4.5 Stars.

I think that I actually enjoyed For the Win more than At Any Price. I almost decided against continuing with this series, but after reading the lead in for this book in At Any Moment, I was immediately pulled in. I love Jordan and April's story, and I also enjoy seeing more about the other characters in the first 3 books. I really enjoyed the flow and found this far less frustrating than the Adam and Mia books.

Hands down this is my favorite book in the Gaming the System series. Also, Jordan and April are my favorite couple in the series, so I guess you can say that my opinion is biased. I don't care though because I'm just in love with these two. I literally see myself in April. She loves reading books. She even reads them when she is in social gatherings on her phone, which I always do this. She also loves having a good time which I am always down for as well. There's so many other characteristics that we also share, so I really enjoyed reading her chapters.

Do not get me started on Jordan Fawkes. He is my weakness when it comes to book boyfriends. Jordan really likes the lifestyle that he has, which is basically being a womanizer, (I'm not a big fan of.) and he embraces it by letting the woman he is hooking up with that nothing else will come from it. That's the thing that I really like about him, his honesty. Also, this guy is really smart, which gives him yet another point in my book.

When I first read this book, I was sad that we weren't getting another book in their POVs, but I was tweeting with the author, Brenna Aubrey and she told me that there might be two more additional books for Jordan and April after the release of For the Taking, which is Kat's book. Telling you that I was beyond the moon would be an understatement because this just made my day, and I was super giddy at work for the rest of the day. I can already imagine ALL the possibilities! There's just so much that Brenna can do with these two. Especially after the ending of Worth Any Cost. I can't wait. I'm getting giddy all over again just talking about it!

OHMYGOLLYGOSH!
THIS. BOOK. RIGHT. HERE. BROUGHT THE FEELS.

I'm a complete mess at the moment because I want to read the next installment in this series, but it doesn't come out until February. I have preordered it and as soon as it arrives in my iBooks app I will be reading it. I wish that Jordan and April's story will continue on because I really love them, but this is their conclusion. :(

In all honesty, I was putting off reading this book because I didn't think that For the Win would compare at all with the first three. I'm happy to announce that that was not the case at all. This book brought the feels and it is just as amazing as the first three if not even more than the first three books.

I found April so relatable. She likes keeping the peace, making everyone happy, and putting herself last. I love her character development. Even though this is a romance novel, her self discovery wasn't depended on what her love interest, Jordan said. And vise versa. I love this two so much and their dynamic. I just want to keep on gushing about these two, but I will stop now.

READ IT!

A very inappropriate but I like it 4 stars for Brenna Aubrey's For the Win. The story line can be considered cliche but I think it does well to hold its own and develop. Aubrey's a talented writer and does a great job at shaping both Jordan and April. The only reason the story lost a star for me was the ending was happy but it didn't wrap everything up in a pretty bow with like an epilogue that sees the couple in say six months to a year making it and being further in love.

What I really enjoyed was Jordan. Jordan, oh, Jordan. The man is a devilishly charming man with just the right amount of asshole mixed in. Honestly, he's such an asshole but that's why I was laughing through all the first ten chapters of the book. He's confident, witty, clever, sexy, charming, and a downright dick. He's been burned before and took up the policy that nice guys really do finish last so he won't be a nice guy. He grows and shapes until it is obvious that April has a hold on him that he can't quite shake.

April is smart, has some daddy issues and parenting issues, but is a good young woman. She struggles with expressing herself in regards to standing up for herself. In other words, April is a doormat a lot of the times. Well, a doormat to the outside world but has a pretty sassy mouth in her mind until Jordan coaxes her to snap a bit. April is just as taken with Jordan as he is with her, even if he is a dick.

The two push each other's buttons, hurt one another, and fall into each other. They say love is merely a sickness, an obsession, and these two can attest to that. Jordan can't get April off the brain, and to a degree, away from his cock. April can't give up Jordan because she's addicted. The two are good for one another and it takes some pushing on April's part for Jordan to see that love is always worth the risk.

It started off interesting. I liked the plot of it all but then it just turned into too much . April was naive and a doormat. I hate women that are portrayed as doormats. The H was not my favorite- very childish. Frankly I don’t know why April kept going back to him - he literally held her letter of recommendation over her head if she didn’t do something - if that’s not blackmail , I don’t know what is

Jordan Fawkes is a womanizing, sexy as sin, geeky, rat bastard CFO for Draco Entertainment. He's also the topic of the company's latest scandal. Two employees from Draco had a wild hot night of sex at Comic Con and made a video and now its gone viral. The good news.. no one knows its him, including his hot little intern, April who he had sex with that night. Thank heavens for costumes and one night affairs. But the problem is now that he's had April, he wants more of her and to make matters worse he's her new boss. More problems. A hot little office affair? Maybe but of course things can't be that easy for the CFO. Could they?
April is severely crushing on her new boss. To make matters worse, he saw her tattoo at work and now knows she's one of the employees behind the sex scandal. Why hasn't he canned her yet? Better yet, why is he looking at her like he's the Big Bad Wolf who wants to eat her up. And more importantly, why is he such as asshole to her?
Jordan is an asshole and a rat bastard. His company is about to go public. They can't afford a sex scandal. But why would April record them having sex and then post it on the internet? Does she know it was Him? Does she plan on using that over his head for her business school recommendation? Well, Jordan is going to find out... one way or the other. Keep your enemies close and and keep the interns you want to screw again, literally, closer. And more importantly, don't grow a heart and don't fall in love along the way

This series just keeps getting better, I like the alternate POV between the two main characters. I think the writing is fantastic and keeps the reader turning the page well past their bedtime. The books are very character driven and I may have melted just a little bit for Jordan. I really hope we have another Jordan & April book. Now to impatiently wait for William & Jenna's story.

3.25-3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book. This is Jordan and April's story. April is at Comicon for work, when she meets and has an anonymous one night stand while she and her partner are in costume. She had just found out that her mother was marrying her fourth husband- April's ex boyfriend. So she was upset, drank too much, and acted out of character by having a fling with a stranger. The problem is that she discovers the next day, that not only did she film the act, it somehow got posted online and went viral. The costumes April and her partner were wearing in the video were from the video game that her work develops. April is shocked to find out that practically everyone has seen the video, but glad that no one knows it is her. But the person who is in the video knows that it is her. And that person is Jordan, April's boss. Jordan thinks that she filmed him and uploaded the video on purpose. He makes her life at work Hell. He soon sees that it was not done on purpose, though. He doesn't want a relationship, but he can't help to start to like April. Eventually, as they spend more time together, they begin falling for each other. Jordan has baggage to get over before he can commit to a relationship with April and they have to deal with the fallout of their identities being discovered as well.

I am not sure why, but I expected this book to be a bit funnier and less heavy. I think it was the fact that they met at Comicon and had a ONS in cosplay costumes. I thought that was a cute, nerdy meeting and I expected more nerdiness, but there wasn't really much else. Neither Jordan or April are nerdy. I did like the story though. Jordan is a jerk a lot of the time and treats April badly a good bit, in order to punish her and push her away. I did feel like he shaped up by the end. But the book is long and there was a lot more angst than I expected (or prefer). I liked April and I felt bad for her. I am glad that she eventually stood up for herself and earned the respect of Jordan and her father. I did eventually buy into the love between Jordan and April. It was a rocky road getting there, but I was happy for them to get to be happy together. I enjoyed the side characters and the work romance aspect too.

Overall, I did enjoy the book and the way Jordan and April's relationship developed. I may read more from this author when I am in the mood for an angstier read.

Sweet sinners unite. This book is delicious.

I loved these characters. Getting to know the new ones and seeing some familiar faces I already loved. (MIA AND ADAM FTW!) These people are actually realistic. I know people like this. I work with them. I grew up with them. The emotional aspects and the family drama. I understand it all. Besides the billionaire boyfriends, of course. I’m not there just yet ;).

And, after all, isn’t that the best kind of book. The ones where you’re reading your life in print? Knowing that someone else understands your life?

April is having some bad luck. Some bad hook up luck. Not with the actual act, but with an event after. Someone did her wrong and now her, and her hookup partner, are in the secret keeping business.
April is the bookworm. Not the gamer girl, (she’s no Mia.) but she works for one of the best game developers in the world. She is smart and funny and has a few issues with self-esteem (aka, Me).

Jordan is that perfect blend of sweet and savory. The kind of guy you want to experience. Rough in all the right places, and soft in all other aspects of his life. Professional, but doesn’t mind a quickie in his office.

Or the bathroom.
Or on the beach.
Or against the car.
Or anywhere else in public, really.
He was just HOT.

For the Win made me cry. I seriously was bawling on my bed somewhere starting around 70%, and then for the rest of the 30% of this sexy, heartbreaking novel. (I can blame part of the emotion on the fact that my dog just died, but the rest is this book. Shit. It got to me.)

The fourth book in the Gaming the System series, For the Win isn’t a letdown. You will get your fair fix of Adam and Mia, but you will definitely fall in love with Jordan and April (I actually almost like them better. Almost. Like by a millimeter).

(Also, William’s book is next!! Need. Now.)

For the Win...
I was dying to know what Brenna was going to do with Jordan. I was sure his interest would be one of Mia's friends. But no!!! Then I wondered where is this story going to go? Jordan is just a crazy manwhore and I DID NOT like. I hated his character in the previous book.

As I read this book I had to eat up ever negative thought I had of manwhore, male enemy numero uno! Yes, I sat here and read and actually apologized to poor Jordan Fawkes for hating him.

Brenna, oh Brenna!! I am absolutely in freaking love with this book!!! As as stalker, uh...I mean fan I love what you did with Jordan's book. This man has one amazing story that ALL must read. You had me feeling so much emotion that I was in awe of the talent you showed. You, know how much I loved Adam and Mia and how I have professed my undying love for Adam. Well, there are parts in this book where I was saying, Adam who?

This is not the typical love story. This is a bit more! A young woman found a voice. A young man found that life is more that money, power and sex. The chemistry that is Jordan and April is intense, funny and down right beautiful. This love story was screaming to be told and I am so glad it did.

Brenna, Thank You so much for this book and series. For showing us that geeks can be hot, sexy and oh so very talented away from their computer and game system. You have delivered a beautiful story and your talent shines. I can't wait for more and I will be patiently waiting or Liam... I mean William.

Excuse my rage cussing, but:

April is a f#king ding dong. She’s a child with no self control and ability to stay focused. Her only asset is her body and am disappointed that Jordan was paired up with such a stereotypical Housewives of Beverly Hills contender. Seriously?! Wealthy absentee father, Phi Kappa sorority member, inability to work technology, with zero pop culture understanding? IN WHAT BACKWARDS WORLD?!?!

Also, I LOATHE people who blame alcohol for bad behavior. April literally committed a sexual assault crime and she gets away with it scot free cuz WOE IS HER LIFE WITH A SLUTTY MOM AND LOW SELF ESTEEM AND PRETTY TITS. BOO HOO, SHE’S DRUNK AND WANTS TO REBEL. No honey, getting more tattoos and piercings is a rebellion. Recording someone without their consent is sexual assault. It’s not cute and I find it appalling that it’s swept under the rug just cuz Jordan is hot for April’s p#ssy.

Like, in what fucking world is this OK? If this was reversed and Jordan was recording April, we would not find this cute or charming and would demand Jordan be gutted. DISGUSTING.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a pretty loyal person.
I take my men one at a time.
I loved Adam from Brenna Aubrey's "Gaming the System" series; he was the perfect nerdy boyfriend.
He had it all, looks, charm, money, passion, and to top it all off he was a big fat nerd and the CEO of his own gaming company.
I admit to being skeptical about her newest novel, For the Win. I wasn't sure how I would like Jordan, especially because he came off as such an a-holeish guy in the first three novels. Keeping an open mind, I dove right into Book 4 and WOW, even I was impressed. Surprised, shocked, even disturbed wouldn't be enough to describe how INTO JORDAN FAWKES I was, and that's saying something. Here I thought no one could surpass Adam Drake...well...I may have been wrong.

Intern April Weiss is in big trouble. After the company's big weekend at Comic-Con, a sex-video somehow went viral on the internet featuring two cosplayers dressed up as characters from the infamous game, Dragon Epoch. What's most alarming is that one of the cosplayers happens to be April. If anyone finds out she was one of the participants she would be publically humiliated, and worse, fired. To make matters even more complicated, April has been promoted to assistant to the company's CFO, Jordan Fawkes, who isn't too happy about the arrangement either.
For the last couple of years, Jordan has been working on getting the company to go public on the market and has finally convinced Adam to get on board. However, all his hard work will mean nothing if anyone finds out he's the other cosplayer in the sex-video. To make matters worse, he has to keep an eye on April and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid - even though she doesn't know that he was the anonymous man she had sex with. Jordan has always been a playboy and not the type to fall for any of his partners, but for some reason he's addicted to April and can't get her out of his head. The more time they spend together the more consumed they become, and sooner or later the truth, like it always does, will out.

Let me just start off by saying that this book BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER. Not to be too much of a cynic, but I never have high expectations for sequels or spin-offs just because they never really live up to the expectations set by the original. I loved the first three Gaming the System novels that featured Adam and Mia and believed they would always be my favourite...
Now... I'm not so sure.

I tried to force my eyes away from his chest, his bulging arm muscles, that sexy-as-hell tattoo. God, he was just too yummy to be real. Was it a requirement to have hot male-model looks in order to run this damn company? And be filthy rich and brilliantly intelligent on top of it?
Oh, and to be so perfect that he was arrogantly and insufferably full of himself. I reminded myself not to forget that.

I'm not going to lie, I was the first to jump up and say JORDAN FAWKES IS AN A-HOLE!
That was my opinion of him before I read his book.
Even now, Jordan is still an a-hole and a jerk and a meanie pants and wow if I was April I would probably be the most mousiest assistant of all time. But I have to give April props, girl's got some serious balls to be able to stand working for him. I'd be downright terrified.
He's COCKY, ARROGANT, sometimes downright rude and pretty obnoxious, but in the end means well.
"Oh so you can be a jerk as long as you mean well? Because Beast in Beauty and the Beast almost back-handed Belle but it's okay because he was in love with her."
No, that's not what I'm saying at all....okay...maybe it is kind of what I'm saying, but I think that's because I have problems. I think I like that sort of abuse where the guy is sort of an ass to the girl but it's only because he cares a lot about her.... Wow... I clearly have problems. Maybe I need to go revaluate my life and taste in men.

Aside from the scandal, the hot CFO, and the cute intern, the Gaming the System series has to be one of my favourite series of all time, because of the sole fact that it RESONATES WITH GEEKS.
Being a huge nerd, I related a lot to this book and the series because of how DOWN-RIGHT NERDY it is. From her Star Wars and Doctor Who references, to the struggle of being up till four AM playing an MMO and asking yourself, "Where the hell did the time go?", Aubrey integrates her vast knowledge of geek culture into a book that all geeks can relate to.

I figured I'd play for another half hour or so before throwing in the towel and getting some shut-eye.
The next time I looked up at the clock, it was four a.m.
Four. Freaking a.m. And I had to get ready for work in two hours.
The game had sucked hours of my life in immersive amusement and I hadn't even realized it. At all. Man, this stuff was better than crack. No wonder so many people loved it so much.

The last thing that I wanted to touch on only because it hit so close to home was April's character and her development in the book. Many people would see April as... not the strongest most independent female lead, but I will admit she has balls and develops well over time. She wants to break from her goody-two-shoes persona and wants to be more outgoing - although I don't know if a sex-video going viral was what she had in mind - but the reason she wants to break free is because she's tired of being walked all over or seen as weak. A lot of her personal growth comes from Jordan and his belief in her. He teaches her that she's worth more than she thinks and has the ability to stand up for herself if she wants too. Sometimes all we need is a good push and someone to believe in us. And to me that is something extremely attractive in a partner. If only we could all meet some hot nerdy guy to play video games, have wild sex with and believe in us too....that is the dream....

I had my reservations about For the Win but now I'm completely on board! Jordan Fawkes is as addicting as he is annoyingly arrogant, but I'll GLADLY take him arrogance and all. I IMPLORE all geeks to pick up this book and the rest of the Gaming the System series as they are truly fantastic reads that I'm sure will hit close to home.

••*´¨`*•.☆• 5 STAR REVIEW- NEW RELEASE ••*´¨`*•.☆•

For the Win (Gaming the System Book 4)
By Brenna Aubrey
http://amzn.to/1IcqhxW

April Weiss doesn’t normally do dumb things. Unless you count the time she got drunk and got a hideous “tramp stamp”. Who knew that said tattoo would be her downfall. A "tramp stamp" that is plastered all over the internet after a Comic Con sex tape is leaked to the internet with April as the star.

April is hoping that her internship at Draco Multimedia will be just what she needs to get into business school. Having a letter of recommendation from their CFO will be just what April needs to be on her way. That is until a steamy video is released showing a Draco employee engaging in some Comic Con cosplay naughtiness.

Jordan Fawkes is the super sexy, boss from hell that holds April’s fate in his hands. Will Jordan go easy on April or will he hold her little secret over her head and play it for all it’s worth?

April had no intention of uploading that video. It was just supposed to be another impulsive move to get her mind off of current events going on in her life. It’s not every day that your mother runs off and marries your ex-boyfriend. All April planed on doing was having a one night stand with the guy dressed as Falco, one of the characters from the video game her company makes. No harm done right? Wrong!

Unlike April, Jordan knew exactly what he was doing that night at Comic Con. He knew who his one night stand was. Hoping that their hot night together would be all he needed to rid her of his system, Jordan was sadly mistaken. If anything it made her want it more. All he had to do was get through her internship and then he could forget all about how her body felt on top of and beneath him. Easier said than done.

The sexual chemistry between Jordan and April is undeniable. There are so many times throughout this book that you think they are going to give into their desires and you are left hanging, but not without a little tease. Jordan tries to play the role of “boss from hell” perfectly, but there is just something about April that makes that difficult for him. Will April and Jordan give in to their desires or will their relationship but strictly business?

I have to say, I could identify with both April and Jordan’s characters. They were both the way they were because of their relationships, or lack there of, with their parents and past life experiences Jordan decided love wasn’t worth it and April found it difficult to stick up for herself. It isn’t until April is pushed into a corner that Jordan is forced to make a decision, will he stick up for her and do the right thing or will he just stand in the crowd?
I really enjoyed this book and while it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. This book is fun and sexy and felt real. Usually the books that involve a sexy CEO and their intern feel a little far fetched. For the Win was a book that was more realistic, the characters were relatable and had flaws just like us. I was rooting for them and shouting at them all at the same time. I love when an author can make you feel connected to their characters. I would highly recommend not only this book, but the whole series.

Welcome to Gaming the System

I was really looking forward to getting to know Jordan Fawkes better. We've seen him in the first three books and I thought that he was one of those characters that deserved his own story, because through the brief interactions he's been part of so far, it was clear that there was more to him and I found that very intriguing.

This is hands down my favourite book in this series. I can’t help it, Jordan and April are my new favourite book couple. I like them individually but I love them together! How could I not? They complement each other very well and when push comes to shove, they stand by each other.

Personally, I feel that with this installment the Gaming the System series has grown leaps and bounds from the epic mess that is Adam and Mia.

description

April is a gaming n00b, social chameleon and book loving new intern at Draco Multimedia.
What I like most about April is how relatable she is. Personally, I’ve been there and done that to the whole bringing my books to the party, sneaking off to a dark corner so I can engross in my books instead of socialising (I still do that at the occasional family birthday). But it’s not just personally April speaks to me, I’ve been in jobs that I had to suffer through for future career opportunities. This sucks under the best of circumstances, but it quickly becomes intolerable if your boss or co-workers are out to get you!

description

Jordan Fawkes is the sinfully hot surfer CFO of Draco Multimedia, on the surface he's a bad-boy, however, you don't have to dig deep to realise that he has dealt with his fair share of hurt, betrayal and disappointment in his past, all of which has lead to his bad-boy persona. I feel that Jordan is harder to relate to than April, but only till you start getting to really know him. Most of us can recognise some of the struggles he’s been through, and with such experiences in the bag, it’s hard to live life as an open book!

It's a breath of fresh air to have two leading characters where they're both comfortable with their sexuality. None of them are virgins. None of them has dominant or kinky tendencies. Sex is a part of life that should be enjoyed, so it truly is great to read a book where it's more about their chemistry and feelings for one another.

Of course there's still drama, but it's not overwhelming and it doesn't steal attention from the plot. So all in all I'd say that Brenna has redeemed herself, at least in my eyes, and I'm so excited to get to know the next couple she introduces us to.

This book was so much fun to read! It’s the typical boss/assistant trope, but with a fantastic twist that I loved – the boss and assistant unknowingly end up starring in a sex tape that goes viral. ;)

The blurb of this book hooked me in and I wasn’t disappointed. I may not have LOVED everything about For the Win, but it was a worthwhile read that I enjoyed a lot. It’s hot and sexy, with tons of sexual tension between the main characters, and there’s a good amount of witty banter flying between them too. I was rooting for Jordan and April from the very start.

April Weiss is in trouble – the hot hookup she recorded at Comic-Con was uploaded onto the Internet without her knowledge and has gone viral, and the company she’s interning at is in hot water because of it. They don’t know that she’s the star of it, but she’s terrified of losing her internship if they find out. Not that her internship is going so well either – she’s assisting the boss from hell: Draco Multimedia’s CFO Jordan Fawkes.

Jordan relishes making April’s life a living hell, but with a specific reason. He’s the one she recorded her sex tape with, and he had no idea their encounter was ever even recorded. He’s furious at April, but she doesn’t know she slept with him, and he intends to keep it that way. What Jordan doesn’t expect is the insane chemistry that just keeps getting hotter as they keep working together. Jordan wants April bad, and try as he might to resist, once with her just wasn’t enough.

“I can’t get that night out of my mind,” he ground out as he kissed his way all over my neck and exposed chest. “I think about it all the time.” His fist tightened again in my hair, as if with renewed frustration. “How hot it was to fuck you. All i can think about is how much I want to do it again.”

For the Win can be read as a standalone, so reading Mia and Adam’s first three books in the series isn’t necessary. We get both Jordan and April’s POVs in this novel, which I liked. Jordan was a supreme ass to April as her boss, which I didn’t like. He grew on me later on, becoming a better man, but he was certainly a jerk to her multiple times. April surprised me – she was a pushover who let people walk all over her, but she manages to grow a backbone and fight for herself. I admired how much she changed and her character grew throughout the book.

I enjoyed a lot of this book, but my only complaint is how slow the romance was between April and Jordan. I liked their characters and I liked the writing, but plot-wise, it moved a bit too slow for me. I wanted to see MORE of the romance – but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy the romance at all, because I did. The tension between Jordan and April was well-written, and they’re explosive in bed. So other than the romance being slow, For the Win is still a highly entertaining read.

Love this and some parts I wanted to growl at the characters. First these two April and Jordan are messed up by members of their families. It affects how they do things. Also for Jordan who was a nice guy before his best friend/girlfriend squashed him like a bug. Poor dude. This turned him into a minor douchecanoe than add his dad and we get the big rat douchecanoe. he does show signs of nice guy and caring but they are few and far between. Upon April coming into his life she made him want to be better. She made him want more. He was getting sick of his lifestyle before but after April enters his world he really wants a change. She makes him feel alive again but he is angry. Angry at her for her doing something that puts his dreams in jeopardy. She didn’t mean it. She didn’t even realize she did it but she felt guilty over it.

april is a sweet girl. Her insecurity comes from not really belonging anywhere. Her mom is a horrible person. She is selfish and only cares for april when she needs something. Her latest action towards april was wretched. Her dad loves her but showed love via money and not time. She has no self esteem and questions herself. Jordan helps her become more confident and find a voice. April helps Jordan to accept his situation and want to become himself again. He shows her it is okay to be nice and do what is right even if it hurts.

they have a mercurial relationship. They are attracted to each other but Jordan is angry at her. April is hidden in her shell and takes the crap he hands to her. Jordan is trying to get a response. When they finally have a breakthrough wow. the explosiveness is just wow. They learn about each other and become emotionally bonded. they care and want to be something for each other. He wants to help her find her voice and herself. she wants him to be who he is. they come together in and out of bed and it is so intimate and special in both ways. than we have a incident that throws Jordan off kilter, April loses her faith in him and he must gain it back. His gesture was incredible and shows the character he has.

We see characters from previous books and where they are now. They helped shape decisions that Jordan and April made. their journey was difficult, at times frustrating but in the end beautiful as April finds strength and support in Jordan. The other interns wow they are some angry nutters. It’s a clique in all ways. We see the mentality of the characters thoroughly and their motives. IT is the interns that will truly have you growl. Their antics are just reprehensible. He became a better person and found love and support with April. These two are beyond cute together. They are each others support and rock. they anchor each other and build each other up. for Jordan he begins to do what’s right and April becomes more self confidant.

a fun at times book with a reforming of a douchecanoe and a mouse finding herself and a voice with the help of each other and the love and respect they have for each other. this is the journey of Jordan finding acceptance with his dueling personalities and becoming a better person with the help of love and April finding confidence and a voice with the support of Jordan and his honesty. The story of their love is sweet and mercurial and one smexy moment after another. A great journey of the tale of two individuals finding themselves and each other.

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review of this book*

I just knew Jordan's story was gonna be good...

April Weiss is a Business School Hopeful with a questionable set of friends, working as an intern under Hot Bad Boy Billionaire Jordan Fawkes proves to be quite a challenge but, unbeknown to her, he's the anonymous, costume-clad hookup she had at the Comic-Con where she videoed the best sex of her life and 'accidentally' uploaded it to the internet... if only she knew that's why he's putting her through her paces...

Jordan Fawkes is a cold-hearted, womanising, self professed rat-b@stard and CFO of Draco Multimedia... he knew that April was the girl in the Elf costume all along, but he didn't count on her videoing their steamy sex session and uploading it to the internet... now the video's gone viral and Adam (his best friend and CEO) is out for the blood of the employee(s) who dared to drag his company through the mud... so accident or not, he'll get his karma with the beautiful April... but will he be able to keep his identity a secret, and will it come at a price?...

Brenna's writing captured me yet again with this steamy story... it was attached to my hand at every opportunity...

We get to know the main characters in alternating first person POV's... they both have flaws, insecurities and similar family and ex partner issues... I read a review that said the reader didn't understand why all of the family drama and the 'Cari situation' was in this book... well, because of that we learn why they behave and feel the way they do, what makes them tick, we see them at their highest, lowest, best and worst.

I loved the character development and we experience all of the above with them... it's a highly emotive journey, it's funny, witty and I even found myself shedding an emotional tear or two near the end... also, the sex scenes are pretty damn hot *fan's face* who knew geeks could be that sexy ;)

I've read all of the previous books in the Gaming the System series... you don't have to do that in order to enjoy this book, but I would definitely recommend it as there are a lot of references to the rest of the series... also, we catch up with Mia and Adam from the first three books, Cari is still being a psycho stalker and William is up next in a story of his own which should be an interesting read...

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed it... the writing and content was lovely and I'd highly recommend it to lovers of New Adult Romances aged 17+

4.5 stars!

I had a feeling this book was going to amazing and it totally was. I'm not even sure how to put it. It was like candy for both the brain and body. Sort of like realizing the person you're crushing on for their good looks is interesting and amazing too. I really shouldn't have been so surprised, It is a book set in the gaming world and smart is totally the new sexy. Plus it's written by Brenna Aubrey and she's got some amazing writing game.

When I say this book was hot, I mean like it was scorching hot. April and Jordan really burned up the pages with their chemistry. I think for me it was partly because their relationship was forbidden and they had so much invested in their jobs, but also because how they couldn't stay away from each other, even with the the threat of discovery looming over their heads.

I loved April. I could really relate to her angst over her parents, her fears at fitting in at work, at what she wanted to do with her life, and more. I really felt like I connected with her. When it came to Jordan, I like him, lusted after him, but also wanted to hit him a couple of times when he said or did something I felt was ridiculous. I did grow to love him though. He showed moments of maturity and sincerity that blew me away. I absolutely love dialogue and banter, and these two were wonderful when it came to that!

Another thing I loved about this story was some of the topics it addressed. A lot of them are very relevant and raised some very important questions about how women are treated in the work force compared to men. I was really impressed with the way a number of situations were addressed and handled. The only reason this book wasn't 5 stars for me was because I didn't feel like the person who was responsible for a lot of the chaos April and Jordan experienced was dealt with. I'm usually not vindictive, but what this person did and wanted to do was disgusting and it just felt wrong that I/readers wouldn't get to see this person getting what was due to them.

Thankfully, the series isn't finished yet, and I'm hoping the threads that were left open will be closed at a later date. I loved seeing Mia and Adam. I really need to go back and get up to date with everything that has happened between them. I loved being in April and Jordan's heads and I hope to read about them again in the future. This series keeps getting better and better, and I can't wait to read more!

Holy crap! I loved this book! Like, actually freaking LOVED it.
Jordan and April have just punt-kicked Adam and Mia (from the original trilogy) to the curb in this kick-ass spin-off (or more accurately continuation) novel to the Gaming The System series.

I didn't think I'd like Jordan. I really, truly, hand on heart didn't because the guy was a bit of an arrogant git in the previous books. Plus, April wasn't exactly endearing in her past appearances either. So, despite the fact I was curious and wanted to read the book, I was 100% prepared for the likelihood that I would not like it because of them. I am so happy I was so wrong!
April is nothing like she seemed and Jordan... Ah man. I LOVED that man. Seriously, buh-bye Adam!

Jordan was everything that annoyed me in previous books, he didn't have a personality transplant, but he was so much more and, I am not going to lie, with the "so much more" element the dude melted my panties and stole my heart.
Yes, there were moments when I wanted to nut-punch him (for example, keeping his role in the video from April for so long) and I wanted to hug April a whole lot for what she goes through, but the ups-and-downs of their relationship and story felt realistic and generated some amazing feels... Jordan falls hard and redeems himself from any asshattery in a big way, proving that April is first for him, and it was just epic.

April goes through some major crap in this book but I enjoyed watching her grow. She is such a likeable character, flawed but a good person. I actually liked her more than Mia, because she's nothing like Mia, and I found her easier to relate to.

I found the story to be more engrossing and far easier to read than the first three books. Please don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed Adam and Mia's journey. It put me through the wringer, pushed my buttons, made me think and, while not being comfortable to read at times, was worth the investment of time and emotion. However, this book - For The Win - was easier to read, easier to enjoy, the characters easier to love... Necessary, I guess, when it's a one book tale, and I was grateful for the lighter but in no way fluffy read.

I also really loved the glimpses of Adam and Mia throughout, and the set-up of the next book in the series featuring William.

I can't recommend this book - or this author - highly enough for those who love a good romance with brains and substance.
Bring on the next one!!

Oh.my.world

I knew I was going to love Jordan's book, but what I did not expect was the major book hangover that came after reading it!!! For the Win, is now my favorite book of the Gaming the System Series. I loved Mia and Adam's incredible love story, but April and Jordan totally stole my heart!!! Brennan Aubrey writes so much details in her stories that I feel like I'm living in the same world as her characters. I will be attending Comic-Con this year, and I am positive that April and Jordan's love story will pop-up in my mind when I least expect it!

Jordan Fawkes knows what he wants. April Weiss, his intern, has been on his mind since the first moment that they met. The night of unforgettable passion that they shared at Comic-Con is consuming all of his thoughts. When a video of that night appears on every social media, he is determined to make April's life a living hell. As days go by, April gets under Jordan's skin like no one else ever did. He wants her more than ever, but demons from his past and the fact that she's his employee makes him push her away. Will Jordan break all the rules to get what he wants?

What I loved the most about this book is how Brenna Aubrey wrote April and Jordan's journey. They are so different from Mia and Adam. This is very important to me. I don't want to read about similar characters, they all need to have their own personality. I really liked that April and Jordan helped each other out with their personal problems. Jordan tried to act like a tough boss, but April took no time at all to get under his skin and make him care. These two have an intense chemistry and I loved how they slowly fell for each other. Their steamy scenes are spicy and left me fanning myself more than once!

It was awesome to see Mia and Adam again. I loved the role that they had in this book. Mia is such a wonderful person!!! April did, and said, some things that could have made Mia very upset. But no! Mia gives April a chance and offers her the gift of friendship when she most needed it. No wonder Adam fell so hard for her! Don't even get me started on Adam!!! Gah!!! Love him to pieces!!! I really loved to see him as ''The Boss''. He really cares about his employees and his company. This book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend the entire Gaming the System Series!

I give For the Win, by Brenna Aubrey, 4.5 fast-paced, page-turning, steamy, exciting, falling for Mr. Inappropriate stars!

For the Win
Brenna Aubrey

This ARC was given by Brenna Aubrey in exchange for an honest review.

I give this book 5 stars.......

April Weiss is a beautiful, intelligent, and hardworking intern at Draco. She is assigned to be the assistant of Jordan Fawkes, who is the hot, brilliant young CFO. Her latest position as his assistant will hopefully give April a letter of recommendation into the UCLA College of Business grad program. Sadly, her personal life is not nearly as successful as her professional one. Her family is a hot mess that leaves her with no self worth or confidence when it comes to her own self value. After receiving information about her deceitful mother and her most recent ex from college, April decides to have fun and have hot sex with a stranger. After many drinks, she decides recording the hot sex with the very sexy stranger would be a great way to remember the one time fling.

However, it's not all fun and games when her sex video goes viral and threatens the future of Draco and the careers of April Weiss and Jordan Fawkes. The video does not reveal either party's identity, however it does show April's tattoo and an employee badge with Draco written on it. Now that Draco is pulled into the middle of the exposé, it has the potential to ruin the company's chance to go public on the Stock Market.

Jordan Fawkes is a brilliant, sexy, successful bachelor who runs the finical reins at Draco. He is Adam's best friend and right hand man at Draco. Which makes it even more difficult when Jordan decides to lie to Adam and not tell him he is part of the involved party in the sex video. He is determined to work twice as hard to keep the bank investors involved with the IPO of Draco. His new intern/assistant is about to make his job even more difficult when he realizes he can't get her out of his mind or bed. He thought if he had sex with her one time, he would get her out of his thoughts and it would be over. At least that is how it works with all of the other women he's been involved with in the past. However, each time he gets close to April he wants more....needs more.

I truly enjoy reading Brenna Aubrey's books and I loved the characters in this book. I love that the characters have instant attraction, but not instalove. It also gives some more insight to Adam and Emilia and how horrible the interns were to her once she got involved with Adam. Their story draws you in to see if their attraction can lead to love.

4.5 STARS!

Millionaire CFO Jordan Fawkes is a jerk. He is a love and leave them kind guy. His past has made him this way and he never looks back. During one night at Comic-Con he hooks up with an intern. He knows its wrong, but he wants her. She will have no idea who he is. But then there’s a problem. A big one. A certain tape with an intern begins to circle the internet. And that intern? April Weiss becomes his assistant. She just has no idea that Jordan also plays a role in that video.

This was so much more than the usual boss and intern story. It does not follow the typical storyline. Jordan and April had such a strong connection. It is not instant. It develops over time. Watching them fall effortlessly for each other was quite entertaining. We learn that under that hardened exterior, Jordan is quite funny and charming. And can we talk about devastatingly handsome he is? (Sorry Adam!). He and April are quite the match. But, both have walls around their hearts to protect themselves. What made it interesting is that they had very different reasons. April never felt good enough. That she never deserves the benefit of the doubt. And Jordan? His heart was broken into pieces and never have been pieced back together. But April made those shattered pieces not ache as much. And Jordan? He made April see that she is worthy of so much more. Maybe even worthy of being loved.

“I never changed my mind, April. You changed my heart.”

And Jordan changed my heart as well. Sigh. What I love most about this series and this author is that it doesn’t follow the rules. She breaks them and makes up her own rules. The character development is out of this world. She allows you to truly get to know her characters as they are fun, quirky, nerdy, and just so well rounded. The story line is always engaging and you easily get lost. For The Win was no different. I found it very hard to put down this book.

For The Win is a brilliant addition to this series. Jordan and April’s banter, their journey to love, and the rest of the characters are a true testament to the author’s talent in writing a captivating and engaging story about love and finding it in places least expected. I am so excited about what’s to come in this series. We get Liam’s story? I. Cannot. Wait.

I have been looking forward to For The Win since reading and loving the first three books of Brenna Aubrey's Gaming the System series. This is truly a 5 star experience once again (and as an avid romance reader, I usually give 3's and 4's)!

Jordan Fawkes is twenty-five and the CFO of a successful video gaming company that he started from the ground up with his best friend Adam Drake. He's been burned in love before and claims he doesn't have a heart to lose anymore. Amber Weiss is a twenty-two year-old intern in his office hoping to get a good commendation for business school. A child of divorced parents, she sees herself as a social chameleon, always blending in but never standing up for herself. Jordan and Amber are attracted to each other but both are determined to maintain a professional detachment. Unfortunately they are linked together by an unorthodox event. Unbeknownst to them, an anonymous sex video is inadvertently released on the Internet. This doesn't stay secret for long. Facing this, and additional challenges, makes for a sometimes steamy, sometimes hilarious love story.

While I shook my head at the initial ridiculousness of their dilemma, it wasn't long before I became drawn in by the characters, which is why I admire Brenna's writing and what gives this book 5 stars. Her characters are multidimensional, tangible, and brilliantly realized. They are more sympathetic than than their appearances would suggest. Jordan might be an arrogant hot-shot financial genius womanizer, but it turns out he's afraid to fall in love again. Amber may be a pampered rich girl who hangs with the "mean girls", but she's actually a lonely bookworm with self-esteem issues. Brenna invests the time to develop each character's cleverness, their vulnerabilities and their charm. The romance is lovingly crafted the same way. I felt butterflies in my stomach whenever Amber and Jordan were together even though they were trying not to like each other. It was like vicariously falling in love all over again. This kind of romance is so intoxicating!

I would read this again and I hope Brenna continues to write more stories in this series.

**I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review for Wicked Women Book Blog.**

Nobody has ever made gaming sexier than Brenna Aubrey. I am in LOVE (okay, maybe a little lust too) for Brenna’s Gaming series.

Book 4 follows the wild love story of Jordan and April. What starts off as a spontaneous (recorded) romp at ComiCon, ends up being the latest hot viral video blowing up the internet. Tensions arise as April tries to hide her identity as the star of the video in order to keep her internship safe at Draco Multimedia. Little does she know that her mystery man co-star is closer than she thinks.

Once again, Brenna writes a fun, steamy roller coaster ride of a love story. April is fun, sassy, and brilliant to boot. I loved her quirky sense of humor and her fun choice of vocabulary. At one point she refers to Jordan as “licktacular”. Who wouldn’t love this girl? Jordan has quite the reputation of a playboy. Handsome, rich, and successful, everyone wants to get their hands on him. Jordan is completely okay with that, until April comes into the picture.

I enjoy stories where the main characters are trying to deny the feelings they have for each other. It is obvious that Jordan and April have an intense connection from the get go, but seeing that Jordan is April’s boss (and he treats her like crap), they both know there’s no way they can form a relationship with a future. For me, it’s all about the build and anticipation. Brenna does such a wonderful job building up the chemistry and relationship. It kept the pages turning!

I also like how Brenna shows the struggles April has to deal with in her personal and family life. Jordan has similar struggles. The two are able to bond over these issues, and in turn help mend or put an end to some unhealthy relationships in their lives.

One of the most exciting things for me was when I read the last chapter of the book. I have been dying to read this character’s story, which is Brenna’s next project. It is going to be fabulous! Want to know who I’m talking about? You’ll just have to read “For The Win” to find out!

I must admit I had not read the other books before this one but when I read the synopsis for this book; I was intrigued and knew it would be something I would like to read.

I was not wrong; this was such a great story.

Jordon finds out that there is a leaked sex tape of him and his assistant the twist is that she does not even know that her boss (Jordon) knows about the tape. Jordon makes April’s life hell. I mean, through my kindle across the room at some of the way he treats April.

While I was reading this I was concerned at how April was treated not only by Jordon but others in her life which made feel sad for her, she is a sweet girl and one that does not want to upset anyone or cause any problems and I just felt for her. She tries to leave the job but Jordon will not let her, see he is evil at times.

Jordon is convinced that April released this sex tape and will stop at nothing to find out why.

I started to wonder if Jordon will change towards April or will he always be a jerk, his characteristics are that of a self-opinionated, arrogant pain in the ass and the worst of it is he is charming while doing it. I found myself hating him one minute and loving him the next, he is that complex.

There are other dynamics in this book that makes it so good to read and really get your teeth into.
You will have to read it for yourself to see if April did release the tape or if Jordon actually starts to act like a human being towards her, I am not going to spoil it.

What I will say is that if you like books that have a scandal in them with a self-opinionated, arrogant sexy man then you will love this book.

The first three books in Brenna Aubrey's Gaming the System series definitely had its ups and downs for me. As much as I liked Adam and Mia and enjoyed the nerd angle (which was, admittedly, what drew me to the series in the first place), I felt like it was too drawn out. Their story could've been told in one or two books, IMHO. But, I liked the world she built, her characters and writing, so when I learned she was writing a fourth book for the series, this time following a new set of characters, I was all in. Especially after the tease at the end of At Any Moment with the sex tape. Cosplay and sex tapes? Yes, please.

Jordan and April were a fun couple to follow. I enjoyed the forbidden angle of their romance. I also liked watching them come to realize that they were already WELL acquainted with each other. They had tons of chemistry and their sexy times were HOTT. It was easy to root for them, even as I occasionally wanted to wring Jordan's neck. April struggles during the book, which only endeared her more to me and Jordan comes through and winds up being a great guy. Both Jordan and April grew quite a bit during this book, which only made it that much better.

This was a quick read and a well-written book. I'm anxious to see what Brenna will do with Will's story in For the One. I'm already looking forward to it.

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.

Jordan Fawkes is a millionaire bad boy who has done a bad bad thing! Not wanting anyone to know his life begins to spiral out of control but what's a man to do when all roads point to the very sexy April Weiss, a woman he should stay very far away from.

April Weiss may have pushed one too many buttons on her phone and after a night of partying and sin the evidence is out there for the whole world to see. The only possible thing that could make it worse is that her boss from hell knows she's in the tape. Terrified she is going to lose her job she is at Jordans mercy... fortunately for her that is exactly where she wants to be!

This is the second book I have read by Brenna Aubrey and I am hooked! The first book I read was "At any price" book 1 in this series and I loved that book as well. This book is funny, sexy, and heartbreakingly romantic.

I felt bad for both Jordan and April, more so with April because I never know how to work my phone and could see myself sending something out that I should not.

I loved that Brenna is so talented that she was able to bring me on a emotional roller coaster where I was laughing, crying and crossing my fingers wishing them luck at all the perfect times. This book is selling right now on amazon for 4.99 and I would pay more for it if I had to. Great job Brenna and please give me more ASAP!
