When I was considering publishing my first book I wish I had been able to find a cheap and short article like this one. I needed a brief overview of the publishing business from the perspective of a first-time author, not a career author or a suspected scam artist. I needed some honest and straightforward advice. This short article would have helped me to make more informed decisions.In this article you will find a short overview of the most common Publishing venues. I then share my specific experiences, pros and cons, of working with one "hybrid" publisher. I also share some of my lessons learned working with Kindle direct publishing and Createspace.com. I end with some straightforward advice, Given from the heart. I'm sure there are some experts that will disagree with me, but this article is written with Honesty and in the spirit of sharing.
