I read this book to Jace and Jemma (7 and 5). It was a bit over the head of my youngest but my oldest loved it and couldn’t get enough of it! I highly recommend this read aloud for 7 and up for sure. Growing up I loved books about animals that did human things and had human adventures!

I felt that this book was a slower moving book and didn't have a lot of action. If you enjoy things like that this would be perfect for you.It definitely an amazing detail to the setting and gave things a point of view from the animals side.

This book is about a female mouse who has to take care of five kids while widowed. This may sound like a case of," the woman has to take care of the kids without a man. However, the wonderful Mrs. Frisby makes many journeys to feed the cat, get medicine, go into an owl's nest, and ride on a crow. She has a lot of courage and makes up for her early husband. While maintaining the grace and elegance of a lady, Mrs. Frisby saves her son and family from illnesses galore and the planting of the crops over their home.

This book is about how Mrs.Frisby needs help to move her house in time for the tractors to come through. She gets advice to meet the rats and hears their amazing story on how they became the rats of NIMH and how they met her husband.

mrs.frisby and the rats of Nimh
by Robert O’Brien

This book is about a mouse who has to move her den before the farmer who owns the property plows his yard, which would destroy her summer home and kill her and her children. Mrs. Frisby is the mouse and Fitzgibbon is the farmer. Mrs. frisby has four children: Cynthia and Teresa are both girls and Martin and Timothy are boys. The farmer has a wife and a son. At first the farmer doesn’t know there are mice but when he figures it out, he tries to kill them.

Mrs frisby was worried to move her house because Timothy was very ill and can’t breathe cold air. The rats of NIMH help Mrs. Frisby find a safe space under a tree in a little village of other mice, to move her summer den where nobody can find it and hurt them. By then Timothy’s illness was better so Mrs. Frisby’s family could walk there. Mrs. Frisby helped the rats by putting sleeping powder in the cat’s food, which helped the rats get away.

I didn’t really like this book because it wasn’t very interesting and I didn’t really understand it. It would be more interesting if it had more adventure in it. You would probably like this book if you like books that are about
animals acting better than other animals and then releasing that they need to help other animals.

This book is fun and achin packed. It does get confusing at some times but you can catch on easly. You have to take more time to read it so you fallow around. It does have a second book that confinues the story but its very hard to find. I will recomend this book to anybody. I think all people will like this book.

I was given this book for my eighth grade reading project.I found it to surprisingly mature and advanced for being a children's book. If i was to recommend it to anyone it would be a younger sibling or friend.
