learns that shifters are real and that Kalen is a lion shifter? I’ve already pre-ordered the next book, Wrong Number, Right Cougar which I’m looking forward to reading it when it’s released in June. I’d recommend this book, series and authors to others.

This is a great book to read!! This is the fourth book in this series.. Arlo is at home getting ready for a call when the storm hits. The storm uprooted the Silver Maple tree that was in his backyard. The tree lands on the roof. The roof starts to leak in several places. Arlo calls his cousins handyman to see if he can come fix the roof. Kalen is a alpha lion, he is also a college math teacher. Kalen is stuck in a meeting trying to explain why they need the basic math classes when the storm hits. When Kalen finally leaves he heads home, he lives outside of town. Kalen has to go back to town and get groceries before heading home again. Kalen checks his phone and see he has a missed call and message. Kalen goes to Arlo's to explain that he missed dialed. When Kalen sees Arlo his lion wakes up and has a need to help and stay close to Arlo. Kalen agrees to fix the roof and will only accept what the insurance company will pay. After spending time with Arlo everyday they grow closer. What will Arlo do when he finds out Kalen is a lion shifter???? Fated Mates.

'I’d misdialed. Getting out my phone, I checked the number, and there was a one-digit difference. How lucky was I, making a mistake and getting Kalen as my reward?'

I love this whole series and this book is no exception! I can't not be excited whenever I see a new romance that comes about when someone calls for help but dials the wrong number and finds their soulmate instead. I loved both Arlo and Kalen. I was actually very sad Arlo's favorite tree fell down- it sounded beautiful- and so sweet that in the midst of scrambling to contain all the rainwater leaking through the roof, he still wanted to take a cutting to replant it anew. Lion shifter Kalen was a math professor not a contractor, but his heart went out to Arlo, who sounded overwhelmed, and his lion really wanted them to help. These two were really cute together and the chemistry between them immediate. Kalen just needed to figure out how to tell his human omega he was a shifter. George and his crew were really sweet, too. 4 stars.

I’d read this type of tree was more prone to being felled by high winds, but my silver maple had withstood plenty of storms. - Arlo

My Opinion:
In this story, we have a lion shifter named Kalen who responds to the plea of an omega human in his voicemail that needs help with a tree that fell on his home. The miss dial of a phone number leads the human omega, Arlo, to crossing paths with his fated mate. The story is short, sweet and to the point. Of Lorelei‘s stories, I think this one is one of my favorites. I like the premise of the wrong number series as a whole as well. I’m a girl who loves smutty-ness so I could always take more and longer scenes. I love how they incorporated Princess into the story. As someone who loves their garden, I can totally understand Arlo‘s loss. Curious, did things ever truly get resolved with Stephen? I feel like Kalen should have made Arlo grovel a little more. Overall a cute story though! Loved it.

Wrong Number, Right Lion is a standalone paranormal romance by my favourite writing team (especially in MM) Lorelei M Hart and Colbie Dunbar. This is the fourth book in the Wrong Number series, and is an MM omegaverse story that brings together an alpha/omega couple and also gives us cute babies.

Wrong Number, Right Lion brings together human omega, Arlo, and lion shifter alpha, Kalen. Arlo thinks he's calling a local handyman, when he actually gets Kalen, a maths professor. However, despite the mix up Kalen decides that he will simply, because the guy who left a message seemed desperate. And as fate would have, they are mates.

This is a super sweet story, the characters are both down to earth (despite their paranormal setting) and have a genuine kindness and gentleness about them. Though to put it simply, I love just about anything these authors do.

Sometimes fate points us in the right direction to connect us with the right person. Arlo a human omega tries to make everything as safe as possible before the store hits especially for his favorite tree hoping against all hope it will withstand the storm, settling in hoping to get through the storm and sadly the tree doesn’t make it in fact it falls on to his roof causing damage so he calls his cousin who is a handyman asking for help. Kalen, an alpha lion teacher head home for the summer break to do nothing but enjoy being lazy, doing nothing, slumming, watching his favorite tv shows and relaxing waiting out the storm. But then he gets a call for help with a roof wrong number and he something about his voice his lion is adamant that he help luckily he had some experience with handy work agreeing to help but where are they headed will he accept all of him, what will he think about his lion, will his roof get fixed as planned, and will they get the HEA they both seek?

This is the fourth book in the Dial M for Mates series. Each book is a standalone read. This is the story of Arlo and Kalen. Arlo is a human omega. When a tree crashes onto his roof, he calls a handyman in a panic and leaves a voicemail for help. Kalen is an alpha lion shifter. He hears Arlo's voicemail while the storm is still raging and rushes over to see if he can help. His lion was intrigued by the voicemail but once they meet in person there is no doubt. Arlo is his fated mate. But Arlo is human and doesn't know about mates or shifters. Kalen is prepared to move slowly to get what he wants. And if his handyman skills can be put to use helping his mate, all the better. This is their story. The book is written well and easy to read. A nice sweet story with no angst. Perfect for an afternoon read.

All of these “Wrong Number, Right ——“ books are engaging and entertaining, and Kalen and Arlo’s story fits right in. From a tremendous storm and a fallen tree, plus a wrong number, another pair of fated mates is led to meet. Kalen is a lion shifter, Arlo is a human who has only read or heard about shifters as mythical beings, so Kalen’s lion in the “flesh” so to speak, is something he has a really hard time wrapping his mind around, but once he does, the romance may move forward. Kalen is a romantic, and does all he can to woo his young human, leading him to their HEA, complete with a cub. Sweet story, relatable characters, realistic scenario (except for the lion part), an unusual “offspring”named Princess, and two guys meant for each other. A short, fun read.

Wrong Number, Right Lion (Book 4) by Colbie Dunbar

This charming and steamy MM Mpreg romance proves that sometimes, a simple mistake can lead to fate. When a desperate call for a handyman accidentally reaches the wrong number, an unexpected alpha arrives instead—one who’s more than willing to stay and help in more ways than one.

With an irresistible alpha lion shifter, a strong omega in need of support, and an adorable baby on the way, this story is packed with warmth, passion, and the magic of fated mates. Add in a lovable tree sappling, some unexpected laughs, and plenty of heat, and Wrong Number, Right Lion is the perfect feel-good read.

Silver maple baby, fireflies, ducking ducks, baby sick, store-bought pesto, charcuterie, apple cinnamon muffins, Princess, pink shirt, 'I'm in.'

Like the other books in this series, this story is sweet and low angst. It's a short and easy to read. There's a minimal amount of details.

There's usually a shifter and a human as the MCs. That's the theme of this book. Arlo is 100% human and Kalen is a lion shifter. Arlo is an adorable sweetheart. In this universe, humans cannot know about the existence of shifters.

As short as this book is, I still enjoyed this. If you're looking for a feel good and quick story, I recommend it.

This is such a fun, adorable, and entertaining story. I was engaged from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down. Arlo and Kalen are such fun characters. Arlo is so cute and his favorite tree falling on his house leads to him calling for help and accidentally getting Kalen. Who is a math professor with building skills. They also happen to be mates. They don’t bond immediately and their relationship isn’t without barriers, but it was fun watching their relationship build and grow. I love Princess and how she plays a role in their story throughout. I loved this story and highly recommend it and the entire series. I can’t wait for more stories!

I love this series. Please read the previous books. You will love them! This one starts with a bang. Literally. Arlo's favorite silver maple crashes through his roof. A wrong number finds Kalen at his door. The attraction is immediate and intense. It's fun watching Kalen control his lion, who has one purpose...mate, mine, mark, claim. What results is a lesson is home repair, building relationships, acceptance, and abiding love. Sometimes the wrong number is really the right number. After, Fate does know best. So, get your fingers working and grab this book, Now!.

This is book four of the author’s Dial M for Mates series and I love that each of the couple’s whose match was fated started with a call to the wrong number.

Arlo and Kalen’s love began the same way, aided by a terrible storm that had Arlo’s house quaking, trees being uprooted and a leaking roof, something neither man thought they’d ever be thankful for.

This was a short read with two sweet MMCs. Neither man was dominating, bossy or pushy; even Kalen, the alpha lion, was sweet and sensitive to the fears of Arlo, his human mate by putting his needs first in this adorable, zero angst romance.

Arlo was hunker down at home when the storm hit. He assumed his house would be relatively safe from any damage. He was wrong. His favorite tree fell and landed on his roof. He had leaks from several places. He called what he thought was his cousin's handyman but unbeknownst to him it was the wrong number. He had left a voicemail. Kalen weather professor at the college and was starting his break. When he got the voicemail from Arlo his line tried to take over and forced him to go to him. Imagine his surprise when he shows up and finds out that the human is his mate.

Arlo's house suffers damage after a favourite tree is struck by lightning and falls on it, causing a leaking roof. Seeking help, Arlo accidentally misdials while trying to reach his cousin’s handyman. The call unexpectedly brings alpha Kaden to the door—someone entirely unrelated but willing to stay and assist. Yet, as the story unfolds, it seems fixing the house might not be the only connection Arlo desires.

This was a sweet story as Kaden met his mate thanks to a storm and the unfortunate felling of a much loved tree. I did find some of the story silly like "Princess" . Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Arlo and Kalen story was endearing with a bittersweet undertone.
Their first meeting was interesting as fate interferes again with the wrong number that bring immense happiness.
They had a couple of hurdles along the way and a couple of misunderstandings and miscommunication, but patience and the connection they have helped them to tide over.
I liked their loving moments together and the sweet bundles of joy they got along the way.
It was enjoyable, I’m looking forward to the next adventure.

This is another sweet read in the Dial M for Mates series. And I loved it!

Fate has a funny way of getting these shifters with their mates. In the case of Arlo and Kalon, it's a misdialed phone call. Arlo needs help, and while Kalon isn't the intended handyman requested to do repairs, it doesn't mean he's the wrong guy for the job.

Loved the characters. Loved the sweet heat of their instalove relationship. A wonderful addition to this series!.

Arlo’s favorite tree fell into his house so he called his cousin’s handyman and Kalen shows up because Arlo called the wrong number. Kalen told Arlo that he would fix the roof because he knew that they were mates. Arlo saves a shoot from the tree and feels the pull to Kalen after the roof was fixed, Kalen shows Arlo his lion. He said he needed a little time, his brother thought Kalen was going to scram Arlo. Arlo missed Kalen felt something missing so he went to Kalen and apologized for being a jerk.

Horrible

Was this book even edited? There are zero indicators on how much time passes between pages/chapters and half the time, nothing made sense. Zero back stories but the author acts like you know their personal histories, so it's hard to read. The plot had a lot of potential and the ball was dropped big time. I hate when authors are so unoriginal that they use the "I'm a shifter" as the angst point for a book, like that's been done thousands of times (and a lot better than this book did)... so, put in the work and deliver a book with an original concept.

A wrong number can be good.

Arlo's roof is damaged by the silver maple tree that he loves, when it's struck by lightning during a storm. He calls a number but dials it wrong. Little does he know but that wrong number will bring him the love of his life.
Kalen gits a message from a number that he doesn't recognize asking for help. He decides to go and see what he can do to help. Upon arrival, he sees the fallen tree on the house but he also sees, his mate.

I love these stories of fate, and a misdialed number, helping a couple to cross paths and sweeping them along to their HEA. In this case it's Arlo, a human omega and Kalen, an alpha lion shifter. A tree falls on Arlo's house and when he reaches out for an assist he gets more than he was thought he was reaching out for. These stories are so much fun!.

This is another great addition to the Dial M for mates series, I really liked Arlo and Kalen’s story of how even though a voice message Kalen knew he needed to help Arlo and once they met and realised Arlo was his mate how he took things slowly to make sure he didn’t scare him away. I thought Arlo’s reaction to finding out about Kalen being a shifter was realistic but liked seeing him work through it quickly and I liked that the epilogue was set several years later.
