An eerie mystery set in a mysterious valley of carnivorous plants. In Part 2, Lake Ephemeral drains completely away, exposing a set of strange, stone statues: a boy and a girl. After tragedy strikes, something out there in the valley starts seeking revenge. And Seraphin makes a horrifying discovery....
Lake Ephemeral is part of a five-part series (each part approx. 50 pages)
As Seraphin settled into life at Lake Ephemeral, she found the beautiful butterfly aviary was her sanctuary. When she was troubled or scared, she found the butterflies settling on her arms, her face, all over her body, would calm her. So most days she found her way across the lake – but the day the lake began to drain away, the horrors began again….
As I don’t want to give away spoilers to part one, this will be a short review. But rest assured, the creepy, eeriness continues. The author has a wonderful imagination, a way with words which paints a vivid picture, making it easy to visualize the surrounding magnificence and feel Seraphin’s terror! Highly recommended.
I can't wait for the third installment. Anya this is torture but of the good kind. I love the story and what happens to Seraphin makes me a little angry at the kids but than I get it...lol but I still can't help but wonder what is really going on in that little community and what secrets are still lurking unseen....absolutely loving the story
Much, much better than Part 1!!! The story line is quick and intense. This short story is packed with twists, questions, and emotions. Definitely kept my interest and peaked my curiosity to what will happen next. I cannot wait for the reveals to come out in the next installments. On to Part 3!!
I loved this second installment. Sera accidentally poisons someone and becomes even more of an outcast and secluded herself from the others. she also makes a grim discovery in the Glass House.
