This is a story about a couple entering into a D/s relationship and Paige, the submissive, has defined some contact terms of her own. She's smart, sexy and she's determined. Yes, she will give him her unflinching devotion and submission, but not without some negotiation. I like her style and her moxie.

The Contract is a captivating short story with a Lot going on in 37 pages. I'm a big fan of well done short stories because there is no time for long drawn out angst. I have little patience for pages and pages of unrequited angst. The Contract is short on angst and long on character development with sizzling sex scenes. This is a story with characters readers can relate to.

I think women considering a D/s relationship will thoroughly enjoy this book. Even if a D/s relationship isn't something a woman has thought about before, The Contract may give her second thoughts. E. R. Pierce has done a superb job making her characters real and the story believable.

For the guys, Nicolas knows what he wants, but he's not so stubborn he won't comprise. A healthy D/s relationship isn't a one way street. Nicolas knows that and he wants a woman like Paige who can not only be his submissive, but also his lover, friend and mate.

I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming books in this series. Something tells me Nicolas may have his hands full with the sassy Ms. Paige.

This book was loaned to me by a friend. It is a short read and the prologue made me smile, and intrigued me.

The story is told in first person, which in itself can be a challenge for the writer. Paige talks to you the reader and you get insights from her internal thoughts, plus her bratty mouth with no filter, as her own Sir, Nick, calls it.

Paige is a willful woman and the two seem to have had some scrapes in the past within their relationship, however you are only quickly told this. Much of their past is glazed over in Paige’s words to the reader.

Nick brings up her accusatory tone in “the contract”, which makes you wonder what really did happen. Perhaps that will be address in the further books in flashbacks?

I enjoy the strong submissive viewpoint myself, especially with the bratty mouth. ;) And Nick’s patience is something that I admire in that character as well. Their D/s relationship is a lighter tone than many I have read. It would be a great book for those who enjoy a little kink shown through the bond of D/s. I wonder/hope if the heat and scenes will be ramping up within the series.

My Rating: ★★★½
GOOD: The characteristics of a 3 star book include: interesting characters, a decent storyline, and unique story elements; there was something about the story that I didn’t completely connect with; the book is a solid read. I would recommend it to a friend.
This book was provided by the author for an honest review.

My Thoughts:
I really enjoyed part one to this romantic and emotional serial. Sir--Nicholas--and Paige were deeply connected and you could feel both their love and reservation flow from the pages of the story. There is a back story that I would have loved to read more because it would have established how the protagonists reached that place in their relationship. The Contract picks up Nick and Paige's story at a crossroad. They are at a will they/won't they pause and the progression of their relationship hinges on Nick's response to Paige's terms. Nick is intense and mysterious and very sexy while Paige is sassy and smart with a loving and open heart. I definitely look forward to reading about them as their relationship develops and deepens.

A great sexy read that sucks you in right from the beginning. You can't help but wonder where these two people came from and where in the hell they are going. They've hit a crossroads and they are not quite sure which road they are going to take until Paige steps up and demands what is rightfully hers. Will her Sir accept her conditions?

The entire time I felt myself relating to Paige as she struggles to define what she and her Sir have together. You can tell immediately she would grant this man anything he wished for. The love she has for this man is clear throughout the story.

The passion and heat between these two characters is tortured ecstasy. They both want each other, need each other, but there seems to be obsticles in their way that Paige desperately wants to overcome and she can only move forward if her Sir gives her what she so desperately wants.

Her terms are just as any woman would want I believe. How wonderful would it be to just draw up a Contract for the relationship and abide by those rules? The terms are usually unspoken understandings but not for these characters. They lay everything out on the table and it's up to them to decide whether or not to accept.

ER nails it with some lines in this story that made me actually laugh out loud. I wasn't expecting that in a story like this but nevertheless ER never fails to surprise me with her wit and her passion for her stories.

This is a fantastic beginning to this series especially for those who like a D/S story and I cannot wait for the next one to find out what happens next!

The Contract (My-Sir #1)

This story is the beginning of a D/s relationship between two people who care passionately about one another. The have spent a great deal of time together in the past and now its time to make a decision. Paige has determination and is willing to be what Nicholas needs, but she has some demands of her own.

Paige, she is a strong willed woman dead set on what she wants. She has come to terms to the lifestyle she wants to have with Nicholas. Nicholas has his demands and wants a submissive that will adhere to his terms. Will Paige be the one to accept them?

The writing was great, very informative. ER Pierce has painted a perfect picture for anyone to see the beginning of this type of relationship. It held me glued from the start, leaving me stranded for Lock and Key (My-Sir #2)

This is a short story, but I am sure it will give more away about this couple in time. Paige and Sir/Nickolas
They met online and have a D/S relationship and have been together for awhile . when Paige took a break from it .Then when Paige shows up at his house a few months later with a contract. Will Her Sir/Nickolas still be her Dom/lover or will he end it for good ? This was a short but hot little read and the chemistry and connection and trust they share is what every d/s couple want in a relationship . I am ready for next book to come out and see what happens to them and if they can keep the d/s relationship going or if one of them voids the contract? hmmm we shall see
