Alice : Straight out of college and falling for her billionaire boss. Oliver : Wealthy, accomplished. And more than a little lonely sometimes. Alice is still a jeans and sneakers kind of girl when she takes up her internship at Oliver Porter’s company. She falls for him before she even knows who he is. Determined to catch his attention, she resolves to transform herself into a woman he will simply have to take.
Oliver keeps his heart locked away, safe from falling. He’s learned the hard way that trust should never come easy. Until Alice comes along and shows him how irresistible the right woman can be. Even then, he needs a very particular sort of arrangement. An arrangement that he can be sure of. An arrangement where Alice will be entirely his.
Office Surrender is a collection of standalone short stories featuring Dominant men - and women who learn to submit.
Ruby Harper writes about women losing their inhibitions and finding that reality can be even hotter than fantasy. Her stories are short, erotic and always feature dominant men who know how to take control.
Ruby spends most of her life in a quiet part of northern England and loves music, village life and exhausting walks with Charlie the golden lab. She's been reading since as far back as she can remember and writing for almost as long.
Alice is gorgeous, cute and innocent. She is also beginning to learn that she is submissive. Oliver is Alpha and dominant. Alice starts as an intern for Oliver in his business. Soon Alice is also his business. I hope Ruby is going to have a follow up to this book. Great character development. Especially Alice as she learns so much about herself. Great plot. Beautiful. Descriptive prose. Five pulsing shooting stars for Alice
This short book was free. It's more than a boss-and-subordinate love story, and less, too. The boss is one of those handsome control freaks who considers women chattel. The subordinate--the heroine, of course--is a spineless idiot who gives English majors everywhere a bad name. Passive voice throughout the book confers vastly more "tell" than "show." It's the first in a serial, so be prepared for the cliffhanger. Only the utter absence of grammatical errors gives this story that third star. I prefer my heroes less calculating and cold toward their ladies and my heroines to have some self-respect and principles, so I won't be reading any more in this serial or, probably, by this author.
This is the third book in the Office Surrender Series. All of the books are office romances featuring dominant men and women who learn to submit. Alice, fresh out of college has started her intern job at Oliver Porter's company. Even though she didn't have a clue that he was the owner of the company. She thought he was hot the first time she saw him. She's determined to mold herself into a woman that he can't resist. He has other plans for what he wants from Alice, but he always keeps his heart guarded. Hot and sassy with some surprises.. A well written short book with interesting characters.
Alice started an internship at a new company, and the owner, Oliver, had a new proposition for her.
I really wanted to like this book. The synopsis sounded interesting and I had high hopes for it. The steam was OK, but very robotic since the story is told in third person. You get no chemistry or connection between Alice and Oliver and it's all described so mechanically. The first half of the book is a bunch of build up that wasn't really worth it in the end. I wish the author would have developed the story a little bit more instead of speeding through everything.
This had potential but nothing flowed. It was hard sometimes to follow the main characters point of view because there were no transitions. The feelings didn’t sound believable but more forced. It didn’t seem as though he liked her for her and ultimately she wanted the lifestyle.
Didn't enjoy this one as much. I felt Alice's life description was too long, all the stuff about being new at an office and feeling not quite prepared was a little on the long side. And then when we get to the action, it's so little compared to the other two that it was slightly disapointing.
It was a small novella that had one thought all of the way thru. It was a nice short read during the hustle & bustle of Christmas. But, this should only be read in private! I voluntarily read and reviewed honestly an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Alice gets an apprenticeship for her dream job. She finds herself attracted to her boss so she starts to change her outward appearance to what she thinks he would like to get his attention. Gain his attention she did but will she like what he had in mind?
Alice started working as a intern. She hopes she will get a permanent job at the company owned by the delicious Oliver. Unknown to her, he has plans for her, but will she accept them?
This is a short story, but I felt myself bored way too often. There was a lot of build up until they finally had the meeting with the proposition. That wasn't bad, but it just didn't hold my interest. She seemed to naive in comparison to her actions in his office. She never even questions his intent and there is no real discussion about how this is going to proceed. The POV's changed with no rhyme, reason or identification. It just wasn't for me.
Alice started working as a intern. With one month left she hopes she will get a permanent job at the company owned by the delicious Oliver. Unknown to her, he has plans for her, but will she accept them?
