When, in a moment of irritation and frustration, Derek accidentally-on-purpose dislocates Stiles shoulder, the whole pack react strongly to protect Stiles from further harm. Stiles, knowing Derek better than anyone, swears it was an accident and that Derek simply forgot himself for a moment—being rougher with Stiles than is safe for a human because subconsciously Derek thinks of him as pack (and more).
In truth, the excuse is weak, with Stiles justifying Derek’s behaviour because he knows he cares about him. It was all very “he hits me because he loves me,” which is just wrong, but because of who these characters are and the circumstances of the moment, I was able to forgive Derek’s careless/violent actions to a degree. Call me bias, but in my fangirl eyes there isn’t much I wouldn’t forgive where Derek is concerned, however unhealthy or wrong it would be in reality.
Beyond the uncomfortable set-up, I did love how everyone around Stiles spoke their mind on the issue and showed they cared about his wellbeing. And as for Derek, he thinks of Stiles as a potential mate, and although his actions were careless, he truly would do anything to keep Stiles safe, happy and whole, which is always a good thing where these two are concerned.
Because of the themes, this one won’t be for everyone, but I mostly enjoyed it.
At a pack training thing, Derek totally, accidentally, dislocates Stiles' shoulder. Everyone freaks out, Stiles tries to settle them down, because he and Peter know what it was really about- Derek forgot Stiles was human- he was just pack.
And then there was a nice discussion about mates, and Stiles being too young, and some dry humping and a blow job. NIIICE!
This one didn't work for me. Technically/ grammatically the writing was passable, but the author's command of prose was clunky and with unnecessarily complex sentence structure. I think the author had a plot bunny with potential here, but didn't develop / portray it well enough to either make more sense or not be creepy. Basically the author wanted to skate on a fine line between possessive acceptance of the pack and domestic abuse - slippery slope that wasn't explained well enough to be pulled off.
I'm kinda on the fence about this. I didn't necessarily like the incident that put the ball in motion but I seriously can't complain about the consequences it reaps.
Hhhmm, so this was an odd one and didn't really work for me. On the one hand it was pretty well written and it was engaging enough. However, I just can’t get on board with this, as the whole premise is around a violent act that kind of felt like it was never really dealt with fully/properly. And really I just felt that however it is explained or worked around, I just didn't want that happening...
I mean I get what the author was trying to do and I understand why Stiles forgives this and doesn't make Derek grovel more, but it still felt like it wasn't really resolved well - it felt a bit too close to real life abuse rather than the usual messing about between Stiles & Derek.
I dunno, violence between the boys, unless its low level shoving around stuff, is just not my thing. I want Derek to PROTECT Stiles, not hurt him.
I'm on a Sterek kick today and so far all of them have been really good! This is a nice short one. I liked Stiles and I liked Derek and I liked Stiles and Derek together.
I'd love a sequel! Because this was seriously good and I'd love to see them actually mating.
This was a pretty good story. This is a Sterek fanfiction story. For those of you that don't know...Sterek fanfic is based off 2 male characters, Stiles and Derek, from the TV show Teen Wolf. In the show they're both heterosexual but some viewers have fantasized about them together in a m/m relationship and thus Sterek was born. This story is short enough it's hard to tell but it seems to be in a vaguely TV show like world.
Stiles is over at Derek's house with the pack and ends up getting hurt by Derek. It freaks everyone out and there's some conflict because of this but Stiles realises that Derek didn't mean to and was surprised when Stiles yelled in pain. As the issue gets worked out it becomes apparent that Derek sees Stiles as part of the pack and forgot his strength. More accurately, he sees Stiles in a very particular position within the pack but since Stiles is too young they decide to just date for now.
This was an enjoyable short. I have to admit that for as short as the story was, it still felt pretty complete. Overall, it was a pretty good little story. :-)
