The Omega Contract

Rate this book
Harris Cain, billionaire shifter and heir to the largest pack on the west coast, needs an heir of his own to cement his claim as the pack's true alpha.

But in a society where female shifters are sterile, Harris has to rely on a special kind of male to carry his pup: An omega.

There's only one problem... Harris is unquestionably straight.

After interviewing several candidates, he settles on Cameron Barnes--the young omega his wolf is strangely drawn to. The omega he's now imagining in his bed, submitting to his every demand...

Cam was just looking for a little fast cash. Stuck at his parents' house after a nasty breakup, he needed the huge payout offered by Cain Enterprises. Even if it meant being mated by a devastatingly handsome--and devastatingly straight--alpha.

Even if it meant losing his heart in the process.

As Harris and Cameron find themselves drawn together by a powerful, undeniable attraction, a threat looms in the shadows that could destroy their family before it's even started.

The Omega Contract is a standalone novella with a HEA ending and NO CLIFFHANGERS!

Content Warning: This book is a first time gay for you romance. It contains explicit, unprotected love scenes and male pregnancy, or Mpreg. Adults only shifter romance!

This book did not read like a shifter novel. First, the MCs weren't in touch with their wolves to realize that they were fated mates. There was knotting and biting during the sex, but it did not create a mate bond. There were no pack dynamics and never got the omega's pack background, unless it was his immediate family. There was no shifter world building.

This did not read like M/M but read like old style M/F. The MCs acted like standard Harlequin characters - the emotionally distant alpha who, in his denial, acted cold to the doormat omega who could get pregnant and whose ass self lubricated during sex. Yep, the omega was a chick with a dick.

The relationship development felt flat - the mate bond love just came too late and there definitely wasn't any human type love buildup.

Major cliffhanger - the book ended before the omega delivered.

Meh meh meh.

Okay so I love MM, I love GFY, I love shifters and I am starting to come around to mpreg. Even though I love all those things, this just didn't work that well for me.

Super short story that left me wanting more. This has so much potential if it were a full length novel but there were too many plot holes and odd turns in the story.

The MCs were distant and didn't interact that much yet we see them as mates? There are supposedly big consequences if Harris comes out as gay but we don't get to see or hear about them. Also, the whole Marco story line just confused me....it could have been left out with no hinderance to the book.

It was just okay for me - free on KU.

On to the next!

I hadn't ever read any Mpreg books -- so I figured I'd give this one a try.

Harris Cain needs help. His cousin Marco is threatening to take over his pack, so he needs an heir STAT! Cameron Barnes, an Omega, is recovering from a bad break-up, and needs money so he can move out of his parents' house...Sounds like a match made in heaven. There's a catch -- Harris is straight, but knows his duty to the pack, so after signing a contract with Cameron, he's prepared to do what he must to get Cameron pregnant with his pup. Cam's overwhelmed by his response to Harris's alpha, but knows that it's just business -- until it isn't. As Harris and Cam bond during Cam's pregnancy, Harris realizes that he cares deeply for Cam, and must follow his heart to their HEA.

Cam is sweet, but rather clueless. Initially he's only in it for the money, until he realizes that the pup he's carrying and Harris have become increasingly important to him. Harris cares more than he's prepared to admit, but he keeps Cam at such a distance (well..emotional distance...) that I just didn't see how Cam could ever be happy with someone who is so aloof and reserved.

So perhaps that explains why I found the story rather flat. There are a couple of hot sexual encounters, but for the most part it's Cam navel-gazing about his relationship problems and Harris's angst about his feelings for Cam. There's a lot of narrative in the book, rather than having the characters' thoughts and actions tell the story. And there are more than a few errors in writing mechanics, which drive me crazy. Get an editor or use the grammar check in your word processor.

So...I just couldn't go with more than 2 stars.

Pure enjoyment

I absolutely loved this story.. the passion and emotional struggle was addictive.. I couldn’t wait to find out how it would evolve further and what side of the inner struggle would win.
Loved it!

TW: male pregnancy, knotting, threatened violence against pregnant individuals

I kind of randomly selected this based off the cover, but I am familiar with most of the tropes that are being utilized here already -- the basics of shifters, knotting, omegas and alphas, etc. Your mileage may vary, but it's fairly well explained throughout.

The Omega Contract is a fairly quick read, I knocked it out in a few hours while aggressively live-tweeting it, so a dedicated reader can probably get through it in an afternoon no problem, and while the plotting is relatively fluffy it's not really the kind of book you go into for the plot and not for like the hot and heavy sex. Of which there is a decent amount.

Knew exactly what I was getting with this.
Straight (almighty) Alpha, an Omega, The Mate element, The usual cliche undeveloped plot; with the unnecessary pinning and drama✔️
The insta-lust(craze) ✔️
The girlfriend(Petrol to the drama fire) ✔️
Background secondary characters ✔️
Arch rival or nemesis✔️, and of course my favorite
The Mpreg. ✔️

A little rushed

I wanted to give five stars because I ttuly enjoy the style of these books, but particular story felt a little rushed and the ending left me feeling like it was unresolved.

It was okay. The premise had potential, and there were some sweet moments, but the story just kind of… ended. It felt like there was more to tell, and I was left wanting a bit more depth or closure. Not bad, but not super memorable either.

I give this a 4.8 stars because even though I love it I wish there was more to the ending.

The story start with Cameron who just got over a bad break up that left him for broke and had him moving back to his parent house. While looking for a job he found an ad saying the are looking for fertilized men, meaning omega man which he so happen to be, to conduct a research experiment. Fast forward and he meet Harris Cain, a rich, powerful, and straight alpha that is looking for someone that will bear his pup, who would be heir to his empire, and he found Cameron to be the one. However, while its all good and everything Cameron found out that the man is not only straight but he might be falling in love with him and know that is a hopeless love to begin with. Will Cameron get his heart broken again or will Harris give Cameron a chance and make him his true mate to start a future with.

I really enjoy this story and all the struggle that Harris has to face to really open up to the possibility that maybe Cameron is his fated mate and Cameron trying hard to feel the affect but can't help falling in love with Harris. I enjoyed till the end but like I say I wish there was more like is the pup born and is it a she or a he? And many other question that I don't want to give out cause it will spoil the story for those who have yet to read.

Overall it was my cup of tea to read and recommend anyone who love a good mpreg novel that they are looking for.

I am not normally an m-preg reader but I was dying for something to read and this got some decent reviews so I gave it a shot. I have to say that I was really surprised and pleased at how good it was. There are two different themes being explored here: 1) the men's growing feelings for each other when this was not intended to be a romantic relationship (especially in Harris's case since he has always been straight) and 2) Cam's changing perspectives on his pregnancy. Both are explored slowly and convincingly especially for a shorter work like this. I agree with other reviewers that I would have liked an epilogue, if not more story, seeing us through the end of the pregnancy. I wonder if there are plans to continue the story in another book--maybe also exploring the pack's reaction to the situation and what this does to their relationship. I would definitely read more Specter after this.

The blurb says it all. Harris is straight and needs an heir. Except females can't procreate. So he turns to an Omega for help. Cameron is in need of money and responds to the add from Harris. After 1 night (Harris takes some kind of medicine, so that he can fuck Cameron) Cameron is pregnant. After that Harris is very confused. He can't get Cameron from his mind. So after a while (and lots of soul searching) Harris gets over his confusion and starts a relationship with Cameron. But an enemy does not want the baby born. It was nice and short. Nothing special, but entertaining enough. It's like a Cinderella story. Rich guy needs child. Rich guy pays other guy. Other guy gets pregnant. In the end it's love, not just a contract. HEA. What's not to love?

I loved it. It had the male pregnancy that I wanted. The four stars is because some things weren't given much attention such as the process that enabled men to become pregnant and how the anatomy of the men changed - if it did. What were the things that Cameron's dad wanted to tell him if he forgot to take his suppressant? Was his morning sickness so severe just because? Or was it because Harris wasn't nearby? That explanation is my favourite in all shifter mPreg stories I read. Also the dynamic of Alpha/Beta/Omega wasn't really explained. When Harris bit him during the frenzy wasn't he claiming him as mate?

Very Good

I'm new to the leaving reviews thing and not really sure what to say here. This was a very good story if you like wolf shifter stories involving mpreg. The characters fall for each other over time. The alpha was straight in the beginning the omega was getting over a break up. There was not a whole lot of sex in the book but was there was hot.
I genuinely like this author's books. He can be counted on for a few good hours of entertainment without a lot of drama of characters hurting each other. Just good old fashioned love story.

I started off with mix feelings about this book since Harris was determined to just hit it and quit it and Cameron just wanted the cash. I mean, yes, they had a mutual agreement but i was afraid the author would continue on in a detached direction with both of the characters ignoring the magnetic attraction to each other. I love being proved wrong. Cameron and Harris were really sweet together. I liked seeing their interaction and Harris struggle and him ultimately giving in, consequences be damn.

Ok read

The story plot was a good idea, just wish the characters emotional standing with one another was better. The whole surrogate mother bid has been retold numerous times I just wish this put a bit, more spin on it. The characters seemed like there "aha" moment didn't fully come to fruition until practically the end of the book, the same with the cousin trouble, basically forgot he was still in the story because he had such small parts within it. I felt that the pace was gone just the development could have been better.

This was pretty standard fare for the romance genre. The characters were barely developed--only the two main characters resembled anything more than cardboard cutouts and that was only by the barest of margins. The plot was super cliche, the same sort of love conquers all that appears in so many romance novels, and the interesting parts of the story for me, most especially the pack dynamic, were mere afterthoughts. I bought it more out of a sense of whimsy, but was fairly disappointed by this cookie-cutter romance.

After leaving his cheating boyfriend, Cam's broke, living with Mom and badly in need of a job. So when he sees the ad for an omega to carry a baby to term, he decides it couldn't hurt to apply.
Harris needs an heir and he needs to breed a male omega to get one. Problem is he's straight, but finds himself strangely attracted to Cam, one of the applicant.
So they come to a deal, and first comes the baby carriage, then love, then marriage.
Sweet love story with a few spicy sex scenes - cam had to get pregnant somehow!

I really loved this book and this was a perfect way to show good out weighs the bad. Harris is an rich alpha male looking for someone to produce and heir with so his cousin (the jerk) will not take over ruler of the pack. Harris meets Cameron and fills out an application to be that person to carry a child seeing women in the pack can not. He is an omega and he falls hard for Cameron as Harris does him. All good.

Interesting story. I didn't like the end, like most, so must admit it colors my review. To me the story was left with threads in the wind.

The story isn't as long as the page count looks. It is a quick read that is kinda fun, in a quirky way. I wish that...well it needed more. It just felt lacking. All of that considered I really did enjoy it.

Good Read

This is a fast paced story. The characters are developed through the story. This is a well written story with sexual tension. The sexual scenes are somewhat graphic. There is violence in this story. Harris and Cameron are very conflicted characters with each other and life. This is a very good book.

MPreg story with a little, simple heart and some heat

A short MPreg story that swiftly but nicely works a little, somewhat simple romance with some decent heat. I'm not normally a big fan of "gay for you" but this has one of the more believable "big straight alpha suddenly desires a man" plots that I have read.

Ok

This was just an ok read for me...Harris and Cam were annoying...Harris fighting his feelings was just stupid to me...your an alpha act like it...it would have been better without the coming into feelings crap...I wish it would have been more based on the cousin plotting to take over the pack...I did finish it tho..it just fell flat..

I'm glad Mpreg now is more popular in English MM Romance today, they are overflow in my language, tending into a mode of ingredient, business aesthetic settings making me tired some how. But reading them in other language is another kind of experience.

The Omega Contract was a proper ABO fic, It will be better if at least I can see the baby born.
