A Series of Unfortunate Events

A series of Unfortunate Events: The Blank Book

Rate this book

This may look like just another book in Lemony Snicket's wretched series. Looks are deceiving.

Just as Lemony Snicket has spent years researching the distressing lives of the Baudelaire orphans, now you too can record your own unfortunate events. The blank pages of this fraudulent book are perfect for writing down any secretive and upsetting research of your own, including the names of suspicious teachers; secret codes you have devised; details of sinister conversations you have overheard; maps of places that are important to you, and other crucial and woeful information.

With cover art by Brett Helquist, a beautifully designed interior, a page of black-and-white stickers, and quotations from A Series of Unfortunate Events, this journal is the perfect way for fans of Lemony Snicket to begin documenting their own alarming lives.

Possibly the best of the Unfortunate books, if only because it contains all the best lines, without all that depressing story getting in the way.

I suppose this is a mockery of a review, considering it is essentially a blank book. In this, I intend to write a review of basically every blank book that allows free space that can be filled with words.

I shall first explain my use of this wonderful little book. When first purchasing this, I had no plans, no ideas toward what would fill its pages. In the end, I began the long dreaded beginning to a book I have long been writing. Sufficient enough use if I do say so myself. Considering I now have a place to dedicate to a particular topic, I think it has granted me with more motivation toward writing it.

Even with every word composed by man, I cannot ever hope to explain the pure beauty that lies within a blank page. When speaking of the highest levels of potential, one should think of a blank piece of parchment. The things that can fill that empty space is something that could never compare to the material objects of today. The blank page has the potential to complete or utterly destroy a person.

As a writer, I think only those who are willing to spend hours staring at a page before beginning could ever understand. With so little in this world that can compete, I must say without a doubt that a blank page could harbor the center of my whole life and I shall never appreciate an object more than I do this.

I just bought this book for the quotes at the bottom of the pages. This author cracks me up and some of the quotes were hysterical

This really isn't a novel. It's basically a journal with quotes on the pages.

I thought it's going to be another book whioe there's a trick in it as you expect from Snicket. But it's exactly a blank book with quotes from ASOUE at the bottom of pages.
It's either 5 out of 5 or no rating, I can't decide.

Just a simple journal, which I kept for a short time from ages 11-13. I cringe to think of the things inside mine, but it's a memory I still look on fondly.

Well I guess you could say I read the quotes at the foot of some pages?
I love this book with all my heart, regardless.

I had one of these when I was a kid. It's just a black lined journal with stickers and Snicket quotes. Overpriced cheesy diary.

This book is, literally, *blank*
It's meant to be used as a journal; each page is illustrated and contains a quote from the ASoUE books. There are some nice stickers related to the story as well. If you a fan of the series, you'll enjoy it.

This is actually a blank book with funny or interesting quotes on the bottom of the pages (which you can find on my quote pages, hint hint, ;) wink ;) wink). It also has stickers in the back that have Series of Unfortunate Events pictures and things like "The world is quiet here", "Curious Mystery", and all sorts of "Lemony Snicket" things. This is my second favorite journal so far :)

Quickest book I've ever read haha.. nah its actually a journal to write your own unfortunate events!

Not exactly my cup of tea but a great themed journal for a younger age group that is interested in the series.
