What do you do when being with the man you love is forbidden?

You hide it.

Our relationship is secret because he's my teacher, but it wasn't always that way. We met online, when I lied about my age. For six months we built a friendship that slowly moved into something more.

What i wasn't expecting was for my lies to unravel like they did when he walked into that classroom. We're too far gone to try and deny our feelings for each other, so we sneak around like we are ashamed of how we feel.

We steal kisses or the touch of a hand when nobody is watching. The problem is, somebody is always watching and when things go wrong, they have the potential to ruin everything.

3 - Does love at eighteen differ to the love you feel at twenty-five? Stars.

I am a big fan for the teacher-student romance story. I suppose it is the forbidden aspect more than anything, and being a girl who remembers fondly her own teacher crushes, its an enjoyable way to spend a few hours reading about the girls who got to live out their fantasies with their own teacher crushes (albeit in a fictional way).

I have fallen for the girl who hid behind the safety of her computer screen.

I would firstly recommend that you read the prequel novella to this book Unwritten History although not long, it does give you greater depth and understanding into both Eli and Jill and the beginnings of their story.

Rewriting History was an OK read. It went from the first 50% being enjoyably average, to the second 50% at points being supremely stupid and extremely underwhelming. There are a lot of tropes thrown at this book, all of them I have seen in at least one or more previous books from this genre, and most of them just fizzled out without really being explored or justified. That on the whole doesn't bother me, lets face it there are really only ever going to be a couple of ways a Teacher/Student romance is ever going to ultimately turn out, but for me I think the author(s) added too much, I would have liked more development and concentration on a couple of the many plot twists, rather than more and more things being added, sometimes more is just...more.

All I can do is hope that love is enough for our relationship to survive.

I would happily read more work from Missy/Carly, this wasn't a bad book at all. I just think when you are putting out a book in a genre that has been done to death by a lot of authors with varying degrees of success, you need to make sure that you are offering A La Carte and not all-you-can-eat-buffet.

We just need to be careful.

To be honest, this book was going to be a 3* rate for me until I read a few reviews and noticed that this is, in fact, the second book. The story of Jill and Eli started in a box set called Hot For Teacher. Once I read the start of the story, I really enjoyed Rewriting History so much more. I then felt I knew the characters much better.

An 18 year old and a 25 year old getting together isn't really that shocking. The age gap is negligible really but the reason this was a bit naughty was because it's also teacher and student. See...a whole new ball game.

This book was a nice read, and so much better when I read about how they met etc.

Missy Johnson has talent in producing a very well put together book. Her covers are great and her vernacular matches the characters. She can also write a damn hot sexy scene.

However, even when a book is short, there needs to be much more substance than a single storyline and a ton of between the sheets action. Even I can get bored reading too many sexy times!!

I always look forward to reading a Missy Johnson book because of the way she lays out her book, how she lets the story flow. She's not overly descriptive so her books don't seem padded out.

All in all, a good solid 4*.

DNF I just couldn't stand Jill. I feel that she acts without thinking about the future, the consequences.

She has a bitter attitude just because eli who is trying to do the right thing. Eli is just trying to save her from being expelled AND trying not to get himself fired.

Maybe it gets better later on, but I couldn't get past Jill's attitude and her recklessness

Elli and Jill met online. They spent 6 months getting to know each other. They have many things in common. When they finally met face to face, the connection was just as magnetic in real life as it was online.

When Eli's dad needed to take some time off work for his health, Eli stepped in becoming a substitute History teacher for high school. He was excited because it gave him some experience in teaching and it was near Jill. Everything was working out for him....until he walked into class the first day and saw Jill.

Eli is 25. Jill had lied about her age. She was only 17. Now things were extremely complicated. They were far too deep in the relationship to just walk away. Guilt was eating Eli alive. Jill knew their relationship was against all the rules.

So many things could go wrong. Eli was risking his career. He was also dealing with the fact that his father had a relationship with a student and ruined his parents' marriage. Eli was determined to not be like his father and make the same mistakes.

Despite all of this, Eli and Jill could not deny their feelings. Stolen moments were taken every chance they could. When outside forces come crashing down on them, what will be left after the dust has settled? Read to find out!

I've always been a fan of Missy Johnson's steamy romances. This woman can write hot and heavy. If you haven't read any, then what are you waiting for? The book was well written and you easily feel the struggles of the characters. I was torn so I know they were. How can you have a HEA when your love is a forbidden one??? Go 1-click this steamy romance today!

Wow, what can I say!! I've read some pretty good books about students and teachers being involved, but they've been dark romances. This one was light, but it was endearing.

I would love to find me a man as caring and devoted as Eli. He was a bit confusing to me at times because he couldn't seem to make up his mind in whether he cared or not if people found out about their relationship. But they had a hot steamy one at that. Where is my Eli lol!!

It's hot to read about a student and a teacher. You hear it so often happening in real life and I find it repulsive, but after reading a few of these student/teacher books, I have eased a bit on that topic.

Eli and Jill were meant for each other and they always found a way to make it work, their little sexcapades were entertaining. They would figure out how to work around their little situation so Eli's job wouldn't be jeopardized. It was a hot, steamy, erotic story and I was highly entertained with it.

I would totally recommend this book, it was a fast easy read and I know you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Big thanks to Missy and Carly for an ARC copy for review.

There is just something so enticing about forbidden things. It's the wanting of what you cannot have, or in 17 year old Jill's case of wanting who she cannot have, Mr. Anderson, her 25 year old History teacher. Missy Johnson and Carly Grey have teamed up to give us a wonderfully passionate, alluring, sexy, and romantic story.

Jill and Eli had amazing sizzling chemistry together, but what I really loved was their emotional connection and how much they understood one other. There were painful moments with secrets and doubt, but with this couple they cannot deny their hearts when it comes to true love. This is a definite page turner.

Missy Johnson and Carly Grey Rewriting History

This book starts off in a set of 10 Novellas by 10 different authors called Hot for Teacher.
You need to buy this book of novellas before you then read Rewriting History, because the story begins in "Unwritten History" which is the a Novella by the 2 authors. Hot for Teacher is very cheap and your get 9 novellas, plus the 10th novella you need to read to understand the story from the beginning.
The Prequal/Novella was short, but it gave you the essential back ground that you needed to know to get the story going.
You get a tiny snippet in to Jill's life and that she's at school. She's not had a great life really, she moves from one place to the next constantly and really isn't happy. At her new school things are not going well for her. One night she went to try on line dating through boredom and ended up finding Eli, somebody she now cares for, but has lied to about herself.
I loved the prequel and the online dating aspect of it. One line dating is very popular these days and whilst I didn't agree with Jill lying about her Idenity to someone online, I'm hoping this book is for over 18s and anybody younger would know not to trust anybody on the Internet as they could be lying at any point. I liked the fact the authors pointed out that Jill told a friend where she was going, and to check in as long as on the rules you need to follow on line if online dating is what you want to do. I found this very important and was glad the authors took a topic that is used very often these days to meet people, but can not be fully trusted. The authors in the story told you how to cover your basis. I applaud the authors for this.
The couple do meet up and Eli doesn't know/can't tell that Jill has lied about her age. There is a lot of sexual chemistry between the 2 of them immediately, but it doesn't take long for them both to realise that Eli is taking over her favourite teachers history class temporarly and Jill is one of his students.
They were both completly shocked and have no idea what they are Suppose todo. As This wasn't your typical student/teacher book that starts off with them both knowing it's wrong, it's really hard to not feel compassionate towards them both. You can tell they both have a deep connection and there is more between them than a casual fling. But either way it's forbidden.
Watching them both struggle to stay apart was hard. A 8 year age gap wouldn't matter if she wasn't his student, but she is! The passion between them is off the charts and the authors did a great job at bringing out the absolutely best romantically and sexually between the couple, even though you yourself know that they shouldn't go there and it's wrong.
Both the characters were so likeable, that watching them both struggle on a daily basis was hard. I especially felt for Eli. He tried his hardest to let go as he was the oldest and should do the mature thing, but he needed Jill so much. Some parts really tour your heart out knowing how much he wanted and needed her.
I really liked this book and the twist of the separate prequel, online dating, teacher/student relationship that was different to the norm. It was full of angst, heart break, drama, love, passion and romance.
I throughly enjoyed it 4.5 stars

Jill is a senior in high school. She is beautiful, smart, sassy, funny, and a whole lot more. She is not like most 17 year old girls. In my opinion she has an old soul. There is just something about this character that grabs a hold of my heart and she will surely sneak her way into yours, I’m sure of it.

Eli is a substitute History teacher. Oh and he is 25 years old and smoking hot! I mean he is young, hot, and a history nerd…hello I am next in line. Now there is so much more to Eli than his looks and brains but you will have to figure that out on your own.

Jill and Eli end up meeting online through one of those online dating sites. Well we all know that sometimes you don’t always get the whole truth and nothing but the truth through them. So let’s just say that someone was keeping a very big secret that could have altered the results of this relationship if they would have been upfront. Then the unthinkable happens, Jill walks into her History class and who do you think is sitting behind the desk when she opens the door?!

Rewriting History was so good that I couldn’t put this book down until I got to the last page. So, Missy Johnson I just want to tell you that you are an incredible writer and all of your books are amazing. Rewriting History has a HUGE lesson in it, in my opinion, and it is a very good one. So keep your learning mind engaged throughout because you may just learn something yourself from that lesson. I know I did. You will also fall in love with all of the characters within its covers as well, I promise you.

And keep your cool while reading this amazing story, otherwise you may end up like me. I literally had to stop myself at times and take a deep breath before continuing because it felt like the characters were trying to pull me into their story right alongside them. Yeah I know that sounds strange but it can happen, I am an extremely avid and severe reader. I can’t even count on my hands and toes the amount of books that have totally engulfed me while reading their pages. Rewriting History is one of them I can assure you that much.

One last thing before I let you go. I am beyond happy with the ending of this book, it was perfect and the book in whole will surely be read time and time again! Congratulations Missy Johnson you did any outstanding job. I can’t wait to read the next story you decide to bless us with. I know it will be just as amazing.

When I finished Unwritten History (a part of the Hot for Teacher Anthology), I did not just want more, I needed more. Thank goodness Jill and Eli’s story picked up right where it left off.
I loved how this story came together. It was intriguing to see how this couple formed. It was not the story of a teacher seeking out a student. Eli met Jill online. He thought he was meeting a 20 year old office worker. After months of online talking, they had a date that quickly spiraled into more. Having them meet prior to any student/teacher relationship added a spin to it that made me flip the pages waiting for the other shoe to drop. Even though it is considered a “forbidden love”, you found yourself rooting for them. Christ I never thought I would say that about a 25 year old and a 17 year old, but this story made it work.
They were both in too deep now and they each have internal battles of their feelings, their futures, their families and what people will think. How can they hide from each other when they cannot hide their love?
There are some great secondary characters. I loved Jill’s friend Alice, she was a hoot! There are a few other storylines that come out making Eli and Jill’s battle to be together an easier one. I am not one to spoil, so you will just have to read it for yourself. It is a great read for escaping reality. If you read this same story as a headline not knowing the back story, the pitchforks would be out for Eli’s head, but reading this story you can see how one lie can spread and become larger than life and have more meaning than just a number. I guess having a friend with a husband 17 years her senior helps too.

OMG! What a fucking awesome read. Missy Johnson and Carly Grey have done an amazing job with this book. I was sucked in from the very beginning and read it in one sitting.

I absolutely love a book where you can feel the emotions. And I felt the emotions with this one. I felt angry, hurt, sad, heartache, giddy, happy and I completely swooned over Eli. This book will no doubt not only melt your heart but have you squirming in your seat.

Eli and Jill’s relationship will take you on a rollercoaster. Eli struggles with his past and Jill faces an unexpected situation. But there is no doubting the love between these two. Eli captured my heart from the very beginning.

I don’t think I can pinpoint one thing in this book that I did not like or enjoy. In fact, I know there isn’t anything that I did not like. I loved everything about it. The characters are all well written and some will have you laughing and snorting. I loved Alice, Jill’s best friend. The things that come out of that girl’s mouth are fucking hysterical.

So not only does Missy and Carly give us a good dose of drama and obstacles but they bring some panty soaking, toe curling, afuckinmazing sexy as hell scenes. Eli is super sexy and if he was my teacher I’d want to tap that too!

This book was super sexy, super sweet, super romantic with the perfect amount of drama to keep you consumed and totally enthralled throughout. I absolutely recommend it. I sure as hell was not disappointed and was only left wanting so much more of Eli and Jill.

I really enjoyed reading Rewriting History. There is a short story in Hot for Teacher Anthology called Unwritten History. I strongly suggest you read that one first. Unwritten History tells us how Jill and Eli met. It really helped me connect with the charterers. Rewriting History picks up where Unwritten History left off.

Jill is a high school girl. She has moved around a lot and in a drunken night she sets up an online profile. Eli is the only normal one that answers her ad. Eli is is 25. Jill and Eli start a relationship.

Eli is a really great guy and he is super hot. When he finds out that Jill is one of his students he tries to call it off. Their love and attraction for each other is to strong for them to resist.

Student teacher relationships are something that are thought of as taboo. I have read a few books that have had those types of relationships. To make it a good story, it all about how the author presents the relationship. I lvoed the way Jill and Eli's relationship was formed and how it progressed. Missy Johnson and Carly Grey did a great job writing a story on a subject the is frowned upon.

Rewriting History is a great read.

Who knew history could be so hot?

Be sure to read the prequel first - Unwritten History!! Loved the finale of this story. The prequel had me hooked and I read both in less than two days :) The lying, comedy, passion, and sadness from the beginning continues in the finale with the addition of happiness. And now a bit about the story...

Jill and Eli don't think they can survive without each other, but they know they should stay away - at least for a few more weeks. They try, they really try, but it is hopeless. Then there is the worry about how much Jamie knows. Jill is used to Jamie trying to ruin her life and she is starting to worry. Then after one crazy party many truths are set free... will they survive? Can the rewrite their history to end happily?

Favorite passages:
- I don't like fighting either, but I'm not someone that is going to follow you around like a dog and jump on you lap when it suits you. You can't train me.
- "Think about forgiving him, for your own sake, not his. For your mom's sake, because you can never be happy carrying around all this hurt."
- She speaks with more wisdom and truth than I ever have in my entire life.

Rewriting History does not start of with the typical morning alarm for new school day scene, which was definitely refreshing. Nope it picked up from where the Prequel in HOTS FOR TEACHER ended, so I would seriously recommend you read the short prequel to get the understanding of Eli and Jills relationship.

This is a story about Eli and Jill, who meet online on a dating site. Once Eli becomes Jills teacher everything goes to ST mode. The fear of getting caught, the sneaking around.

The book was well written and had the splits and turns to keep you into the book. It has it all friendship, bulling, cheating, love, sex. And most importantly it addressed the importance of forgiving others.

However I was very confused with Eli. He couldn't figure out if he cared about people finding out or not. He did seem immature. I felt the book need a more in depth chemistry between the two instead of the many sex scenes.

Overall I would like to congratulate both Missy and Carly. And look forward to reading more of their work.

A Recommended book

Thanks to the authors, I was allowed to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this love story about two young people in a very complicated situation. One is a senior in high school and the other is the substitute teacher. Although there is an 8 year age difference, Eli & Jill fall deeply in love with each other. The two know each other before he becomes her teacher and both are shocked when it happens. How do they manage to make their relationship work within the boundaries of the student/teacher relationship.

Eli tries to do the right thing all of the time but he can't manage to stay away from Jill. This is a sweet story of how these two people manage to make a relationship work and endure the things that life throws at them. It is a hot read but is very sweet at the same time. Worth reading for sure. Five stars! One word of advice, read the prequel Unwritten History that is included in the Hot for Teacher Anthology. It gives the back story and you will move right into this book from it.

Rewriting History is the follow up to a novella in the Hot for Teacher anthology called Unwritten History. I have not read any student teacher romances before the Hot for Teacher anthology and Rewriting History and i did really enjoy Rewriting History. Eli is very nice indeed :) and despite all the reasons why Eli and Jill should not be together there was something there that went so much deeper than age. Jill at times seemed immature and a bit annoying and it was hard for me to get my head around the fact that she is still just a teenager at times. I think what i love about the student teacher relationship is the forbidden passion side, lol. Its like the boss and worker type of story or people from the wrong side of the tracks. It just adds to the romantic suspense which i am a sucker for. The ending was brilliant, i do not want to give anything away as i hate reviews that can spoil it for you if you decide to read it, which you should, but it was so sweet and perfect.

This book was very interesting.

I'm not really fond of the whole "Student-teacher" type books, simply because it always appears to be redundant and reading about that "forbidden" type of stuff isn't for me.

However, once I read the prequel to it, I saw that it wasn't going to be one of your typical "Student-teacher" romance books.

You see, the two people had fallen in love with each other waaay before they knew that they were going to have a student-teacher relationship and the fact that there was a somewhat big age difference.

It was a really good book, actually. Very interesting. So cute, too. <3

I also loved the relationships outside of the two main characters. The author did a really good job in showing the problems within the family and focusing on things other than the main problem (being the romance between the two main characters).

I liked it. It was a very nice read!

Jill was a seventeen year old student, she met Eli who was eight years older online, for six months they got to know each other, only Jill told Eli she was twenty and worked in an office, they finally met and everything was perfect until Eli found out the harsh truth, Jill wasn't twenty she was a seventeen year old student and Eli was about to become her teacher.
Eli's father had become sick so needed a break from teaching, this is were Eli takes his fathers place and becomes Jill's teacher.
Jill was now his student, how could things go from being good, really good to spiraling out of control?
how can they be together now?

This book was brilliant, I really enjoyed the storyline and characters.
The storyline flowed from beginning to end,I also like the fact that the author didn't flood the story with loads of history facts as this wasn't needed.

A cute story about forbidden love. 17 year old Jill meets Eli through a dating site and over a period of 6 months develops a relationship with him. Pretending to be 20, having fun with it she never thought she would meet him in person until he moves to her home town Denver to help out his dad who fell ill. Meeting him in person, sparks fly and they spend their first romantic weekend together until he finds out her true age. Crushed Jill doesn't think things could get any worse until she goes to her history class the following day and realizes that Eli is her substitute teacher for her history class. How will they deal with their feelings for each other knowing their forbidden love could jeopardize Eli's career and Jill's reputation?

Rewriting History follows on from Unwritten History. I preferred the prequel to the main event slightly. I am a fan of teacher-student entanglements as long as suitably aged over the age of consent so this was an enjoyable read. It was adequately well written and the dilemmas from the student and teacher perspective were spun well. It was a premise visited before by other authors from the angle of online relationship to discovering the person is going to be your new teacher, but it still made for a well thought out and realistic story without the over heaviness that this subject matter can cause in certain situations.

Rewriting History was a touching student/teacher romance that I could not put down. This book picks up where Unwritten History leaves off. Eli is so torn between his feelings and tries to push Jill away. No matter how forbidden or how much they try, Jill and Eli can not fight their feelings for each other. Many obstacles are in their way, but this only makes them stronger. I felt all the pain and struggles that Jill and Eli experienced in their own relationship and with those of their family. This book is a lesson in love and forgiveness. I couldn't be happier with the way this story ended! Hats off to Missy Johnson and Carly Grey for such an amazing book!

It all started off like a dream come true for Eli. Finding a girl who loved History as much as he did. You're thinking wait there has got to be a catch somewhere... well for Eli he had no idea that that day he walked in to teach class there she would be, the perfect girl staring right back at him.
Make sure you show up every day for a front seat at the head of the class for this roller coaster of a ride. You thought school was tough and boring then just wait till you have Mr. Anderson teaching you a thing or two.
If you ever daydreamed about that one hot teacher definitely pick up Rewriting History. Missy Johnson and Carly Grey won't disappoint.

I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock. Rewriting History by Missy Johnson and Carly Grey is waoooooo.... I love the fact that the book started with some actions between the characters that for me set the tone of the book and it was great. Eli a history teacher fight his feelings for Jill one a seventeen year old student that he previously met online and was starting to fall for. Throughout the whole book we see him fighting for his feelings and wanting to do was he thinks is right even though it drives him crazy to be away from her.
I gave this book 5 fangs and recommend to mature readers.

Eli is a high school history teacher who just moved back to Denver to take over his suck dad's class. He hasn't told anyone the real reason he moved back though is because of a beautiful girl he met online and has feelings for. Jill didn't tell Eli she was only 17 though.

Or his father's student.

Rewriting History by Missy Johnson fell a little flat for me. I wanted to like it. I wanted a hot steamy forbidden relationship but it just never developed in this book. Eli and Jill just always seemed to be complaining and there was never enough "forbiddenness" about there relationship. The sex scenes seemed bland as did all the secondary characters...

Review to come. After thinking about it for a few days I've found I don't like this as much as I did when I first started reading it. There is so much telling and not enough showing. Not to mention some inconsitenices especially when the which is then never brought up again! I want answers!!

So I thought I was gonna have to wait till 2015 for this one since in the novella said the wrong date.
THANK GOD IT WAS A TYPO!!!
I loved this story!!!
Eli was one sexy teacher!!
I just loved how Jill and Eli first met. They had a connection from the beginning they couldn't deny!

The authors did great with this book.
There was some emotional stuff with Jill's parents that gave the book something more!! :)

I really like this book. This is a typical student/teacher affair. Eli and Jill meet online all was great and they hit it off. Until he takes a teaching job and see her in his class. That's when Eli realizes that he was lie to. the only problem he still wants Jill. There's a lot of hot passion between Eli and Jill. Even though this is a forbidden relationship, you cheer for them to make it with no one getting in trouble.
