I have enjoyed this series so much. An island where death sentence criminals can opt to live instead of being executed. An island full of dinosaurs. Add in generic manipulating of both humans and these creatures, and you have a compelling read. Well done. My thanks to the author for a copy of this book.

What an amazing ending! 😍

This trilogy is hands down my favorite series read of the year!! Between the action, mystery, romance.. so much was happening all at once and it was so intense. I loved every second.

Oh gosh, do I have THOUGHTS so… bullet point review!

1. This series was fun and never boring. I mean, it’s dinosaurs and mad scientists and criminals locked on an island, grappling for power or forgiveness– what’s not to love?
2. These books were next level B-A-N-A-N-A-S (hashtag Gwen don’t come for me). I think I lost count of the mutations and special abilities that came as a result of genetic tampering. Also got flashbacks to Grady Owen training raptors.
3. The spiritual dialogue in the story was interesting but I couldn’t quite get a handle on what the author either thought herself or wanted her readers to think. The story tackles penance, forgiveness and grace, the nature of evil, how to choose what’s right, and if humans have inherent worth despite their bad choices. I felt like the conversations on these topics started and stopped abruptly, and never reached a satisfactory conclusion.
4. There was too much going on! By the 3rd book, there were at least 10 different plot points to follow and so many characters and dinosaurs to keep up with.
5. Violence against women is a constant theme, though never fully seen on page or hinted at off page. Just, something to be aware of.
6. No language or sex scenes but lots of dino rage.
7. The relationship stuff was kind of dramatic (do I like him, or him?) and frequently fell into the insta-love/lust category. I’ll forgive the author since they’re on death island and decisions gotta be made quickly but still– not my fav.
8. Overall, I’d recommend it as a quick read for science fiction lovers. Just know it’s absurd!

I loved this story. It continued on where books #1 & #2 left off. I was able to pick back up with the characters I enjoyed. The twist and turns for Oakley, and the rest of the cast of characters was amazing, exciting, and pulse pounding. This present day adventure with dinosaur twists, was truly a great book. This is my honest review of this book that I received as an Advanced Readers Copy from the author Janice Boekhoff.

Wow. This series has been a lot of fun to read. I got the first book while I had Kindle Unlimited and was searching for something different. I honestly did not expect to finish it because I seem to get taken in by the description and then the "execution" falls short (no pun intended.) This book grabbed me from the start and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I bought the second book immediately and just finished this one.
Oakley was a fantastic character. I think most people would curl up in a corner and hide if they were on an island with dinosaurs. I sure would. Oakley built up over the course of the three book a ragtag team of loners or convicts who were more than the sum of their worst choices. This book continued with the evolution adding depth to Oakley and Cane's special abilities. We also get to learn more about her sister Auburn who has more in common with Oakley than she would have thought. Both struggle with internal battles to become the best versions of themselves.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about all the characters. Without giving too much away, the biggest monsters in this book were not all dinosaurs.
I read another's review on GoodReads and could not agree more with their assertion that this would make a fabulous movie. I can even cast some of the characters in my head because their characters are so well developed across the books.
Finally, I am sad to see this be the last book in the series. Maybe Janice will bring us back to the island in the future. Until then I will check out her other books.
I received a free copy of this book for a fair and honest review.

I would give this a 3.5. This was an interesting premise: men and women convicted of serious crimes are sent to an island, formerly Costa Rica, where genetically engineered dinosaurs live and prisoners either learn to survive or get eaten. Oakley was wrongfully convicted and sent to this island as punishment. Survival depends on her being accepted into one of the several groups that have been established by convicts. Oakley makes a life for herself, but her past follows her as her father, who actually is responsible for creating the mutant dinosaurs that roam the jungles, wants to control her, and a rogue FBI agent is chasing her believing she killed his partner. This adventure has a lot of tension, but detracting from that are the overly numerous subplots and separate feuds between different individuals. The novel gets too chaotic keeping all the conflicts in forward momentum, and some of the characters are forced to act erratically as a result, changing alliances with little explanation or poorly explained motivation. Oakley also has special genetic powers, as do her siblings, that just seem difficult to accept. There is a lot of running through the jungle, attacks by monsters, and people having to make sacrifices. After a while, the sheer amount of conflict just becomes numbing. This novel needed less to deliver more in the way of a compelling story.

With the privilege of being an ARC reader for Janice Boekhoff, I received an advance copy of this final book of the series. For me, my usual great pleasure in reading her science fiction stories was dampened by all the death, violence, and general mayhem of this final book of the series. It portrays more clearly than I like about man's propensity for awful acts against others, animal and human. For me, more and more as I age (I'm 78 now), I find it hard to delve deeply into such things, hence the 3 stars instead of 4 or 5. As always though, it was great to be able to read a well written science fiction novel without being bombarded with bad language and worse sexual scenes. How far will science go in the real world with tinkering with enhancing and "improving" the human body, animals, and plants? And what will be the end result? The author takes you on a journey to consider some of the possibilities.

This is the exciting conclusion to the Jurassic Judgement series by Janice Boekhoff. There is nonstop action from beginning to end. If you read the first two books in the series, this one is even more action packed. All the themes and story lines from the first two books in the series collide in a massive roller coaster ride of tension. As in all her work, the author paints amazing scenes with her words and it feels like you are watching a movie as you read. The characters come to life and you will remember them for a long time after reading. I highly recommend interested readers read books one and two in the series first to fully enjoy this novel. Readers who like a science fiction, suspense, moral dilemmas, action scenes, and an amazing detailed setting will enjoy this series tremendously.
I received an advanced reader copy, but this is my honest opinion and I was under no obligation to submit a review.

Execution Island is Book 3 in the Jurassic Judgement Series by Janice Boekhoff. There is so much action in Execution Island including a new dinosaur, Fangtooth. I think that this trilogy is so well written. The characters are realistic and the interaction between humans and dinosaurs is terrifying and so well written. Oakley was innocent, but, she was found guilty and sent to the Island as her punishment. Janice Boekhoff does a wonderful job of answering all of the questions, finishing all loose ends and writing a surprising ending that I thought was perfect. I will admit that I am sad to see this adventure end, but, I can't wait for the next series to begin. If you love dinosaurs and a thrilling heart pounding books, Jurassic Judgement is the perfect series to read. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Having read this whole series now, I wanted to share my thoughts. This was probably my favorite book in the series. Without giving away spoilers I will say that it was more ethically satisfying than the first two, which grappled with heavier topics. I feel like the author did a fantastic job of working through the moral issues that were presented in the first book.

This is definitely not my normal reading genre but I was so intrigued by this story that I had to know how it all ended. It was gruesome in places and some readers may not love all the blood and guts, but we all have to know it’s gonna go that direction, right? I mean the dinosaurs are what’s making this story so intriguing and dangerous. ;)

Fans of Jurassic Park will eat this up, pun intended. I loved how the main characters who previously battled with hard choices, ended up making the right choice in the end.

The thrilling final instalment … Oakley is trying to survive the predators on the island, as well as the most terrifying one of all … her creator. With threats coming from all sides, including the FBI, the convicts on the island, Kaleo’s old gang, her sister … can she survive? I really enjoyed watching Oakley and her friends, especially the Pastor, Cane, grow and develop. There were lots of twists, and hair-raising adventures. This series should be a movie! I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.

I loved the ending to this series! I've absolutely loved this series and am so sad it is over. It was a good mix of suspense, science fiction, and romance. Book 1 had me hooked from chapter 1 and this was the perfect completion of the series. I recommend reading books 1 and 2 first. Book 3 started right where book 2 stopped, which I loved. The author did a good job of recapping here and there to help the reader remember key details from pervious books. I appreciate the fast moving pace of the book, it kept me engaged and wanting to read more. I would highly recommend this series!

I had no idea how this series would conclude. There is a lot of killing but that's to be expected because the island is full of criminals, dinosaurs, & people coming to the island to kidnap or kill some of the residents. It is very important to read this series from the beginning to fully understand what is the whole story. The premise is very different from most mysteries I read. I have mixed thinking about this last book & the whole series. Man can certainly be very cruel to his fellow man & animals because man's thinking is to do evil & not good.
