“How did you know it was love?” “It never really hurt this much before” In her debut collection of poetry, Saiber intimately dwells into the magic of love, sparkled with the essence of life and loss. Each poem is crafted with inspiration from heartfelt emotions immersing the readers into a beautiful, haunting love affair with her writing. The book encompasses little romantic enigmas under the stars and in between the sheets all unique in its simplicity and honesty. The words touch the readers’ heart and resonate with them, epitomizing that they are not alone in the way they feel. Beautifully illustrated and tenderly inked, Stardust and Sheets will take you on a homeward journey to your heart and return you in between the stars.
A word weaver by nature, Saiber , 21, is a story teller by choice and a poet by heart. Her writings reflect life in all its glory and tragedy. Her words, raw and pure, connect with people and remind them what it is like to be human- to love, to hurt and to heal.
Rich in emotions and fierce in its truth, her writings explore human and personal experiences in all its shaking, tender bravery. She becomes an unrelenting force of sincere, fearless writing with her heartrendingly honest prose and poetry.
A firm advocate of nap-time anytime anywhere and cat and dog people unity, she passes her time daydreaming about shopping, kissing in library and adopting a pet panda.
When she is not writing she is busy collecting stories and sparkles and pretending she is not addicted to the internet.
This is my very first book. A collection of love poems that I wrote in the Fall of 2013.
I remember being a little girl and my mother giving me books as presents. And my god those were my favourite gifts. Reading a book was something close to magical, like having a best friend with the best stories to tell. I remember looking at them and dreaming that one day I will have a book with my name printed on it.
This book is that dream come true. I am scared that this book is out there and it is no longer mine. That people might dissect it and god forbid, hate it. But I also know, that some people, will love it. They will read it in golden lamp light and head on a pillow, or maybe catch a few lines before school/work with coffee in hand or best have a few lines from it texted or written and dedicated to them. And they will smile and remember and my little book will leave its mark on the world. (I am no stranger to having my work out there. I posted a lot of stuff online before I even had the guts to make this collection and mail it to a publisher.) And now, I do it on a irregular regular basis on my website. So I know some poems work for some people and some don't and that's okay. And this is just the start of a beautiful journey.
I would like to thank Whitney Wilkinson, the cover artist and Kathleen Rule, the illustrator, for being the amazing people they are. And also Half Baked Beans for having faith in this book and publishing it.
I hope you enjoy these poems as much I enjoyed penning them down.
P.S I wasn't sure if it was okay to rate your own book a 5 star and I am just not adept at keeping the star panel empty, but then I realized I love this book when I read it (Which i did so many times while writing, rewriting, editing, re-editing and editing some more.) Haha so 5 stars it is. :')
I am tremendously honored to read and review a book written by a debut poet/writer who's been teasing and dazzling us with her poetic snippets for so long on Facebook. Saiber finally landed her book deal which led to the birth of an art piece called Stardust and Sheets.
SAS is a collection of love poems that transcend beauty and emotion in every written word. This book is a remedy for those who lost faith in the magical universal feeling of love.
I was caught in the webs of this book from its dedication which is something that rarely happens to me.
Dedicated to those who always wanted to feel a lover’s kiss in the pages of a book Credits to Saiber
Many poems stood out for me and I cannot pick just one, so I will name a few. Future Me Le Douleur Exquise Paint Me Coffee Lips Trespass Epiphany I cannot stop naming poems...I guess I loved them all haha
Noticed how beautiful the titles of the poems are?
I shouldn't forget to mention the beautiful illustrations and DA magical FONT! gosh Why aren't all books made this way? why!?
To wrap up guys, I am going to recommend this book to all of you and I wish you will read it ASAP. Give my lovely Saiber some support, not because she's a friend but because she's a talented wordsmith who needs to be credited for creating such glittery piece of art.
God bless you all.
P.S. I cannot forward the book because I am under copyrights restrictions. The book is available on pre-order on Amazon.
so I finally got my hands on 'Stardust And Sheets' I have waited for this book since some months or maybe years, and I am surprised. truly surprised with how good it is. This book is worth every penny and time that I have spent on it. Right from the front page, the book is pretty. and the illustrations are more than beautiful 'Kathleen Rtule' I believe has done a wonderful job at it. But the thing that strikes about this book the most, is the choice of words, simple and honest it captures the essence of the book. this book is about love and heartbreak which will make you feel vulnerable and peaceful at the same time. I don't even consider it a book anymore THIS IS A PIECE OF ART. a thoroughly healing experience as I complete it congratulations on your first book release Saiber you are very talented girl can't wait to read your next :) love
I have known Saiber for quite some time now. She has a spark which is unique and that has reflected in her poems as well. Saiber is a talent.
Nowhere does it feel that Stardust and Sheets is a debut book of Saiber. Every word, every essence is very well captured and reflected in the poems.
As I reader, I feel that one constantly needs to be in love to write such beautiful poems. As she takes on every aspect of love, be it love, getting hurt or healing, each word, each poem takes you into an altogether different world of love.
One more thing that I liked is the sequencing of poems. The very first poem is like as if it is introducing itself and slowly taking us into the wonderland. We are in a different world.
All my love and respect for Stardust and Sheets and also for Saiber. You deserve it all.
I'm so proud of having been one of the first people to have actually held it in their own hands, turned it over and around and read it!
Stardust and Sheets is a spill of blood, love and sentiment that will leave the reader feeling loved and safe.
This book is special. Every poem has a piece of the author's own heart in it. Every syllable has the ghost of the author's breath, and every word has you in mind. It doesn't matter who you are, this book has your back.
Saiber's 'Stardust and Sheets' is an epitome of strong yet soulful writing, nowhere subtle as it is a journey through the chaos of the Universe within ourselves. The book engulfs various manifestations of love and life.
It speaks volumes of the writer's skill and ability to engage the reader in the depths of her lines. She mesmerizes with her heartfelt and honest writing. The beauty of her words will entangle your soul. Sometimes I shed a tear, sometimes I smile, sometimes it reminds me of a very special person in my life.. The poems about lost love, the angst of losing someone, the darker side, the other world feels like falling through Dante’s Hell yet it also gives hope to make it through the stormy nights. The book embodies emotions like passion, desire, love, envy, hope, despair; summing up into… LIFE itself!
With specks of Love to Painted sorrows,'Stardust and Sheets' has it all!
I recommend Saiber's 'Stardust and Sheets' to all those who are in Love…Lost their love or well,Somewhere in between....
Beautifully written with quite simple words placed to perfection. The poems mostly bit sized are amazing like "less is more". I wonder how Saiber is able to convey every story she meant us to picture in just four to five sentences, its the book strongest point.
The cover is lovely which goes well with the theme and so does the illustrations inside. If i had to select my favorite poem from the book here, i would end up naming almost every poem.
And in the end we do realize that the kiss which was started with the opening sentence "Those who always wanted to feel a lover's kiss...", ends wonderfully with taste of lover's lips lingering forever...
Having read Saiber's notes and then her poems on her facebook page, I wasn't surprised that the book turned out to be so great.

I sat with the book the morning after my exams, with a cup of coffee, really excited and it definitely did not disappoint. I was hooked right from the start. I read the book in one day, that's how glued in I was.
Each poem is relatable and it makes you really think about how succinctly and concisely everything you've ever felt has been described in 10 lines or less.
It includes some pretty illustrations to top it all off!
All in all, a great read for when you want to sit in one corner with endless supply of coffee and just read some great poetry.
P.S. Having known her for more than a couple of years, it was great to see her grow as a writer. <3

I enjoyed every word <3 <3 <3 Thank you Saiber for the lovely gift <3 <3 will keep it with me always Stay Sparkly
Individuals in India are more helpless against read ballads and verse accumulations however then you run over some great poems like Saiber has written in her book Stardust and Sheets and after that you begin thinking and investigating the way they are composed.
Reading Stardust and Sheets simply made me feel that you require not compose hundreds and a large number of pages but rather only a section enumerating your sentiments and stream of feelings is sufficient. She has done likewise things and you then must consider ballads and her creative ability power.
I particularly preferred the poems Love Bites, A Love Affair which left something inventive in my brain.
I don’t have words to acclaim this gathering of poems that simply made me feel more obliged to the creator/artist.
It’s must read for everybody who needs to taste the center of writing.
There are very few poems that are laconic yet profound. They take you in a space where the crude nature of words impassioned by cadence of strokes alleviate every wrong in sight. It not only satisfies the reader but also the poet in you. When she writes, words seem to matter and with every beat the word exemplifies the existence of her craft. She is the lang leav of India and I hope I get my book autographed by her some day!!!
This was the first poetry book I've read and I'm really glad it was! All of these poems were amazing and made me feel all fuzzy and gooey inside! I especially like "You" and "Adventures".
I'm also really happy that I was present at the launch of the book and I really look forward to Saiber's next work! :D
I liked it. I dont read love poems but i must say reading these was a pleasant experience. The poems are very light hearted and fresh. Yes and also imaginative. I liked the longer poems better and would love to see more of them.
Stardust and sheets, when you hear the title all you think about is magic and something of love.
And yes it is all about love spilled in words ( you'll surely fall in love with word's again and over)
This is saibers debut collection of poetry.
It consists of 81 poems and a few illustrations which are brilliant put up by whitney wilkinson. When you first see the book it'll remind you of pablo neruda's- 20 love poems and a song of despair.black cover and almost the same size. The cover has been also made by the same illustrator. This book is really magical.
I got this from saiber itself at a poetry slam ( where she signed it personally and wrote a small mesaage for me Yayyyy!)
The choice of word's and topics are really amazing. Most of the poems are small and there are also long poems present in the book.
The topics range from every single aspect of love, being it long distance relationship or one sided love. Or the summer love you had. Every single poem melts your heart with awe.
This book is something I will always adore and keep going back too. This book has become one of my favourite poetry book!
It is definitely recommended for poetry lovers and everybody who is finding a refreshing read. I will rate it a 4.5/5.
I got this book from the publisher, in exchange of honest review & honest means honest in my view . The front page says that this book is a collection of love poems. But in actual many poems are short..so short hardly 4-5 lines, we cant say it poems. They are quotes . There is no rythm & some poems lack sense , no meaning to it.
Still i like 3-4 poems & quotes .Its beautifully written . " Kiss me such that I shiver, tremble & shake off all my insecurities. kiss me such that I forget, knowing you worship my body as someone who loves me. "
I told him "I see the stars in your eyes." He said to me, " You make them come alive"
But Still There are hardly around 70- 80 pages & it costs around Rs 175, which is bit over-priced .Not fair.
I received a signed copy of this book via a goodreads giveaway courtesy of the author. First off: THE COVER IS SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!! It honestly looks like someone has painted the lovely picture just for me! Thank you for the effort put in to it. Also the effort put into the poems. they are also extremely beautiful. From the cutest three lined poems to the three page ones, they are worded so well- the author Saiber seems to have thought about the use of each word. I recommend reading this book if you are looking for inspiration to write poetry or just to believe in love.
Absolutely Beautiful. I admire Saiber. The poems are beautiful written, and pretty easy to understand. Each poem has it's own significance. I usually run out of ideas when I write about the same topic, But here Saiber wrote the whole book so brilliantly. And she has so much to offer, it can be in seen her works. I read almost most of the poems, Read them as they put smile on my face. Now I just randomly open the book and read whichever poem it is. If you love poetry, then it's pretty obvious you have to get this book without a second thought.
