This is the 4th of what has been a remarkable series. While this one is okay as a stand-alone, there are a lot of references as to what has happened since the first book of the series, Carved In Darkness.

Sabrina Vaughn is a former homicide investigator, living with Michael O'Shea, a former hit man. Strange bedfellows ... but it works for them. They have staged their own deaths and only 2 or 3 people know the truth. They are happy together and it's a life she never dreamed would be possible.

When 20-year-old forensic evidence connects Sabrina to several murders, she knows she's going to have to return to the place where she had been raped and tortured and held captive for many, many days.

Sabrina goes after a ruthless murderer who has no conscience, no remorse and only wants to get his hands on her..again.

As stated previously, you really want to start at the beginning. It's been interesting seeing how Sabrina how survived and become a much stronger person than she ever thought possible. Michael will do anything in his power to protect her. But this time around, he is powerless to do so.

Very suspenseful, surprising secondary characters, bodies that keep piling up. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to the author / Midnight Ink / NetGalley who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Phew, my nerves were shredded are reading that. Megan Beaumont has really hit her straps with this, the fourth instalment in the Sabrina Vaughan series. Note, the books should be read in order but they are all sooo good.

Sabrina has finally found a measure of peace and tranquillity with Michael and their strange little family in their remote hideaway. But the peace is not to last. Sabrina must venture out into the real world to face her demons again. Her only ally a deadly assassin who is tasked with keeping her alive. Actually the interactions between these two provided some of the only moments of levity in the book.

Sabrina soon realises she's chasing the ghost of a dead man. Her nemesis, Wade Bauer, who abducted her, tortured and raped her for weeks 20 years ago is reaching out from the grave and is back stalking and killing women and hunting Sabrina. Note, this is not a ghost story.

I won't say more except to mention the pulse-pounding action, suspense and sheer terror. This was a real page turner. I hope Beaumont continues this series as it is a real winner. There are clues about further directions, especially if Michael can get rid of his chip...

Since I hadn’t read the first three books in the “Sabrina Vaughn” series, I feel like there’s a lot I don’t know or understand. The new book Blood of Saints (Sabrina Vaughn #4) by Maegan Beaumont, brings our heroine Sabrina Vaughn out of hiding to deal with a murder that has links to her past. The story jumps between the present time and the past when Sabrina (previously known as Melissa Walker) was held and tortured by Wade Bauer.

There are cameos by several characters that played roles in the earlier books, but the author writes their current roles as if the reader knows them and how they played in the earlier books. Due to my lack of history with the characters, I haven’t been able to get behind any of the characters, nor do I understand the relationship between Michael O’Shea, Sabrina, Christina & Alex.

To be fair to the series I will say this is NOT a good stand alone book, and that reading the previous books in series order is important to the overall book arc. I can tell there is something important going on in this story, and that the link to the past is an important one.

I’m DNF’ing the book at this time (42%), with hopes of coming back to it in the future, after reading the earlier books in the series.

My thanks to NetGalley, Midnight Ink who provided an early copy of the book .

No stars are assigned to the book as it wouldn’t be fair to this book or the series since I wasn’t properly prepared. Due to commitments, I may not get the earlier books read in time for an updated review.

In Maegan Beaumont's Blood of Saints, the 4th installment in the Sabrina Vaughn thriller series, she delivered us a powerful and most disturbing psychological thriller that would blow your mind. For Sabrina Vaughn, who was formally known as Melissa Walker twenty years ago, when she was tortured, raped and presumably killed by her half-brother Wade, she lived in hiding with her own small family. But when trouble knocked on her doorstep, they needed her to come out and help the FBI stop a serial killer. Posing as a FBI agent as Clare Vance, she needed to rediscover the connect to her past and connect us to the people she used to known. While she heard her brother's voice in her head, she would have to weave through the evidence and find out who's following iin Wade's footsteps. The closer she get to the truth on the identity of this mad man, she would have to fight to save her other life in order to get back home.

I don’t give unwarranted praise (ever) so you know when I offer a recommendation it comes from the heart. Maegan Beaumont's BLOOD OF SAINTS is a rocket ride of a psychological suspense thriller. Rarely do I go back and reread passages, but this one was full of “wow” moments for me. I’ve devoured the entire Sabrina Vaughn series and rate it as one of the most compelling psychological suspense thriller series, going toe-to-toe with mega-authors Lisa Gardner and Karin Slaughter. Still reeling from the read.

#4 in a dark, violent and pulse-pounding series. The main character, Sabrina Vaughn and her protector/love interest, Michael, are a made-for-movies duo. Beaumont's secondary characters are something to see as they keep the plot twists and turns flying by!

Another up-all-nighter (aka at my house as a: Too bad, kids. Hot lunch today.)

Can't wait to see what this author serves up next!

Sabrina and Michael are in the perfect hiding - yet the need to catch the cruel rapist and murderer takes Sabrina out of it. She returns to the darkest places and periods of her life to confront the psychopath/s - and her own fears.

This is the fourth in the series of Sabrina Vaughn, but can be read as a standalone in my opinion.
Trigger alert: violent rape cases. The descriptions are not graphic, but the hate and power game descriptions are powerful.

I am going for three stars just because this is a perfect case of guilty pleasure read and I aim to give higher number of stars to the literary masterpieces or high-quality read (as perceived by me). This book is none of the above. Otherwise - a reading pleasure! If you are the one to enjoy the world of killers, murderers, aesthetized violence and some heart added. And one of my guilty pleasures is to relax with the swift murder number peppered with action, sexy Rambos and smart gals! Swift, slick, dark-humour-funny and full of heart, too. One of the finer pieces in the genre!
Will read more.

One of the best suspense novels I’ve read lately. Loved the characters, the plot had lots of twists and turns, with just enough red herrings to keep me guessing until the final revelation. Alternating POV chapters also made for a fast-paced read. I was surprised by the ultimate whodunnit, but looking back, the author played fair with a few tidbit clues along the way. Lots of character twists waiting to be revealed in another installment, but I saw that the next book in the series, published in 2016, is a prequel.

Now for the reason that I’m giving an otherwise five-star book only four stars. There are so many copy editing mistakes in the ebook I purchased that I had to stop myself from throwing my Kindle at the wall at least once every chapter. I do not remember the first three books in the series being so poorly edited, I’m assuming by the author, since the books are self-published. A story this good deserved the time and attention needed to provide the paying reader clean copy. Maybe next time....

I wasn't sure if I should read this as the previous one kinda closed the series, if not too well. I should have listened to myself. It gets worse gradually, until you're rolling your eyes, asking "really?" at every turn. I'm not sure what the supernatural element was doing here, but this book could have done without it. There were some things left open, but I'm not sure just how many times you can write an ending, so there might be a spin-off, just to let us know what happened to all the side characters introduced, who had absolutely no role, other than making the book longer. Just skip this one.

former homicide inspector sabrina vaughn has finally found the kind of peace she’s always deserved. with michael o’shea, she’s found the kind of love she never thought was possible. they have both managed to create a normal life for themselves but when something from the past comes back, they are both speechless. forensic evidence has connected her to murders in her hometown. sabrina must go back to her old life where she was raped and tortured in order to search for a killer who is as bad as her rapist/kidnapper. i think if i read the books all at once, i would’ve enjoyed the series more. still recommend!!

Once again, Sabrina proved she is one badass woman. It’s hard to believe Wade had a partner. How incredibly devious was Wade to capitalize on a person’s sorrow and pain and train him to be a killer. I definitely was not expecting what happened in the book. The cases she gets involved with are some terrible cases. If only “real” life cases could be solved this way.

Ms Beaumont needs to find a much better proof reader. The book before this on in the series had quite a few typos/grammar issues. This one won 1st prize for typos/grammar. A few example: let for left, hid for his, angle for angel. Was AWFUL. And annoying.

I've enjoyed the series thus far. Looking forward to the next one.

This is by far one of my favorite series. I'm a little disappointed that the series is over and I still have so many questions. I hope this means that there will be another book at some point! I highly suggest reading this series. It is much of the same story line, so if you're not interested in books with same murder mystery plot I would skip this series. I truly enjoyed it.

I feel that in my case these series would be better without this book. In the beginning I even was glad to return to Michael and Sabrina, but unfortunately in the end I wanted to skip most of the story to get to the end of this telenovela- I was SO annoyed.

I love the Sabrina Vaughn series and this was really good. I have to say, though, I'm not happy with the direction Ben was taken. All of the characters are interesting. I love all the dynamics between them.

This wasn’t good. I think I’d like to pretend this book didn’t happen. I still don’t understand the ending and what the hell was up with hearing Wade’s voice. Too randomly paranormal dropped into the midst of everything else.

Review can be read at It's About The Book

To begin with, wow. This book didn’t hold back any punches and took off with a bang. If you didn’t know the characters already from reading any of the previous books–like me–it was tough going at first. But the power of the story and the strange creep factor of the voice in her head kept me hooked in from the start. You’re not sure what’s going on but you’re paddling as fast as you can to keep up.

In hiding for the past year, Sabrina loves her life. Okay, she has regrets some days that she’s had to walk away from all of her friends and family and forget her career as a homicide detective. Her love for Michael and the two children they’d brought into their family made it all worth it.

But somewhere, deep inside, neither had believed it would last. That the vicious killers after them would leave them alone.

DNA evidence from a case in Phoenix has a voice from the past contacting Sabrina. When she hears the particulars, she doesn’t have a choice. She has to go back. What happened to her in the past was terrible, and the thought that someone is continuing where her attacker left off?

She’s got to go. Even if someone’s luring her into a trap.

The characters were great and the conflicts were chilling. Some of the power these people had was conspiracy-level freakout-inducing, and at one point I considered making a cheat sheet just to keep up with everyone and whose side they were on. Not as gory as some suspense I’ve read, but plenty heavy on the guns and the self-defense mojo. I really loved her sidekick in this novel and I think you would too. I need a Church in my life!

This book moves lightening fast and veers from the past to the present like a train switching rails–sometimes smoothly and sometimes with a crash. If you love suspense novel series that build around a group of dangerous characters, I think this would be a great one to catch on to. I know I’m going to. Thanks

Wow. What a ride. This book will keep you guessing from page 1 until the very end. And it will also leave you begging Maegan Beaumont to hurry up and write book 5!

First things first: This is a fourth book in a series. It does continue several storylines from the previous novels. However, there is enough background included to allow you to read as a sand-alone I haven't read the other books, and I wasn't lost. In fact, I'm probably now going to read the others. But it would HELP to read the others.

Anyway, onto the story.

This novel revolves around Sarina Vaughn and her lover, MIchael, leading a quaint, if paranoid, life in an untraceable canyon. They've both faked their own deaths and are happy that way. However, one day, a message arrives that makes Sabrina leave the nest: a serial killer is copy-catting the psycho who raped and tortured Sabrina 20 years ago in the town Vaughn fled afterward. Only Vaughn may have the insight to figure out who is carrying on her dead tormenter's work.

Woo. This book doesn't stop. It drops you in the middle of the action and keeps the pedal to the medal until the very end. The psychopath villian really is loony-tunes and the setting is vaguely gothic; a small Arizona church, surrounded by desert and attended mainly by farmhands whose identities are interwoven like only those whose families have been living together for generations can be.

I don't want to give too much away, but the relationships are what makes the book: who know who and who's hiding what for whom. Pay attention to that.

The only thing would say I would change is that many of the identities begin to blend together There' a lot of names and relationships to keep track of. It can get kind of confusing. Maybe a flowchart would help.

However, don't let that deter you. This book is amazing. If you're a mystery/slasher book fan, pick this one up. You won't regret it.

Thank you Maegan Beaumont!

Ok, if you've read the Sabrina Vaughn series, then you know this novel will be awesome! And it is. Maegan Beaumont is by far the best author I have ever read, and I read a lot! Her plots are twisting, tension building, shocking works of art. Am I gushing?
No. I give all props to this author for creating characters that make you ache for them. Connecting to them over simple words that the author arranges expertly.

I think this is one of those books which would have been useful to read the previous three.
Sabrina Vaughn ex-homicide inspector (previously known as Melissa Walker) is pulled back into the web of a serial killer because of twenty-year-old forensic evidence found on a recent body. Is there a connection to the man who tried to kill her.

Another great addition to the series!!

Sad that we didn't get to see much of Michael in this one but enjoyed getting to know Church more! Definitely set up some questions to be answered in the next book, very interested in learning more about Dunn. Hopefully we won't have to wait to long for the next one!
