Splat's parents share a secret with him about the big surprise for his sister's upcoming birthday. Splat promises not to tell anyone, but keeping this secret is more demanding than Spike ever imagined.
I am not a huge Splat the Cat fan, but my daughter just loves him. This is a cute story though, with Splat having to keep a big secret from his little sister about a birthday surprise.
A preschool and up book about Splat the Cat overhearing a secret between his parents and being told he must hid it from Seymour and his sister to the big day. Can he do it? Twist ending. Cute
Not at all high literature, but this book had my 5-year old giggling for 30 minutes. Also, I'm not sure what I think about the idea of "keeping secrets."
There is a big difference in Splat the Cat books. I love the ones written by Rob Scotton but the ones based on Rob Scotton are less then stellar. i.e. this one.
(Review from 2018) Keeping a secret can be exhausting. It’s just so hard. But Splat wants his sister to have a wonderful birthday surprise, and she does.
My daughter picked out this book from the library and wouldn't sit still when I read it to her. But she did look at the pictures later and seemed to enjoy them.
