Fake wedding + vampires = happily ever after?

Vampires live forever…and so do his in-laws

Pandora has real problems. She’s working a dead-end job as the night barista at a 24/7 coffee-shop, she still lives with her parents, and, oh yeah, she’s a vampire who has to get married by the end of the year or she won’t inherit her ancient family fortune. One slight catch: she’s single.

When PhD student and coffee shop regular (and Pandora's work crush) Victor mentions his crippling debt, Pandora is overjoyed. She’s found the perfect solution to her problem. She can marry Victor, inherit the family fortune, pay off his debt, and divorce him as quickly as they married. It should be simple!

But things in Pandora’s life are never that easy. Victor doesn’t know she’s a vampire, and absolutely cannot find out. On top of that, her whole family is getting involved in the wedding planning, turning Pandora’s proposed elopement into an extravaganza not fit for humans.

Plus, the growing attraction between Pandora and Victor has her questioning whether she even wants this marriage to be fake at all. Can the pair survive this big fat vampire wedding?

Ok, ok. Finally a vampire book that doesn't make me run!!!
I liked this. It was cute and - most of all - it was SO fun to read 😆
I liked the fact that there was this huge extended vampire family and every day the wedding was getting closer and closer a new vampire would just pop up in the house.
And the discussions between the old generations Vs the new.
The vampire sun blocker was a blast! and so the discussions about the bed Vs the coffin, the ethical sourced blood... Ah!

Maybe not the most gothic or accurate vampire story out there... but it was a great time and a nice love story 💜

Ⓟⓡⓔ—Ⓡⓔⓥⓘⓔⓦ

New Arc!
I really hope this book will get me out of my vampire terror.
I've always loved vampire movies and tv series... some minor books in the past, too.
But in these couple years, my few attempts at vampire romance have left me "ugh" ..."bleah".
But this seemed too fun to pass out. It even has the marriage of convenience trope I love so much!!

❁ Thank you to Netgalley, Jessica Gadziala and Avon Books UK for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion ❁

5☆ Couldn't Put This Book Down!

I absolutely love a good vampire book and this book ticked all my boxes. It had humour, fake lovers, vampires, werewolves, Romance, a touch of spice, and a whole lot of books, coffee, drama, and one big vampire family!

It made such a change to not read a vampire book focused all on sex and blood. Don’t get me wrong there is a good mix of spice and passion. There is so much to this book.

I really, really, hope there will be another installment as I want more and need to know more. I loved Pandy and Victor i want to see what's next for them! Will Victor become hers for eternity?
Oh and Lucy and Elias, there flirty banter sizzled i really hope we get a story just for them!
Oh and I almost forgot Dante we only just scratched the surface on his story with his experiment.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed My Big Fat Vampire Wedding and couldn't put it down!

A big Thank you to Avon Books, for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

The title had more bite than the book!🥴

Vampires are everywhere right now, including cute covers like this, and I loved "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" when it first came out (I assume that’s where the allusion in the title comes from). I was hoping for something funny, light-hearted, and still readable, but unfortunately I didn’t get that from this book.

The main character needs to get married to get her inheritance (she’s already in her 100s after all). Enter her coffee shop crush, who agrees to help with a marriage of convenience because he needs to fund his PhD programme in… vampire studies (of course, he doesn’t know vampires are real). The big vampire family was fun. I liked the best friend - and that’s pretty much it.

I thought there was no chemistry between the characters, and the MMC “was just there”, there wasn’t much of him and he felt a bit flat??. The plot dragged, and I found myself irritated. The first half of the book kept me somewhat invested, but by the second half, I’d mentally checked out. It just didn’t feel fun enough for me.

I still think that if you enjoy lighthearted books, it could be a quick-ish autumn read, but it wasn’t what I was looking for.

Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I love this emotional, funny, and entertaining story.
A great story that, at first glance, appears to be just a fantasy/paranormal rom-com, but is actually so much more.

Fantastic characters.
Amazingly written story.
Hilarious banter-filled discussions with The Family.
Vampires, werewolves, humans, all with so many "incredible ideas" 💡 😂 and hopefully soon their own books.
So many incredibly fascinating characters.
A story that is not only exciting but also complicated, dramatic, and emotional.

A great heroine, who despite her dominant family, tries to find her own way.
A perfect hero.
Victor is trustworthy, loyal, and simply adorable.
They are almost perfect for each other.
If it weren't for a few "little" secrets that Pandora forgot to mention.

His story started out very unusually, but their life developed into a wonderful, unique love story.
And a beautiful, scorching hot HEA.

Quick Summary: A spooky-licious, vampire rom-com with heart

My Review: My Big Fat Vampire Wedding by Jessica Gadziala is a 2025 paranormal romance. It was released TODAY (8/14/25).

About the Book: "Fake wedding + vampires = happily ever after?"

In My Own Words: What do you get when you put a female vampire of a considerable age with a human male scholar and a number of quirky well meaning supernatural relatives? You get a rip roaring good time.

My Final Say: This novel was everything I love about para-romances! Not only did it give off twisty family hijinks vibes, but it also had a crazy great fake it-make it heat between the leads. The story, the characters, the feelings, and all the flavor that went along with this one worked.

Can I just say that I cannot wait until this story comes out as an audiobook? I want it!!!

Now, I'm wondering if more will come from this. Let's go!

Other: Readers who enjoy crazy, sexy, cool reads will love this novel.

Listed Tropes:

Let's pretend to get married! 💍

Cute, I really liked it. It was both hilarious and touching. I loved Pandora and Victor together, side characters also stood out, don’t even get me started on Vlad the Raven🖤
The book had some plot holes and left me with a couple questions at the end but it wasn’t crucial for the understanding of the plot

A vampire and a human oh my, my, my, how adorable this book was!

Pandora is working a dead end job as a barista at the coffee shop but has dreams of opening her own book store when her inheritance hits BUT Pandora soon gets the news that she won’t get her inheritance without first being married

Victor is currently is PHD student that loves to occupy the coffee shop for his regular drink. Finding out how much debt he’s in and realising he won’t be able to cover another semester he heads to the coffee shop in hopes to speak to the woman who caught his eye for one final time.

When a conversation is struck up between the two they both soon realise they can help each other out and so they struck up a deal, a fake dating soon to be engaged and married deal.

A vampire hiding her secret, a human surrounded by non humans, what could possibly go wrong?

These two have been such a joy to read about. Her family (minus a couple) had me laughing away at their antics and her best friend was a hoot, I loved how much she loved and cared about Pandora even though it goes against the norm for their kinds.

This read was quite refreshing from my usual genre but it’s just left me wanting to read some more paranormal rom coms. I think it might become one of my favorites.

This was my first read from this author and I can guarantee it won’t be my last. The writing was easily read and the storyline was fun to follow. I sure do hope there will be more from this series at some point

I sank my teeth into this book and couldn’t let go.....completely fang-tastic! HA! 🧛‍♂️

Spoiler Free Summary
In order to get her inheritance, the FMC must be married by a certain date. She hires a regular at her coffee shop to marry her. Her family is all supportive until they release that he is not a vampire.

Vibes
The banter and comedy in this book had me on the floor. The werewolf best friend and the additional vampire character were hilarious—I found myself highlighting their lines just to remember them forever.

I really enjoyed the growing relationship between the main characters, especially how committed they were to "selling" the romance to others. It made their chemistry feel genuine. The family and extended family dynamics were also a nice touch—we got to meet everyone in a way that felt natural, without being overwhelmed by side character chaos.

You can really feel the effort and yearning from both leads, which makes their final realization all the more satisfying. I’d love to see a sequel focusing on the bestie and that vampire—I need more of their antics in my life. Finally, it was great how the author addressed healthy male masculinity/protecting your partner from hate. The incident with the extremist going after the FMC and the MMC protecting her letting her know his behavior wasn't ok and that SHE IS ALLOWED TO STAND UP FOR HERSELF!

Next, the story flowed great and was medium paced.

Spice: 3/5 - Traditional, not super spicy

Tropes:
Vampire/Human relationship 🧛‍♂️
Urban Fantasy
Marriage for convenience/Hire
Modern day marriage
Million-dollar Heiress
Forbidden love

This book had everything I adore, so it was basically a win from page one- vampires, fake dating, and a slow-burn romance? An absolute treat.

As someone with a big, chaotic family, I found the portrayal of a large, meddlesome group both charming and painfully accurate. Some relatives were lovable, some were absolutely insufferable, and honestly? That tracks. The romance was flirty, fun, and well-paced, keeping me happily along for the ride. My only tiny gripe was the timeline hopping. It was very small but I did notice some time skipping and summaries to fill in the blanks, which isn’t my fave. But aside from that (and the real crime: a third act breakup)- This was a delightfully silly, cozy, and vampy fake dating adventure that left me happily entertained. Thank you Avon UK for the ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for an eARC in exchange for an honest review

This was so super cute and the ultimate flirty fake-dating vampire romance. I can't lie the whole time I was reading this, all I could think was it's basically Hotel Transylvania except it's Mavis trying to pass for a human instead of Johnny as a monster (only this had more PhDs on 18th century vampiric literature). So if that film is one of your faves, definitely pick this up!
Starting to think I'll finish up this year with a personal master-list of vampire books in all genres and when I tell you this will be top of my Romance category. Despite all the obvious fantasy books, this story doesn't feel outlandish or hard to believe because at its core it's two people falling in love - despite and because of all their eccentricities.
For another comparison, if you read A Cruel Thirst and thought wow I wish this had a modern-day cosy bookshop setting, this is your dream come true

This was so fun! At times a little wacky, but it just added to the story's charm.

Pandora's family and their quirks were the highlight of the book. Because of this, I think Pandora and Victor's love story suffered just a smidge. They had a wonderful slow burn, but I still wanted to SEE a little bit more of our two MCs falling in love, rather than just be told it as the story progressed.

If you enjoy a ridiculous plot, family shenanigans, and a sweet romance, this book if for you! A highly entertaining story, that I'm sure I'll read again and again.

3.5 stars rounded to 4. It was good, but I was waiting for it to be great. The idea was good with lots of good tropes, but just kind of missed the mark for me. One of the main issues was it felt like the story was moving very slow and it took a long time to read the book. I feel it might just one of those books it is better to read a physical copy instead of an ebook. I didn’t super like Pandora and Victor which was a bit a bummer. I did enjoy Lucy and Elias they stole the show! I loved their interactions in the book. Also, the repeated use of cleft was a vibe killer for me.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Avon Books and Jessica Gadziala for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was such great fun to read! The relationships between the characters and the setting were absolutely spot-on. The gloominess of a London coffee shop and an invitation to a human that regularly visits to drink caramel macchiato’s led to the most interesting set up.

This book definitely gave Addams family vibes - except Pandora as the Wednesday character was a lot more full of life and sunshine! Her family is huge and they all have their own eccentricities. I particularly love her aunts and immortal raven!

The plot was really well paced and was intriguing throughout. There was plenty of spice and swoon worthy romantic moments from Victor. I have to say that a standout character for me was Lucy - she was absolutely hilarious.

I really enjoyed the way that the ending panned out too. It made a lot of sense to go in this direction.

The only thing I will say is given that this book is absolutely fantastic, I don’t feel that the title of it reflects the story accurately. I understand that this was (probably) a play on the words of film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but there weren’t enough connections for me to feel that this was a title that shows how great the contents of book was and the plot itself.

This is a quick contemporary paranormal romcom between a human (MMC) and vampire (FMC). The FMC and MMC have a classic marriage of convenience, and there are lots of vampire family shenanigans because (of course) the MMC can't know the FMC is a vampire.

I do appreciate that the FMC is the vampire, as there just aren't enough girl vampires in books. This is a single POV from the FMC, and I liked her well enough. I don't have much of an impression of the MMC by the end, but most people will likely read this book for the vampire content anyway. Their romance was fine and sweet, and the third act breakup was very fairly predictable.

The writing was fine, but the constant use of "OK" in dialogue did annoy me by the end. The transitions between scenes were also a little jarring at times, and, more than once, I thought I had skipped a page accidentally or missed the scene change. The author is obviously a reader, with lots of references in novel to book community terms.

This book wasn't groundbreaking in the world of vampire romance, but they don't all need to be and it was a fun read. It seemed like there'll be another book following for the FMC's best friend (a werewolf) and another vampire, and I would likely read the next.

Thank you, Avon Books, for the arc!

This was such a cute and funny paranormal rom com! I had a smile on my face reading this. From the get go Pandora was totally obsessed with Victor, before he even made his grand entrance in the coffee shop, so I knew we were in for some juicy tension. The marriage of convenience and fake dating tropes mixed with the vampire stuff was delicious 👌🏼

Can we talk about Lucy aka the best friend ever? Loyal, hilarious, and to be honest stole the limelight in a few scenes, as did her chemistry with Elias. The enemies to lovers vibes between them were massive, and I’m pretty sure we’ll be getting a book about those two. That said, I did feel like their subplot got a lot of attention, maybe even a bit too much? At times it felt like Pandora and Victor were sidelined when I really wanted to see more of their love story.

The third act breakup definitely hit me, but it all wrapped up in a cutesy satisfying happily ever after. This book was funny! There were so many awkward moments where I kept thinking how is Pandora going to get out of this one? Overall a great vampire romcom 😊

i can’t even lie the premise of the book did interest me but what sold me was the fact that pandora looks like megan fox in jennifer’s body lol… but anyways! pandora’s mom was annoying asf by making her bring elias everywhere but it brought good banter between him and lucy so i can’t even be completely mad! (if they had a spinoff i would definitely read it)! i loved ravenna, she put so much effort into making both victor and pandora comfortable it was so heartwarming!! and although bellatrix annoyed me, the comments made about her singing made me laugh every single time (my favorite one was when pandy’s cousins thought someone was being sacrificed). it truly made me want to be there in the moment so i could fully be immersed and understand how the people in that house were suffering LOL!

thank you avon and netgalley for the arc! :)

A cozy and funny paranormal romcom for the fans of the Addams Family and Hotel Transylvania. It was fun to follow Pandora as she tries to keep her fake relationship a secret from her family and the fact that she is a vampire a secret from her fiancé - Victor, all so that she can claim her inheritance for her 125th birthday. As more and more vampire family members arrive in preparation for the wedding, shenanigans ensue, which makes for such an entertaining read. And of course the slow burn is burning, and the fake couple's feelings don't seem to be so fake after all.
A lighthearted and fun story, will be especially perfect in the fall.

This was SUCH a fun read, I found myself giggling so many times it’s not even funny - I actually almost fell off my treadmill because I was so engrossed in the book I forgot I was bloody walking on it 😂

What I think really made this book was that, whilst I was naturally invested in Pandora and Victor’s story, I was just as invested in a whole host of different side characters (I don’t think I can name drop, but there’s at least 5 that I’d love to get their own books!). Honestly there’s not a single second of this book that I didn’t enjoy ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing an arc with me, Jessica! ❤️

Victor & Pandora

This was a fun read! Love the characters & all their quirks. Pandora & Lucy have great best friend banter & energy; Victor is so reserved, but his warm heart is still on display. He's sweet, too. 💙

Pandora's family can be quite hilarious & I enjoyed them! Especially Dante - he & Pandora's sibling loyalty & bond were heartwarming to read. Elias is another character that I liked a lot - especially when he & Lucy got into their lil matches. 😄

I did wish this was a dual POV, tho. I really wanted more of Victor! The slow burn was done very well - I was engaged throughout (much like our main characters 😄). I just missed being in his head.

But, I LOVED the ending!!

oh, this was so adorable, funny, and did I mention cute? Pandora and Victor make for a great pair of main characters in this easy to digest, fake romance book that had the vampire twist wrapped into it.

I found the comedic parts hilarious and loved being introduced to Pandoras family.

my slight criticism? I would have liked a certain nasty character to have had more involvement, but I guess it was left as it was to allow for follow-up. Aside from this. I had a great time reading this.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.

A quick, quirky paranormal marriage of convenience where the bride’s a vampire and the groom’s clueless. Romcom meets vampire family chaos—major 'Hotel Transylvania' vibes in the best way.

The romance was cute but kinda flat. The MMC didn’t leave much of an impression, and the third-act breakup was predictable (and a little annoying, tbh). Still, it was light, silly, and fun—perfect for when you want a low-drama, paranormal palate cleanser.

Would I read the werewolf best friend’s spinoff? Absolutely.

Cute and funny. Perfect fall read. Slow burn romance while being fake engaged for a marriage of convenience. The extended vampire family shenanigans were so fun. And a talking undead Raven. The conflict and third act break up being that she’s a vampire is never my favorite, but I knew to expect it going in. This was an ARC from Netgalley so I did not read the finished version.

This was different, I loved the premise but the writing was a bit interesting, it read like an 80’s Mills and Boone which makes sense knowing the plot but not exactly my cup of tea.
