Rape. One word changed his life. Mason Tredwell had it all. He was a good looking, well-respected doctor. He had money, power, and friends. He never worried about finding a woman to warm his bed. But that all changed when he was wrongfully accused of rape. And now, after five years in prison and the loss of everything he cared about, he wanted revenge.

Abandoned as a baby and bounced around different foster homes, Kat Gingham never really had a charmed life. But now, things were really falling apart. She had no money, no job, and even her lying, cheating boyfriend was gone too. She allowed herself one night to cry about her situation before she picked herself back up. But when she woke up, she was no longer at home, and she was no longer alone. She was facing Mason, a guy who claimed she ruined his life. And he’s hell-bent on breaking her down, humiliating her, making her feel like he has all these years.

With tension flaring, questions arising on both sides, and answers truly vague, one question remains: Will Mason let Kat go or are they both in too deep?

DC Renee is a contemporary romance fiction author who tends to write stand alone novels that always shock you with a twist. She's been writing all her life. It started with adorable rhyming poems as a kid for anniversary and birthday presents, moved onto monologues and short stories as a teen, then transitioned to fan fictions before she found the courage to publish a book.

DC lives in sunny and (mostly) warm Los Angeles with her husband and their two toddlers - a girl and boy that want to "work just like mama," often climbing in her lap and "writing" on her computer. She's very close with her entire family - extended included, and her sister is her muse.

When she's not working, writing, and spending time with the family, she loves watching mindless TV, tinkering with diy projects, and of course, reading.

This was an ok read and the writing itself was fine just a bit boring, it also isn’t a dark read far from it.
The idea was imaginative a man seeking revenge over a woman he assumes has wrecked his life and career sending him to prison which was really horrific and especially considering all he has endured while locked away for a crime he was innocent of rape.
But in a case of mistaken identity, he kidnaps the wrong woman and no matter how much she professes her innocence he doesn’t believe her.

My issue was this was just so bland Mason doesn’t actually do anything to Kat other than make her prance around in a slinky maids outfit and clean and cook for him in fact the worst thing he does to her is remove her bedroom door and get her to clean the kitchen and bathrooms with a toothbrush so anticlimactic.
He scowls a lot is short-tempered and imprisons her in his home which she again has free reign of.
He professes to want to break and humiliate her to wear her down but I can’t really see how he hopes to accomplish this as he’s not really doing anything that bad to cause this.

Then there’s Kat herself who just goes along with it all even smiling she just accepts her lot and occasionally snaps at him that’s the extent of her rebellion, she just takes his word for lack of escape routes not even checking for herself.
I don’t know about you but if someone kidnapped me I’m not going to be that reasonable or cooperative she’s also never really scared but to be perfectly honest I don’t blame her Mason is just not that scary a bit of an ass yes but that’s all.
Nothing happens here except these two playing house while they flip constantly from friendly to hostile.

Then there’s the aftermath when Kat finally wins her freedom and Mason lets her go and she turns detective while refusing to engage with Mason.
It was so much unneeded angst, one minute she wants him the next she doesn’t and who cares if you're from different social circles it's not a big deal and just seems to me we were then finding any reason to create conflict.
And to be so naive and think she’s just going to get the real culprit to just come clean and even feeling sympathy towards them just no.
This ending was just so far fetched and unbelievable and there was no chemistry between Mason and Kat either.
This could have been so epic if the author had pushed it instead it was just tedious.

Roughly six years ago, Mason’s life was torn apart. Accused of a crime he didn’t commit, he lost everything. But it wasn’t just losing his life as a doctor, spending most of his money on legal expenses... it was living in a prison, and what his ‘crime’ caused him to experience while locked away. But now he’s free and the woman that accused him, well it’s her turn to experience her own prison and humiliation.

Kat didn’t have an easy life, but she was a fighter. Life threw everything it could at her, and yet she still got up and fought another day. But when she wakes up in a strange place, with a man accusing her of a crime she doesn’t remember committing, she goes with the flow (yeah, you read that right).

Sensing the wrong that has been done to Mason, Kat is determined to do whatever it takes to get him to release her, even if it means giving in to his demands. But as Kat breaks down Mason’s walls she starts to realize that she wants him to have the vengeance and the closure that he’s seeking.
Heed the author’s note. This is not a dark captive romance read. Although we do get a man that is determined to seek revenge and does so by kidnapping the person he thinks is responsible, Mason underneath all the damage is still a good guy.

I struggled with the aspect of a light, contemporary romance theme with this particular kind of read. It’s hard to get into the headspace of the characters fully when they are doing the exact opposite of what you’d expect. I am not sure if the kidnapping/captive thing really worked without going to a dark place. I almost wanted him to just seek out ruining her without taking her – or somehow manipulating her in a different way. Because I just could not get on board with the way their story played out given the place they were both at.

That being said, it was still a very well written story. But for me, I think I do need my captive stories to have grit and darkness. I want to feel bad about the way I feel about the book. And how this whole thing played out, just didn’t hit the mark for me. I think this is a perfect book for someone who likes the concept of this theme but is not quite comfortable with the dark aspect of it.

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

My rating has nothing to do with the writing; on the contrary, I think it was flawless. It probably has more to do with style and plot.

When I first read the blurb I thought this book was going to be a dark romance.

She claimed she had no clue what he was talking about, but he didn't believe her. The facts don’t lie.

Was Kat lying? Could she convince Mason to let her go? Or was fate playing a role in why they were thrown into this together.

I was so wrong. The first 20% seemed interesting enough to get me hooked, but then the story fell flat and I began to realize that this book is one of those that are written in that over-the-counter-romance-novel kind of way. I don't know how to explain this, but it is the kind of writing that goes back and forth between characters' thoughts, repeating scenes and convincing themselves about what's going on over and over again.

I kept reading and I found certain parts very amusing, even funny. The scenario was so unreal and weird, that I really laughed with the absurdity of it all. The whole kidnapping thing and the interactions were like a suspense film directed by Disney; the script was supposed to be serious, but the director just made it look like a cartoon.

I totally understand that I read a genre, a sappy romance and, I am not used to these kind of books, so maybe I can't be objective. The dialogues, especially the ones between men, felt like women were speaking to each other; and we couldn´t get rid of the typical misunderstandings due to lack of communication. I know a lot of women who like these books a lot, especially readers who are not into the "harder" or more "modern" novels out there. So I guess this book is more for them, than for yours truly.

The whole idea of the book is not bad at all, plotwise it had potential to become a true darker novel and I would have liked it much more. I couldn't get passed the fact, that Mason failed to realize what was in front of him. That he plotted for a long time and failed to verify several facts.

Anyway, I would recommend this book if you are into the whole Harlquin-ish type of novel.

4 Whoopsie Daisy Stars

Whoopsie Daisy. Uh Oh. My bad. Lots of things to say when you mess up. Just own it. Admit you are wrong and Man Up. Yes, it is easier said than done. I find if you twirl your hair and use a reallllly southern accent, most people will forgive you and move on. Oh....and say "Sugar" a lot.

Mason was a successful doctor. He dated, had friends, and loved his life. Until the day that a drug addict accused him of rape. Uh Oh. He lost his practice, his friends, and his freedom. He is pissed and calculating. Two traits you don't really want to go together. It makes a dangerous combination.

Kat grew up in foster care. She worked her way through school and has made a life for herself with a live-in fiancé. Oooops, until the day they broke up and she moved out. Now she is homeless, jobless and boyfriendless. My bad.

She is about the think that all of those would be awesome to have back. Mason has done meticulous research to find Kat, the woman who ruined his life. And now he is ready for revenge.

Let's stop right there....this promises to be a great, dark, captive read. The book did not live up the Dark Promise. It's good. It's intriguing. It has mystery, romance, second chances, moments of nail biting. But Mason was just too nice. He didn't want to be the criminal Kat accused him of being. So he takes the high ride. Well sort of the high road. Let's call it the highISH road. And the Whoopsie Daisy....neither Mason or Kat have learned to twirl their hair and speak Southern.

I loved Kat. She was one determined chica. And the best one, Benny, the best friend. Loved Benny. This is a full story....prologue to epilogue. Just how I like them. So if you have been afraid of the DARK read....dip your toe into this one. Dark, but not tooooo dark. Lets call it a Dove Grey Read.

The prologue had me, I was so interested, but then I lose interest so fast!

There was no point to this story.
Also this is not a dark romance.
It's as if the author tried to make him an anti-hero i.e. kidnapping and punishment, BUT he was NEVER that guy.

Had a HUGE potential.. until it started sounding really familiar. And when I say familiar, I mean that in terms of the good ol' phrases that's been used before. Been there, done that. It was predictable.. and I mean, really predictable.

This is only my opinion.....

Loved this book! Was definitely a page turner and I couldn't put it down. What a great plot and twist in the story. I definitely do not feel like I've read something similar. And with so many books out, that is hard to do. Looking forward to more of D.C. Renee's future books!

~~ 4.5 "Twisted Revenge" Stars ~~

I'll start by saying that I really liked this story. I was truly intrigued and attracted to this book after reading the synopsis. I was a little scared about how dark this book might get after the description of it, but I am happy to say that it isn't a dark read at all. This book deals with a kidnapping storyline, revenge, and a case of mistaken identity. I will say that this book was unlike most of the books that I have read recently. Which is a refreshing thing in itself. This book definitely had it all…. love, suspense, drama, heartache and so much more. The only reason I didn't give this book a 5 star rating was because there were some things that I had trouble believing, plus there was a part about half way in that I knew was coming but was still disappointed that the author threw that in. I personally didn't think it needed to be a part of the story. This was for a page turner and a book that was really hard to put down once you start it. It will definitely bring out all of your emotions….I was mad, happy, panting, heart broken, and overall just glad I read this book.

The story starts out with Mason getting out of prison after 5 years and showing how he is h*ll bent on getting revenge on the person he "believes" wrongfully accused him of rape. This revenge plot leads him to the kidnapping of Kat Gingham ( The person he "believes" accused him years ago. ) I will say that I truly felt bad for both Kat and Mason…..these 2 characters were dealt some pretty crappy stuff in there life. Kat's was dealt to her as a child, when she was abandoned as a baby and tossed around from foster home to foster home. Mason's crappy hand was dealt to him as an adult. He had everything….a great career, wealth, plenty of women, but then that was all taken away from him when he is sent to prison. The big difference between these 2 characters though was how they dealt with their situations. Kat was a shy and quiet girl, but was also determined to make something of herself and when push came to shove she didn't back down. Were as Mason truly a broken man, what he endured in prison was awful and I can understand why he was broken, but he thought that getting revenge and breaking Kat down was the way to feel better about his situation. I truly wasn't sure if I was going to like Mason much during this story, but it turned out that he was kind of a softy when it comes to captors. Yes he had a mean side and yes he tried to break Kat, but we also saw a sweet and tender side to him. Even though he had a plan for Kat he still wasn't willing to see her come to any harm and protected her at every cost. I loved the dynamic between Kat and Mason. They had some really good chemisty and the sexual tension was off the charts. I loved watching their love story unfold and was absolutely thrilled with how this book ended!!!!!

We meet some side characters in this story that I thought were wonderful…Trent and Benny, even Chain and John. They added a wonderful aspect to the story but really didn't take away from the main story of Kat and Mason. They were there to help Kat and Mason follow down the right path. I won't say anymore about that, you just need to read this book.

I would definitely recommend this book!!!! If you are looking for a great but unusual love story with drama, suspense, heartbreak, revenge, and some steamy scenes (oh and even a surprising twist you don't see coming) then this is the book for you. I look forward to reading more books by D.C. Renee.

5 STARS

The synopsis had me from the start , I could not wait to tear into this and find out what the heck was going on.

Mason is convinced he has the girl that ruined his life , under his control , at his home , acting as his personal slave as a form of payback for the years he spent in prison after she accused him of RAPE. The only problem is , Kat has no clue what he is talking about , or who he is ?? He thinks she is lying and she thinks he has a case of mistaken identity.

Kat decides she is going to do everything he asks of her with a smile on her face until he realizes she is not this girl and he should let her go. Mason is hell bent on adding more and more to her workload so she finally breaks and admits it was her. The majority of the book is just that. Kat trying to befriend/seduce Mason , and Mason trying to ignore/break Kat. There was no violence or sick and twisted sexual things being done it was simple , cook , clean and do what I say. You almost forget , as does Kat , that she is being held against her will after being kidnapped.

At some point Kat starts to realize she has feelings for Mason. She cannot understand why this would happen since he did kidnap her but she cannot stop them from happening and it is not going un-noticed by Mason's friends. Mason is in denial of any such thing , because how the heck could he be falling for a girl who ruined his life. They finally push each other to the edges and admit their feelings.

Despite being in love Kat is determined to leave Mason and go off and try to figure out who it is that accused him and why. Mason does not want to let her go but realizes he needs to do this so they can finally be together as a real couple. Kat meets a new friend who helps her uncover the truth , all the while keeping Mason in the dark about what she is doing.

Here is where the story gets all kinds of twisted and crazy !! NO SPOILERS from me !! It may seem slightly predictable but it did not matter to me I was already so invested in the characters that I saw beyond that and really zoned in on the emotions and struggles going on. I felt horrible for Kat , not because of the kidnapping but because of her childhood and the things unfolding for her now as an adult. The letter she is given is just heartbreaking and it is sad she never got the chance to have a "family". Mason also goes through some struggles before and after he finds out what Kat is doing for him. What an eye opener for him when he learns the truth.

The ending was beautiful , it came full circle !!

ARC received from the author for an honest review (book will be out 3/19)
I absolutely LOVED this one! The story kept me guessing. Well written, authors writing style is great!

*****SPOILERS*****

A man is wrongfully accused of a crime he did not commit. He was successful and he had a career. He also had family money and made his own. He gets sent to jail for 12 years, gets out at 5 and decided he wanted revenge.
A woman who does not remember this man. She is taken. Forced into satisfying this mans every command for his revenge.

Kat and Mason make a great couple. Benny, Mason's best friend from jail is the most incredible and likable character you will ever meet. He is so funny! He is a good person and he is the one that pushes Kat and Mason together.

Mason believes that Kat is the one that accused him, but she tries telling him every chance she gets that it was not her. He does not believe her of course. She has the same name and looks the same except for being healthier and looking like she has cleaned up. Mason was a very successful Dr. and Kat a druggie.
There is a big twist in the story and things get resolved. But during the story, while things were not clear yet, many things happened between Kat and Mason. Kat believes that she has stockholm syndrome.
They fall in love. It is very romantic and the things mason does for Kat are very swoon worthy. Very sexy steamy scenes. And this one had one of the best HEA endings I have read in a while. Super romantic.

Even though the overall premise of this book isn't something I'd normal read, I still really enjoyed it.

My favorite thing about this book is the character development. Each character has crazy good development and each character is really, really well written. Let Me Go has some the best written characters that I've ever read about.

The plot is really well paced and I was very bored while reading. The writing style is really great. Everything about this book is really well written. I can't stress that enough. All the words flow together perfectly, making it really easy to read.

Overall, this is great book. Everything is perfectly pieced together and it's a really enjoyable story. If you're looking for something new and different, definitely check this book out.

This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. This book has it all love, suspense, drama, heartache and so much more and I loved the dynamics between Mason and Kat. The secondary characters bring a nice touch to the story as well but they dont distract from the main characters.D.C. Did a wonderful job of writing this story and will defitnly recommend it to my friends when its released. I dont do spoilers so just trust me you will really want to buy this book when it comes out.

Was lucky enough to get an arc of this and loved it! so glad the author choose not to go down a very dark and emotionally difficult path which totally could have happened with the rape and the kidnapping situation. Was a very sweet, fun, light hearted, sexy read. Now, can I please get a novella or an entire novel on benny?!

This sweet mysterious story just took me by complete surprise. Going in I figured there would be some pretty dark moments between the hero and heroine even though the author did say it's not a dark romance. After all he did kidnap her. But what I found was a broken man dead set on revenge but without the evil inside to really carry out the punishment. Instead he tried to be tough but there wasn't anything that could keep these two from falling for each other. They became friends instead of captor and captive. Attraction lead to lust and lust lead to love.

Mason and Kat found a love that completed each other in the most unlikely and surprising way.

This was pure and utter romantic suspense. A mystery that kept me guessing till the very end.

The character that I really loved and hope maybe there will be a book about him is the one and only.

Benny

This guy stood by this couple the entire time and really left an imprint on my heart.

Benny was so loyal and deserves a love story. I can see him cherishing his woman but also being sort of bossy too. Love that type of guy.

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to review this story and will gladly read more from this author.

Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth

This book is unbelievably brilliant. It broke my heart at the pain and anguish rolling off Mason, and the hurt and confusion coming from Kat. You can’t help but open your heart to this unlikely hero even if he’s a stubborn and at times frustrating individual with his unshakable resolve that he has the right woman. Kat is just brilliant, she’s feisty and determined that no matter what happens she will not break. But it’s her kindheartedness that really wraps you up. Her willingness to forgive in the knowledge of understanding and her determination that she will be free.

Opening Scene:

His accuser. All he had to keep him company for the last six years was her name and a vague image in his mind; those details had been seared into his mind for him to mull over.

The Review:

Mason’s life has been ruined. He used to be a highly successful doctor with the world before his feet. That was before he was falsely accused of rape, convicted and sent to prison. Where the unthinkable happened to him. The only thing keeping him going was his promise of revenge on the woman who’d accused him.
Kat’s life is spiraling out of control. Unable to find a job, her now ex-boyfriend is a cheating rat bag and she’s about to get evicted from her apartment. If that’s all not bad enough she wakes up in a strange bed and is accused of sending a gorgeous Adonis to prison for something he didn't do and all she knows is she has never seen him before in her life. Kidnapped for being someone she’s not life has definitely taken a turn for the worse. Somehow she must get this unknown man filled with so much pain and anguish to release her. But how can she do that when he’s convinced that she’s the one who destroyed his life.

Notable Scene:

She tried to sit up when she realized one of her hands was in an awkward position and not budging. Her eyes shot above her head and quickly focused to see one of her hands was handcuffed to the bedpost. Before the inevitable panic had time to manifest, she heard a rich, rumbling voice. “Welcome to your new home.”
Her eyes shot to her left. “You,” was all she was able to make out as the panic was finally starting to bubble to the surface. it was Mr. green Eyes from her dreams. She remembered them being the most riveting deep green pools, but now all she saw was a cool, distant fury. She opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came out as her hazy mind tried desperately to process what was going on. The last thing she remembered was falling asleep after getting completely wasted. She didn't feel sore and all her clothes were still on. That hopefully meant nothing sexual had occurred, thank God for that at least. But who was this guy, what did he want with her, why was she here, and how was she going to get away?

Mason was once a prominent doctor living a prestigious life. He had a flourishing career and was admired by his peers. Everything changed for him when he was found guilty of rape in a court of law. He spent 5 years in jail. While in jail, Mason concocted a plan to seek revenge on his accuser. He has spent the last year putting together everything he needs to make his plan a success. This has included high-tech entry door keypads, soundproofing walls, putting locks on windows and following his accuser knowing her every move and every obstacle in her life, and that includes knowing that she is about to become homeless.

Nobody will miss Kat. She has no family and has been in foster homes her entire life. She has made a good life for herself getting a degree in social work, but recently has lost her job by moving to a new city. One night Kat dreams about the man with the green eyes and everything changes for her.

She barely felt the small prick on her arm before all went black and the man of her dreams faded.

When Kat awakens she is in new surroundings with Mason. Mason has sought out revenge on Kat to make her feel as humiliated as he felt in jail. Mason had some terrible things done to him in jail (nobody likes a rapist) and he is determined that Kat will feel some type of remorse for her false accusation and the subsequent demise of his life. Mason is keeping her a prisoner in his home and she is to abide by his rules.

“Welcome to your prison, Kat. Be thankful that it’s better than mine was.”

Mason’s attempts at being a prison warden don’t stand a chance against feisty Kat. Kat challenges him on a daily basis and Mason finds he is intrigued by her personality and doesn’t think she is the same person now that she was back then. He doesn’t see the strung out drug addict seeking her next hit. He sees a beautiful woman who is captivating him…oh how the tables have turned.

Is Kat manipulating him at his own game? Kat sees escape in her future if she can get Mason to have feelings for her. Will her plan work? What if there’s love involved…would she still be able to walk away if given the chance?

And just like that, the tears came and he could no longer stand. He fell into a pile on the floor, sobbing loudly. Like he just lost the greatest thing that ever happened to him. Because really, he did.

I’m a sucker for a man crying. Mason tries to be cruel and hostile, but he is just a broken man. Underneath it all Mason is a good man, and you will see that he isn’t such a bad guy. The author kept the story moving and held my attention the entire time. I look forward to reading more of her works.

This story was the most frustrating read I've read in a long time.....in a GOOD way people. Never have I wanted 2 people to see past their own issues than Mason and Kat. Mason is a tortured soul who was went through hell and no wants revenge. He was a good person, with an excellent career, he had the world by the balls, then the accusation.
Kat feels like her world is falling apart. Her boyfriend is a schlub, she has no job, and no money. What happens next will change her life forever.
Throughout the entire book you saw glimpses of the man Mason once was. He believed in his plan, for the most part. Humiliation was key to his payback, and sis he ever humiliate Kat. But he never went too far, I don't think he had it in him.
Poor Kat is clueless. Obviously talking isn't working so she goes along with whatever Mason throws at her hoping that one day he WILL believe her. She is determined he will not see her cry and slowly she finds herelf wanting to help Mason find whoever it was that ruined his charmed life.
My favorite character throughout the book was Benny. There was something about Mason's old buddy from prison that makes me want to beg for his own story. He's loyal, witty, wise beyond his years and above all he has a good heart. I'm shameless...GIVE BENNY A STORY! Ok, I'm done now.
Mason is a stubborn human being. One of the more stubborn of male leads I've read in a while(sorry Drew Kelley). I felt horrible for what he went through and just wanted to him see what was right in front of his face the whole time. Kat honestly has no clue why Mason is hellbent on revenge. When it finally comes out, she is floored. She wouldn't do that, she could never do that, but he will not believe her. With the facts stacked against her, how can she prove herself? And how can she fight the fact that Mason has become more than her captor and when the hell did that happen?
Their story isn't always a happy one, but these two are so lovable you root for them the whole time. I anted to bang their heads together more than once. Fate has a way of stepping in on our unconventional couple and forces them to face things they weren't ready to face. I adore these two characters. I hoped for the best for them. I wanted them to have their Happy Ever After. So do they? Guess you'll have to click those buy links to find out won't you?

First off, I would give this book more than 5 stars if it would let me :)I was very happy to have stumbled across this great author and had it read in like two days.

From the description I was figuring it was going to be another dark read, which is the trend I'm into right now and what I was actually looking for, but it ended up not really being that way at all. I wasn't disappointed either. This book was unlike any book I've read so far and that is what made me love it so much. It was a nice break from reading the same stuff over and over again.

It starts off with the reader knowing it's going to be about kidnapping along with accused rape but it doesn't cross into the darkness that most would at that point.

Mason has issues from being put in prison for something he did not do and is dead set on revenge against Kat. He doesn't treat Kat very well but yet he doesn't do that horrible of things to her, well if you don't count taking away her freedom, alittle humiliation and making her his maid. I was just sucked in from the beginning. It has humor, some sadness and a really good plot that just keeps the pages turning. My heart ached for both characters during certain parts of the story. I really couldn't have asked for a better book. I hope to get to read more from this author in the near future!

Now I must say yes I’m your typical judge a book by its cover type of girl, what I mean by that is it doesn't matter if a book has a good synopsis, if the cover has not caught my eye then I don’t normally read it, but with this book I saw the synopsis way before the cover came out. I was so drawn into the story.

Mason Tredwell had it all. looks, money, a brilliant career, women till one day he had it all taken away from him and is wrongly accused of rape after five years in prison the only thing Mason wants is revenge. Well what can I say Mason is a good boy with a bad side he has a heart of gold really he is snitch a strong minded man you can not help but like him.

Kat Gingham did not have a great time growing up, and the one thing that turned out good was her job that she loved but when she gives up everything to follow her boyfriend who ends up cheating on her Kat is left with nothing. She allowed herself one night to cry about her dilemma before she picked herself back up. But when she woke up, she was no longer at home, and she was no longer alone. I really loved Kat’s character with all the crap she took she still showed all us how strong she was and loved her attitude and fire thought the whole book.

With all the other characters they were great really gave the book it’s gumption especially Benny he really is a fab, I think we need a Benny in our lives.

I enjoyed the story, the relationship between Mason and Kat you really do see the struggle for them to resist their chemistry. I completely loved the writing it will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end I would definitely recommend this book.

The story is about Mason a man hell bent on revenge against the woman who wrongly accused him of rape, and ended up taking away all he had accomplished in life with one lie.
After spending 5 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, Mason wants to get the woman who turned his life into pure hell to pay for what she did to him, what better way to make her pay than humiliate her and degrade her the same treatment he received in prison. Kat doesn't understand why Mason would choose her to put her through this hell and at first she's a little lost and afraid but decides to not let him see the turmoil she's living in. Mason wants revenge, he craves it, it guides his life the first couple of months Kat is there but then something changes within him. Would he be able to continue his plan of would it backfired on him? Would Kat's fighting spirit be enough to show Mason the light?
This book had me hooked from start to finish and had me in tears more than once. It made me an emotional mess, from happy to sad, to mad, to elated. I love a book that captivates me and ties me emotionally to the characters. The storyline was very interesting and the author made sure to tie all the lose ends giving us a very solid story. The main characters were incredible well developed but the secondary ones were also a delight (insert Benny here.) Loved Benny! For a badass, the man had a heart of gold. This is definitely a story to recommend with high praises and an author to watch.

Review: I was given a complimentary copy of Let me go by Luv books galore for an honest review.
Mason had it all. Money, was a well-respected doctor and he had a lot of friends. He never had to worry about women. But it all changed when he was wrongly accused of raped. After being in prison for five years he is getting out and wants revenge.
Kat was abandoned as a baby and went to a lot of different foster homes. She never had a charmed life. Her life is now really falling apart. Kat has no money, or job and her lying and cheating boyfriend left her too. Kat allowed herself one night to cry about everything and then she was going to move past it. When she wakes up the next day she is no longer at home and she isn’t alone. Mason has taken her and claimed she ruined his life. Mason wants to break her down and make her feel what he has being locked up in jail. Kat keeps telling Mason she has no idea what he is talking about. Who is right? Who is wrong?
I really enjoyed this story. It was different from anything I’ve read before.
Kat and Mason make a good couple. Benny, Mason's best friend from jail is the most incredible and likable character you will ever meet. He is so funny. He is a good person and he is the one that pushes Kat and Mason together.
I recommend this book. It was good. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

This one sounds like something I might enjoy ;)
Synopsis: Rape.

She claimed she had no clue what he was talking about, but he didn't believe her. The facts don’t lie.

Was Kat lying? Could she convince Mason to let her go? Or was fate playing a role in why they were thrown into this together?

This book is packed full of suspense, drama, love, heartbreak, and so many more emotions. I started reading this one late one night, planning on just reading a couple of chapters before I went to sleep, the next thing I knew the sun was coming up and I was just about finished with this book. There was no way I could put it down once I started reading.

The main characters, Kat and Mason, have such a strong dynamic between them that you are just drawn to them from the start. Even when I didn’t agree with some of the things that Mason was doing, I could still understand his reasoning behind his actions. The secondary characters who are introduced in this story are amazing as well. They really add a lot to the story. I would love to see Benny get his own book eventually. He was a very interesting character who played a pivotal role without taking away from the main characters.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers for this book so there really isn’t much more that I can say other than make sure you buy this one. You do not want to miss out on this book. I became a fan of D.C. Renee when I read her books More Than Enough and Never Enough and trust me she does not disappoint with this one. I give this book 5 stars and I did NOT want to let IT go!!!!!

Kat and Mason! Wow! Just Wow! I'm soooooooo in love with them that I've read and re-read the book so many times, I've lost count. This book has it all - angst, drama, passion, love, and even revenge. I felt bad for both Kat and Mason because they were dealt shitty hands in life. The way they chose to confront them though, was completely different. Kat was determined but shy, except when push came to shove, she didn't back down without a fight. Mason was the perfect blend of broken and vulnerable. He was mean, but with a good guy underneath showing glimpses of himself at just the right moments. I loved the back and forth, the dynamic, the drama and the sexual tension. I even loved the side characters.
This is a must read. I read it all in one sitting and couldn't put it down. Then, the next day, I found myself reaching for it again and re-reading my favorite parts. Definitely a 5-star read!

Rachel's 4.5 Stars

This story was awesome! DC Renee has a wonderful way with words, and you really feel for Kat and especially Mason when he's not being a dick. You yell in your "thinking voice" at them, trying to help them see past all the hurt and lies and misconceptions...you feel connected to them, their characters so fully developed, you can't help but see them as "real". This novel is SO engaging, I really didn't want to put it down. There were times I had tears slipping down my face. My husband giving me "that" look, you know, the one that says "what the hell are you crying for? you're just reading!" Ugh...DC Renee, you have officially gone on my list of "must read any story by this author!"

This book had an unusual plot with rape, revenge and kidnapping at it's core. I'm not entirely sure that it'd be a true life scenario. If it were then I feel that they'd both be more strong willed as in Kat just seemed to roll over and accept her fate and he wasn't forceful enough which therefore made it unbelievable. However, I did enjoy the book and in places it made me laugh when Kat and Mason sparred with each other. At times it made me cry, especially what Mason went through. There were no graphic descriptions of this but it didn't need them as my imagination worked fine to visualise on it's own. I think a little artistic licence is allowed when writing these books, after all I like to read to escape so have no objections when things are not factual. I'd recommend the book and author.
