Was he a nude model? A stripper? An escort?
I had no idea what the tall, ripped, walking thirst trap known as Decker Steele actually did for a living, but I was determined to find out. Tenacious doesn’t even begin to cover me when I’m faced with a mystery...Especially one wrapped in such fine abs and smug grins. ~ Andi

She was my best friend's sister. My friend without benefits.
So why the hell was my faulty junk so interested? Why was I so interested? Andi Jennings was equal parts fire and innocence, an unsolvable puzzle in short shorts. But I love a challenge... especially the kind I shouldn't touch. ~ Decker

FOUR DECKER STARS.

"You were the heart I was missing from my soul, and you are the fucking future missing from my dreams."

description

Quick witted, wonderfully hilarious and so sweet I wanted to hug my kindle, 'Decker's wood' was just what I needed to make me one happy reader. I haven't been nearly so entertained in reading a book in a long time, this author has put the bounce back into my reading time and I could not have been more pleased to have read this book and met the characters, Andi and Decker. Readers prepare yourselves to fall in love with one extremely loveable pornstar and his side kick wonderfully awkward heroine. This book blew me away and I'm looking forward to other readers joining me in the 'Deckers wood' fan club.

What's it all about?
Decker Steele has it all; the women, the money, the endless sex, a lifestyle that he has always been proud of. As a famous porn star, this self confessed sex addict has always felt very at home doing his job and being a success. But when the star of his show starts to let him down and he can no longer get it up, Decker starts to panic. Former shy and awkward teenager, Andi Jennings is no longer afraid of who she once was, instead she is now proud of the woman she has become. Moving to New York she is ready to start living her dreams and make a fresh start by opening her very own bookstore and coffee shop. Andi never imagined that she would come across the very man who made her toes curl and her cheeks heat as a geeky youngster but that is just what happens when the sexy Decker welcomes her to New York. When Decker and Andi meet again their lifestyles couldn't be further apart but when they start to embark on a 'friends without benefits' relationship neither of them can quite believe when they start to want more. This twosome soon start to realise that they don't want to have to live without a friendship that is starting to feel forever but can the pornstar really fall in love with the country bumpkin?

What did I love?
A friends to lovers story with added comedy value? Where do I sign up, well readers you sign up right here. This book was fantastic It had the sexy, it had the comedy gold, it had the 'whisk me away I'm reading a book so I can forget about reality' story line, in all seriousness this book was a reading escape triumph. One of the standout winning qualities of this book had to be the friendships, most if not all of the characters were likeable in some way. I adored the hero and heroine in equal measure, the dual point of view made it very easy for me to fall in love with the storyline and each of the main characters thoughts and feelings. Everything about this book screamed read me, read me and if gay best friends, glitter, book shelf sex and potty-mouthed one liners is your cup of tea then you better be adding this to your 'To be read' list faster than you a can say 'yes please'. During this book If I wasn't smiling I was swooning and if I wasn't swooning I was gripping my kindle at the gorgeous sexual chemistry. It's fairly obvious that this author has a love for writing and enjoying what she does, I feel like I have finally found a book that translates romantic comedy right to my kindle and I'm excited that I've discovered another author whose style is right up my street. Sweet love and giggle worthy scenarios is what this book is all about and I was left with an ending just perfect for the loveable pornstar and his cowboy boot wearing country girl.

description

Why not five?
From the start this book grabbed my attention. I laughed, I swooned and I was quickly heading towards that five star feeling. Overall I loved this book, the humour, the story line and the characters were all winning points towards a high rating but somewhere in the middle of the story i lost a little love, the book started to slow down with the humour and it lost that full out fun factor that I was enjoining so much. But all in all this is a book I would recommend to friends and fellow book addicts who can't resist brilliant characters complete with a solid story line and of course the added romance and naughty bits. This author has caught my attention and I'm excited to see what else she will produce with her comedy style romance talents. 'Deckers wood' will be keeping a smile on my face for some time to come and I'm hoping that fellow readers will fall in love with Decker and Andi too.

description

Final thoughts ...
For those readers who love their romance stories to be humorous, light on the drama and extra naughty with the sexy will adore this novel. The writing style was one that I'll never tire of and as I approached the ending I felt a sadness that it was all over. This author has taken a funny but sexy storyline and made it all her own, if this is the start of what's to come from Kirsty Dallas then sign me up for her future books, I won't be missing out on this authors witty, romantic talent. Release day is just around the corner, go grab it readers. Enjoy ... Kisses.

★★★★ 4 Stars!

"If you really do love him, his past won't matter, because you're his future."

This was such a fun book! The combination of humor + romance + sexy times + limited amount of drama =

Decker's Wood is the story of Decker Steele, whose whole career pretty much consists of

As an award-winning porn star and a self-professed "pussy pounding machine", his "wood" is essential to his career. And he's damn proud of his equipment.

There's one problem though: for the past year he hasn't been able to produce "wood", unless it was pill-induced...

That is until he meets, Andi, his best friend Bradley's younger cousin who used to be a nerdy, naive teenager with glasses and braces. But, over the past 12 years Andi has turned into a beautiful, confident woman and she's the first woman whose managed to capture his (and his body's) attention in a very long time.

Andi is one of the most likeable heroines I've come across lately. She always says it like it is and doesn't cause any unnecessary drama. She's a sassy, down-to-earth girl from Texas with a quirky sense of humor and a love for books, country music and drinking games.

Aside from MC's and their hilarious banter, there are also a bunch of entertaining side characters who made me laugh-out-loud multiple times. Especially Casey & Lionel:

So if you want a fun, relaxing, feel-good standalone read (told from dual POV), look no further and give this one a try!

“Andi was forbidden fruit, and even if she wasn't, there was no way a pure country bumpkin like her could handle a self-confessed pussy pounding warrior like me.”

I must say I quite enjoyed this one. "Decker’s Pecker" as it is known to me (thanks Allison).

Yep, Decker was still the arrogant ass I remembered. He might be devilishly handsome, but he had an ego the size of Texas and then some. I had always found Decker to be one hundred percent Grade. A. top shelf, arrogant male

Andi arrived in NYC to restart her life, buying a bookshop and leaving her past in Texas.

I was a born and bred country girl
and I loved country music

Girl after my own heart.

She and Decker decide to be friends but the attraction is there. Decker has not been able to “get it up” in over a year but all that changes when he meets Andi. Yep Pecker is standing to attention

Won’t say too much. If you are looking for a lighthearted read with some LOL moments this one should work for you.

”If you really do care about him, his past won’t matter, because you’re his future.”

I'm gonna be here for you baby
I'll be a man of my word
Speak the language in a voice that you have never heard
I wanna sleep with you forever
And I wanna die in your arms
In a cabin by a meadow where the wild bees swarm

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us

I wanna honor your mother
I wanna learn from your pa
I wanna steal your attention like a bad outlaw
I wanna stand out in a crowd for you
A man among men
I wanna make your world better than it's ever been

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us

We'll follow the rainbow
Wherever the four winds blow
And there'll be a new day
Comin' your way

I'm gonna be here for you from now on
This you know somehow
You've been stretched to the limits but it's alright now
And I'm gonna make you a promise
If there's life after this
I'm gonna be there to meet you with a warm, wet kiss

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us
I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll win your trust making memories of us

She was the kind of girl a man took home to meet his mom and dad. She was the kind of girl I avoided

I loved the neighbours. A solid 3.5 star read.

3.5--Porn Star--Stars!!

This was a fun, cute read...with several LOL moments and some steam on the side. It was a little slow at times and didn't wow me, but I enjoyed it for the most part.

Decker is a porn star. A porn star with a problem. Decker can no longer get it up without the help of drugs.

Until he meets Andi.

"Would I need to picture Andi every time I wanted a drug free erection? Wouldn't that basically make Andi my new erectile dysfunction drug of choice?"

Andi is the cousin of Bradley, Decker's BFF. Decker and Andi have known each other a long time...but the last time Decker saw Andi she was a skinny, pimpled kid with braces. Now Andi has moved to town and to Decker's surprise, she is all grown up.

It's a miracle...Decker has been cured. But....

"Andi was forbidden fruit, and even if she wasn't, there was no way a pure country bumpkin like her could handle a self-confessed pussy pounding warrior like me."

So...Andi and Decker become friends. It's a definitely slow build between Decker and Andi, which was nice. Almost too slow at times....I just wanted something to happen between these two.

At first Andi has no clue that Decker is an award winning porn star. But eventually, the truth comes out. Will Andi be able to handle it?

"It had appeared I had found love in the wrong place, in an adult film star who was supposed to be my friend without benefits."

I really wasn't a fan of all of the drama at the end. IMO, Decker was an idiot.

The jury is still out on whether he was worthy of Andi.

So..in summary, I liked it but didn't love it. It's a good book if you're looking for something fun and funny. A good in-between book or after something angsty.

Country bumpkin goes from book lover to porn star's lover...

I can’t believe how much I enjoyed Decker’s Wood. I’ve had it sitting on my kindle for ages and kept putting off reading it. My friends had raved about how funny and sexy Decker was, so when it was on special I bought it with plans to read it…soon. I was hesitant to read and like a hero who is a porn star. I mean the man has EXPERIENCE. Lots and lots of experience. Could I put myself in the shoes of the heroine and picture myself having a relationship with someone who is paid to have sex? IF, you managed to get your confidence up enough to try him out, would your confidence hold up time and time again when beautiful women approach him wanting to try him out too?

So, I did it. I picked it up and started reading. At first I thought Decker was a putz and that I would be reading this for the “experience” and not necessarily my enjoyment. Then we get to know Decker and meet a little country bumpkin by the name of Andi who surprises him enough to start looking at his life and choices a bit differently. The Andi Decker meets now is very different from the young, shy teenager with her nose permanently in a book. This Andi is mature, confident and knows what she wants…sort of.

We meet some fantastic side characters in Andi’s neighbours and some of Decker’s porn mates. Bradley, who is Andi’s cousin and Decker’s best mate, brought them together. He is very close to both of them but thinks it would be a mistake to have a relationship. Decker’s family is lovable and close. They know about his career are not necessarily happy about it but love him enough to get past it.

This was a steamy read. Obviously, Decker has experience and in the first part of the story we hear a bit about his exploits. At this stage, the couple is not together so I don’t have an issue. He does have women throw themselves at him leaving Andi uncomfortable. There was one scene towards the end of the story that skated along the lines of cheating but there were twenty other things going on at that particular moment, I was distracted. By the time I realised, I had processed it and was ready to move on.

In the end I really enjoyed this story. By the time the (sort of) cheating happened, I was already in love with Decker and I was justifying and making excuses (in my head) for him. That says a lot for this story because I don’t do cheating at all. The characters were funny, sexy and lovable. We see a different side to the porn industry and who the actors really are. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

3 Making it Rise Again Stars
* * *
The idea had merit... a porn star... dating... and what do you do when the wood doesn't stand up?

Had some sweet cute moments... had some others which were predictable and in the end... everything came together. For me it read slow...there were some quotes which made the lips smile or laugh... wished there had been a little more... although I have no idea how it could have been done differently.

Jenny: Kirsty Dallas certainly delivered a sexy, sweet, romantic, steamy and funny story with a refreshingly different and entertaining spin and I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face! I had such fun reading Decker’s Wood and who would have guessed one of my favourite books of the year would centre on a man’s failure to rise to the occasion? My happy heart told me I had to give this book 5 stars because of the sheer enjoyment I had reading it! This one had it all for me, what about you Gitte?

Gitte: Absolutely, I couldn’t put it down and read it with a huge grin on my face. So many laugh out loud lines, banter and scenarios, such brilliant characters, every single one, and so many heartfelt romantic moments. It wasn’t all fun and games though which I loved also the writing was excellent. Oh and let’s not forget the heat!!! I enjoyed every second I spent engrossed in this story. It was just what I needed and the pure fact that a story could make me so happy deserves every single one of the five stars I’ve given it. This story was NOT a ‘mood hoover.’

Jenny: So true G! The happiness factor we derived from this book certainly warranted our 5 Star rating that’s for sure! Deckers conundrum had me in stitches. Decker’s depressed and his manhood has decided to take a prolonged hiatus much to the horror of our poor Decker. Being a big deal in the porn industry and having your equipment fail is a disaster of massive (no pun intended) proportions!

‘I had literally screwed myself into insanity.’

Deckers proud of his manhood, and it depresses him no end that his pecker, which practically carries its own postcode, won’t stand to attention. Bloody hell this had me giggling Gitte!

Gitte: Seriously…..I had tears from laughing. This dude and his todger issues had me crying!

‘..how does one simply ignore their flaccid member?’

Decker has the most fantastic dry sense of humour and his inner monologue about his lack of ‘hardware’ considering his profession, well it was spot on.

Jenny: But something stirs when the adorably cute Texan, Andi Jennings re-enters Decker’s life and Decker’s Pecker likes what he sees. In fact, Decker Junior (or should that be Whopper?), finds it hard (pun not intended) to stay under control when the delectable Andi is anywhere in his vicinity and even her love of Country Music can’t deter ‘him’ from popping up on a regular basis. I loved Andi. She was strong, capable and a perfect match for the cocky and completely unabashed Decker.

“Country, a sweet little thing like you couldn’t handle a man like me. I think it’s safe to say that eye fucking is as far as you and I will tangle.”

Gitte: Aaahhh Andi…the little engine that could! Who would have thought that the country girl from Decker’s past would be the one to raise the flag on his pole to full mast?

‘She had the personality of a rock…’

Certainly not Decker that’s for sure, yet she had him bring the meat and two veg to the table every time, ready to devour and be devoured. I would have liked to have sat at the table too, just saying!

‘…It was like being forced into an arranged marriage by my dick.’

I loved the depth to Andi’s character, she was so real and unabashed it was a refreshing move away from the typical heroines about at the moment! I loved her! And you’re right Jenny, our Andi was such an extremely lovable character AND she loves making mixed tapes for that special someone!!!! My kind of girl!! A perfect match for the luscious Decker Steele!!

Jenny: Yep! Andi was lovable that’s for sure! The cluelessness of Decker as a romantic really set this apart. I can’t tell you how much I loved this guy and Decker’s attempts at romance were hilarious. For him sex is sex and he has no qualms talking about sex and I mean NO qualms. Nothing is out of bounds which meant some hilarious banter ensued. To be honest, I think his lack of romantic prowess only endeared him to me more. Having said that, when our boy Decker woo’s he’s no slouch and he made my romantic heart swell…

‘Shit, I just want to be able to sit by her, hold her, cook her dinner, make her laugh.’

Gitte: This guy’s attempt at romance and comfort giving was priceless. It could have been a disaster and made him come across like a wanker…BUT…it truly didn’t. It made me want to hug him!

…He pulled me into his arms and patted me awkwardly on the shoulder.

“Shhhh, everything will be alright.” – Decker

“Oh good lord, you still suck at this,” I sobbed – Andi

There were times I was shaking my head at him, but with a smile. There were times I sighed out loud at his romantic antics, again with a smile. There were times when I thought; you idiot, but… again I had a huge smile on my face and a severe urge to hug the shit out of him. I don’t know, I just bloody loved this guy.

“What can I say, tea calms me, and I love pussy.”,

Oh yeah, he’s also a master award winning eater of……uh huh, our Decker is one passionate bloke!!

Jenny: Haha! Passionate is one word for it! What a fun read this was and our text messages were in overdrive weren’t they? So many highlights that still have us chuckling. I absolutely loved this book! All characters added so much to the story and the dual pov’s were spot on. Kirsty Dallas really nailed Decker’s POV especially and I would go so far as to say his was one of my favourite male pov’s to date, don’t you think Gitte?

Gitte: She absolutely nailed the male POV, Jenny, one of the best I’ve read by a mile! I was picturing him as he spoke and it was a completely male voice in my head. At no stage did I cringe or think it was over the top! And like you said, all the characters had such strong presence, I fell in love with Casey and Lionel too. Oh and even Decker’s parents had me giggling!!

“It’s a normal male response. Pussy gets close, dick gets hard. It’s how we keep you women happy and satisfied.”

I just think this story ticked all the boxes. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I will never look at the rotor blades of a helicopter in the same light ever again. I’m laughing all over again…..

J&G: If you’re after a steamy, feel good romance that will sweep you off your feet while wiping tears of laughter from your face then grab this book!

We’ll leave the final words to Decker Steele and will in some way explain how we fell head over heels for this gorgeous, sexy and completely unabashed man! Take it away Decker!

‘I don’t know what love is, but if it’s thinking of her from the moment I was till the moment I sleep, then I do. If it’s reading her text messages over and over like a sappy moron teenager, then I do. If it’s smiling from merely the sound of her voice, hell yeah, I do. I want to sit by her, hold her, dance with her on the fucking rooftop as the sun sets. I want to wake with her in my arms, her scent on my skin. If that’s love, I’m fucking diseased with it.’

So after reading a few dark themed books, I thought this would be the perfect light and smutty read to cleanse my palate. I really like books about characters (mostly male) who are involved in the sex industry. Although this wasn't horrible, I just found myself cringing at some of the words and phrases used, and the heroine annoyed me to no end.

Decker Steele has been working in porn for the last twelve years. This last year has been quite an anomaly for him. For someone who can bang ladies for hours, no matter where or how, Decker suddenly cannot get it up anymore. The only way he has been able to have sex is with the help of a little blue pill.

With the arrival of his best friends' cousin, Andi, his "manhood" (and I quote this because it was used several times) seems to be coming back to life when it comes to the woman who used to be the shy, brace-faced, bookworm.

The two start a "friends without benefits" relationship, but the two can't deny the attraction that is there. Andi has always had a crush on the man whore girl magnet, and Decker is loving how care free and light he feels whenever he is in her presence.

 photo imagejpg3_zpsdfa8f0b7.jpg

Even though the plot is a little on the cheesy side, if there is good humor involved, I think it could still be a winner. There were some things that were said and things that occurred, that I admit, gave me a smile or even a small giggle. Simultaneously, I liked and didn't like the humor. I admit I can be quite juvenile sometimes, but the funny things, for the most part, weren't my scene.

The heroine was the biggest downfall for me. She had her cute quirks, but I still just found her to be immature and some of the things said were met with eye rolls, cringes, and face palms. Here's one of my favorites...

"He was huge, like a heavy, hot piece of wood shoved right up against my pinky pie."

I think I stuck it out for as long as I did was because I love me some sexual tension. So I waited out until the scene where they finally got busy before I jumped ship. And even though Decker could be arrogant and said some shudder-worthy things, I still liked his voice for the most part.

I saw this was noted as a GR Best Humor nominee, so it could have just been me, and what I think is humorous. I just couldn't find myself finishing. As with most of us, our time is valuable and we want to spend that time enjoying what we read.

No clue if I would recommend or not.

**Synopsis:**
Decker has been a porn star for the last twelve years and for the past year his pecker has needed Viagra to rise to the occasion. He’s frustrated and confused about the situation, and doesn’t know what to do to fix his rather large problem. But no need to worry, one look at Andi and it appears all is well in the penile rising area.

** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
- most reviews I read said this was hilarious. Did I read the same book? I’m not sure what comedy others saw in this story that I didn’t.

- I wasn’t really a fan of Decker. It wasnt about his career choice, but rather his overall attitude. He had a high opinion of his bedroom skills and the accolades that came with being a porn star. His introduction at the start of the book made him seem selfish and a little pathetic. I never really overcame my first opinion of him.

- After Decker’s major F-up he wallows for 3 weeks in his own pity party and does nothing to try to win her back. It’s not until his friends and his mom show up to push him does he begin to even start to think about his grovel. This didn’t win him any points with me

- Andi forgave too quickly.

- the writing was good and the words flowed well.

- this was ok, but I wasn’t blown away. I think my low opinion of the H ruined the story for me.

**Overview:**
- Trigger warning: none
- Setting: SoHo, New York
- POV: Dual POV
- Who is the Hero? Decker, age 32. Porn star. I didn’t really like him
- Who is the Heroine? Andi, age 28. Bookstore owner. I liked her
- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 54%
- First time they sleep together: 57%
- steamy? Bedroom scenes were descriptive
- OW/OM drama? A little
- H/h cheat? In my opinion, yes. Although he didn’t go “all the way” he definitely allowed someone else to handle his “member” 🍆
- Time apart? 3 weeks
- Did I skip pages? Yes
- Big secrets? yes. Although Andi finds out about Deckers profession early, there is something else Decker is hiding and Andi finally finds out around 83%
- Did I cry? No
- Did I laugh? No
- Did I swoon? No
- Cliffhanger? No
- HEA? HFN
- Epilogue? 12 months later
- Recommend? Not really

This book was like a breath of fresh air.
In today's book world it seems that everything has to be drawn out into a trilogy. With cliffhangers.

Decker's Wood however was like watching a sexy funny romantic comedy.

It had an amazing cast
 photo DW_zps47289a16.jpg
I loved them all! All added to the story.

a great storyline.
Yep you read it right a porn star who's equipment has decided it doesn't want to work anymore!
That is until a country bumkin Andi rocks up to NYC.

It seems little decker only works when he thinks of Andi.

Yes there is ups and downs in this book like with everything.

But it finish's with a wonderful HEA.

A lot of LOL moments.

A few serious scenes... although Decker trying to comfort her had me giggling out loud!

Oh and some VERY sexy sex scenes.. I mean come on.. Decker has won AWARDS for eating a girl out! As if the sex scenes weren't going to be awesome!

This was my first book by Kirsty, and although I've been told her other stories are very different. I liked the writing style so will check them out fo'so!

This book brought smiles to my face, heat to my flesh and tears to my eyes. I loved it!

These are just a few of my favorite moments with Andi and Decker.

"I had been called every name in the book at least once in my life. Sticks and stones may break my bones but a quick punch to your face will soothe me."

I really didn’t take you for a cat kinda guy though,” she mused. “Or tea. I think you’ve been influenced too heavily by Bradley and his English addiction.” I shrugged . “What can I say, tea calms me, and I love pussy.”

“Spandex is a privilege, not a right. So while I’m privileged enough to pull it off, I might as well. And, as I recall, you don’t mind when I play with your bone."

“You must think I’m plumb crazy.” I smiled. “Well, you do listen to country music.”

I don’t know what went wrong, Andi won’t say, but she’s broken, Decker. You broke her. She was a ray of light that you switched off.”

Bradley and Leah stared at me as if I’d just grown a penis on my forehead. It was entirely possible, after all, I was the world’s biggest dickhead.

With a soft kiss placed right under my ear, he whispered, “It’s for you Andi, only you.”

I think I've fallen in love with a porn-star.

Yeah, that's absolutely one sentence that I never imagined coming out of my mouth, but oh man - how can one not fall in love with Decker Steele??

When I offered to read the arc, I seriously had doubts as to what I was in store for with this book.  How could I not when the synopsis is:

Decker Steele is the Pornography Associations award
winning, money making machine. But what does a self-confessed, pussy pounding
warrior do when his prized package begins to fail? Freak the 'F' out, that's
what!

Andi Jennings is the socially inept, geeky and
awkward cousin of Decker's best friend. Only she's not so geeky and awkward
anymore. Now she's a smokin' hot country bumpkin, with a smokey voice made for
phone sex, and a pair of hot as hell cowboy boots. Everyone adores her, my porn
star buddies, my mom and dad, my 'equipment'.

So, the prized package isn't so failing
anymore, the catch is, it will only perform for Andi...My friend WITHOUT
benefits.

I was totally prejudiced thinking it would be all smut - no story.  But, I figured, what the heck - I know it'll be funny.  Well, let me say that the book was way more than funny, I loved the story - all the characters - and especially the ending.

Decker was such a charmer, he's the boy next door who just so happens to be a porn star.  The past year, he hasn't been working, considering changing professions - especially since he's been having a problem getting "it" up without a little blue pill.  Or he "was" having a problem, until Andi, and old friend of his cousin, moved to NYC to open up her own bookstore.  After seeing her for the first time in twelve years - with braces off, head out of a book, and curves of a woman - suddenly his "equipment" was all fixed and ready for action!

Andi had crushed on Decker since she was a teenager - and seeing him for the first time after all these years, well he only got better.  She knows he's a player, and he's very elusive as to what he does for a living.  As these two reconnect, becoming friends they fight the underlying sexual tension that constantly smacks them in the face.  Decker is afraid to cross the line, he doesn't feel like he's deserving of Andi at all.  And once Andi discovers what his career was, she's accepting of it, as a friend only.

I absolutely loved their relationship together, including his corny nickname of "Country" for her, but especially all their playfulness they had together.  There were so many great moments between these two in the book - and I know all of you who read this already - you have to agree with me the "helicopter" moment is the very best!!  I want to see Decker do that for myself!

The secondary characters in this book, were just as charming and unexpected as ever.  My favorites though were Casey and Lionel, those two just cracked me up - all the visions of Casey in spandex!  But, w hat surprised me the most, and in the best way possible, was that characters who I would have thought to have acted a certain way, didn't - totally surprising me, and made the book all that more better.  This is definitely a book you should all give a try!

Let me start with the negative and end with the positive.

I absolutely hate the cover. It was one of those things that almost made me “NOT” read the book.

I mean, if your thinking lumberjack and a cosy cottage it will do but this is not what I have in mind when thinking “Decker Steele”. Am I alone in my assessment here? Hell even a picture of a bookstore front would have been better. On closer inspection I have no issues with the guy but let’s face it, covers are what often draw your eye and my friend had to persuade me to give this a try because it’s much better than it looks to be on the outside.

Enough said about that then, so let’s move on to the story.

This was one of those books that made me burst out in spontaneous laughter at random times.

There is really not much else to say than that I enjoyed it a hell of a lot. I loved both of the main characters. Decker was something else, and I guess what I found shocking but refreshing was the fact that he actually didn’t make excuses for his line of work. He liked what he did and so deal with it. That being said, I also liked the way he came to the conclusion that she was more important to him than his choice of income.

The story was sweet, and funny and who didn’t just love the next door neighbours?!! I mean, spandex and Will and Grace? Really, it was hilariously funny and just all together feel good.

It exceeded my expectations, as noted in the “negative” paragraph to not be that high at all. I loved it, and it’s something I would recommend with a smile.

The title of this is sheer genius - I assumed Decker' s wood was a place, but no. Actually Decker is a porn performer who, after ten years in the business, doing the business, has become bored with sex and can no longer rise to the occasion.

Andi has just moved to NYC from the Texas countryside, setting up a bookshop business. She's known Decker through her family since she was a child. He is asked to look out for her, big brother style, by his best friend who also happens to be Andi' s cousin.

Andi is a great character - a country girl with sass, a sense of humour and a long line in witty put downs. The banter between Decker and Andi had me laughing away a few times, there was some witty and original material in here. It made for such a warm and fuzzy read.

The romance builds gradually, there's no implausible insta-love in this. They had great chemistry and the smut was hot.

There's a little angst and conflict towards the end which kept me reading avidly, but this is a complete story and a standalone. Recommended.

This book falls into my "Seriously?!?" category. I thought, based on the title, this would be a lot funnier than it was. I wanted to like the hero. I really did. And parts of him were likable, but I just couldn't get past a few things that I can't specifically mention without spoiling the book. There were way too many, "oh, come the fuck on...." moments in the book. Those, coupled with the grammatical errors, were a bit too much for me. Andi - the heroine - annoyed me beyond anything. She was weakly developed and a little clichéd for me. But, I'm tossing this book in with my Slade review. It wasn't awful, and maybe I just didn't like it cause porn stars aren't my thing.

The plot was interesting, I liked the concept of having a porn star in but I didn't reading it LOL especially sex with other caiman besides the heroine. Yeah, I am kinda weirdo and romance addict.

Anyway Decker was thumbs up character along with our cowgirl Andi. I enjoyed certain parts of the story.

If you in a mood of porn star, go for it. But it wasn't my kind of read :)

Happy reading

I will say one thing, this story was funny but it just did not work for me....

First of all I didn't think the characters had much of a personality, at all. Decker was too self important and bland, while Andi's personality just seemed bland and forced.

There was no relationship development to me. He had trouble with E.D. then sees her, that's it, first sight and now all of a sudden he doesn't have E.D. but only concerning her?!? Yeah not buying it. I mean it was stressed that his E.D. was a psychological cause so there should've been some build up there. And his whole thought process was centered around his privates, so that left no room for any type of development in the relationship area it seemed. Then from her perspective it was all "oh he is hot" and that is pretty much it, so no development there either. There was also all this talk of them knowing each other in the past but it never really showed it. Just like "oh we have a past" and all the while you are like...ummmmm ok, so show me then.

I couldn't connect with the characters, at all. It had nothing to do with the story, the "porn star" and everything to do with what I previously stated....the development. It was lacking from my perspective.

Then Decker is supposed to be this all big porn star who is great in bed and all of that, so when the sex scene finally came in this story it fell incredibly flat. It was not even exciting for me, just....meh.

All around, this just....I don't know what to say....Disappointed me, I guess?

LOVE IT
5 "Pretty Dick" STARS

Standalone - Favorite
I absolutely loved this story!!! In a market heavy with dark romance and
arrogant alpha males it was refreshing to read a witty, light hearted
romance with a male lead that oozed confidence, not arrogance. There was
plenty of "sexy time" but not so much that it consumed the story and of
course there was the all-important HEA.
Decker's Wood had me hooked from the start and never lost me. I smiled,
laughed, sighed dreamily and laughed some more, leaving me with an achy face (in a good way).
Decker Steele - ruggedly handsome, pure masculine beauty, confident,
spontaneous and successful.
Andi Jennings - Innocent, quirky, country bumpkin that likes to laugh and be herself, this girl keeps it real.
The banter between these two characters is comical which makes it such a fun read and as always, Kirsty brings a cast of secondary characters who add to the witty banter and help complete the story.
Go 1-click this baby as it most definitely will not disappoint!

I was so excited to read this novel, well, who doesn't want to read about porn star stories?! I like this kind of story coz it's exciting, fun and a little drama.

The story started okay, but then, I found myself skipping sentences, then paragraphs, then pages, then I ended up reading the conversations alone...

I didn't find anything exciting, the moment she realized that he's a porn star and she was quite fine with it, I lost interest but kept on reading coz I was waiting for this BAM! moment, but Nada....

Meet Decker Steele, Porn star and all around celebrity of the adult entertainment industry. Decker has a little problem though; at 32 and after 12 years at the top of his game, the recipient of the Male Performer of the Year for 4 years running can no longer get it up.

Yes that's right, the illustrious porn star has turned into a Viagra junkie both on and off screen and in all honesty is sick of the sight of a vagina. He hides it well and has stepped behind the camera over the last year to cover up his dysfunctional tool of the trade.

Feeling depressed and throwing his own pity party, he agrees to pick up his best friend Bradley's cousin from the airport. He hasn't seen dorky, awkward Andrea in 13 years and isn't looking forward to playing babysitter to the Texan as she arrives in New York to start a new life and set up a bookshop in SoHo.

However when Andi (as she now likes to be called) arrives, she is no longer the girl in braces with wild red hair. This women is a knockout, but most importantly, he feels a stirring in his groin that he thought had been lost forever.

Why is a girl he has known for years suddenly got his equipment sparking again? and if he can get it up for her, surely he can get it up for work?

Andi has moved to New York to finally start living her life. Setting up a bookshop has always been a dream but one that is now becoming reality. Having always been an awkward teenager, she has turned into a confident young woman; seeing her teenage crush Decker brings back the memories of summers years ago when she dreamed that he would one day want her instead of the pretty and slutty girls that she often found him banging away at under the pier.

Andi wants him, but surely its better to remain friends without benefits? Once a womaniser, always a womaniser?

What will happen to the friendship they build once Andi finds out what Decker does for a living? well folks, you are just going to have to read it and find out.

I freaking loved this book, it came at such a good time for me. A lot of books being released or those I have recently read are either dark, gritty or full of angst. I love those books but sometimes you need something the complete opposite; Decker's Wood is that book.

All the characters in this book are just awesome. Told in alternating POV's you won't find any heavy shit here; just down to earth, everyday people and it was a breath of fresh air to be honest.

Decker is just fab. completely emotionally stunted due to 12 years in the porn industry; after years of avoiding dating due to his choice of work, his man bits have finally said ENOUGH! The friendship he soon develops with Andi is all new to him and for the first time ever he actually wants to pursue something with a woman; even if it does mess with his head

Andi is a perfect Texan oozing southern charm. Fun, witty and full of charm; she is completely unaware of how attractive she is and believes it best all round if she keeps Decker securely in the friend zone. This doesn't stop her having her fantasies though. Her sense of humour rocks; often covering up her feelings for Decker.

I have to though also mention the secondary characters; in particular Casey and Lionel, Andi's neighbours. They are an absolute hoot and provide many LOL moments, especially when it comes to Vanessa the undresser.

I seriously cannot recommend this book enough. It is light, very funny and surprisingly not jammed packed with unnecessary sex scenes. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes are hot, but not over the top and actually take a back seat to the story. For me this book was all about the dialogue. It was witty and the one liners were just brilliant; the writing style is excellent and I commend Ms Dallas for it.

My only issue (and this is a personal one as you will see) is that the cover model is my younger brother's doppelganger. Eww! needless to say My Decker doesn't look like the model ;)

If you enjoyed books like Wallbanger for humour you will love this (although in my opinion this is even better) A perfect book to lie on the beach with this summer :)

A MUST READ!!

Call me a closet prude, but I never though I would fall in love with a porn star.

But then how can I not? With Decker suffering a certain "dysfunction" one would think porn stars are all shallow people, maybe some are. But Decker isn't. He is sweet, very thoughtful, loving, or maybe it's because he has found the person that makes him "feel" things down below again?

Decker Steele had it made...Penthouse apartment, VIP parties, girls on tap. You see, Decker Steele is the Pornography Associations award winning, money making machine. But what does a self-confessed, pussy pounding warrior do when his prized package begins to fail? Freak the 'F' out, that's what

Andi, Decker's best friend's cousin. Sweet shy Andi with braces who Decker has known since she was on her "awkward ugly duckling phase" Hand's off by rule.

I love how simple and exciting their connection restarted. Right from the moment Decker saw Andi again, he felt alive in more ways than one. I love how this book is not all about sex. One would expect to see or read a lot of sex on this book considering the main character is a porn star, not that I'm saying there isn't coz there are. The scenes were very tastefully done and Hot. I love their banter, their thoughtfulness towards each other. A lot of funny and aww moments. Giddy makes you want to jump and ride the moments.

There's a certain scene where a porn star and an ex porn star said that makes this book so real. I love her to bits because of what she said. and I hope Kirsty will write something good for her too because I feel she deserves it too. All the supporting characters makes this book more enjoyable and heartwarming.

Thank you Kirsty for gifting me with an ARC of Decker's Wood. With all the drama surrounding our lives, We need stories like Decker's Wood to entertain, to liven our lives. This book definitely left me feeling lighter, giddy with smile on my face from the start till the end. In fact, after writing this review, I want to read Decker's wood all over again!

I recommend you guys to read this once it is published.

I don't really need to do a summary because the blurb does a pretty good job of summing up the jist of the story. If you're looking for an easy read with little to no angst I'd say this is a pretty good choice. I will, however, say I would have liked to see a bit more groveling at the end of the book. I would have liked to have seen a bit of a fight from but nevertheless it was still an enjoyable story.

FYI KIRSTY DALLAS men who wear flip flops with jeans are a HUGE NO NO !

I also don't enjoy reading about the hero having sex with other women (regardless of it's before the H/h are together) or thinking about how beautiful other women are. I like my hero's unrealistic and completely obsessed with the heroine regardless of whether he can't pop wood over said beautiful women.
