This isn't an awful book, but it's so basic. I've done a lot of self help work, inner child work, relationship work, and I was expecting this to be more focussed on attachment styles. Which it is, I guess, but it pulls on so many other areas. And again, I get it, they are interconnected but it just felt like a misdirection to me.

If you are a beginner in any of the areas I listed, then yes, this might be a great book for you.

If you've done any work previously on it, it will feel like a light skim over the basics and not that helpful of diving in deeper.

After the topic of having a disorganized attachment style was brought up in a therapy session, I've obviously spent a lot of time researching and reading.

This book has information in it that may be helpful to people just discovering that they may also fit in that box. It wasn't necessarily incredibly helpful for me as a lot of it was repeat information in my journey but I do think it has a use for early treks into trying to heal your attachment. It is at the very least an informative starting point.
