‘I make my own rules.’

Integrating Flick into his life has given Rushe a new priority, to keep his woman where he wants her – safe and in his bed. But saving women who have no hope is a part of who he is, and it doesn’t take long for the next job to seek them out.
Rushe knows the rules, but Flick has never played the game from this side of the table before. Working in parallel, our couple go undercover to expose the crucial details of an intrigue that sinks deeper than they could have predicted.
Ready to get her hands dirty, Flick wades in, relishing the challenge. Except danger closes in on her from all sides, and Rushe has his own cards to play. They have to learn to work together before the job drives them apart.
But if their union is revealed, it could cost them their lives.

‘I’m gonna fucking kill you for scaring me like that,’ she snarled.
‘We have business to take care of,’ Rushe said.
‘Then I’m gonna fuck you ‘til you beg for mercy.’
Rushe bared his teeth and swooping down he hooked his forearm under her ass and hauled her up against the hard want in his jeans. ‘Think you can break me, Kitten?’
‘Nothing but bareback from now on. You’re mine and only mine,’ Flick said, launching in to consume him again.

I loooove this new version of Flick !!

Flick and Rush are back and damn they make such a sexy couple ! Explicit Detail picks up 3 months after the events of Explicit Instruction , and we see our heroes living their life like any other couple out there . Except they are not 'any other couple out there ' ...

‘Rushe, Baby, I love you, but we came out to the pool to relax.’
‘No, Kitten,’ he said. ‘You came here to relax.’
'You didn’t have to come with me.’
‘You’re wearing a bikini,’ he said, as though it required no further explanation, and actually... it didn’t.
‘If you thought I was the type to run around on you then you’d have dumped me three months ago. You’d have walked out of my studio apartment with Jansen, and I wouldn’t have seen you for dust.’
‘If I thought you were that type, I’d have chained you to the wall weeks ago.’
‘You have... once or twice.’

Their sexual banter aside , Flick and Rush are still learning the tricks of being a couple . With Rushe being only dependent on himself for as long as forever , but with now Flick being mixed into the equation struggles to show that he trusts her . Clearly , he doesn't want her to be a part of what he does , because its always dangerous . But Flick being Flick and not adhering to what Rushe has to say is adamant on showing him that she can deal with his job by being his partner in crime .

Once again , Scarlett Finn manages to create a web of carefully placed Liars , cheaters and deceivers .. even murderers and has our duo tackling their way out if this maze with their life and love intact .

Flick has evolved soo much from book 1 that its almost a joy to watch take the role of a badass bitch with such ease . Her love for Rushe only made her character stronger .

And Rushe .... !!! Oh my god , can the guy get any alpha than he already is ! If you thought that now , Flick and Rushe have confessed their feelings for each other , he was suddenly gonna go all hearts and mushies .. Rainbows and flowers and shit .. ? Well ..

‘You’ve been naughty, Little Kitten,’ he growled. ‘Did you think you’d get away with screwing around on me?’
‘I didn—‘
‘Ah,’ he said, spanking her rear while still keeping her wrists restrained. ‘You’re my whore. You don’t screw around on me. Did your pussy forget who feeds it? Is it hungry, Kitten? You fucking skank, this body belongs to me! You’re for my pleasure alone!’ He spanked her again, harder, then clenched her butt cheek in his hand, sending a burning ache throbbing through her body as pleasure shimmered to her apex.
‘I’m gonna fuck you, Kitten, I’m gonna fuck your pussy ‘til my spunk’s dripping out of you. I’m gonna fill you full, fuck your mouth ‘til your belly’s got no room for more, you hear me? Speak!’

The way I've highlighted soo many passages in this book .. Its not even funny !

I love how Flick calls Rushe ' Lover' . Not darling , sometimes ' baby' but mostly 'lover' ..

It's just ...

I can't wait to read more !!

★Review★

I loved loved loved book 1 in this series. When I found out the author was writing a sequel I was so happy to get more of Rushe and Flick.

In terms of the romance aspect, this is not as dark as book 1, mainly as Rushe and Flick are together now, and both totally in love. (even if Rushe is still a bit grumpy about that fact)

I like how it became clear, because there are two people from 2 different worlds, who met in terrifying circumstances and had to fight for each other, they could not just settle into a normal HEA.

There is a struggle to understand each other, trust each other, join their lives together to make it work in a way they can both be happy.

Flick really wants to be part of his life, after having to leave hers behind, she wants to help, be useful. All Rushe wants to do is keep her safe.

When they get involved in trying to find a girl they think is being kept against her will, all is not what it seems, and in her eagerness to help, Flick makes some dodgy decisions and things get out of hand.

I have to say, there were a couple of times I was thinking "what are you doing that for!!!?" and I lost track a touch of what exactly was going on with regards to the suspense part of the plot (although it pulled together in the end), or at times it seems things work for Rushe and Flick through pure luck or coincidence. But you know what? I do not care! If I want realistic, I can watch Eastenders! (although maybe not, they all live and work on the same tiny square and have extremely miserable lives, it is just not normal folks).

This is all about Rushe and Flick for me (ok, mainly Rushe). They are unconventional, and Rushe, as I said about the last book, kudos to the author for keeping his character consistent. He has had a lifetime shaping the man he is, and falling in love is not going to change that. Yes, he loves, and cannot let Flick go, but he is not going to change into a 9-5 man and start finding a newly discovered love of DIY.

I am super excited to see what will come next for Rushe and Flick and seeing how their relationship develops.

Reread 4/3/2024

Reread 12/2019

I'm really enjoying my reread of this Trilogy. While I am having some issues this time around it's definitely not taking away from my enjoyment and I will keep it at 5 stars. One thing I did forget was how much sex these two have (not that I'm complaining, Rushe is delicious) lol.

Original Review 11/2014

Explicit Detail was another awesome read to me. Rushe was still super sexy and I love how he hasn't changed his crude, dirty talking ways. He will never be flowers and dates but he loves Flick very much and he shows it in ways that really count. Flick, oh boy did she annoy me early on in the story but like book 1 I just can't help but love her. She is compulsive and reckless but I think as the story progressed she grew as a woman capable of being by Rushe's side. I'm looking forward to book 3 and this series is a definite reread for me.

For fans of Scarlett Finn’s Explicit Instruction, comes the sequel we’ve been waiting for Explicit Detail. What can I say other than…Rushe is back! And thankfully, in this reader’s opinion, he is still the domineering, dirty talking, alpha-male that we love from the first book.

When Rushe first entered Flick’s life she knew that nothing would ever be the same. Months later, she has left her old life behind to start a new one with this daunting man. While Rushe is used to being on his own and doing things his way, he is forced to make concessions now that Flick is in the picture. When a job comes up that requires Rushe’s special skills, Flick wants to help in any way she can, even if it means putting herself in the thick of the action. This time, however, Rushe may not be able to pull her out.

What I loved about Explicit Detail was the development and progression of Rushe and Flick’s relationship. Rushe, by no means, turns into a sappy, love-struck Hero, but we do see a glimpse of a more tender side. Flick comes into this book with more self-confidence and strength, which she has learned from Rushe. They are an incredible couple that makes each other stronger as individuals. While they may not have the conventional relationship that we find in most romances, Rushe and Flick have, without a doubt, become my favorite couple in this genre. I can't wait to go "back to the beginning" and re-read the Explicit series again and again.

Wow!! Rushe and his hot dirty mouth again ,it cant get better than that . This book pretty much starts off with Rushe and Flick enjoying life together , and boy oh boy is flick enjoying herself ... Just a peek at how good flick is enjoying herself

"Your body belongs to me ,you do with it what i tell you. Speak, Yes Sir ."

" play with my toys "

" this body belongs to me! You're for my pleasure alone! He spanked her again harder."

"Your my prisoner just the way i like it"

Thats some of the tame parts of Rushe ....

So i loved this book as much as the first , i thought that maybe Rushe would have tamed down a bit in this book,
But i am very happy to say NO!!!! He is still the yummy Rushe we met in the first book.
What i liked the most about this one is how he and flick are trying to work together, also how we see a bit of a mean streak in miss Felicity.

Overall 4 Yummy Rushe stars !

OMG, so I have to just say to Scarlett Finn right here and now---

This sequel was an amazing Rushe(couldn't resist, shut the hell up!!)

Picking up 3 months after-

Explicit Instruction (Explicit, #1) by Scarlett Finn

-we find Flick and Rushe settled into domestic and cotial bliss...

Yeah, right, they may have the cotial part down pat—

—but these two ain't ever gonna be domesticated and that's why we love them so much.

Rushe is avoiding taking jobs—you know those dangerous, dirty jobs he does so well—because of his love for Flick. Well, you just know she is not going to stand for that. Flick is a wonderful female h, her ability to see inside and understand this dark, admittedly fucked-up man of hers is amazing, in no small part because she doesn't want to fundamentally change him.

But trust is an issue, and she teaches Rushe a hard lesson when she pushes him into a job that she thinks she understands, but that she really doesn't. She will also learn an absolutely gut-wrenching lesson of her own in the process...

I loved almost every little detail of this book, the plot got a little convuluted and motives a hair thin at times, but plot doesn't drive this series, characters do. The gritty world of backroom power plays and tawdry sex and incestuous criminal families stands up as a perfect background to our kick-ass lovers. Half the book I had knots in my stomach worrying about these two.

Rushe and Flick fell in love in the first book, but in this book they really start becoming a team that will absolutely knock your socks--and panties--off.

Can't wait for #3!!

This is the 2nd Book of the Trilogy. It's pretty slow comparing to the 1st book which was full of twist and turns.

This book starts of after 3 months where the 1st book left out. Here Rushe and Flick are trying to be a couple who have lots to learn how to be one.

Rushe is ever the Dominant Alpha who is ever a Dirty Mouth guy and Flick she is strong, brave yet vulnerable in this book.

Lets start with the ever hotness in this book ^^

 photo 0e920abc5e8168f608db60623d3adc0a.jpg_zpsrhbobwh8.gif

In this book come across Rushe who is reluctant to take up any job cause of Flick but she insist in him taking up so he can protect women in need :)

But what she does not know is that this JOB could just take away both their lives.

Here we get to meet Liam and Eric side characters who have a big role to play in this as well as in the next series.

When Rushe accepts this job and has to leave Flick all alone, she being FLICK! finds herself in midst of problems and danger.

Can Rushe and Flick come out of this problem unhurt or is there more for them?

Find out to read this

Though this series had an emotional ending but I liked the 1st book more

For me 3* NJOY!!!

This was an OK read. This picks up w/ Rushe and Flick (still hate the nick name) living together and trying to build a life together. They decide to work together on a case that has been brought to their doorstep. Rushe is still a bad ass and has a very filthy mouth. What's changed is that he now has someone he cares about and has to be cautious.

This is a dark but not as dark as the first book in the series.

I will probably read the third just to see where life takes Rushe and Flick.

One word, Wow

This series is just getting better and better, have no illusions Rushe is still has a huge potty mouth, can be crass and a super alpha male, but their is no denying he loves Flick! Rushe , may not be the mushy romantic type but everything he does and does not do when it comes to flick is designed to keep her safe even if it's costs him. These two have spent the last three months together alone, and they have gotten to know each other better, Rushe is starting to show a little bit more of a tender side to himself, when it comes to Flick but anyone else he isthe if bad guard dog!

When work comes to call and Flick discovers that he has been turning jobs down, she pushes him to accept this one and allow her to help and Rushe being Rushe takes the job but tries to keep Flick out of it! In typical flick style she does not " Obey" and puts herself smack in the middle of trouble. Once in there is not much else he can do but make sure he has her back at all times!
Without revealing any spoilers I will say later in the book and the last several chapters will have you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails and keeping your fingers crossed!
The-next book can not come out soon enough!

Never a boring moment with Rushe and Flick. They are everywhere and still solid.
I love how they're holding on to each other.

Flick is still awesome and super badass. She is always fighting for Rushe and their relationship. I hate when she's lost without him, but she never gives herself the chance to stay weak. STRONG WOMAN!

"Maybe the men in this room were richer, and portrayed class, but that didn’t mean they had it. An alpha was an alpha in whatever room he walked into, whether it was a room full of hounds or kings. Rushe could give these guys a run for their money financially, but that wasn’t why they feared him, why they resented him. They resented him because he didn’t need them. He wasn’t impressed, and he could take on any one of them and win. Somehow, other men knew it. Rushe was superior to them all because none of them impressed him, and he didn’t give a damn what they thought of him."~

Rushe is a ghost, or an immortal man. He refuses to let go. I loved it when he told her he didn't trust her. He never denied, but learnt to trust her later on. He's stubborn. But while Flick fights for them, Rushe is the armor and the shield in this relationship.

Never a dull moment with Scarlett Finn. Even when its full of details, I still want more.

Another great book from Scarlett!

Rushe and Flick are at it again. This time their mission is to help find a woman and get her out before it's to late. Before they can get the woman out they need to do a little recon on the man or men that have her. Rushe being a man that does his jobs alone, now has Flick by his side, but Rushe keeps Flick out in the dark when it comes to information about the job. So, Flick does her own recon on the group and the best way she knows how is to research and dig for info. While Rushe is gone doing his own thing with the job, Flick sees an add in the local newspaper for a server position and Flick takes this opportunity to get inside and get to the bottom of this.

Rushe is still the same man - dirty, gritty, domineering, alpha-male and sexy as hell. Flick grows in this book. The things that Rushe, doesn't teach her, she figures it out and finds her inner bad-ass, through Rushe. She didn't seem like the meek, unsure and ditzy Flick from the first book.

I can't wait to read more of the adventures of Rushe and Flick. It's a great roller-coaster ride.

This is not my usual genre but sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone, see what else is available. I read the first book, Explicit Instructions and enjoyed the story. Rushe is a bad boy with a dirty mouth, but all isn't as it seems with him. No, he doesn't have a heart of gold hiding beneath his rough exterior; he's a champion for the underdog, provided there's enough cash involved.
Flick, I'm ambivalent on. I understand why she wanted to prove herself to Rushe, show she's a worthy partner for him. And yet, on occasion I wanted to smack her. The end though, damn, I liked her. Love a woman willing to walk through hell for the man she loves knowing he'd do the same for her.

Rushe will never be a hearts and flowers kind of man, but he will be faithful and truly devoted. Rushe is crude , possessive, domineering, and you have to love it. His character is definitely not for everyone. However with Flick it just works. This book was super hot, suspenseful and had a touch of humor. If you enjoyed Explicit Instruction you will love Explicit Detail.

Ahhhhhhh. This book, this sequel, was so satisfying. Dark eroticas are usually hits or misses for me, especially with the cliche stories but this one stood out and wowed me. So, Flick and Rushe (my bae. mine.) are hired to find a women within a place called The Lounge. It's exclusive-ish for the high class business-y wealthy people.

Flick and Rushe had so many ups and downs throughout this book, I kept screaming "Communicate!!!" and wanting to put them both in the time out corner because a lot of the pages were of their struggles and Rushe's problem of not opening up which could've been filled with some action! I really like Flicks character when she's with Rushe. He brings out the best in her, she's always strong and determined to support Rushe whenever. Rushe was just perfect. I loved Rushe. He's a good male lead, alpha-ish, took control and had issues with hinself (squeal, tortured heros!) but that only added more depth to his character.

Now the case they were on. Boy. Was that a really creepy case. All of the players, Rosa, Galante Senior and Galante Junior as well as Whyte were so weird! And creepy! And I just wanted to off them all myself! I was kind of disappointed that they all lived. (Wow I sound like such a violent person, I'm really not!!! LOL) But yeah still, I guess the justice Rushe dealt out was enough.

Rushe and Flick's relationship was a bit "one step forward and two steps back" for majority of the book, I really hoped to see more of his past (since it shaped him into what he presently is) in the book. But unfortunately there wasn't a lot :(

I hope we get inside Rushe's head and past in the next book, I really do think he's an interesting character. As for Flick, I liked how driven she was on this case, even going as far as working independently in The Lounge and collecting her own information from the inside.

Another great book Explicit Detail (Explicit #2)! Very HOT!!! I absolutely love Rushe and Flick (BTW what a great name Flick). I love after every conflict all Rushe can think about was SEX with Flick. Only one word needed to be said SEX to Flick.

Excerpt: So, Lover,’ Flick said into the ether. ‘What now?’
‘Sex.’
There was the monosyllabic man she loved so dearly. Rushe slammed out of the car and
Flick took her time about unfastening her seatbelt. Just as she predicted her side door was
wrenched open and he hauled her out without ceremony.

Explicit Detail (Explicit #2) is a MUST read book but, you NEED to read Explicit Instruction first and then you can fall in love with Rushe & Flick on your own.

Let me say that I want Rushe all to myself and don't want to share him! Again, Explicit Detail is a great book and I enjoyed it immensely! I hope you do too.

Wow! I think Detail was even better than Instruction!

Rushe and Flick truly dazzle together. This story was lots of fun to read despite the dark side of Rushe's nature and foulness of the villains. I cheered happily for Flick when she took matters into own hands by taking a page out of Rushe's book.

I was pleased to learn of a third book due out in December. The other shoe has dropped and the lovers will surely be in for a very dangerous and wild ride.

It's fun to watch the relationship of these two oddballs grow. I find it heartwarming to realize they are changing each other in unexpected ways. As usual, Rushe and Flick in the sack, or up against any convenient wall is very, very hot!

Rushe is finally back!
How I've missed him and his dirty mouth.

Rushe and Flick have overcome a lot since the last time we saw them. They are now living together and attempting to have a sense of normalcy and to finally leave the past behind them. But with this two, you know we are in for hell of a ride.
Upon embarking on their first job together, Flick has to learn to control her impulses for the greater good. Just when we think we know what is happening and how it will work out, Scarlett crushes our hopes and little by little lets the light shine again.

This book will certainly leave you wanting more and more.

This book follows Rushe and Flick as they try to forge a normal relationship whilst he continues working undercover.
I adored the blossoming love between these two, even in the face of adversity again.
The book is full of plot twists and turns which kept me guessing to the end. Can't wait for book 3 for a bit more of Rushe, he's my typical anti hero.

Loved it. I love this relationship between them! I love them trying to work together. I loved her courage and her determination to help him.
I did get upset both times he left her and she didn’t know where he was. But she did what she needed to do to help her man.

The whole thing between the murders and the hotel was weird to me. I’m like okay hotel, casino, strippers, private parties and drugs. That all made sense, but then add this guy likes to watch his woman with other men. They all shared and were controlled by one woman?? They murdered girls for really no reason. That threw me off. I could not stop picturing Rosas character as a 40 year old woman. She was nasty.

Too much sex, too little story.

The first book in the series Explicit Instruction was about 50% sex and 50% story. It worked because Rushe's running over at the mouth dirty talk was a novelty and thus the sex was entertaining. And of course Rushe and Flick were getting to know each other so the sex was also a mechanism for forging their relationship.

Explicit Detail is about 75% sex and 25% story and it doesn't work as well. For one thing Rushe proves to be a one trick pony and by this point his dirty talk has lost the appeal of originality and the sex is sort of redundant and repetitive.I really was not liking the story overly much. Then around the 75% mark the actual story started picking up and the last quarter of the book was interesting.

I'm usually a stickler for plausibility; but I really don't feel I can comment with any conviction. I think by the time the story picked up I was so grateful that something, anything was happening - I just went with it. I will say that at the very end there was someone who needed to die; and I found Rushe's solution to the dilemma very unsatisfying.

I was debating with myself through the entire book as to whether or not my OCD tendencies would prevail upon me to read the final installment because I really was less than thrilled with ED; then just when I thought I was out - the last page pulled me back in. So I will read the final installment and hope for the best.

So I’m definitely upgrading my review.

I would happily give this book 4 1/2 stars, because I absolutely loved it after reading the third installment. It made it so much more sense of why this book was important.

Rushe and flicks. Relationship literally makes me soar. I love them together so much and this book solidified the strong bond and unity that they’ve built together. This book release at the stage for more action more spicy sex scenes and more drama. If you are into the dark romance, and very menacing, alpha male, this is going to be the book for you.

At first, when I read this book, it felt stale and kind of repetitive, but after a quick reread and reliving the series, and after reading the third one, I realize just how important this book was the first ones that’s the stage for how they met the second one is how closer bond is in the third book really reveals how the relationship is truly Evolved. I think in this book you get to see more pieces of who Rushe really is, and how much he actually does care for flick, and I think in this book she shows that she really can hold her own and be a part of his life in the way that he needs her to be.

There’s tons and tons and tons of smut so be ready for that lol. Overall, this series is amazing and I’m definitely going to be purchasing it. (I read them all as an e-book and fell in love immediately.)

Whoa Rushe is in loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....and damn does he love hard. Mr Hotstuff himself has become even rougher 'round the edges, but Flick wouldn't want him any other way.

Danger came to them again, but the struggle makes their love, chemistry, bond and everything that includes 2of them even better, deeper and even more intense!

Loved every part of it and can't wait for Dec. 31st!!!
