Heidi & The Kiaser

Heidi is an average Jane doing an average job as a plebian in a not so average, high end fashion House. Her desire is to be a top fashion designer, but she hates her job.
She’s frustrated with her current list of tasks (fetching coffee) and thoughts of how long it will take to reach her goal. World known designer, Mr. Kaiser is the CEO of the fashion house. He’s polished, handsome, an Alpha male in textbook format.
Heidi accidently spills coffee on Mr. CEO Perfect Kaiser’s pants which brings a punishment (spanking) and an opportunity, for he offers her a job to be his assistant. Thus begins an entirely new and unimagined chapter in her life. She’s scared, titillated, and sees this as an opportunity for him to see what she can do in the fashion world. It’s offer she couldn’t refuse.
The story has its challenges involving stolen fashion designs and power and relinquishment struggles with BDSM behaviors between the two characters. This reminded me a lot of the movie, Secretary, with James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. James Spader’s character is the CEO of a company, and his name is Mr. Grey. Ring a bell?
It should you Fifty Shades of Grey fans. Maggie’s character is his newly hired secretary. Their BDSM relationship is interesting and satisfying to both, as is Heidi & Mr. Kaiser’s new found relationship. It’s a steamy invigorating short story we think you’ll have fun reading.

This book was HOT. It gave me everything I wanted in a novel; a good story line that was different, a hot alpha male and steamy sex that made me want to jump on the pages and take Marcy’s place. I love that the author portrayed Marcy as a strong woman. Sure she had her issues, but she wasn’t broken like most of the women we see in this genre.
I liked the balance that the author maintained between the characters, they fed off of each other and one wasn’t in more control than the other. Well maybe a little bit . There was a good give and take between Jax and Marcy and there were a few times that I thought she would turn the tables on him and have him submitting to her.

Five years later, he realizes he was being used. Layla blatantly participated in a sex tape that had been leaked to the press and all hell was about to break loose. She was always doing things that he found he had to do damage control for her reputation. The embarrassment and the betrayal are almost too much for Tristan to bear. He has to get away.
Cami leaves her home in Phoenix to escape the betrayal of her own boyfriend who has cheated on her, yet again. She flies to a remote island to pull herself together without the distractions and persuasions of the rest of the world. Meanwhile Tristan is fleeing his life in LA while he waits for the fallout of Layla’s scandal to pass. He too flies out to a remote island to avoid the press and just to be free to be himself for a while. Fortunately fate brings them together in this luxurious place. They can’t bank on the press or public relations specialists to sugar coat them to others as they are presented.
They can’t rely on anything or anyone else to reveal their character. Only they can. To Tristan, Cami is an “angel” and she’s not like the others. No, far from it. She’s authentic and unafraid and Tristan likes that, a lot. Tristan is Cami’s long time celebrity crush! She’s excited but she must play it cool and not be all caught up in his fame, like anyone else would be. Sparks begin to fly immediately between them and this makes for a very steamy filled book. Thank goodness!
We enjoyed this book so much. They are unique characters and we kept playing this as a movie in our heads. The song “Can’t Buy Me Love” kept sounding in our minds tii, for with all that these two had, it wasn’t what they really needed.
Will Cami and Tristan be able to put their past behind them and find love in each other? Will they be able to trust each other so much, put down their walls and let the love in? We’ll be reading the sequel to this!

It isn’t until Grace decides she might need help, that she meets Ben. Can these two characters work together to overcome their demons, or will the demons conquer all in the end?
I thought that this book was beautifully written. I didn’t feel uncomfortable at any point while reading like I thought I would have. The author does a great job depicting the vulnerability and paranoia of a rape victim.
Ben isn’t flying in to save the day, he helps Grace. He makes her believe that what happened to her isn’t her fault, she wasn’t asking for it. He helps her see that life can go on after her rape. Ben gives Grace the hope that she can become a stronger person. Much like a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, Grace changes from a scared, paranoid victim to a beautiful, brave woman.
Ben is a sweet, warm and caring man. He uses his pain to help others on a daily basis. As much as he helps Grace, she helps him too. They realize that they need one another to help heal. Amidst their healing they begin to develop a romance that only grows as they grow stronger.
Overall, I enjoyed the characters and flow of this story. It started off a little slow for me in the beginning but once it picked up I wasn’t able to put it down. I have to say, the cover is beautiful, if I wasn’t reading this for a review I would purchase the book on the cover alone. It really symbolizes Grace and her journey on the path to recovery.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has felt that they were a victim in some way. Maybe you have dealt with the pain and overcome your issues, but if you haven’t and you are like Grace, this book may help you become the butterfly you were meant to be.

Stephanie and Jenny are headed to one of those fun Murder Mystery Halloween parties at an estate in the country, for the weekend. They are excited about the weekend to come and Lucy Felthouse did a great job of setting the stage.
She uses great detail and evokes genuine feelings about the tension and nervousness this type of environment can evoke. While there, the girls really rely on comforting each other for comfort and to expend their nervous energy.
This book is a quickie and a goodie. It’s fun, it’s exciting and Lucy is gloriously vivid with her writing.
Don't pass this up. I highly recommend it!

When I read the synopsis of this book I thought, oh I’ve seen this concept before. Virgin tired of waiting and auctions her virginity to the highest bidder. Granted it ended up with said virgin in a body bag, but none the less, I was intrigued.
Mia is a strong, beautiful and smart woman with issues in her past. Her mom has cancer, she has no father and she is struggling with the fact that she was sexually assaulted as a teenager. If it wasn’t for her best friend Heath, her love of gaming and her desire to become a doctor, she probably wouldn’t get through the day.
It’s no question that the lucky man to deflower Ms. Mia is going to be super rich, (he pays ½ a million dollars) and crazy gorgeous. What surprises Mia is that this gorgeous man is a gaming architect. Adam Drake isn’t your typical dominating alpha male. We can tell from the beginning that he is attracted to Mia. He knows what he wants and isn’t going to stop until he gets it.
For me, this book started a little slow with the Virgin Manifesto, but once we get a glimpse into Mia and Heath’s relationship it quickly picks up. It was a quick read for me and I really enjoyed it. The sexual tension between Adam and Mia on “the night” can be cut with a knife. When it finally comes to a head it is hot, hot, hot. I liked that the sexual encounters between them only intensified throughout the book. There are a few twists and turns throughout the book that you may or may not see coming but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this book is enjoyable. I am looking forward to the other books in the series and am really interested in reading more about Heath. I’m a sucker for a gay best friend.
I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something different and I tired of the damsels in distress and the billionaires who save them.

This book begins similarly to many of the BDSM novels I have read. Woman in trouble, needs financial help, signs her life away to an alpha male billionaire with a BDSM fetish. I was surprised at how quickly it got to the point. I got chills putting myself in Kayla’s position.
Being a mother to a toddler myself, I couldn’t help but think if I would do what she did. Part of me wants to say so, that I would just suffer the consequences but then again, I would want what was best for my child, and I would do whatever I had to do to ensure their safety.
That being said, as I delved deeper into this book I wanted to jump in and scream at Kayla.
I couldn’t understand how she could go through with Gage’s treatment of her, after finding out her past demons. Gage is a true sadist. He pushes Kayla to the brink of pleasure and pain. Mostly, it leans more towards the pain side. We see glimpses of Gage’s soft side and we think maybe Kayla will be able to change him. This book made me feel excited even when I knew I should’ve been uncomfortable. I pictured that was exactly how Kayla felt. She knew she didn’t want what Gage had to offer, but as always, master knows best.

Having lost a dear friend due to the earthquake in Haiti, this touched a nerve with me. My friend was a doctor who had just arrived to the island and was getting settled in at his hotel. He had been there for 30 minutes when the earthquake struck. It took 3 months for his body to be recovered. Yes, this book hit home. The romance was a lovely diversion and Dale hit the nail on the head with the details of Haiti.
This book will have your attention grabbed from the very beginning. You’re going to love it!

This was a feel good story about two average people. They go to bars, have everyday jobs, are insecure and have sex just like everyone else. I really enjoyed reading this story. It was refreshing to read a story about people who were “just like us”. They work normal jobs, deal with chatty co-workers and a skeevy boss. Much like any new relationship, Cath and John face roadblocks, mainly in the form of John’s insecurities. But, you find yourself pulling for them and hoping they can get past them. I love that Cath wear the pants in this relationship. We are used to seeing the man being all alpha and dominant. It was nice to see a woman taking charge for a change. Cath knows what she wants and she helps John find out what he wants. When they both get together it is hot and believable.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a feel good romance with steamy sex.

I liked the balance that the author maintained between the characters, they fed off of each other and one wasn’t in more control than the other. Well maybe a little bit . There was a good give and take between Jax and Marcy and there were a few times that I thought she would turn the tables on him and have him submitting to her.

There are a few twists and turns throughout the book that you may or may not see coming but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this book is enjoyable. I am looking forward to the other books in the series and am really interested in reading more about Heath. I’m a sucker for a gay best friend.
I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something different and I tired of the damsels in distress and the billionaires who save them.

This book begins similarly to many of the BDSM novels I have read. Woman in trouble, needs financial help, signs her life away to an alpha male billionaire with a BDSM fetish. I was surprised at how quickly it got to the point. I got chills putting myself in Kayla’s position.
Being a mother to a toddler myself, I couldn’t help but think if I would do what she did. Part of me wants to say so, that I would just suffer the consequences but then again, I would want what was best for my child, and I would do whatever I had to do to ensure their safety.
That being said, as I delved deeper into this book I wanted to jump in and scream at Kayla.
I couldn’t understand how she could go through with Gage’s treatment of her, after finding out her past demons. Gage is a true sadist. He pushes Kayla to the brink of pleasure and pain. Mostly, it leans more towards the pain side. We see glimpses of Gage’s soft side and we think maybe Kayla will be able to change him. This book made me feel excited even when I knew I should’ve been uncomfortable. I pictured that was exactly how Kayla felt. She knew she didn’t want what Gage had to offer, but as always, master knows best.

Riveting!
Having lost a dear friend due to the earthquake in Haiti, this touched a nerve with me. My friend was a doctor who had just arrived to the island and was getting settled in at his hotel. He had been there for 30 minutes when the earthquake struck. It took 3 months for his body to be recovered. Yes, this book hit home. The romance was a lovely diversion and Dale hit the nail on the head with the details of Haiti.
This book will have your attention grabbed from the very beginning. You’re going to love it!

Where John is a big guy, he has a little extra weight around the middle. Surely, Cath can’t really be serious about him? Wrong! Cath likes a guy with a little more meat on his bones. She instantly has naughty thoughts about him and doesn’t know how she is going to survive working so close to someone who turns her on so much.
John isn’t used to the attention that he is getting from Cath. Because of his size he was always picked on and no girl ever gave him the time of day. Even his ex-girlfriend admitted what they had wasn’t real while she was sleeping around with his brother. Can John look past his insecurities and believe Cath truly has feelings for him or will those insecurities pull them apart?
This was a feel good story about two average people. They go to bars, have everyday jobs, are insecure and have sex just like everyone else. I really enjoyed reading this story. It was refreshing to read a story about people who were “just like us”. They work normal jobs, deal with chatty co-workers and a skeevy boss. Much like any new relationship, Cath and John face roadblocks, mainly in the form of John’s insecurities. But, you find yourself pulling for them and hoping they can get past them. I love that Cath wear the pants in this relationship. We are used to seeing the man being all alpha and dominant. It was nice to see a woman taking charge for a change. Cath knows what she wants and she helps John find out what he wants. When they both get together it is hot and believable.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a feel good romance with steamy sex.

Ten great reads for one low price. I purchased this wonderful group of books due to the fact that some of my favorite authors were included. Selena Kitt and Elle Harper are two of my favorites and their stories did not disappoint. But the wonderful thing is I got to explore new authors and will certainly be adding them to my TBR list. These stories have a little bit of everything mystery, adventure and emotion. Oh and how could I forget, the hot sex, it was mind blowing! This is a wonderful addition to this series.

I have only read Butterfly: I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book. It was such a powerful story and so well written that I stayed by the pool reading all day and ended up with a sunburn. Yes, I know it is January, but this is Texas! It was so compelling that I was immediately swept up into the story. All the characters were well developed and interesting. It deals with issues that most of us prefer not to think about or read about, but it was such a beautiful story that I am immensely glad that I read it and will recommend it to every woman. Even if you haven’t had something tragic happen to you, hopefully it will make you feel more compassion to someone who has. It also doesn’t disappoint in the romance department either, which is the uplifting part of the book. I almost hate to mention the romance part in case that leads you to think that is all this book is about; it is about so much more than that. It is about trust and compassion and caring and love.
