The third “wonderful, addictive, sharp, and sexy” ( Cosmopolitan ) Jessie Jefferson novel from internationally bestselling author Paige Toon.

I really enjoyed All About the Hype. At this point I’ve read I’ve five full-length novels about Johnny and Meg and three about Jessie and all the other characters that were introduced in this series and I love them and have definitely grown very fond of them. I actually already kind of miss them and wish there was a fourth book in this series! This novel was a fun and very quick read just like the first two parts. However, even in this book, Jessie was still torn between Tom and Jack. That had been going on for so long that it just began to really annoy me at some point in All About the Hype which is why I’m deducting a star.
I was pleasantly surprised to love this book after not quite liking the last one as much as the first (due to Jessie's treatment of Tom). My only fault would be it repeats a little with Jack and Tom.
Once I got about half way in I couldn't put it down. Jack was not my favourite in book 2 but he grew on me so much in this one. He's such a great guy.
The mix between the UK and LA was better again in this one too.
Dana is still Dana but I love how she was brought into the story.
I am absolutely gutted that this is a series that has now finished, I have loved all three of the Jessie Jefferson books, and All About The Hype, is probably my favourite of them, as it builds to a fantastic conclusion. I am so invested in the series, I can't say how well this would work as a standalone, but if in doubt read all three of these books, as they are so well written, really easy to read, and all around brilliant stories. I couldn't believe it when I had tears pricking at the start of the book, and then again later on too, as the story takes you on a roller coaster, of highs and lows for Jessie. There is also a far more fatherly side to Johnnie this time, and I also was keen to find out which of her two potential boyfriends she would end up with. I felt really connected to Jessie and really hope this isn't the last we have seen of the Jefferson family.
All about the hype seems to be the final installment in the series about Jessie Jefferson.
Jessie is finally starting to settle into her glamorous life in Los Angeles and being the daughter of the world-famous rockstar Johnny Jefferson. Still she manages to get into lots of trouble.
Again I found the book highly entertaining and enjoyed following Jessie through the ups and downs of being part of a famous family. I really liked that Jessie remained the down-to-earth girl while being sucked into that whirlwind kind of life. I also might be obsessed with Johnny but I really enjoyed him turning all dad on Jessie. There were some really hilarious moments.
Paige Toon's writing style is fast-paced and enjoyable as always. I really hope that one day we can go back again to the Jefferson universe.
Sadly, All About the Hype is the third and final book of the Jessie Jefferson series 😭 I can’t believe it’s over!
Bestest and funnest series ever!
To make the most of the series it’s best to read all six books starting with the Johnny Be Good series:
Johnny Be Good Baby Be Mine Johnny’s Girl
Jessie Jefferson series:
The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson I Knew You Were Trouble All About the Hype
So addictive! Extremely hard to put down once you start reading. Highly highly recommended if you're into fun and rock stars and just a bloody good time.
My heart is SOARING. Is this really the last Jessie book? :( No, it just can´t be. Please write a bunch more, because I LOVE cheeky and wild girl Jessie. I love her glitter hollywood world (It has got an EXTRA bucket of glitter in this book. Seriously the glamour is really shining through) I love the tension – who is a friend, who to trust, what do people mean etc. I love the romance! What not to love about the first love with it´s sexual tensions eh eh? I felt my cheeks turning red during some of the pages. It really gets hot at some point. *fan self*
Jessie is still in the making. It´s only a year since her mom passed away, and even less since she got to know who her dad was. He has always been the thing her mom never talked about, and Jessie feared that she would never get to know who he is. Stu, her stepdad, tells her about him because Jessie is in grief, and not dealing with it in a healty way. Her dad is the famous rockstar Johnny Jefferson.
In book three Jessie has taken the decision to live with Johnny. To get him and his family to know better. It means that she will begin in a new school – the kind where all the students are celebrities – and she will begin a daily life.
My head was spinning with all the things and projects she begins – driver lessons, exams, new friends, her family, boys(!) and no least her favorite the music. She has joined a indie rock band, and she just loves it. It´s what she imagine herself do for a living and she really show her skills in this book.
Jessie´s journey has been really exciting to follow! Jessie is not only in that part of life between kid and adult, she also has two personalities that she has to come to terms with. There is her mom´s world where she is Jessie Pickerill, a girl who had very little, but had all she needed – a loving mom and her friends. Vs. her dad´s world where she is Jessie Jefferson, the daughter of a famous rockstar, living in a world with glitter and gossip, and where if you dare your dreams can come true. She still has a foot in each of the worlds, and it was great to see her find her footing.
Some of my favorite scenes in this book is; Tom visiting (I love that boy), Jack vs. Tom. The Dana situations (yes THE Dana. You will know who I mean if you have read Baby be Mine. Book 2 of Johnny & Meg´s story if you are new to their world) And finally the dear – but oh so irresponsible - Gramps babysitting. What is it they say; the parents away, the teenagers......
There´s lots of fun things happening in this series. A perfect summer read.
We are back with Jessie, Johnny, Meg and Co.!!! Finally!!!
All About the Hype is book 3 of Paige Toon’s Jessie Jefferson series and also connects her YA books to some of her other books! I think that’s why I’m still so fascinated and excited about it.
Jessie is now living with her father and starts school in LA. It all starts with a birthday party her dad organises, but it doesn’t really turn out great, all it does is make her think of her mum. She spends a lot of time with her new friends, her band mates and even her friends from England and stepdad Stu come over for some visits.
Jessie is such a great addition to the Jefferson family and I loved following her adventures in this book. I absolutely adored the scenes between her and Jack, I think they are great together!!! Paige added some great romantic scenes in this book, her writing fits them in perfectly and adds some vivid sparks to the story. Johnny and Meg are one of my fave Paige Toon couples, so it’s just awesome to be back with them. It’s so lovely to see Johnny as a dad. He also has some lovely moments with Meg in this book, I just adore them all to bits!
Jessie meets some new people in this book, one of them being Dana, yes THE Dana (if you don’t know her read Paige’s other books about Johnny) and of course that adds a lot of drama to this story! Oh and I quickly want to mention gramps, he is great! Him "babysitting" Jessie is hilarious!!!
Another thing I really liked about this book, is the way singing and music are included. Johnny and Jessie share a wonderful thing in this book and that actually made me cry.
This story is truly magnetic and full of sparks! This story takes you on an exciting roller-coaster ride, full of emotions, excitement and passion. There is a lot going on in this book, but it never got to a point where it was too much. I actually really liked this fact and I think it added even more glimmer to this book. Not only Jessie, but obvisouly also Johnny and Meg and some other characters got part of their story told, this is just fab! Jessie is a bubbly character and it’s so awesome to read her perspective, I felt like being in her head! Is this really the last book?! I want more of Jessie and Johnny!!!
Normally a super fan of Paige Toon and would easily say she is my favourite author. However I feel let down by this book. The character of Jessie is selfish and fake, I just didn't like her in this book at all. I also found myself just reading it to find out about Johnny and Meg - who are the real stars of this story. After reading a lot of YA recently, I found Jessie's character to be over the top and unrealistic. Everything was a little too dreamy, and I hated her by the end for taking her dad's name. Where's the loyalty?! Feel bad for reviewing this negatively but it will definitely go at the bottom of the list in my Paige Toon favourites (her adult books on the other hand are INCREDIBLE.) Positives of this book were: Johnny, Meg, Barney and Phoenix, Tom (love him!) and Agnes. Also enjoy hearing more about the Jefferson household and glad to see that Eddie and Santiago still feature. Although a pleasant story, the main characters made it an unenjoyable read for me.
Well glamorous life in LA is fabulous but when you’re a teenager with friends and family still living in the UK it can be tough and we really explore that in the culmination of this trilogy which is fast becoming one of my favourite Young Adult trilogies of all time, and it really has stiff competition.
I really feel like we get to know Jessie fully in this novel. We have explored a lot of her life so far but not only does she celebrate her birthday in this book but that also means marking the anniversary of her mum’s death and so we really do see her raw and exposed. We see even more than ever that she is just like other teenage girls and dealing with the same kind of things that they have to deal with in terms of friendships, education, family and love.
Don’t get me wrong, this book does take it to a whole new level of glam too. I mean when you start reading about what Jessie is getting for her birthday and how the day will be spent, I can only say that Paige Toon must have had an awful lot of fun planning and writing those chapters, it sounded amazing. With that goes a whole lots of emotion though and this book was a whole emotional rollercoaster. One minute you’re having fun with Jessie at a glamorous party or performing with the band and the next you are feeling the rock bottom when she realises the price of fame and misses the only other home she has known.
I loved Jessie in this book. I love the adventures that she has, I love the feelings that she shares and I love seeing her go through the whole coming of age process over the course of this trilogy. Again we have some amazing scenes with Johnny and Meg and it was great to catch up with them again, they can take me to Disneyland anytime they like. I really loved this trilogy and I hope that this isn't the last we have seen of Paige Toon’s adventures into the world of YA fiction!
Me encanta Jessie.
Iré a stalkear a Paige.
Pages: 320 My rating: 4 Read other books by this author in the future: yes
I liked the first book of the series, but the second and third book was much better and I loved them.
So this is the last part of Jessies Journey. And it was a nice and entertaining ya read. She has to do some more growing in this book and she alway has to move between her two world but it was a good ending to the story, even if I would like to know, how the band thing will go on and also the relationship with her guy.

Once again we join Jessie Jefferson in the 3rd and final instalment of the Jessie Jefferson YA series. Jessie has become very well known very quickly thanks to her true identity being revealed and now she is approaching the 1st anniversary of her mums death and her 16th birthday. So much has happened in the last year its crazy how much, Jessie became a very angry teen girl when her mum died and didn’t know who her real dad was. Jessie believed the truth regarding who her biological dad went to the grave with her mum, but it turns out her stepdad, Stu knew all along.
Jessie’s life has turned upside down on its axis since finding out who her dad was as he is no other but international rockstar, Johnny Jefferson. Jessie has since gone to LA to live with Johnny, Meg and her 2 half brothers Barney and Phoenix. How long she stays there though is anyones guess.
I loved the entire Jefferson series and so sad that its over. The way in which the whole entire series is written made me feel as if I was apart of the Jefferson Family too, it has a way of being you actually feel as though your in the room with them. I hope maybe one day that Paige Toon will revisit the Jefferson Family, id also love to see how the kids cope with the price of being who they are. A lot of celebrities offspring in real life go off the rails so it would be good to see something different.
I am still a big fan of this series. paige toon’s writing style is nice and fast-paced , which made the overall series a really quick read for me. my favourite part, aside from her family bonding and friend relationships, is her actual relationship!! i seriously think jack mitchell still holds up years after i first read about him. jessie’s descriptions of him honestly just hit and although he feels so unrealistic, i really loved him. Literally who does not want a hot guy who’s in a band and dedicated to you?? to be fair, he did not seem the most committed and monogamous from the beginning but he improved so much from before. also his descriptions and their interactions are really hot. Something that was a bit questionable was the (non graphic) sex that happened because she’s like 16 so i was a bit apprehensive thinking back to more realistic 16 year olds but like anything can happen to anyone right? i just want a jack in my life :(
For a YA series I can’t believe how much I loved it and how sad I am it’s finished. Absolutely adored this book and found it exciting as well as emotional. Everything got tied up so well at the end but hope the author shows us a grown up Jessie in future books.
When one of your favorite authors write YA, you read it even if YA is not your troop anymore. I enjoyed Jessie’s teenage, naive mistakes while Johnny figured out how to be a dad of a hot blooded teenager 😊
I am still really really hang up on Johnny and want to see more of Johnny so I didn't really care much about the romance between Jessie, Tom and Jack. I know Deena was plotting something but I didn't know it was something that lame . I expected it to be something more dark and sinister instead she just send photos of Jessie partying and getting a tattoo to Johnny. Lame
I have enjoyed all of the Jessie series so far, mostly for how easy they are to read. I was intrigued to see where Paige would take the story and the character.
As Jessie has to adjust to being watched by the whole world as well as having to deal with how things in L.A. differ from the U.K. From starting a new school where all the pupils are famous to feeling like she's losing her friends back home Jessie seems to have it all thrust on her.
The story starts with Jessie struggling with her emotions on her 16th birthday which is also the 1st year anniversary of her Mum's death. As her Dad and her new family try to make the day a special one Jessie's emotions eventually win out and she runs out of her surprise party.
As the story continues Jessie struggles to juggle all of her lessons, the band and being the friend and person everyone needs. I can imagine for a 16 year old it would be very challenging to go from being free to do whatever to suddenly having to have somebody know and watch your every move. We see throughout the story that Jessie struggles not being able to go wherever she wants and having to ask permission and being escorted.
Of course there's still her love life to contend with as Jessie finds it hard to put her complete trust in Jack especially as they decide to keep their relationship secret from the rest of the band. We also see how she fights against the little part of her that still likes Tom and is pulled towards him at times.
I enjoyed this story and particulary liked how easy it was to lose myself in the pages. Aimed at a young audience I found it was simple and I didn't need to think about it and could just enjoy it for what it was. Paige doesn't disappoint with anything she writes and the Jessie series was no exception.
I think it would be awesome if we come back to Jessie in a future adult book of Paige's. I'd love to see where life takes Jessie.
The ending though was satisfying as Jessie finally begins to feel part of the Jefferson clan and starts to relax and enjoy her new life. Overall a fabulous series and would I will recommend to all young readers who want something simple and light hearted to read.
There are no words to explain how much I loved this third and final book in the Jessie Jefferson series. I am so glad that I waited to start this series when all of the books are out because I loved being able to binge read the whole series.
Jessie Jefferson has been on quite a journey. From finding out her real dad is superstar rock singer Johnny Jefferson, to getting used to being famous herself to being the front woman of an up and coming rock band. Her life has changed dramatically and I loved following her story throughout the trilogy. It was such an incredible read.
Before starting this series I loved Paige Toon. She was my favourite chick lit author and the reason I am such a big reader now but from reading this series she has shown that she can write just about anything. I'd absolutely love to see Paige try her hand at another genre, like fantasy or paranormal or dystopia or something. That would be awesome. Paige's writing is stunning, addictive and funny and I absolutely loved every moment of it.
I love the characters, the story and absolutely everything about this book. One of my favourite things was seeing Meg and Johnny and their family. I loved their own novels so much and it was amazing to see that. One thing I adore about Paige's books is that they all interlink together and it's amazing. I'd love to see Paige write a book about Lottie and Brandan as they need their own story.
I loved All About The Hype so much. It was a perfect ending to a perfect series, and one that I will re-read again and again. I can't recommend Paige's books enough and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. If you're wanting a book that will steal your heart then this is the one for you. It's stunning and phenomenal. A must read for everyone.
We start this book of a year on from Jessie's previous birthday where she lost her mum and her life changed forever from that moment pretty much.
Everything is still changing as Jessie settles into LA school, gigs with the band and attends parties. There's also a lot of drama between her and Jack as their relationship continues in secret from their band mates.
As Sienna, a new friend of Jessie's reveals her sister Dana is Johnny's ex from when he was using drugs and alcohol, Jessie tries to distance herself only to find herself drawn in and in a whole heap of trouble as she gets drunk and does something permanent.
As their relationship heats up and people find out they're a couple as well as facing their first gig together as an out couple will they pull it off or will they find the pressure too much?
I found this book good to tie up the trilogy but got a bit tired of the Tom and Jack ex's at war dynamic which seemed to plague the whole book since Tom shows up at Jessie's birthday party.
It kills me to only give three stars to this third installment of the Jessie Jefferson series, BUT I really, really disliked Jessie in this one and felt like she didn't deserve all the attention she was getting and she certainly didn't deserve Tom OR Jack. It was really painful to read, which is why it took me a WEEK (it never takes me this long to read Paige's books, especially not her YA ones) to finish it. On the bright side, I loved the ending and made my peace with Jessie during the last 50 pages. All is good.
I would really love to hear from Lottie and Brandon again. Maybe that's an idea for another short story or even YA book, Paige? ;-)
Unfortunately when I picked up this book I didn’t realise that it was part of a series and found that in some parts of the book I had no clue what was going on. However as the book went on it became clearer who was who which made it easier to understand. At the start of the book I really didn’t like Jack because I felt he was being REALLY over protective of Jessie but as the book went on he allowed her to do her own thing. But I would recommend reading the full series instead of reading just one.
It took me a long time to finish this book. It was just too easy to put it down and not pick it up again. I enjoyed book 2 in this series 'I knew you were trouble' but in this book Jessie wasn't as down to earth as before and being swept up in her new hollywood life just ruined the character for me. She just wasn't as likeable as she was in the previous book.
I loved this, I just love Paige Toon books and Johnny has always been one of my favourites, so reading more about him in the Jessie Jefferson books have been the best! I'm a bit sad that this was the last one but it at least felt like a proper ending.
