Until Next Time
Dear Author,
Fuck, this was supposed to be such a simple assignment. Get in, get the information and get the hell out. It should have been a piece a cake but I just couldn’t resist getting a closer look at the guy. There’s just something about him that sets me on edge. He was prey that I enjoyed stalking. Whether to kill or fuck I wasn’t sure. How the hell did he get the upper hand? Instead of being the predator I’m suddenly the prey. I may be bound, but I’m never helpless. It seems I may have finally met my match, and I’m going to enjoy teaching him a lesson he’ll never forget.

Okay. This author takes the prompt and makes it a hot little number featuring spies vs. P.I.-badass. Sprinkle snark, cool ass code names (Hawk, Spider, GREMLIN?), a twisted enemy to lover twist, hot sex, rope play and rimming to make "Until Next Time".
I wish this was longer. The band of do-gooders seem like a fun bunch but it took me a little bit to get into them. There was no angry sex as requested BUT the sex that happens...*bites lip*
3.5 Stars but I'll round up because it's sexy fun

This reminded me of S.E. Jakes' Free Falling. Plenty of tension and smutty goodness for such a short story. There was a definite mood here: edgy, unsettled. Forget the roses. Adrenaline trumps with two alpha males determined to win.

Special Ops guys and the games they play. Steamy, sexy, but the prompt asked for angry sex and I just didn't see that. Nonetheless, this is a fun interlude.

This LL Event is seriously distracting. C'mon you can't expect me to ignore a story with a prompt pic like that!

Plus, it's very short. Too short. I think this author could conceivably turn this into something with more sexy spy shenanigans, please. It is called Until Next time. Just sayin.
The snarky repartee is a delight. The spy names are amusing. I always give props for a good song reference or a glory hole mention. *shrug*
It's a quick, hot likable addition to the 2014 LL event, probably 2.5 stars rounded up. Thanks to the author for participating.

Contemporary story of a team of agents of some sort pitting their wits against a jewel thief... only for the team leader, Hawk, to be caught and injected with something to knock him out. When he comes round the thief, Spider, has him tied up and suspended from the ceiling. To say any more would leave huge spoilers but there is a good twist to the story.
This story is very short - like under 5000 words - which given that it feels complete, has humour, snark, hotness and a good storyline is one hell of an achievement. Possibly one of my favourites so far.

I loved Xara's story last year, and this one is even better as far as I'm concerned. It's also about half the length, so whoa, way to handle a short story. This is the story of Hawk going after Spider, and what happens when the spider is a badass. There's a twist, there's humor (that song, damn it, I'm humming it even now) and there's the thought, if not the promise, of more. Very well done short story, excellent work by XXX.

I absolutely loved this story - it's my favourite so far from the Love's Landscapes event. It was hot and awesome and so well written. The chemistry between the two MCs was off the charts. It left me wanting more!! God, I could read a full length novel about these characters. Hell, I could read an entire series about them. Brilliant! I'll definitely be revisiting the story. Thank you so much Xara for writing this and for participating in this event :)

They are perfect for describing this short. I really would have loved this to be a longer book, a novel or at least a novella.

This is a hard one for me to rate. The biggest reason being that all I could think while reading it was about M. Chandler's Morning Star series, it's one of my favorites. This was a little too similar for my tastes, but I did still like the characters.
Hawk has been chasing the thief Spider for years. He and his team are on the trail of Spider and one more of his thefts. Of course the wily thief always seems to be one step ahead of them.
And then things take a fun and kinky twist of course. I did enjoy that Hawk and Spider had been hiding their relationship for years. They've got quite the fun game going. Hawk's team was entertaining in the little bit that we saw of them.
I do wish this short had been longer. I really would have enjoyed getting to know these characters better and seeing where Hawk and Spider's relationship spins out. :D

Ha! I'd totally read an entire novel where Spider keeps leading Hawk on wild goose chases just to give them an excuse to have hot & kinky sex. (In my head they're like naughty pre-arrest versions of Neal & Peter. Only gay.)

I thought this was a really fun, hot teaser of a story. I enjoyed the little notes of humor that were woven in, and the story line had my interest.
My problem? I wanted more. I desperately craved more of these character and their back story, and would certainly read more if the author decided to write more about them.

This is one hot little number. The thief and the undercover dude. I'm not sure if he worked for insurance companies, the FBI or who, but the chase is on. Very hot sex scene. These two and this storyline would make a fun novel.

I love how these group writing events have led me to such a wide variety of authors and stories. This was a great little number inspired by a very hot and kinky picture. It had cool character names, some humor, and definitely some heat. It was enough to whet the appetite and leave me wanting more.

This was sweet and a good example of the kind of good stories that came out of the Don’t Read in the Closet events. The interaction between the MCs was cute although the changeover happened slightly faster than I would have liked. I wanted a little more BDSM. It was mostly ropes which I love.

Short and hot with an unexpected twist in the end.
Hawk is the leader of a bunch of agents/spies/PIs (it's a bit unclear, but they're the good guys). They have been chasing Spider, a renowned thief for a couple of years, and now they have a new lead.
But when Hawk's close to grabbing Spider
My main concern is that it was a bit lacking in details with Hawk's crew. It was pretty diffusing with so many characters in so few pages. By the end I still felt a bit unclear about who they were, and why they needed code-names for each other.
Hawk and Spider was hot together, but I think this story would have benefited from being longer so we could have gotten more details and background.
