1 book22 followersDerick Shawn Farris was born with an extreme imagination. Being an only child he had to create different worlds and people throughout his childhood. He tried to manifest his creative gene through many avenues. He first tried his hand in drawing but his mind and hand could not translate onto paper. He also has had stints in acting and in the music industry as well. He constantly hit mild milestones but never achieved his goals until writing.
In secondary school he always won competitions and was even published a few times. His work although praised never garnered much dedication from its author. One day after being bored he decided to just write to pass time; this became a release then enjoyment in the young author’s life. He continued to hone in on his craft until he decided to write his first book, Forgetting My First Love.
Derick writes modern Christian Romance stories that depict a realistic take on the dating, marriage, and divorce in the Christian Religion in the 21st Century. He strongly believes “Dating has become a Disney Fantasy; but that’s not real life.” He wants to write encouraging stories based in a modern reality that tug at the heart of the reader.
He also writes horror and what he likes to entitle Christian Horror. This is usually a protagonist battling against the pits of hells and its minions. Derick has a fascination with Angels and Demons has pursues the study of them frequently.
This writer is unique because his stories are never clichés but rather unexpected; he keeps his readers wanting more. He lets his imagination crafts a story for all to enjoy.
