First Wave, book 1
Special Forces veteran Travis Combs just wanted to forget his weary years of leading combat missions while taking an extended rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. As he and his group complete a 22-day trip on the Colorado River, they find the world has unraveled from a deadly pandemic. Now, he has to show his small band how to live off the land and cross the rugged Arizona desert, while evading blood-drinking zombies, gangs of cartel bikers, and a rogue government agency.

The Longest Day, book 2
After training and leading his small band of survivors through the desert, Travis Combs just wants to get back home to his son in Denver. However, an emerging force in the mountains of Flagstaff poses a threat to his plans, and they will stop at nothing to obtain what he has.

No Place To Hide, book 3
As Travis and his band of fighters head for the secret lab in Durango, they face the convergence of powerful forces bent on securing the vaccine. With a traitor in their midst, and with the emerging threat of faster moving zombies, he must lead his weary group through the mountains and take the battle to his enemy.

A good read

My actual rating for this would be a 4.5 but I chose 5 because it's better than a 4. Perhaps it's because I just finished reading the two Emergence books in his new series prior to reading these 3, but even though the resulting "creatures" are different , both series are based on government released versions of the 1918 flu. One thing I really don't like is how in both series, the world is basically destroyed due to rouge or nefarious Americans who are high level government. While I do truly get that evil exists, even in Americans, I just don't like that "we're" the bad guys . My dad, and many family members, have served this country with honor and distinction for decades. I'm reading another series of his next and I hope to see a different basis otherwise I doubt I'll read a fourth despite that I truly enjoy his writing.

Just love the zombies!

It’s amazing how different zombies are in any given apocalypse. The ones in this set range from slow and dangerous to fast and deadly. The face of evil is also different. Even faster and more deadly. It’s a long journey for the team of good guys with losses and gains and family ties. I loved this series. It has every element needed in a fearsome and heartwarming apocalyptic tale!

Really good series. I think it could've used one more book to flesh out the story. The ending seemed a bit abrupt. I'm looking at my page count saying to myself, "40 pages left? That can't be right. There's gotta be 1 more."

This was a fast and furious series from JT Sawyer. I enjoyed the adventures of Travis Combs and his rag tag group of survivors. It’s was very believable due to the fact that we know that their is comfort in numbers. This is a must read!

I like a fast moving book

I am reading Austin’s complete works at night before bed but for quick distraction I like scary, zombie and other such books. This was one of the better ones.

Good Read

Enjoyed this series of books. You never know when a zombie will jump up and bite someone. This series had different groups fighting each other with zombies as the wild card.

Perfect compilation of virus wipe out

With the last 18 months of heartache this story gives hope. Nice balance of anti government, anti above the law corporate greed, and human spirit to survive. The story will draw you in and the end of this book is perfect.

I really enjoyed this book. On the outset, lots of good action and whatnot. What really made it great for me was the quotable statements including the passage from Homer at the end.

My first experience with AI reading. I wasn't able to follow this book because AI is no replacement for an actual reader. DNF

Great Series

Is there more?. I read the entire series within a few hours. I am not military so have to bow to others for authenticity. However
I can vouch for the solid integration of characters, fast paced, well developed plot, and very few editing errors. I plan on looking for more from this author.

This is one of the best new series about zombies and survival I have read in a while. Both of my children, my mother, and my sister have also now read this book upon my recommendation. I am hoping to be able to read the next book in this series when it comes out. It is a must read for anyone who likes zombies.

I received this book as a first-reads giveaway and here's my review.
I loved the way the author focuses on the practically of survival skills in this possible setting, even though I wasn't really expecting to enjoy this book because I was worried about it being predictable. Instead, I enjoyed this version of a "zombie" thriller. I ended up reading the complete set in 2 days!

I chose this rating because this is a very well written book. Hard to put down. Characters were very real and mostly very human and heroic.. Good story line. Didn't know where it was going next. Showed how evil the very evil were. Travis is a very innovative man. At the end he showed his soft and loving side. A loyal man.

Reminds me of Duke Nukem

Great series, although it could have easily been one book. It was entertaining and had a few twits. The characters were easy to root for. I'm going to look for more books by this author.

This is the first post-apocalyptic story I have read and it was a good introduction to the genre. Fairly plausible plot and good character development.
