“What are you saying? That you’re a thief who steals from other thieves?”
He wrinkled his nose and it was adorable. Stop! Thief!
“It sounds so distasteful when you say it like that. I prefer master appropriator of ill-gotten funds. You can call me master for short.”
“How can it be this good every single time?”
“Maybe it’s us.”
“Maybe it is.”
He pulled her close and held her tight.
“I love you. I will never stop loving you.”
“Trust me,” she whispered. “You are THE man. A six-foot-four-inch, gorgeous, strapping man with muscles everywhere and a big you-know-what.”
She was horrified. “How do you know my bra size?”
“I scrolled through your order history at Victoria’s Secret.”
“Well, that’s not at all creepy,” she deadpanned.
“Did you know there are items in your shopping cart? Sweaters. Lots of thick, long, skin-covering sweaters. Frankly, it confused me.”
”Maybe I already own plenty of lingerie. Considering I walk to work, sweaters are more practical. Plus, they’re awfully cute.”
“I added a few things to your cart and checked out for you. I paid for it with my credit card. Expedited the shipping too…”
“You ADDED a few thing?”
“One hint: not sweaters.”
“How wildly inappropriate.”
“Kid in a candy store. Couldn’t help myself.”
“How?”
“Excuse me?”
“You obviously hacked into my computer. How did you do it?”
“I came in your backdoor.”
“I’m certain you did not.”
“I assure you that I did.”
“Without even discussing it with me first? No preparation? No warning? Don’t you think that’s incredibly bad form?”
He grinned. “Are we still talking about your computer?”
…
“Get out of my computer immediately, I’m willing to move past the fact that you hacked me, but it ends now.”
“No more backdoor?”
“No more backdoor.”
He appeared crestfallen. “Ever?”
“Never,” she said firmly.
“Not even on my birthday or like a special occasion?”
“Are we still talking about my computer?” she asked.
“You probably are.”
“When you said you steal from the rich to give to the poor, I thought you were kidding. Is that how you get the money?”
“I don’t steal it. I appropriate it from people who shouldn’t have it in the first place. Then I give it to those who are more deserving.”
“You think I’m one of the bad guys, Katie, but you and I are more alike than you realize.”
“Are there any more?”
“There’s a seven.”
“And?”
She smiled as if she were picturing it in her mind.
“Oh, Katie.” His voice sounded like a purr. “It must be really good.”
“The number seven is when you kiss me when you’re inside me. It feels incredible.”
“Do you know what sounds really good for dinner?” he asked, nibbling her ear.
“A number seven with a side of let’s order in?”
“You’re so quick,” he said, easing her off his lap and pulling her toward the bedroom. “I really like that about you.”
“Who are you?”
“Just a man with a mission.”
“Independently wealthy, or does the money grow on a tree in your backyard?”
“I steal from the rich to give to the poor.”
"Get out of my computer immediately. I’m willing to move past the fact that you hacked me, but it ends now.”
“No more backdoor?”
“No more backdoor.”
He appeared crestfallen. “Ever?”
“Never,” Kate said firmly.
“Not even on my birthday or like a special occasion?”
“Are we still talking about my computer?” she asked.
“You probably are.”
“Always chose love. Always choose the adventure. You’ll never regret it.”
“Someday you'll sit beside me and know you can trust me no matter how fast we’re going.”
A refreshing 4 STARS
Ian was an enigma, a puzzle with a thousand pieces. She'd never met a man who fascinated her the way he did.
"So you want a nice guy, but you don't want him to be boring."
"Yes. Nice and not boring and not into threesomes and no cocaine. I mean, is that too much to ask?"
"No, although I feel compelled to point out that the threesome thing is pretty universal."
"Oh for God's sake."
"That doesn't mean we're all going to try to convince you to participate in one. It's just that very few guys would be like, 'Go away, extra girl,' should one happen to climb into our bed when you're already in it. That's all I'm saying."
"Do you know what I think? I think you've fallen into the habit of relying on your money and the way you look to excuse your appallingly intrusive behavior."
"You're absolutely right. There aren't many problems my money can't solve, but let's talk more about the way I look. What exactly do you like the most?"
"Sometimes I just want to crawl inside your head and poke around," Kate said. "I imagine it would be fascinating."
"How...unsettling. Although to be fair, I too think about being inside you and poking around."
"Always choose love. Always choose the adventure. You'll never regret it."

“I’ll win you over eventually. I’m very charming that way.”

Ian grinned. “Are we still talking about your computer? Because I find you utterly delightful right now.”

“You made it so damn easy for me to love you”
“What are you saying? That you’re a thief who steals from other thieves?”I thought the story-line really interesting and unique. And the characters were likeable and engaging with some steamy sexy moments and a bit of suspense and mystery!!
He wrinkled his nose, and it was adorable.
Stop! Thief!

“So you want a nice guy, but you don’t want him to be boring.”Saying all of the above, I have to admit that I enjoy reading this story…still thinking if I am going to read Ian & Kate’s next adventure!!!!

“Well, how do you usually meet women?” “They have a way of suddenly appearing. Like the birds in that song.” She had to think about that for a minute. “You mean ‘Close to You’ by the Carpenters?”
