This book has radiantly beautiful illustrations, celebrates story, and has positive messages about family bonds and how we can rewrite sad real-life stories to give them a better endings. That's what saved this book for me; if not for that, I'd give it one star for the climax solution.

Spoiler alert, I guess... Can you spoil the plot of a picture book?

Sofia has to shoot a bow and arrow, but she doesn't know how. Merida comes in out of nowhere and tells her that if she believes in herself, the arrow will hit the target every time. Why is this necessary? Couldn't Sofia have taken archery lessons and become grateful for her dedication to learning a skill, now that it counted in a crisis situation? Or maybe Merida could have stepped in and helped, showing how her own passion and diligence could help save the day. Instead, we have an implausible solution that is neither satisfying, logical, or beneficial to children.

This story is really cute. I enjoyed reading it but there were some things that were different than the episode it was based on and the differences made less sense than the episode did. The writing was also a little choppy and the whole book could have been a lot better with some extra details. The pictures were really good though and I enjoyed looking at them as I read the story. Overall I enjoyed the book and think fans of Sofia will enjoy it too even if it could have been done better.

The story of Sofia becoming the "storykeeper" and therefore responsible of giving endings to true stories is an wonderful example of extending the story and changing it's outcome. Readers might feel the urge to change the endings of stories they've read or lived after reading this. Sofia's wold is magical and the illustrations in this book makes it so real like your with Sofia yourself Other themes touched upon are: belief in yourself will allow you to achieve great things; and family is family regardless of differences. Recommended, especially for fans of princess's stories. And of course Disney and Sofia the first

Sofia the first is a kind sweetheart that everyone will love and she's the true meaning of a princess

01-09-2016 The story of Sofia becoming the "storykeeper" and therefore responsible of giving endings to true stories is an excellent example of extending the story and changing it's outcome. Readers might feel the urge to change the endings of stories they've read or lived after reading this story. The illustrations are attractive and rich with detail, and although Sofia's world is magical, the conflict and resolution are relatable to less fantastical stories. Other themes touched upon are: belief in yourself will allow you to achieve great things; and family is family regardless of differences. Recommended, especially for fans of princess's stories.

My daughter is enchanted by this book! We received a copy for review and she squealed when it arrived and immediately wanted to read it about 1,000 times in a row. She loves it, and so do I--beautifully illustrated and a sweet story!
