About the author

It was at an early age K.L. discovered that she was destined to be nothing more than a (witty) muggle. From there, she realized she was not whatsoever athletically gifted, an evil genius, or the next prophesied jedi. One thing she was, however, was a dreamer. As a result, some of her best friends and biggest influences growing up were the characters from her favorite books.

The passion behind K.L.’s writing comes from the ability to be anyone and do anything, and because she can share the multiple personalities living in her head without anyone judging her—much. When not writing, she can be found haunting the local coffee shop, killing zombies, or spoiling her only child, Lily, the small poodle with the big attitude.

I have no words for this book that both excited me and broke my heart. It was an amazing roller coaster and the author had me on the edge of my seat the whole ride through. I laughed, I cried, I drove my husband crazy with unintelligible 'fangirl' moments and I am anxiouslyawaiting for the third book.

This series has completely swept me away. I was so consumed by this story and the characters. I was laughing and crying and anticipating. This is an amazing story! There is nothing to not love about this series. It contains everything I want in a book: love, hate, mystery, battle, twists & turn. When I felt like I was living in the middle of the story. I thought I knew how this book was going to end but was surprised by a major twist!! The ending of this book had me absolutely dumbfounded and blown away. I hope the next book come out quickly because I am sitting on pins and needles right now! Thank you K.L.Pennington for allowing me to take this journey along with the Guardians and their friends. Great book for YA readers as well as adults.
