This was a really excellent study with deep and thoughtful questions for discussion. The one thing that marred it for me is that I'd actually have liked to have known the author's thoughts on some of the questions he posed.

I really appreciated the information panels such as the one about parched grain, the one in which it was suggested that 'Talitha cumi!' means Little girl in the tallit, arise!, the use of sandals as boundary markers, the difference between levirate marriage and kinsman-redemption, the explanation of sackcloth and ashes and its modern descendant as black armbands (since sackcloth usually came from the hair of black goats).

inspirational

Easy to read and very interesting. Short but with a major impact on the study of the Book of Esther.
