I was born and raised in Michigan (just look for the giant mitten on the map—it’ll likely throw a snowball at you). I spent most of my time in Michigan, but while in the army got to call KS, SC, MO, and CA home for awhile as well.

As a kid my family moved around a lot. Try spending both your freshman and senior years at new schools (yeah, loads of fun). I could’ve changed my name to “new girl”.

I love writing for teens because those are the years I remember falling in love with most of my favorite books. Some of the authors I couldn’t put down were L.J. Smith, Christopher Pike, R.L. Stine, Richie Tankersley Cusick, Joan Lowery Nixon, Lois Duncan, amongst several others.

My husband and I have a large family. There are six kids total! So we have LOTS of fun on vacations (although hours on the road, cooped up in the Expedition is kind of stressful—although we pass the time with MAD LIBS and hoping no one gets carsick).

Some fun facts about me:

My first real crush was on Luke Skywalker (LOL—hey, I was like 8 years old and it came out before I was born).

I’m obsessed with several TV shows/Movies: The Vampire Diaries, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Sean of the Dead, The Sing Off, Ghost Hunters, Destination Truth, True Blood, Being Human, Fact or Fake, and all the cake designing ones! Oh and all the spoof movies!

I still own all the books I bought as a kid/teen.

I have a hankering for chocolate (like all the time, seriously. If my arm was made of it I’d chew it off).

Celebrity crushes: Johnny Depp (woohoo), Taylor Lautner (okay, I know he’s kind of young for me), Ian Somerhalder (ooh, he’s just right. We’re the same age). Wow, this was like a Goldie Locks and the Three Bears moment. Johnny Depp too old, Taylor Lautner too young, Ian Somerhalder—JUST RIGHT.

In my spare time I like to write (obviously), read, sing, hang out with my kids, play with my animals, camp, play soccer, check my email (hehehe), watch football (go LIONS). I also love hanging out with my sister and hubby!

Look forward to chatting with everyone! And if you’re lucky, I’ll break out the opera voice and chase you around singing!

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Entangled Publishing, LLC and NetGalley.)

“I bet you can’t make Daisy fall for you by the end of the summer.”

This was a YA contemporary romance featuring a cocky pop star.

I felt quite sorry for Daisy at the start of this book. The way Trevin had let her down and stood her up was awful, and the fact that he wasn’t even sorry about it was even worse! I did think that her little revenge plot was maybe a little immature though.

“You, Trevin Jacobs, are going down.”

The storyline in this involved Trevin making a bet with his band mates that he could get Daisy to fall for him. I mean really? Is this the most unoriginal storyline ever? I feel like I’ve read at least a dozen books where a similar bet is made, and it never turn out well! And again, Daisy’s likewise ‘revenge’ plot was likewise not a good idea.

“She didn’t understand how he could pull this nice guy crap now, when nine months ago he’d left her hanging.”

There was some romance between Trevin and Daisy, but I felt a little unsure about the whole thing seeing as they both seemed to have ulterior motives.

“She wrapped her arms around his neck as he pulled her closer. A spark flashed behind her eyes like fireworks exploding on a barge.”

The ending to this was fairly happy, and I was pleased that Trevin and Daisy got a happy ending.

6 out of 10.

“If you spend your time hoping someone will suffer the consequences for what they did to your heart, then you're allowing them to hurt you a second time in your mind.”

---- Shannon L. Alder

Rebekah L. Purdy, an American author, pens her third book in the Backstage Pass series which follows a boy band and their love conquests. Daisy and the Front Man, the third book, centers around a teenage girl who was stood up and left humiliated by the front man of the famous boy band, but now it is summer and the teenager is heel bound to get a revenge on this hot-to-handle front man, who is equally chalking up a plan to make her fall for him fast and hard.

Synopsis:

Hell hath no fury like a fangirl scorned…

When Daisy Morris finds out she’s spending the summer with her dad, bodyguard for Seconds to Juliet—the hottest boy band around—she knows it couldn't be more perfect. But not because she’s a fan. Oh, no. Because ever since front man Trevin Jacobs completely humiliated her by standing her up for homecoming, Daisy is out for a little revenge. Yup, Trevin Jacobs is goin' down...

When one of his band-mates bets Trevin he can't make Daisy—the gorgeous but surprisingly ice-cold daughter of their bodyguard—fall in love with him, it’s a bet he can’t resist. Sure, Daisy won’t give him the time of day for reasons he can't understand, and her dad’s hell-bent against his little girl spending time with a superstar. But the terms are set, and Trevin is determined to make Daisy fall…hard.

But every front man should know never to trust a girl with a pretty face…

Since this is the third part in the Backstage Pass series, it doesn't necessarily require to read the first two books in this series to understand the plot hence, it can be read as a pure standalone, and if you're a die-hard YA fan and love to read about cheesy young love stories, then this book perfectly fits the bill for you. Unfortunately, I'm pass that age to enjoy these young cheesy no fuss love affairs, still, I enjoyed reading this quick and easy story.

Trevin Jacobs, the front man of the popular and hottest boy-band, Seconds 2 Juliet and each book features the love story of the each member's conquest to finding their own Juliet. This time, the leading man, Trevin is pitching for their fearless body-guard's hottest and prettiest daughter, Daisy. Little did he knew that he was the one who stood her up in her homecoming dance in front of her whole school and media, but the worst part of the humiliation was that she was left disgraced right in the begining of the high school year. But now it is summer and her father wants her to tag along with him to the Second 2 Juliet's tour, Daisy makes up her mind to take a sweet revenge on Trevin, whereas Trevin is trying to make Daisy fall for him.

The writing style is good but I believe the author had lot of opportunity to develop her plot with a strong foundation instead of making it circle like a bad karma. The narrative style is kept very realistic and that is the one thing which captured by attention, since the author have successfully arrested the voices of young teenagers whose love is in peril, especially of Daisy's, who doesn't feel the need to tell Trevin, why she hates him so much.

The pace is really fast and like I already told you, the book had lot of moments to grow out of the same thing which could have made the book even more interesting. There was very little character development only in case of Daisy who gradually learns to trust Trevin with all his flaws and shortcomings. The rest of the characters are all very fun to read about, which are I guess pretty realistic enough to make us believe that these kind of hot and perfect characters actually exist in real world.

The chemistry between Daisy and Trevin is sweet and cute which then embarks a road to become lusty and passionate, but the journey depicted in the book by the author is very striking with lots of compassion and emotions. Although this book doesn't necessarily revolve around Daisy and Trevin's love affair, but it also addresses quite a lot of teenage issues like divorced parents, spending time with one parent, humiliation, bullying etc, which the author have vividly and sensitively portrayed.

Verdict: YA realistic and contemporary fiction lovers will love to read this story.

I want to thank Entangled Teen for supplying me with a copy of this book to read and give an honest review. Receiving this book for free has in no way altered my review or opinion.

I have been hooked on this series from the beginning. I love the theme of rock star and ordinary girl meet and romance blossoms. It's what many young girls' dreams are made of. So to watch it play out across the page is not only fun, but fulfills a girlhood fantasy of mine!

Daisy has a strained relationship with her dad, who happens to be a bodyguard for the one and only Seconds To Juliet. And, while Daisy has worshipped this band from a far for so long, her heart was also crushed by one of their members. So when Daisy's mother ships her off to hang with her dad for the summer, she has to face those demons. The reader starts out with a lot of sympathy for Daisy and a true understanding of her wanting to take revenge on those who have hurt her. She comes across the page as independent and fierce, and I love that. She's also nowhere near perfect, which I find totally endearing because so many of the girl characters written these day scream perfection (a trait I find it hard to connect with much of the time).

Trevin is the oldest member of Seconds to Juliet. He's the one they all look up to. The one who keeps them in line. It's a lot of pressure. And what his manager says goes, as long as he wants to keep his music career (because it's what he wants more than anything else in the world). While the title of the book would have you thinking he was forefront in the group, really he strikes me as more of the glue that holds the band together, and the one that everyone falls back on. You can feel his angst when it comes to making sure the guys in the band live up to the expectations of their fans. I love that Trevin is sweet and endearing.

When Trevin and Dasiy are thrown together, things change for Trevin. He feels a pull between her and the band, one that is not easy to balance. Little does he know he inadvertently hurt her before he even knew her. Its fun to watch the romance between these two blossom, but at the same time they are both so weary of the other's motives. You route for them throughout, even with the teen angst they throw from the pages of the book. The romance is sweet and unassuming.

I like Purdy's writing. All the books are told in third person, which often has me fighting to connect with the characters. And, in all honestly, I really do think these books would work better if you really had the first person point of view. I don't see a need for the third person as there is nothing we can't learn about the characters through doing dual POV in this way. But the third person works well enough with these books to keep me interested and wanting to continue reading. I can see how it also might make them more consistent, since author's voices can vary so much more in first person (and every book in this series is written by a different author).

Overall I truly enjoyed this story. Thought not my favorite of the series, I found it easy to get through and I really was routing for the happily ever after in the end. I like that these books don't disappoint in this respect. Anyone who grew up worshiping a band or band member will understand Daisy and her fascination with Trevin and Seconds to Juliet. Lovers of Jennifer E. Smith and Stephanie Perkins will find themselves enthralled with the Backstage Pass series!

Another great part of the Backstage Pass series!!!

Daisy's story starts out with what has to be one of the most humiliating things that could happen to a girl in high school. She had won a contest to have Trevin Jacobs take her to her Homecoming dance. But when he doesn't show up, in front of the whole town and all the local news stations, she vows to never want to be his fan again. Then, well, her mom is going out of the country with her new boyfriend, and so Daisy ends up going to spend the time with her dad, who hasn't been around for most of her life since he came back from the war. Her dad just happens to be a bodyguard for S2J When Trevin doesn't even recognize Daisy, she's even more upset. But knows that she is going to do her best to get revenge. Ryder, the bad boy from before, still pretty much the same, bets Trevin he can't get this girl to fall in love with him, especially when everyone sees how much she seems to hate him. Not knowing about the bet, Daisy decides making him fall in love with her and then ditching him might be another good way to get revenge. When it all comes down to the end, both of their lies will clash, and it will all blow up in their faces. One of the band members does figure out who Daisy is, but she begs him to keep it quiet, because she wants Trevin to remember on his own.

The problems trying to get together around Daisy's dad made for some funny parts, and overall, I really liked the story and the characters here. I had one or two issues with this. Some things that I feel like could have been done a little different, but overall, it was still very good! I also like that Trevin was from a town in Kansas!

This Entangled Teen Crush book contains adult language, sexual situations, and seriously hot boys. It may cause swoony daydreams involving a certain super-cute front man.

Rating: 3/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: is it just me, or is Daisy a huge brat?; the romance didn't feel genuine; I wasn't rooting for these two AT ALL; unfortunately, these butterflies were super frustrated; good father/daughter bonding moments; great focus on sibling relationships and Trevin's family

If I said I enjoyed this installment as much as the last two, I'd be lying through my teeth. This book? Disappointed me. Big time.

The thing was, when you gave people chances they learned how to break you. They could take everything in a single moment.

I think the biggest reason for this was Daisy. Now, don't go tearing my head off here—I did find the idea of a revenge plot entertaining at the start of this read. It promised something different for this series: a new sort of humor, a different spin on the fangirl backstory. A good laugh, if nothing else. BUT. Halfway through the read, Daisy was still whining and moaning and in general being a brat. And while I can get behind a good revenge plot ANY day (I mean, obviously, the well-written and amusing ones)...I cannot even with the bratty girls. This read would have been a lot more fun, if Daisy's sole purpose throughout wasn't JUST to get back at the boy who “hurt” her.

I also felt as if this particular couple came off less believable than the others we've been given so far. Obviously, part of this has to do with the revenge plot/bet portion of the story...but even during those moments where guards were let down and real emotions came into play, it didn't read as sincere for me. I didn't get the same type of butterflies from their interactions that I did during the last two books. They just didn't ever really seem to connect. Or maybe I was so annoyed with Daisy, I couldn't connect.

This was, however, still an entertaining read. I found myself giggling on several occassions, usually around Daisy's EARLY pranks on Trevin (you know...the innocent ones. The ones that didn't really hurt anyone) Also, the relationships and bonds between the boys were strong and clearly defined. We saw MUCH more of Nathan and Will in this book, which I loved—it gives me something to look forward to going in to the last few installments. And I loved the focus the author gave to Trevin and his relationships with his family—those moments really helped to make this book, in my opinion.

“Uh-huh.” Rosa smiled. “I’d say someone is smitten.” “That’s an understatement.” She laughed. “I can’t eat, sleep, or concentrate without his face popping into my head. Kind of like popcorn kernels left over the fire too long.”

Overall, this was a cute, amusing book...but I feel Daisy could have been written better. Also, the romance felt a bit too fake for my tastes. I still recommend to lovers of cutesy contemporaries, revenge plots, and movies like She's All That. If you're into those things, this is right up your alley!

I feel like the best thing to compare this book to is cotton candy. I felt like I was walking through clouds of pink sugary fluff while reading this book. There were so many cute scenes in this book, and I ate it up! I found the romance to be really sweet, even though it felt a tad fast passed. I definitely said "awww" out loud during this book. If you love cute YA romances, then you definitely will get your fill of that with this book.

This book was also extremely funny! I genuinely laughed at some of the situations or dialogue through out this book. Some of the funniest moments were when Daisy was doing things to get back at Trevin. I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. I thought her revenge plot was funny and cute. However, sometimes I felt like she was acting a little bit immature. She was so hot and cold with Trevin. I wish she would have stuck with the revenge plot a little bit more in the beginning, and then developed more feelings for him. I was annoyed with her going back and forth between liking him and hating him. I just wish she had figured out her feelings sooner so there would have been even more cute scenes between her and Trevin.

I thought Trevin was a really sweet character. He was definitely adorable and swoon worthy. I would compare him to a cupcake because he was just that sweet! My only complaint with Trevin was that he was really oblivious and kind of dumb. I have no clue why he even made the bet in the first place or why he didn't drop the bet. It was obvious that the bet was not going to end well, but he kept it up anyway.

I thought the plot of this book was fun, even though it was a little bit predictable. The predictability of the plot didn't really bother me, because I was really enjoying myself while reading this book. I really liked seeing all of the members of the band, and I can't wait to see the other boys get their own books. I found myself falling in love with each boy in the band. I also really enjoyed the family aspect to the book. It was nice to see the family dynamics with Daisy's family and Trevin's family.

There was something super addictive about this book, and I don't know what it was. I could not put this book down! I wanted to see how everything would play out.

Overall, I really did enjoy this book. I felt like it was a fun and cute read. It was a great summer read. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet YA romance. I really do not think this book will disappoint.

I am really loving the Backstage Pass Series, they do not disappoint. Daisy and the Front Man is the third book in the series where we meet Daisy Morris and Trevin Jacobs, who are reunited by a leap of faith once again.

When Daisy Morris finds out that she is going to be spending summer with her dad, she is not too thrilled with the idea especially when her dad was supposed to be working for the Seconds to Juliet band that summer as their bodyguard. But what was supposed to turn into a terrible summer for her, became the perfect setting for her revenge. For what everyone did not know was that Trevin completely humiliated her by standing her up for homecoming and now it was payback time. What she was not expecting was to find herself completely falling for the guy that failed her before.

Trevin Jacobs is used to having the attention of a every teenage girl in the world, but when the outspoken Daisy Morris arrives to meet them on tour, he doesn't know what to think of her. He immediately senses the hate radiated from her and he is willing to do anything to change that. When one of his bandmates bets him to make Daisy fall in love with him, he just couldn't say no. He soon finds himself doing a lot of things to get Daisy to like him, never expecting to finding himself in a middle of an understanding between what he did in the past and the girl he unexpectedly has falling in love with.

From the characters to the setting, Rebekah L. Purdy did a great job describing the events that tranpired throughout the book. I liked the overall concept that it fit really well with the characters' personalities. Daisy is outspoken and smart, whereas Trevin can seem to be the tough one, but he is a softy in the inside and that makes the story that much more enjoyable to read. After winning the prize of taking any of the band member to homecoming, Daisy picks Trevin, but on the day she gets a signed picture of him apologizing that he cannot make it to the dance. The press was there to cover the story, but they left with a completely new story after filming Daisy be humiliated in front of all of them. Now after all this time, she has promised to do the impossible to humiliate Trevin just like she did to her. We can all guess her reaction when she finally got to see Trevin only have him not recognize her at all. That made things a lot worse for her, and that's when the story takes off. As the two of them start to get closer, the more she wishes she could stop before it is too late, but a twist in the story makes it impossible for her to stop and for Trevin to actually tell her how he really feels. The ending was my favorite part as it brought everything together very well. Overall, I highly recommend this book, and the entire series. If you love boy bands with handsome band member then this is the book for you. :)

Daisy is a fangirl scorned. She won a contest for the band Seconds To Juliet and her prize was a date to homecoming with S2J's front man Trevin Jacobs--thing is, the dude stands her up--in front of half her town. Yep. She's a pariah.

So, she's more than toying with the idea of humiliating Trevin when she joins her father on the S2J tour. He's the chief bodyguard for the band, and Daisy now has has unlimited access.

Trevin is a bit of a jackass. He's a narc on his bandmates and charged with keeping everyone in line, even though he's only 18. Still, meeting Daisy has him re-considering the S2J "no girlfriends" policy, and fellow songwriter, Ryder, challenges Trevin to the ultimate bet: if Trevin can get Daisy to fall for him, then he can get special songwriting privileges for the band. It's Trevin's dream-come-true---get a pretty girl to love him and he's set!

Thing is, Daisy is not at all inclined to swoon for Trevin. She's too bitter. Trevin can't understand why his normal schtick isn't working and actually tries to get to KNOW Daisy--he's smitten, and feeling rather crappy regarding the bet.

For her part, Daisy sees how kind and considerate Trevin is, and thinks maybe her revenge plan is not the way to go. Plus, reconnecting with her dad after several years' absence gives her a better perspective on life. She thought all men would leave her abandoned: Trevin, her dad, her dead Gramps. Trevin seems earnest in his pursuit of her friendship (and More!) until Daisy learns about The Bet.

So, this is a clean read with just a few make-out sessions. Daisy and Trevin are both young and foolish, making bad choices they regret and seek forgiveness for. It's a solid YA romance with relatable, imperfect MC's who make amends and build a real relationship. There is plenty of caustic banter and some definitely swoony moments. I enjoyed.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review from Entangled via Netgalley.

This is the third book in the Backstage Pass series, and it is equally as adorable as the others! Like I've said before, they follow a boy band, Seconds 2 Juliet, and the ladies who get tangled up with them. They are YA, and they wont be for everyone. I wasn't even sure I would like them at first. But they have all been easy, one sitting reads for me, that just put a smile on my face! I have to love them for that. :)

I liked Daisy and Trevin! Trevin was sweet, and is definitely like the big brother to all of his band mates. He got himself caught up in some shenanigans with Ryder (My bad boy♥) that almost got him in a lot of trouble with Daisy. Daisy has some serious trust issues. And she is out for revenge. I cant really blame her for wanting it, but I wish she had done things differently.

What is strange about this book is that I didn't feel like I got to know either of them very well. I didn't get that good connection to these two that I have gotten from the others so far. I like them, but didn't love them. I was just missing something. So for that, Im going with 3 stars. Still enjoyable, just missing something. But still made me smile from cuteness.

I also still think it is really unique that each book and band member is written by a different author, and they all came together over their love of boy bands. How cute!

I still think this series would be great for boy bands lover, especially of the 1D variety. I dont care for them, but these books would be well suited to lovers of them!

Daisy and Trevin already have a negative history before they meet. Her dad is one his bodyguards and she stays with him for the summer. This time she can meet with him in person!

Daisy had won a date with him to her Homecoming dance about a year ago. He stood her up to go to an award show. Now, he asks her to give him a chance. No knowing or remembering who she is.

Trevin is one of five members of the band, Seconds to Juliet. He is very popular and has a crazy schedule both on and off touring. He makes a bet with one of his buddies that he can get her to fall for him by the end of summer. But he may be the one in danger of falling....

Daisy is so frustrated. She wants to trust him and she knows she likes Trevin. He already hurt her and abused her trust. Can she give him another chance? Can she live with herself if she doesn't?

The characters are so honest and careful in this story. The original characters from the other books in this series, Backstage Pass are here too! I was impressed with the development and the book is seriously hard to put down!

I really liked ‘Daisy and the Front Man’ and give it 4 stars. It’s a YA contemporary romance. It was a cute and fun story. It is well-written and fast-paced. You can easily read it in one go. The book has some really interesting moments and even though the plot is predictable, you still want to know how everything plays out.

I loved all the characters in this book, Miles being my favourite. He is really funny. I totally loved him. The moments between Daisy and Trevin are sweet and quite realistic. They both had other motives for dating each other, but despite that they fell in love. Ryder, Will and Nate are also awesome. The book has a happy end, which makes the book even better. And I love that.

I am also looking forward to read the other two books in the ‘The Backstage Pass’ series.

So if you like light, cheesy love stories, this book is perfect for you.

I will start by saying that this book was way better than Mia and the Bad Boy, and probably even better than Aimee and the Heartthrob, but I couldn’t give it 3 stars (like I gave Aimee), because it still couldn’t quite grab my attention, and I ended up skimming a huge portion of the chapters.

Let me tell you what I felt was better than the previous books, ok?

The writing was slightly better, though it was still in the same “formula” as the other ones, and so, not my favorite thing.

The relationship between the guys was finally good! I felt like they were truly friends and family, and all the boys had much more impact on this book than on the previous 2.

Trevin was definitly a better male MC. He was a good guy and it showed.

The romance was super super cute.

Now, I did give it 2.5 stars, so a lot of things still didn’t quite work for me…

The characters. While Trevin was a better character than the previous 2 guys, there was still shitty things there, like the fact that he even accepted the kind of bet he did with Ryder. It was just so wrong on so many levels, especially given that Daisy was the daughter of someone they liked, admired and respected.

Daisy… I don’t even know what to say about her. She was so childish sometimes, and the sort of stuff she pulled was deplorable. Look, I understand trust issues, I do, but her grandfather died… he didn’t “leave” her on his own free will…

I hated her whole “revenge” plot, because it honestly made no sense to me. She understood she was dealing with someone super busy and famous, and she still felt like he HAD to remember her. I don’t know… no logic.

While the romance was cute, it also developed super fast, as usual. Well… at least they both acted like the teens they were supposed to be.

While I did like that Trevin’s family life was talked about a bit, I felt like there should have been a little more about it. His Korean roots were strong, and I felt like it could have been a little bit more explored than just with food, you know?

The whole plot was a huge NO NO for me, unfortunately.

Overall, I did enjoy this one a bit, but not enough to make me want to read the final 2 books of this series. I’m sorry to say that I’m giving up on the Backstage Pass series, because it’s just not working for me. The characters should have been made a little bit older, and the plots less childish. It’s a huge contradiction to have the characters as they are described and hyper sexualized, and then have such plots. It’s just not for me.

SO, GUYS, HAVE YOU READ THIS SERIES? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON IT?

Just as cute as the first two books of the series.
The Good
This series is just so damn adorable. I always have a goofy smile on my face while reading these books. Daisy and the Front Man was no different. It was fun, flirty, and silly.

Daisy was such a spitfire. What happened to her in the beginning was so sad, but I like how she was all about revenge, not pitying herself. I am a sucker for a revenge story. Though she could be immature at times about the whole thing, I liked her snarkiness and how she gave Trevin a hard time when everyone else would kiss the ground he walks on.

It took some time for me to warm up to Trevin. He was too much of a good-ol-boy to really get me excited about him. He made some bad decisions but he always owned up to them, and I respected that. Daisy and Trevin together were perfection though.

This one had a simple but fun plot with enjoyable characters. A fast and easy read.
The Bad
These books were meant for a young audience, that's for sure. Daisy and the Front Man was a bit immature for me in some areas. The characters acted like children, not teen/adults. I still loved them, but I rolled my eyes sooooooo many times.

The ending was a little different from the first two, but still very similar. So predictable. I am happy how things ended, but it would be cool to be more surprised or at least feel like the ending was unique and not a replica of the first two books.
The Snuggly
The romance was sweet, though the games these two played kept us from seeing them really have fun together. Very young adult sexually.
Final Thoughts
When you are looking for a fun, simple read, this is the series for you. I love books that make me smile. Those are rare. Even if this one wasn't 5 stars, it was still very good. Recommended.

Excerpt
She screamed, stomping on them like they were an infestation of spiders. She glanced down at the signed picture once more and then tore it in half. He hadn’t even had the balls to call her. He’d known since yesterday he couldn’t make it, and he let her get all dressed up instead of sending her a letter, which was probably typed by his publicist or agent or someone. She’d bought a dress with money she didn’t really have—money her mom had helped her save to make tonight special. And he’d ruined everything. Her chest hurt so badly. Maybe there was something wrong with her that made all the guys want to stay away? Like she was un-dateable.

She stripped out of her dress and let it fall to the floor at her feet.  Wrapping her arms around her chest, she rocked back and forth, as if that would make it better. But nothing would. There was no point in going to Homecoming now. She didn’t have a date, not to mention she didn’t want to deal with Emma’s nasty comments all night.

Never again would she fall for any boy. Trevin Jacobs or otherwise.

“You, Trevin Jacobs, are going down.” At that moment, she had no idea how she’d accomplish this, but she’d dig deep and use the same determination that had won her the contest to begin with.

And when she did, Trevin Jacobs would wish he’d never screwed her over.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing for providing me with an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Daisy and the Front Man kicks off the third novel in the sensationally addictive Backstage Pass series, this time written by Rebekah L. Purdy and following front man Trevin Jacobs as the meets he girl who is set to bring him down…..one way or the other!

With three novels already down, Backstage Pass has quickly become one of my favourite YA contemporary series and I’m so incredibly addicted! Each novel has been fun, funny and endlessly romantic; dealing with teen issues, family, friends and the pressure money and fame can bring to the lives of a young adult. All neatly tied up together with sass, humour and perfect romantic tension and chemistry I might add. And Daisy and the Front Man is no exception!

This time told through the eyes of Seconds to Juliet’s oldest member, front man Trevin, and Daisy Morris a teenage girl who Trevin once stood up, Daisy and the Front Man sees Daisy set out to get a little revenge against the guy who broke her heart when she finds herself spending the summer with her dad, a body guard for the famous boy band. Trevin on the other hand is in for the surprise of a lifetime when he accepts a bet to prove he can get the daughter of Seconds to Juliet’s bodyguard to fall in love with him before summer is through. The last thing he expected was to find himself falling for the surprising redhead and when Daisy begins to see that Trevin may not be so bad after all, both teens must decide whether love is worth taking a chance…..

Eeeep. More Seconds to Juliet! I’m totally stuck on this boyband. Miles, Ryder and now Trevin have won my heart and I can only hope Will will soon be next with Nathan following close behind! Rebekah L. Purdy creates a sold YA romance story with Daisy and the Front Man, writing both Trevin and Daisy’s voices perfectly. Both characters were a joy to follow and I loved being inside their heads.

Daisy and Trevin were both really likeable characters. Easy to follow, join and watch evolve, Daisy and Trevin had real personality and endearing qualities. Both made mistakes, especially where the other were concerned, but I really appreciated how Rebekah L. Purdy forced them to face their fears and grown. Trevin’s Korean heritage was a nice touch, but I would have loved to have seen even more of his family and culture. Daisy on the other hand had difficulties with her absentee father and I thought it sweet that Purdy explored this in Daisy and the Front Man too.

Another great romance featured in this novel and I really enjoyed watching it develop. Daisy and Trevin are quite adorable together and of course it was wonderful watching another Seconds to Juliet member fall. Rebekah L. Purdy won me over with the sweet romance, banter and chemistry between Daisy and Trevin.

With Daisy and the Front Man coming to a close, I’m already hankering for the next instalment. Who it will be written by and which remaining Seconds to Juliet member it will be about remains to be seen, but I think the person who will be front and centre next time is Will and I highly look forward to it.

Fun, addictive and wonderfully told, Daisy and the Front Man was yet another Backstage Pass novel that certainly did not disappoint!

I've enjoyed all of the Backstage Pass stories so far, but I have to say that Daisy and the Front Man was my favorite so far. I felt like it just had more conflict, both internal and external, that complicated the story and made the stakes much higher than in previous books. The author just took the story to another level from the prior books.

I loved Daisy as a character. I felt extremely bad for her having been stood up by the front man, Trevin at her homecoming dance. Peer pressure and high school is bad enough, but when you publicize the fact that the front man of a famous boy band everyone loves is coming to take you to homecoming, only to have him not show up, you can only imagine the kind of backlash that Daisy had to deal with. Add to that the fact that she's had a largely absentee father and a beloved grandpa that died on her, and you have some serious trust issues. I thought the author did a wonderful job portraying this without making her seem overly bitter or whiny.

Then there was Trevin. He's the leader of the group, the responsible one, and the one who is surprisingly down to earth. I loved how sweet he was, how responsible, and how fun he was with Daisy. I was pulling for him from the very beginning, as I knew there had to be some extenuating circumstances somewhere in there.

I don't want to give anything away, but there was a point toward the end of the story that, trust issues aside, I really felt that Daisy leaped before thinking. She didn't really do anything to try to find answers before jumping to conclusions. Granted, someone with trust issues might possibly react in this way, and if she hadn't, perhaps there wouldn't have been conflict. So in the end, it was fine with me.

I loved how quickly the book read, how deep the characters were, and how sweetly building their romance was. This was such a cute and fun installment to the Backstage Pass series. I loved it.

Imagine if you won a competiton for your favourite singer to take you to your homecoming, how excited would you be ? Especially if there are reporters waiting to film it ? Now sit back and imagine what would happen if that singer cancelled on you and didn't even give you enough pre-warning ? How embarrasing would that be ? For Daisy, that is what happened to her after she won a recycling competition and the prize was for Trevin from the band Seconds to Juliet taking her to homecoming. After his stand-up , her life was made hell at school and she suffered endless bullying and taunts. She hated Trevin with a vengeance and boy bands. He was also the first person to break her heart. Now Summer is here and her mother is getting married and travelling , this mean that Daisy has to spend all summer with her Dad "Beau" - he is the bodyguard for the band Seconds to Juliet which means of course - she also has to spend all summer with the one guy she hates most in the world "Trevin". The only thing she can do now is make sure she gets her revenge on him and humilates him and make him suffer the way she did. This is going to be an interesting task though as Trevin has his eyes set on Daisy but can't understand why she hates him so much. What will happen though when the two start to spend alot more time together and things are going well and he stands her up again ? Will this incident push Daisy to the brink and cause her to do something that she might regret or will she finally get her revenge on Trevin after he breaks her heart again ?

I do have to add one thing though, the manager of the band LJ - urgh, I hate his character as he is slimy and will do anything for publicity - he reminds me of Paul Giamatti in Rock of Ages ( Stacy Jax's manager).

This is the third book in the Teen and YA Backstage Pass series that I’ve read. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all! They all involve members of the hottest boy band around - Seconds to Juliet - who are on tour and tell of how they each, in turn, meet their own Juliet. In this story, front man Trevin Jacobs is the band member who failed to turn up to escort Daisy Morris to her homecoming, despite her winning the date and it being televised. She was ridiculed to just receive an autographed photo of him instead of him actually turning up on the night. She’s had a year of ridicule after the debacle and now her Dad is taking her on their tour. He’s a bodyguard for them and is unaware of the heartache they caused his daughter, so doesn’t understand her attitude to the band members when she arrives. Nor does Trevin. When Ryley challenges him to make her fall in l love with him over the summer, Trevin agrees but the best laid plans often go wrong and she’s out for revenge. Not a recipe for love is it? However things are about to get interesting on the tour . . . .

Really enjoyed this latest addition to the series. There are lots of misunderstandings around to keep life at times very interesting and at others totally tumultuous! Great characters, wonderful writing and a star studded story make this a riveting read.

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is definitely going to make anyone smile any time of the day.

I really really really want to read the whole series and even though this turned in a really silly loophole. Which kind of reminded me of the infinity symbol...

OVERALL,
Daisy and the Front Man is a cute book. This book is definitely going to make anyone smile any time of the day. Sure, it went round and round back to were it all started but it changes. Daisy sure is quite impulsive and Trevin is this guy who is pure guy… which means he was pretty stupid. Through it all, they were lovable. The boys (in the bad) were all lovable and let me guarantee you one thing: This series is definitely one we should all check out. Not to mention the great writing. If you’re into the contemporaries, you should definitely read this one. Not only for the romance but because I love the family value. And don’t forget the moral lesson. If you want to exact your revenge, do it fast before you fall for your own trap. ;)

This was probably closer to 2.5, but I'm rounding it up to 3 because I thought it ended well. I really liked Trevin in the first two books and was looking forward to his POV, but I actually liked him a LOT less in this one. I also thought both Miles and Ryder were portrayed as big jerks for most of the book, even though they were both supposed to be nicer after the events of the previous books. Daisy drove me crazy almost the whole time. She was way, way too overdramatic and very petty. There was a big thing with her Mom that is revealed towards the end of the story and I thought the mom got off way too easily. I did like Daisy's developing relationship with her father and there were a few cute moments throughout to make me smile. So far, though, this is my least favorite book of the series.

Fun, low-stress read - kind of like ice cream on a summer day. Daisy's father is one of the bodyguards for Seconds 2 Juliet and when her mom goes on a summer vacation, Daisy goes to stay with her father for the summer. Daisy used to be a huge fan of S2J, until she won a contest and bandmember Trevin stood her up. Now she has a plan for revenge. Trevin has a plan as well. If he can make Daisy fall for him his bandmates will let him have uninterrupted time with a songwriter before the next album. But then Daisy and Trevin start actually liking each other and they can't quite figure out if they want to put their previous plans on hold or continue with their machinations. This is the third book in the Backstage Pass series.

2.5/5 Stars

Although this book is a part of a series, you do not need to have read the others. I think that my thirteen year old self would love this book. This book reminded me a lot of How To Lose A Guy in Ten Days. You have the main guy who has entered into a bet to make the girl fall for him, and the girl who's determined to make the main guy look like a fool. It's not a bad read, it's just not for me anymore. It's cute and has all the classic trappings of a preteen/teen romcom. It's just filled with the usual cliches that come with these types of books and films that I'm not a fan of anymore.

Great read! The last place Daisy Morris wants to be for her summer break is on a tour bus with S2J! After front man Trevin Jacobs caused her ultimate humiliation in front of her entire school by not showing up as promised for the prom, she have vowed to hate him forever! Trouble is, he's a really nice guy and giving him the cold shoulder gets harder and harder!

This was very well written and I really enjoyed the characters. The story moves along at a great pace as well. Overall a very entertaining YA read that I definitely recommend.

This book took me a long time to read. I honestly lost interest after like five chapters or so. I managed to finished and even though they used a plot slightly different it always comes down to trust issues, and always it's the guy's fault, even when it's both parts, like in the first book and now this one. I'm curious about Nathan and he's the last one with a book so I guess I'll finish the series eventually.
