Wow! How do I sum up my life? .... Well, I'm a mother of Three little princes who light my life. A wife to a very patient husband who puts up with my hectic thinking. A tattoo loving, coffee drinking, wears her heart on her sleeve, incessant chatterer!

My love is writing and reading fiction. I have to sing! Like all the time... much to my families dismay.

As for being an Author, I seriously love and support body positivity, so I write flawed characters, plus size, curvy girls in chick lit, rom-com and contemporary romance! And soon Non-fiction!
I spend way too much time on Facebook. I LOVE to chat with other readers and writers. So if you want to contact me send an email or catch me on Facebook!!

Love to all xo

Bree, Skyla and Elise had been best friends forever. Their mothers had been best friends as well, and when the three girls were all born within a short time of each other, it was destined to be. The Curvies became their title while they were in school – everyone knew who they were and the term was one of affection, even endearment.

Bree loved to sing while Skyla owned her own café and Elise was an artist with her own gallery. But they were together continually, loving and supporting each other through thick and thin. They had all had their own issues over the years, but nothing within their friendship ever changed. So when the delicious Taylor Cole returned to town after ten years’ absence, Bree felt her heart strings tug once again. She had had a thing for him way back then – but now, she was determined to remain single. No-one, not even Taylor, could break through her defences…

What an absolutely delightful novel by Aussie author Sarah Gai! It was light, entertaining, amusing and also gave off happy vibes just to complete the enjoyment. A definite feel good story and I am keen to follow up with book #2. Definitely recommended.

Curve My Song is the first book in The Curvies trilogy by Australian author, Sarah Gai. Bree, a singer, Elise, an artist and Skyla, a coffee boutique owner, form a tight-knit group of women of generous proportions in their late twenties who call themselves The Curvies. They live and work in Ithaca, NY. The narration switches between Bree, who relates current events and fills in some of the history of The Curvies, and Taylor, who has recently returned to Ithaca and is a past (and maybe present) love interest of Bree’s. Bree has some commitment issues; Taylor has a secret he has not yet revealed to Bree. While the short format does not allow for a great deal of depth in characters or plot, the main figures are likeable and the dialogue is snappy and often funny. This novella is ideal for readers who like a book with plenty of pure romance, no sex at all, a bit of heartbreak and a happy ending. The last chapter is narrated by Elise and acts as a prologue to the second book of the trilogy. It may puzzle readers to find this book by an Australian author is set in America, but it is a sweet, enjoyable romance.

This was an adorable novella about three friends, known as Curvies. What set this story about 3 rather voluptuous gals, is the absence of diet talk. These girls are big and beautiful and they have self esteem in spades.

This story focuses and her longtime crush, Taylor.

There's a lot of matchmaking going on, some bets and a few misunderstandings. It equals a funny romp that's worth the hour or so that it will take to breeze through this story.

I really wished that Sarah would have written a longer story because the end was a bit hurried, and I would have loved to have more background, etc on the girls and the guys in their lives and even more so their moms, who really shaped the way their lives turned out.

I can't wait to read the next book.

Very sweet, funny, romantic novella set in a small town in upstate NY. Set around three girls in their twenties who have been friends since childhood. Nicknamed the Curvies because of their womanly, curvy figures they are all trying to make a go of their lives and careers and find 'the one' for them.

10 SHINING CURVY STARS

Ridiculously hilarious. Sweet. Heart-warming. A novella with the right ingredients - a hearty dose of laugh, angst, romance and self-discovery.

I fell in love with this book. It sucked me in from the very beginning and kept me curiously turning pages till the very end. Loved the characters and connected with them instantly. Furthermore the chemistry between the leading romantic duo - Bree and Taylor was coming off the pages, it was an almost tangible thing. They were so sweet together and complimented each other perfectly. My heart fluttered alongside Bree's - yes Taylor is that dreamy!!! Moreover it's a big plus for me when a book promotes a healthy body image and make no mistake "Curve My Song" introduces you to a lovable and funny band of heroines, who fully accept and appreciate their womanly curves. YOU GO CURVIES !!! :)Also the music references were a fantastic addition, more than once I found myself pausing just so I can search and play the song that went with a particular scene.

As for the plot I am a bit reluctant to reveal much of it, because I am afraid I might give away some spoilers, but the synopsis does an awesome job of presenting you with an overall idea of the book's content.

Sarah Gai has done a fabulous job writing her debut novel. It was a fantastic read, deserving of my time!! Great introduction to the series. Now I am anxiously waiting for book two to come out and see what my new favorite trio will be faced with next. YAY!!!

I fell in love with the curvy group of best friends that Bree belongs to. They are strong female characters, all independent, curvy and proud. No self-esteem issues here. Bree, Elise and Skyla have been friends all their lives as their mothers were friends and they were all neighbours. These three ladies don’t hold back – they laugh together, fight together, cry together and have each other’s backs. So when Taylor returns to town to run his parent’s bar, Bree’s besties just know they’re in for a wild ride.

Bree is a singer and she is less than impressed when Skyla organises with Taylor for Bree to sing in the bar a few nights a week. Only takes a few minutes though for Bree to realise that the great love of her teens is not behind her at all. Still it is not just a matter of falling in love again and starting a new life together – that would be too easy! First there are some hurdles to get over and some secrets to be misunderstood before we can get to the happy ever after.

The romance is lovely – no dirty talk or groan by groan descriptions – just enough for you to know what’s going on and your heart to melt a little and go aaaaaah! Curve My Song is a novella and if you play your music quietly in the back ground and have a glass of wine at hand it is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. There are two more books in the series – I have just downloaded the next book in the series: Curve My Attitude

C – Above average. Was very readable and I really liked it but was easily able to put it down and walk away for a while.

4.5 out of 5 stars...
You can’t help but fall in love with the Curvies. They are such a fun group of real to life friends that are strong, independent and curvy. Bree, Elise and Skyla have been friends since birth, based on the fact that their moms were best friends; these girls were bound to have an unbreakable lifelong friendship. They grew up together and to this day, live each day knowing that they have each other’s back no matter what.
This is a quirky and fun love story, demonstrating that sometimes your friends know what is best for you before you ever figure it out. The story is focuses on the history, present and possible future of Bree and Taylor. Taylor is Bree’s past love from high school that she has done a pretty good job avoiding over the past 10 years.
This trio of girls is amazing. The immediate attraction and love felt between Taylor and Bree is undeniable to everyone that knows them. Taylor and Bree just haven’t quite figured it out yet. There are secrets to be revealed and love to be found. The book was so enjoyable; I really loved reading it and can’t wait to read more of the Curvies and their larger than life personalities.

This shorter book just flowed from one chapter to the next and it was really easy to read. Bree, Skyla, and Elise have been friends all their lives. Their mothers were friends and they were neighbors who all lived on the same block in the same town. They were all single mothers, except Bree's mom on and off. Bree has always cared for Taylor. She was her crush in high school and while he didn't ask her to the prom, she went alone and so did he. He danced with her and they shared a very special kiss she can't forget. Taylor has recently moved back to town to run his parents bar and club. Bree sings in local clubs and for special occasions. Skyla talks to Taylor and they make a deal to exchange someone at his club for Bree at hers for one day each week. Bree is really nervous when she hears this but she goes anyway. Taylor is so glad to see her and at the end of the night he walks her to her car and kisses her. This is a sweet story with some ups and downs but I know you will love it.

What a fun novella Curve My Song was to read! This is book 1 of a new series and it's a good one. I definitely look forward to reading more books by the author.

Curvies is the name for three best friends. This is a romance with lots of humorous situations that the curvies get into. It's a very heart warming story that caused me to fall in love with all the characters. They are all genuine down to earth people that will make you wish you knew them. You will feel as they are your friends by the end of the book.

If you are looking for an entertaining read, try this one. It does not disappoint and you'll be anxiously awaiting the next in the series!

It is a cute novella of three curvy women, their friendship, finding the place in the world, and old flames coming back to their lives, told in first person.
There isn't much depth into the story, or into the characters. One big drama that is solved rather fast and lightly. 'Clean' story, no love scenes.
The premises has potential to much more, I hope in the future books of the series the tale is a bit more in depth. Has a cliff-hanger type of an ending.

I was excited to see a New York book set outside of New York City. I wish the author put a bit more thought into the travel time between locations, Seneca Falls and Ithaca are at best an hour apart. It does highlight the western side of Cayuga Lake though. I am thrilled to have the main characters be curvy plus size women.

This was a fun rom com to read in one sitting. I just loved the characters of Bree, Skyla and Ellie as they came to life on the page. Larger than life in both size and personalities, the three girls live life to the full, love a practical joke and above all are best friends forever. As Bree finds love in this story her friends are called on more than once to make sure she ends up with her man.

I got this book, the first in The Curvies trilogy, for free. It was a fun quick read and I'll probably pick up the others at some point. The Curvies are three friends, who have known each other forever. This book is Bree's story. It had its moments and it kept me fairly engaged to the end.

Curve My Song, the first book in the Curvies series, introduces us to Elise, the artist with her own shop space, Skyla, who runs a coffee shop, and Bree, the singer. This is Bree and Taylor's story. Bree left her small town to make a name for herself in the Big Apple. When this doesn't work, after two months, she returns home and sings in local bars and gigs. Unlike her curvy friends, Bree feels lost at 28. She doesn't know what is next in her life. The three girls grew up together, their moms were best friends, and they did everything together, including creating the Curvies. They spent the first 13 years growing up in Madison, Wisconsin, until their moms decided they needed a new town and moved to Seneca Falls, New York. When Taylor Cole returns after ten years away, Bree is in a tizzy. She's had a crush on him since prom and wants to avoid seeing him. Well, her friends have a different idea, and do everything possible to throw them together. Taylor is determined Bree is not going to get away from him this time, which might have worked if he wasn't hiding a big secret from her. Curve My Song is a cute, although predictable story, of three best friends, more like sisters really, and their love interests. A good set-up for the next in the series. This short story flows nicely with the added bonus of being about curvy women, who enjoy their assets.

I just found this author and read this book. I'm not a person whom actually sits down to write a review very often, But this young ladie's book lifted me out of a deep down "I don't like myself" slump. I reached out on Facebook and thanked her for it, and Sarah through kindness of her own sent me an appreciative message back.

This is an "Uplifting book" about Us Curvie Normal Natural Gals that have 'true friends' of the same body type and enjoy life, have trials and tribulations like everyone else in the world....

I'm ready for Book 2 'Curve My Attitude'

I can't believe people like this book; it's the worst book I've read this year. There's no plot, no character development, the dialogue is trite, and the romance is boring. It is 107 pages of vignettes -- short scenes from about a year's worth of character time -- strung together to give you a highlight reel of a relationship with no depth whatsoever. There's a karaoke night, a girl's night, a picnic, a fight, a "surprise" reveal, and Christmas. Now you don't have to read the book.

First loves are always good and bad because they are fun to remember. For some when the reality of the full memory sets in it can be painful. This is the case for Bree Carson and Taylor Cole. Two friends that wanted more and almost had it but never quite got it.
They were great friends because each being a part of a trio Bree being a part of what the girls call, "The Curvies" because all the girls are Big Beautiful Girls. Don’t feel sorry for these girls they are a force of their own. They even have their own theme song. The other two members being Skyla and Elise.
Taylor hangs with his two best buddies and soccer players, Alex and Charlie. Who are the ones that connect the groups together? That would be Alex and Skyla for they are best friends. Although, everyone in the group knows they are in serious like but them. Same as Elise and Charlie.
This short goes into the reunion of Taylor and Bree after their mega kiss on the night of the prom in high school ten years ago. She is still angry he never came back after he said he would. And he was just gone.
Now all of a sudden, he is back in town. And he is back for her. He owns the new bar with an open mic night and her being a singer, Skyla has a plan. She is not a trusting person on account of her for just walking away from her and her mom and then Taylor just up and disappearing. Why should she trust him now even as a friend? Yeah! He hurt her. But she’s still in love with him, the puppy dog kind. No way the real kind. NEVER!
Cute book fast read. Enjoyed the couple and the three friends are funny together. I love how the author used music as a connection. The only thing that bothered me was there were a lot of unanswered questions. But this is the first in the series.

I give this: 3 stars. Was free on Amazon. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

Cute, curvy short about friends and romance

This is a quick read about a group of friends since birth, the Curvies, and their friendships and romantic interests. They seem the sort of friends that keep their inner children alive with their antics and pranks, forever teasing each other. They've held into crushes from high school dates for years, and the book shows that good things can come to those who wait.

It's a light read, not bad, but I don't feel compelled to finish the series. An example of the writing is below - as a race fan, I'm wincing at NASCAR and Indy in the same sentence, but overall it's well written and cleanly edited.

"After washing my face and tying my auburn hair into a ponytail, I pushed myself into a pair of jeans and pulled on a spinach green tee shirt. I ran to the kitchen, grabbed my keys and purse from the bench, raced to the car, and drove like a Nascar driver in the Indy 500 toward Skyla’s. I hit the steering wheel with my hand so many times, as I chastised myself. Bad friend! Bad, bad friend, Bree!."
