Jayme Sullivan #1

From the First Touch

Rate this book
The day I met Lucas Wolfe was one of the most nerve racking of my life. My boss sent me to do her assignment, interviewing major movie stars and directors for a new sci-fi film that just premiered. Then I went in to interview Lucas. His eyes locked onto mine like a guided missile.

With any other man I would have demanded being courted. I am not the kind of girl to unravel for a guy. Control and independence are the only things I have ever known to get me through life. But that’s exactly what I did. I let him unravel me. And I didn't know how much I needed it until his hands were upon me.

This book has been compared to "50 Shades of Grey," and it begins very similarly -- with a novice Journalist interviewing a far more experienced and worldly man. However, this is really where the similarities end. Lucas, "call me Luke," comes across as boyishly charming. He is confident and definitely goes after what he wants; yet at the same time, he is able to gracefully accept advice -- and sometimes gentle chastisement -- from his agent. It is difficult to imagine Christian Grey ever asking Anna to call him Chris! Jayme, I found to be a much stronger character than Anna. She gives the impression of youthful innocence and exuberance. While she doesn't seem to have true self-confidence issues, she is humble enough to not completely grasp the concept of what a big star like Luke might possibly see in a fledgling Journalism intern like her. While Lucas' character did display a certain amount of assertiveness, I didn't necessarily feel like there was a dominance and submission aspect to this story. That factor in the relationship between Luke and Jayme seems to be due more to the imbalance in their social and professional statuses, than to any actual personality traits inherent to each character. "From the First Touch" is available in a series of consecutive parts that continue the original story-line. In its entirely, I found the novella to be very well-written with well-developed characters and a plot that flows smoothly. I was only disappointed that it ended so soon. I felt that there were many more possibilities that could have been explored between the main characters.

**Note: I received an ARC e-book copy of this novella in return for an honest review.

I was given a copy of all of the books in this series for an honest review. I am very thankful for the chance to review new authors (to me) that otherwise I would have no idea to read. I was quite surprised by this series. Even though they were short, the characters were all really well written. The story was also really good.

I really liked the main characters, espically Jayme. She was a great character and you feel for her. Not only did she have a completely crappy internship, but Jeanine was a complete bitch. I hated what occured, but I really felt she stood her ground where her private life was concerned. So bravo to her for having morals. A lot of times, books are written to have a certain level of anxious feelings and this one had that. It also had a lot more because of the way that Jayme was written.

As far as Lucas was concerned, I knew he would end up doing something stupid. All male, main characters do stupid stuff. It is in their genetic make up. I was surprised at how fast the attraction was, but not put off by it. This were short novellas and that is to be expected.

I loved how the books flowed from one to the other and that I did not have to wait for the next one to come out. Serial novellas are not usually what I like to read. When they are all put out at the same time and I can get my hands on them all, I can do that. The only thing that I wished was that there was more after Lucas comes clean. I was very happy to see that he set out to chase her after she left Paris, I just wish there was more. But then again I always want more. It is one of my main character flaws.

Overall, I was very pleased with this series and I would read anyting else that Ms. Fox was to write. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

☆♡☆♡☆♡ 4.5 STAR REVIEW ♡☆♡☆♡☆

Jayme hadn't had the best luck lately. She knew she had her work cutout by doing her internship in this magazine. Knowing her job was limited never expected to be the maid to everyone in the job. But her luck will change when she is forced to go to a press conference thanks to her boss. But will this change her status on the job or will she sink lower?

Meeting Lucas (Luke) Wolfe the hottest Hollywood actor, her attraction for him will be palpable but knowing her history of bad luck with guys she know the type of girls he is used to not the barely five feet 98 pound young woman with a body of a 13 year old boy. But she would wake up and realized she was a someone's fantasy.

I can already tell this is going to be one fast short story full of hot sex, passion and drama. I for once can't wait to see what Jayme and Lucas bring to this series.

Don't wait too long to meet Luke and Jayme you will not be disappointed.

This book (if you can call it that at 32 pages) was just meh for me.

A little too formally written for a 21 year old in my honest opinion and I've never been a fan of the whole 'insta-love' relationship. I can't really criticise character development because hey, Gwen managed to trap a lot of info into 32 pages, but I just wasn't crazy about it.

I also feel like the novella structure will make Jayme's story a little choppy and I learnt very little about Lucas which was disappointing because I breathe novels about hot actors like oxygen.

Sorry Gwen! I'll be sure to check out your other series, but unfortunately this one just wasn't for me :)

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.

Overall, the storyline was fantastic. My only complaint was that there was no character development and things seemed to move too quickly for my taste. I prefer a little more of a drawn out story with more development of the characters and story. The sex scenes were very through and exquisitely hot. I look forward to more stories from Ms. Fox.

I was actually really impressed with the writing. everything moved too quickly for my taste . I like some drawn out romance and the issues that keep the leads apart. the sex scenes were very thorough n steamy and the happy ending was in place. im curious to read another book by ms. fox and see what else she brings out.

I enjoyed the story but I wish the main characters - Jayme and Lucas, were more developed. The two basically met, hit it off, had sex and more sex. I wanted Jayme to play a little hard to get since Lucas was the movie star who had women falling at his feet. Overall I enjoyed the book - It was a solid B and I look forward to reading more.

Jaymie Sullvian? Really? That didn't sound TOO familiar.

The story was okay. The main characters bumped uglies quite fast.

I didn't feel that spark towards the characters.

It was short that I wasn't able to get attached to the characters.

I felt no excitement when the heroine met the hero..

I thought this book was ok. I really liked the detailed sex scenes, although I thought the relationship between Lucas and jaymie was a bit to fast. Overall good job.
