I’m going to review each of these books separately as I originally read them that way and I believe each book truly deserves its own review.
Random Acts of Crazy:
This book is an absolute joy to read! I couldn't put it down and I didn't want it to end! Darla is one kick-a$$ chick! We all need someone like her in our lives. Watching the relationship between Darla and Trevor unfold and getting to hear it from each character's point of view, kept me absolutely riveted! I was also completely enthralled with Joe and his own personal journey. You really feel for all of these characters and become invested in the story very early on. This is a testament to Julia Kent's seemingly innate gift of being able to bring her characters to life and draw you into the story almost from word one. You will find that to be true in all of her books. It's certainly true in this one. She manages to make these characters, seemingly polar opposites, completely relatable not only to each other but to the reader. You find yourself really rooting for things to work out for these characters against all odds. This book will take you on a hilariously sexy journey that you will enjoy from start to finish!
Random Acts of Trust:
Julia Kent has done it again! Her characters are so well written that you are drawn right in almost from word one, and this book is no exception. I was completely invested in the relationship of the two main characters right from the beginning and could not help but root for them. Julia does an incredible job of balancing humor with the intense emotional drama created in this book. She seamlessly takes you from laughter to tears and sometimes both at the same time. "Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion" per Dolly Parton in Steel Magnolias, and I'd have to say I agree.
The new characters introduced in this book are totally endearing. I am so in love with Sam right now! To be the man he is after everything he's gone through is nothing short of amazing. My heart breaks for him. Amy is so easy to empathize with. Everyone has a "what if?" in their past and unanswered questions. And Liam... well, who doesn't love Liam? On top of that, we get to revisit the intriguing characters we loved from Random Acts of Crazy. It's so good to see Darla, Trevor, and Joe again. They bring so much humor and liveliness to the story. The unlikely friendship between Darla and Amy is quite interesting to watch unfold. We even get a little bit of yummy Dr. Alex.
This book is funny, crazy, sexy, intense, hot, intriguing, and thought-provoking. You will not want to put it down!
Random Acts of Fantasy:
This book completely rocks! Oh Darla, Trevor, and Joe... how I have missed you. If you’ve read Julia’s previous books in this series, you know how gifted she is in character development... and as such she has you completely wrapped up and invested in these characters’ lives almost immediately. Julia certainly delivers with this book! The book centers mainly around Darla, Joe, and Trevor, but Liam, Sam, and Amy (and I believe she’s carrying her phone in her purse this time as opposed to other more interesting areas) also make an appearance. This book has it all... romance, laughs, thrills, love, unicorns, and, of course, it’s beyond HOT! You will not want to put this down once you start reading. This latest in the “Random Acts” series certainly does not disappoint. I guarantee you will absolutely LOVE this book!

Random Acts of Crazy
I kind of don’t even know what to say about this book. I kind of loved it, but at the same time, there were some things that left me scratching my head. Let me start by saying that I adore what Julia Kent does. She has a flair for romantic comedy that leaves me gasping for breath and my sides aching. This book is super funny. There’s lots of laughs and scorching hot intimate encounters in this story. It’s somewhere in the connections between our three lead characters that I got a little lost. It’s easy to see Darla’s love for her family and the guilt and obligations she feels. The brotherhood between Trevor and Joe is quite clearly laid out. I just didn’t totally feel the chemistry between Darla, Trevor, and Joe. I know it’s there. I’ve seen it in later books of the series, but here it fell a little flat.

This was an emotional roller-coaster. It’s funny and heart-rending and everything else in between. There’s not much I love more than to see a much deserved second chance come to be. Amy and Sam are a couple who badly needed another shot to get it right. Theirs is a story about truth, how it’s created, how it’s re-created, and the family dysfunctions it can hide. It also shows us the miracles that can be accomplished by speaking our truth. This book has lots of side-splittingly funny moments that help lighten up the darkly poignant ones. There are several one-liners in this story that I will be cherishing for as long as I can remember them. (So… for about the next forty minutes or so…) I can’t wait to read more Random.

Reading Darla is so much like reading stream-of-consciousness. You really don’t have any idea where it’s going to take you next. I love that this book shows us Darla, Trevor, and Joe getting real and getting serious about their feelings for one another. The antics leading them to the place where they could get that vulnerable left me laughing my well-padded arse off.

The Random Series Boxed Set (Random, #1-3) started out very well. Woman driving down the highway in the middle of Ohio and sees a hitchhiker wearing nothing but a collar and a guitar. A curvy woman from the middle of Ohio finding her rock star idol stoned out of his gourd and naked on the highway is not too far from reality.
The first half of the first Random book is decent with the curvy woman and the naked hitchhiker having some naked fun. Now I understand this is romantic escapist fantasy as the curvy woman ends up in a MFM threesome with two members of the same rock band. But if this is fantasy, why does the sex still have to be safe? Picking up a naked, stoned hitchhiker and taking him home to bed is not exactly safe.
Perhaps because I am a straight male I don’t get the fantasy for a woman to be desired by two men. Until Darla added the second man to her bed, and the first guy (the naked hitchhiker) is ok with it and not jealous, I thought the story was ok. But if this is fantasy, why not go all out and not have safe sex or worry about pesky things such as unwanted pregnancy and STDs?
Sex is frequent and not as raunchy as I expected once the MFM fun starts. The sex is rather tame, always safe, and not that imaginative for a fantasy. The only slightly kinky sex (other than just a threesome) does not happen until the very last chapter and almost feels like an afterthought added later, maybe for the shock factor.
The boys take turns with Darla. The naked hitchhiker makes much ado about his brief refractory period, but through all three books he is a one-and-done man. There is no sword crossing, and the only sword swallowing is by the woman, but the boys don’t mind if their bits touch while in bed.
I would not have read The Random Series Boxed Set if I had not received it for free. I doubt that I will read anything else by this author otherwise.

3 ½4 Stars! First three books in the Random Series. Each full length told in multiple POV with HFN endings. Random Acts of Crazy is a band, the secondary characters are band members and are throughout the series. The age of the band members is around 22 and I felt too old reading, I didn’t get all the references. I didn’t find them funny, or steamy. I thought they were quite wordy without anything much happening. I am interested in the other band members stories and will continue reading the series.

I did not expected the outcoming of this series but, hot dam! I just loved it, specially book 1. And the name of the series? Sooooo accurate! It makes us all just make some random act of crazy of our own!

Darla, Trevor and Joe are one hot triad! Amy and Sam are sweet and sexy. The boxed set is one crazy fun antic after another. In the midst of all the crazy adventures and temperature rising scenes there are some tense, heartbreaking and blood boiling moments. In true Julia Kent style, she keeps you turning pages, making you laugh and falling in love.

Hilarious!!! This series is unique, fun, lighthearted, sweet, cute, sssssssexy and very entertaining. I laughed out loud. I signed. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I'm addicted. You will be too.

This was a good read and a different kind of Rocker story. The start was crazy and there are some laugh out loud scenes throughout all three books. I will definitely continue to the next book or set if available.

These books are different than the ones that I usually read. Stories about threesome sex don't normally interest me. However the humor and personalities in this series kept me enthralled. I was very entertained.

Enjoyed all four stories. From Darla, Trevor, Joe to Sam and Amy and poor Liam
Be careful picking up a naked hitchhicker, you never know where he's been or what he's been with maybe a chicken named Mavis

A good read
I did like this box set. It was different and was funny in parts. Would recommend if you are looking for something a bit different to the usual rockstar story.
