The trade to the Peacocks is supposed to be my fresh start. A clean slate after a tough year.
Then I see her at the team party. The lady in red from that unforgettable Halloween night. She’s stunning, confident, and everything else I like in a woman.
There’s just one tiny problem. She’s the GM’s daughter. And before I can even process that, she drops the most unexpected bombshell. I’m going to be a dad.
I didn’t plan for this. Neither did she. But I don’t walk away from what’s mine.
Haisley
One reckless moment of passion. That’s all I wanted. No names, no strings, no complications. Just a single night of escape before returning to my carefully planned life.
Now, weeks later, my reality has shifted. I’m pregnant. And the masked stranger who I left behind in that hotel room is suddenly back, flashing that cocky smirk like fate is playing a cruel joke on me. Turns out he’s my dad’s new star player and here to stay.
I told myself I could do this alone, but the more I push him away, the harder he fights to be there for me and our baby.
Can two strangers raise a child together? Or will our story end before it even begins?
Due to its mature content and open-door romance, The Unexpected Lineup is unsuitable for younger audience.
K.H. Anastasia started writing contemporary romance as a creative escape, crafting relatable characters she’d love to call friends. With a background in environmental engineering, she now spends her days tackling real-life problems and her nights dreaming up love stories that feel just as real.
When she’s not writing, you can find her spending time with her loved ones, watching sunsets, or curating playlists for every mood—all things that inspire her stories filled with love, laughter, and the beauty of everyday life.
Born and raised in Helsinki, K.H. Anastasia lived in the U.S. and the U.K. before returning to Finland, where she now resides with her husband.
Her debut novel, All Your Tomorrows, was published in 2022, marking the beginning of her author journey.
Thirty-four year old Haisleigh has a very vigorous one night stand with a masked man on Halloween that results in a permanent souvenir with which to ring in the New Year. As her impending motherhood is confirmed, the newly acquired hockey player on her father’s team is introduced, and it’s none other than her masked man.
Rasmus is blindsided by the revelation that he’s going to be a father with a practical stranger who also happens to be the daughter of the owner of the team to which he’s just been traded. However, he quickly adjusts to the news and is determined to coparent the h3ll out of this thing.
There’s not a lot of surprise in the surprise pregnancy trope, as it’s outed early on, for which I was glad as that can be seriously overblown. However, the lack of real conflict around most if not all of the book had me skimming much more than I would’ve liked. I award it 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.
I received an advance reader copy from Flying Pig PR, and I’m sharing my honest review.
I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!! The characters. Their interactions. Their backgrounds. Their personalities. You may even become so attached throughout the book that you cry on the last page (happy tears!!!)🥰🥹
Tropes: Hockey Romance GM’s Daughter Surprise Pregnancy One Night Stand Slow Burn
Plot Points I Love: He listens to ABBA & bakes!! She talks about her pregnancy body positively He takes the news of the pregnancy SO well and is unwaveringly supportive She’s a badass who knows what she wants He’s a dirty dawg but is also a marshmallow FMC & MMC who are actually mature and fall in love beautifully ❤️
So fckn sweet!!! Not at all what I expected from a sports romance. This was both entertaining and emotional. I love characters like Haisley & Rasmus. They are such good people and are definitely amazing parents too. Thank you so much, Anastasia, for the e-ARC
TROPES Accidental Pregnancy One-night Stand (gone wrong) Sports Romance Slow Burn
This was perfect! I have loved all of Kiira’s books and I have loved being here since the beginning! Everything about this was such a treat! I honestly love a surprise pregnancy!! And there wasn’t a lot of drama, but there was enough back and forth between Haisley and Rasmus that kept everything moving so well!! All of the characters are so much fun, I can’t wait for the rest of the series to see everyone really shine! I really loved seeing Haisley and Soph’s friendship on page! Seeing Soph and Jax, even just a little, was a treat! And Jasper!!! I loved seeing him and Rasmus finally figure things out and have a real heart to heart!!
Rasmus and Haisley were PERFECT. From their STEAMY first meeting to finding out about the baby to slowly but surely realizing how big their feeling were for each other, it felt like magic! This was really about them finding a home in each other and finding a way to trust that it’s okay to take a risk, to fall in love, because in the end it WILL be worth it. And IT WAS! They were so sweet with each other and always showed up for each other! Rasmus remembered so many little things and it made both mine and Haisley’s hearts SO HAPPY!!
I really appreciated how much care was written into both of their backstories! They were similar but also so different in the way they were changed by things and dealt with it. Haisley was more sensitive to her loss, and that really came through in how she was dealing with things in the present. But with the support of her family and Rasmus I thought she really was able to work through things well!!
I am GRATEFUL to Kiira for this arc! I have LOVED being here since she first started publishing! I am also feeling so grateful to be included in this book! When she told me she named a side character after me I WAS SO TOUCHED! And then seeing it when I was reading felt so special! I hold a special place in my heart for all her books, but now this one is even more so 🥹
Thanks to KH Anastasia for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 2 🌶️🌶️ Loved the first book and got the lovely opportunity to read an ARC of this second one so obviously I took it! I loved getting to know Rasmus and Haisley and their story. This book is a surprise pregnancy trope, so do not pick it up if you can’t handle major plotline around pregnancy. The topic was discussed pretty much the whole book if we don’t count the one-night-stand that happens at the start of the book. I’m surprised by the fact that I liked this so much because usually I’m not the biggest fan of pregnancy in general but this was so wholesome 🥹 Would highly recommend this series, if you’re looking for something else than your usual American rom-com, because we are focusing on different nationalities around Europe pretty much, especially Nothern Europe which I very much appreciate as a Finn 🫶🏻
Thank you to the lovely author Kiira for the ARC-copy, you’re the sweetest 🩵
This was an okay book for me. I really enjoyed how the author did the surprise pregnancy trope - I feel like it was very well done. However, the rest of the plot was just okay for me. There seemed to be a lot going on in the main characters lives that was not really necessary.
Rasmus wanted to be involved the moment he found out that he was going to be a dad and I feel like he had to keep proving himself over and over again to Haisley. It’s not like she was really pushing him away, per say, but she was definitely keeping him at arm’s length.
There were moments that I feel like could have been omitted, and were not necessary to the story, other than to tell her family that she was pregnant, which is what she was planning on doing anyways, and the ending felt very rushed.
Timmy’s one liners were my favorite part of the whole book.
I really enjoyed Haisley & Rasmus’ story! I was hooked on these characters right from their Halloween meet-cute (and yes, he wears a mask!) They share a very steamy night and go their separate ways…until Rasmus gets traded and ends up on her dad’s hockey team…oh and yeah, she’s pregnant. Surprise!
I loved the moment they recognize each other! Right after that she tells him the news and he was all in for her and so supportive. I really loved these characters and their journey. There is humor and so many sweet and emotional moments too!
I love how we get to see them slowly figure out what they want and how to move forward. We see this genuine relationship start to develop…but that that doesn’t mean it’s easy!
✨What To Expect: 🏒Hockey Romance 🌟Swedish hockey star 💋GM's daughter 🔥One-night stand to slow burn 🍼Accidental Pregnancy ❤️🔥Forced Proximity 💙Found Family 🧁Cinnamon Roll MMC 🔄Small Reverse Age Gap 🎃Halloween Party Meet-Cute 🍪He secretly loves baking and ABBA
This was definitely a sweet story with just enough spice and just enough not so happy times to make it not boring. I love an accidental pregnancy, and this one is one I have never seen because the FMC had an IUD. Of course we have to thrown in a mask and a wig so that we have no idea that he’s a big hockey player and she is the boss’s daughter. But I adore when the big sports star immediately melts at the thought of being a father and swearing that he will be there for his child. As a lot of accidental pregnancy stories progress like this one, with the two deciding not to be a couple but to co-parent. But with this story you could feel the chemistry between the two of the them the entire time. The little touches and texts were so perfect and I just had a big smile on my face while I was reading this. It’s a sports romance, but the emphasis was really on the relationship between the two.
Haisley and Rasmus were an absolutely adorable couple, even when they weren’t. I don’t know if I could love Rasmus more. He is the big important pro hockey player, but the minute that he finds out he is going to be a dad, he is 100% there for Haisley. He wants to be at the appointments, he reads the books, he really just loves his little meatball. Haisley deals with everything much better than a lot of the FMCs in these types of books. I really like the relationship that she had with her stepmom and brothers. They were so sweet. Every interaction in this book made me smile just a little bit more.
This book was one of those books that is the perfect read when I need to recover from something dark or angsty. There is some wonderful spice, but it’s mostly about the connection between main characters. One thing that I thought was perfection was that their first encounter wasn’t just a one chapter/ a couple of pages. It was multiple chapters, and the author really let their first encounter develop perfectly. This is definitely one of those books that makes my heart happy and caused me to smile so big while reading. This was definitely the accidental pregnancy story that I wanted to read.
Title: The Unexpected Lineup: Lost in Translation (Book 2) Author: K.H. Anastasia Genre: Contemporary Romance Pages: 396
Rating: 4⭐️/5
“Who’s the father?”” “Masked Man.” “I can’t write first name Masked, last name Man as a father on the baby’s birth certificate.”
A no-strings Halloween hookup at Noir 21 was supposed to be just one night for Haisley Hilda Lavignew—fashion buyer and board member of Maravilla, Europe’s second-largest cosmetics brand. But when she finds out she’s pregnant, everything changes—especially when the masked stranger from that night turns out to be Rasmus, a hockey player newly traded to her father’s team. Neither of them planned for this, but Rasmus is all in. Now they’ll have to navigate family, legacy, and an unexpected future to see if one impulsive night can turn into something real.
From that unforgettable Halloween night to the moment Rasmus finds out he’s going to be a dad, every beat of THE UNEXPECTED LINEUP hits just right. Haisley and Ras have instant spice, but it’s the slow build of trust, vulnerability, and unexpected connection that truly makes this book shine. Rasmus is a swoony cinnamon roll with a dirty mouth (a winning combo), and I loved how he consistently showed up for Haisley and their future in all the ways that mattered. The surprise pregnancy trope is done so well—emotional, tender, and refreshingly mature—with no third-act breakup to tear your heart out. With just the right mix of heat, heart, a few familiar faces, and the cutest illustrated epilogue to tie it all together, this one’s a must-add to your TBR—especially if you love romance with depth and just the right amount of chaos!
A big thanks to Flying Pig PR and K.H. Anastasia for providing me with a digital ARC of this book!

This is a very sweet sports romance. You have the two MCs meeting at a Halloween party, both in disguise and keeping their identity a mystery. They have an epic & surprisingly emotional one-night stand, and all is good — until Haisley discovers weeks later that she got pregnant due to protection mishaps, and she has no clue the identity of her mystery man or how to find him. Not too long later she bumps into him at her father’s pro-hockey team party and recognizes him despite the prior disguises. Despite the confusing and conflicting circumstances, they decide to co-parent and go on this adventure together as friends.
Haisley & Ras have an undeniable connection though from the start; and he’s clearly smitten with her. He falls fast and hard despite his past reputation. He is a secret softie, especially for her & their baby. And he is just the most precious caretaker for her in this time….through rough morning-sickness, and a few traumatic health scares, he remains a constant by her side. Consistently proving that he’s all-in for her & their child.
It’s a definite slow-burn build to their falling in love & admitting their feelings to one another. But they are so precious together through all of the phases of their friendship & relationship. I love the side friendships, found family, and actual family relationships shown in this story too. They have a great support system despite their past personal losses.
While this story was sweet & there was no third act breakup… (hallelujah for that!) …It was almost too perfect in a sense. Even the one time she got mad at him, it was for something kind of dumb in my opinion. But despite this, if you’re looking for a sweetheart MMC (with a filthy mouth during the spicy scenes), and a slow burn romance with a happy ending and low drama… then I’d highly recommend this book! Great rainy day read!
This was such a good surprise pregnancy book! I love that for the most part it was drama free. It was just two people trying to figure out how to handle coparenting, the spotlight, and each other. I think the author balanced the hockey aspect with the rest of the story really well.
One of the biggest things I loved about this book was that the men weren't afraid to show their emotions. Rasmus cried tears of joy, he showed his softer side with his love of baking and how close he was with his family. I love that Jasper from the previous book followed those vibes. It was nice seeing those two come together and put the past behind them.
I enjoyed Haisley but felt like neither of her jobs/roles in the two family businesses were really talked about other than a random meeting at the beginning. She started out stressed about working her actual job and taking part in the family business, but we hardly saw either of those things. I found her a little frustrating at times but still felt like she was a good match for the MMC. She was at her best when it was just her and Ras hanging out and bonding over the baby.
This is a owner's daughter trope but I have to give it up to her dad Jeremy for being level headed and normal. I get frustrated when the father's get all bent out of shape with their daughter dates a player. He was supportive from the start and such a great side character.
All in all, I really enjoyed this one! This is becoming a favorite series of mine.
I was so excited to read this book after falling in love with the first book of this series. And it did not disappoint! Coming right out of the gate, our MC’s have a Halloween one-night stand. It’s what all the steamy dreams are made of! Mask on. No real names The next morning, Haisley leaves her name and number for the mystery man, hoping he felt there was something more like she did.
Fast forward 3 months and we find out there is a baby on the way. While she tries to find out the identity of the daddy, she is left unsuccessful. Then she goes to her dad’s hockey party and meets their newest player, Rasmus. Hello baby daddy!
I love that he jumped right in. It would have been so easy (& let’s be honest, probably more realistic) for him to step back, take time, demand a paternity test. But he doesn’t. He’s all in. Take her at her word.
But that doesn’t mean they just fall in love and have a baby. Both are dealing with some family trauma that is impacting the timidness in which they are approaching their relationship. However, time and time again, they continue to show up for each other - and I just adored that.
I love KH Anastasia’s style of writing. It’s easy to read and you become so immersed in the story. Perfect read for when you just want a no-nonsense, feel good story.
Oh how I loved this book. 🥹🥹 If you know me, you know I LIVE for the angst. The more you hurt me, the more I love the book. BUT…sometimes we need a bit of an emotional break. I’m not trying to take a grippy sock vacation…though…I won’t lie…a vacation is a vacation 🤷🏻♀️, BUT I DIGRESS!!! Sometimes you need something with no angst…no turmoil…just pure, good hearted love with sexy filthy mouthed hockey player…and guess what? K.H. Anastasia gave us just that 🥰🥰This is a new author for me but I’m already hooked. Love the writing style…absolutely LOVE that we get a different take on the whole hockey romance take with both MC’s being European and the setting not being America. I loved how the author really embraced the differences in Europeans and Americans without using stereotypes. Very refreshing. Made my Belfast heart very happy 🥰
Now to the good stuff. This book focuses on Haisley…our sweet and hard working FMC. She’s been working tirelessly to prove herself beyond what her families name gives her. It’s Halloween and she decides to let loose. Yassss girl! Get a drink and have a GOOD TIME! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 And boy does she ever ! She meets a sexy masked man and has a very VERY spicy one night stand. No names, no faces…sort of 🤭 and at the end they go their separate ways. Except the masked man left a little treat in her Halloween basket…Happy Halloween? 🤰🏻
Rasmus is our golden retriever MMC. Looks like he could 💀 you but is actually a cinnamon roll. He’s a big burly hockey star and gets traded to a new team. Imagine his shock when he’s traded and sees his one night stand standing there. Not just that, but she’s the GM’s daughter AND she’s pregnant! Woopsie!
Rasmus is shocked. Haisley is in PANIC mode. My heart dropped to my vagina and I squealed. But then I cried. You know why? Because this big hunk of a man, Rasmus took TWO seconds to process before he said…yes. My woman. My baby. 🥹🥹🥹 I’m sorry. WHAT?!?! He was all in. All in with no hesitation. In fact Haisley was the one hesitating for a bit. There’s a bit of push and pull as Haisley is guarded…but so is Rasmus. They both have things in their past that they are healing from but they get through it together.
This book is just…happiness. You can’t read it without being happy and feeling good. There’s no drama. No angst. Surprise pregnancy done so well. It’s heavily centred around the pregnancy and their relationship growing around the pregnancy. So if that isn’t your thing, just be warned now. But I loved it! Can’t wait to read more! 💙
Thank you so much to K.H. Anastasia and Flying Pig PR for the opportunity to ARC read this sweet book 💙

The Unexpected Lineup is another beautiful book from K.H. Anastasia! See beginning of the book for content warnings.
I know that the surprise pregnancy trope isn’t for everyone, and I love the way Kiira wrote it here. It’s from their very first interactions that Haisley and Rasmus have off the charts chemistry. They both felt something for the other during the ONS and I think they would’ve found their way back to each other even if there wasn’t a pregnancy. It just would’ve taken a little longer.
I absolutely loved Haisley when I met her in From Helsinki With Love (note: FHWL is not the first book she actually appears in, it’s the first one I read where she appears), and I was so excited she was getting her own book! I loved getting to know her better. Seeing how much she wanted to be a mother was so beautifully written!
Do book boyfriends get any more perfect than Rasmus? I don’t think so. He wants to be a dad the moment he learns of the pregnancy and I love all of the little ways he’s there for Haisley. And Meatball as a nickname for the baby? It’s not something I would’ve thought of, and it works so well for these two!
For all you sports romance fans, don’t worry. There’s still plenty of hockey in this book.
First of all I would like to thank @khanastasiawrites and @flyingpigpr for gifting me this ARC.
In this book we meet Rasmus and Haisley. Two people from two completely different worlds who are about to meet and become one. It’s Halloween night, a night when everyone gets to forget who they are and be who they wish they were. One night where you can be completely incognito. The next day normal life returns, people move on. Everyone but two. One routine doctor’s appointment is about to change these peoples entire lives forever. Can she find this mystery man ? Will she finally find her happily ever after ?
Would I recommend this book - absolutely 100 % yes. This book is amazing. I was in such a slump for the last week until I picked up this book. It had me kicking my feet, giggling, crying and all the other emotions known to man. This was also my first hockey love story and it’s safe to say I’m forever hooked. It took less than a day to read because I couldn’t put it down.
Would I read this author again - yes yes yes Im happy to announce that @khanastasiawrites reached out and asked if I would like to be added to her permanent ARC readers list and of course I said absolutely. I can’t wait to read so much more from her.
This book releases 7 July 2025 !
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review
I received this book as an eARC from the author, and I loved it!
This one features two of my favorite tropes: 💥 One night stand with no names, just mind-blowing chemistry 💥 Accidental pregnancy (my absolute fave—I will gobble up anything with this trope!)
And let’s not forget the iconic “it’ll fit, trust me” line—IYKYK 😉 Rasmus and Haisley had instant fire. The tension, the banter, the chemistry? Aura for aura.
Haisley’s way of dropping that news? Bold, chaotic, and kind of perfect for her. 😂
I’ll admit—the first couple of chapters felt a little slow, and I kept picking it up and dropping it. But after seeing a review, I gave it another shot—and I’m so glad I did. Once it picks up, the pacing, plot, spice, and banter blend beautifully.
This is a solid 4.5-star read for me. It’s sexy, emotional, and funny in all the right places. Highly recommend—and yes, it’s available for pre-order on Amazon!
Thank you to K.H. Anastasia for trusting me with your ARC!
One steamy Halloween party leads two strangers to a night a wild passion. He has a mask on, she is in a wig. No real names are exchanged and it’s just fun and a mystery.
Fast forward 3 months and Haisley is being introduced to the new player for her father’s team, Rasmus, the man she had a one night stand with. The man she is pregnant with. When she tells Rasmus that she is pregnant he doesn’t hesitate at all, he is just all in.
The two slowly form a friendship and bond because they are going to coparent. But they are there for one another. Rasmus continues to sow up for her time and time again. He remembers the little things about her. She is so scared of love and letting him in. They learn that they have a lot in common about their past and families.
I love the banter between these two. I love how the connection was genuine and was slow building up. I also enjoyed that there wasn’t a huge blowup and drama when everyone found out she was pregnant.
I wouldn’t usually call myself a fan of the surprise/accidental pregnancy trope, but—I’d be lying if I said this book didn’t make me reconsider. I enjoyed it soooooooo much!!
I saw so much of myself in Haisley—the anxiety, the overthinking, the fear of letting someone in… and then there’s the other side of her: the badass, successful, crazy-rich, outgoing version. Total goals!
And RASMUS??? Tattoos, man bun, beard, can cook, emotionally mature—TOO FREAKIN' GOOD!! The way he cared for, loved, protected, understood, and truly saw Haisley made me swoon.
You know how they say, “Every overthinker needs a partner who reassures them”? This is that couple. The passion, the emotional depth, the ease with which they connected—the way they anchored each other? Perfection.
I also adored the side characters—the found family vibes, the friendships—they made me all soft inside.
Another new fav from Indie romance author K. H. Anastasia!! I loved this dual POV, sports romance involving Rasmus Westerhoff, newly traded to the Peacocks hockey team where the GM is his one night stand's father and his former best friend and rival Jasper is his new teammate.
Haisley and Rasmus have a hot one night stand at a masked Halloween party that has her getting pregnant when her IUD fails. Determined to do things herself, she reluctantly accepts help from Rasmus and he slowly breaks down her walls.
This was a sweet, getting to know you, forced proximity romance where the accidental pregnancy trope totally worked for me. I loved both MCs and their extended family and team members. Highly recommended for fans of authors like Stephanie Archer or Elsie Silver. Many thanks to the author for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!
CW: side character with late onset epilepsy, early deaths of parents (both MCs)
Accidental/surprise pregnancy is one of my all time favourite tropes and this story played it out so well!!
I loved Haisley and Rasmus together. Ras being all in as soon as he found out about the wee meatball was so sweet, and the way he fell head over heels for Haisley was even better. You could feel the love between them straight through the pages.
All of the side characters in this book were great. There was cheeky banter at every turn and a few sweet but vulnerable moments too. There were also cameos from K. H. Anastasia’s other books which made me want to reread them once I finished.
I also loved that there was no third act breakup. I enjoy a bit of emotional damage and grovelling in a book but it’s always nice to have a sweet, cosy romance too.
This book is getting a full five stars from me! I enjoyed it so much, and I can’t wait for whoever comes next!
Ras’ team happens to be in town for halloween and he and his teammates go out for a good time. He sees a beautiful woman at the end of the bar and one thing leads to another. A few weeks later Haisley finds out she is pregnant and has no idea who the father is, as they didn’t exchange names. Ras gets traded to the team that Haisley’s family owns and when she hears his voice at a party, she knows she has found her masked man again. How will he take the news?
This was another great read. I was invested all the way through and I loved how they were adults about everything. You could see Ras grow as a person, both with Haisley and the team. Haisley, despite coming from money, is a strong, independent woman trying to male it on her own and wants to stay that way. I loved how this story didn’t head in the typical direction of “we are prefect strangers, let’s move in together” despite that being Ras’ first instinct. They focus on building a relationship and getting to know each other so they can raise a baby together.
It is a romance novel, and it is open door. The spice is spicy, but not overwhelming. The text conversations are on point. The writing is thoughtful and not cliche. I loved it when the team went nursery shopping! I really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading more from this author. 5/5⭐️4/5🌶️
5 ⭐️ 📕: The Unexpected Lineup by K.H. Anastasia Why you’ll love this book! Suprise Pregnancy Hockey Romance Hockey Player x GM’s Daughter He Wears A Mask Strong Bilingual Female Lead Slow Burn
“I’m putting Haisley and the baby first. This team’s my chosen family, but they’re my world now.”
Omg how Rasmus and Haisley meet and keep the secret of who they are from each other had me wanting to see what happened when they found out !! Rasmus the way he acts when he finds out Haisley is pregnant and ready to step up and be a dad .. I melted for him!! Haisley is amazing I loved her from the beginning working so hard to make her family happy while also doing work she want to true baddie and her and Resmus connection was off the charts from the beginning this book will have you addicted I promise!!
I adored this hockey romance! I stayed up way too long reading it because I didn’t want to put it down! And I finished it in 2 days.
Rasmus may be my favorite cinnamon roll MMC! I love this man! He is a walking green flag. 🤣🫶🏼
This book does have a surprise pregnancy trope and it was done in the best way! Even though pregnancy tropes are not my favorite, I absolutely loved this one.
Here’s what you can look forward to in this book: 🏒 Hockey Romance 🏒 Surprise Pregnancy 🏒 Steamy Mask Scene 🏒 One Night Stand To Slow Burn 🏒 Cinnamon Roll MMC 🏒 Found Family 🏒 True Love
I rated this 5 stars! It was cute and fun. I was never bored and it was a quick and easy read. I have nothing bad to say about it. I truly enjoyed this book. And the ending?! It was so dang good and unique!
I want to thank K.H. Anastasia for gifting me this Arc. And I look forward to reading more books by her! 🫶🏼
Haisley has been by herself and working around the clock to prove that she can stand on her own beyond her family's name and legacy.
Rasmus has been given the identity of a bruiser on his current hockey team, but the title has begun to chafe at him and he wants more.
worlds collide when both let loose at Halloween and have the night of their lives together, but neither knows who the other is.
When Rasmus gets traded, who does he happen to see at the party for his team, but the woman who tilted his world on its access that he never thought he would see again, there's just a catch. She's the owners daughter and pregnant with his baby.
This was such a sweet romance, both characters figuring out how to love and trust and prove themselves to each other. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
thank you to the author for the ARC.

This is my first time reading this authors work but sheesh I want to know what she put in the books. I read this book in under 6 hours which is honestly a record for me. This book captured me within the first few chapters and I just couldn’t put it down. Honestly the way the story line was built up, the maturity of Haisley’s dad when he was told the news because lets be honest I’ve read books where similar scenarios don’t play out so great. Everything all around was just chefs kiss! The way that Rasmus would try to talk things out with Haisley and be patient her but also show her with actions that he’s a man of his word. All of it was just beautifully written 🥹. Im trying not to give too much away but I don’t know how else to express the character growth and change in Rasmus and Haisley and how uttetly realistic and beautiful it was.
I really enjoyed this book about Haisleigh and Rasmus. Their story started with a fun, steamy Halloween night that led to a surprise pregnancy, and I liked how the author didn’t drag that part out. Rasmus was a sweet and emotional hockey player who quickly accepted the news and wanted to be a great dad. The way Haisleigh and Rasmus grew closer, learning to trust and support each other, felt real and heartwarming. I liked the balance between the hockey world and their personal lives. Overall, it was a sweet and cozy romance that I very much enjoyed. Thank you so much to the author and Flying Pig PR for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving an honest review.

Main Tropes: Dual POV Slow Burn Pregnancy Sports Romance⛸️🏒 Found Family Strangers To Lovers Forced Proximity Age Gap
Points I enjoyed in this book: HALLOWEEN PARTY!!! He Bakes For Her The Playlist He Stands Up For Her And Baby Nicknames
Didn’t like/ improve: A toxic me wanted more drama/ conflict in this book but that’s just me being me. I do wish some of the characters had reservations about Haisley and the baby. I felt that they just were like yeah baby no problem. I did really really enjoy the spice scenes we got but I do wish there were more. I look forward to reading more from this author.
