Never Again

Rate this book
Not even a year after marrying the guy she'd thought was the love of her life, Cora Knowles is already requesting a divorce. To her recollection, philandering was not a part of her wedding vows, and she wasn't about to stand by while 'Sally from accounts' rolled about on her Egyptian cotton sheets.
While trying to soothe her broken heart with copious amounts of cake and liqueur chocolates, her best friend, Olivia suggests that the best way to get over someone, is to get under someone else. Problems arise when the one Cora 'gets under' turns out to be the son of the Director of Prosecution—her boss. Worse still, he's young. Younger than Cora originally thought, and younger than she's comfortable with.
But, when the attraction is undeniable, Cora needs to decide whether she'll turn her back on the enigmatic Brandon Sharp, or take a risk and follow her heart, even though she promised herself she'd never do that again...

Favorite Quotes:

For me, social media was about sharing the best of my life and spying on other people’s. That’s why, when I found out my scumbag of a husband was cheating on me, I didn’t share a single tidbit of information with the world. I quietly changed my relationship status from ‘married’ to ‘it’s complicated’, then proceeded to cut the crotch out of every single pair of pants he owned.

There might be plenty of fish, but last night, I caught a shark. How am I supposed to go back to fish after I had shark?

“I’m not responsible enough to have a baby. I’m selfish and conceited and I don’t love anything other than my own reflection.” “That’s not true at all. You love money too.”

Addicted? You’re blaming this on a disease, Jack? As far as I know there is no legitimate disease that causes accidental dick insertion.

My Review:

Doing a bit of damage to her philandering husband’s head with her laptop after catching him bumping uglies with a coworker caused Cora a heap of trouble on the job, it appears that prosecutors aren’t supposed to be violent. Her wily cheat of a husband turned out to be full of shocking surprises for the oblivious Cora. But lucky for Cora, she was too distracted by her new intern to be as torn up over the death of her marriage as she could have been as despite her transitional age of twenty-nine, she had quickly turned into a sex-obsessed teenaged boy after one sampling of the dimpled and freshly minted twenty-year-old sex god. They scorched the sheets and many other flat surfaces. Oh my, this one was a sizzler. Packed with expletives, erotic and salacious sensual scenes, scintillating and naughty banter, this one would definitely straddle the line of adult contemporary and erotic romance, but there was a rather sweet romance occurring between all the smoking hot sex. Written from a first person POV, the storyline was entertaining and relevant while the writing was engaging, cleverly amusing, and while heavily sensual it was also emotive. The story featured a large and memorable cast of quirkily endearing, intriguing, deeply flawed and wounded characters.

***FIVE STARS***
Omg, I freaking adored every single second of this lovely story. This baby totally brought me out of the book slump I've been in for the past few weeks!

Lately I've been craving any kind of story that would fill my endless angst fest, and this story about Cora, walking in on her husband screwing some other woman in her bed, leading to the destruction of her marriage, sounded like it would fit the bill.

It absolutely did. I was sucked in from the very first page and savored every word of this tale. After Cora met Bran and they had their first smoking hot animalistic sex together, I was totally over needing my angst fix. Every single sex scene between these two brought to life all the incredible feelings of a brand new relationship. Especially that crazy whirling stomach feelings brought up every time seeing one's new lover, as well as the intimate encounters that take a person's breath away. It was all yummy as hell.

Cora and Bran were smoking hot together and I could not get enough of them. Especially Bran. He was such a sweetheart. It was fun experiencing all of Cora's emotions; anger, loss, heartbreak, gutting devastation, and betrayal. Then it was fantastic experiencing Bran building back up Cora's self esteem once again after having it completely devastated by her cheating prick of a husband.

I truly adored this story and I even got a bit more of my angst fix towards the ending of this baby. This one is definitely one for my re-read shelf. How have I never heard of this author before? So happy she's got a plethora of other stories out there for me to dive into next.

This book is such a gem. It is the first I have read by this author and I will have to read more by her. The H, Brandon’s character is my new book boyfriend. He is Alpha and absolutely delicious and perfect. Yes his character is a 20 year-old man, but he is very emotionally mature. He is so perfect and this book is on fire! I absolutely love him.

I felt so mad on the h’s behalf because her cheating husband is such a shit and he’s able to play the system to make Cora’s life a living hell. She’s kicked out of her own home and she’s demoted. Things keep getting worse because he’s a textbook sociopath and the king of gaslighting.

Cora and Bran begin as a one night stand but then he ends up being her boss’s son and her new unpaid intern! Bran won’t stay away and Cora decides she doesn’t want him to. I LOVED everything about this book. It’s uplifting and delicious. There are several funny parts. One of my new favorites. Read it!

Wowee!! I had the pleasure of reading an arc of Never Again and I went into this story completely blind, with no idea of the plot or characters….what an experience it was. I was captivated by the very first chapter and could literally feel the connection coming through the pages. This story is addicting, so much so that I didn’t want to be an adult any longer, as I wanted to lock myself up to read every single word uninterrupted. This was such a captivating story and pretty damn hot, I’m sure you’ll get all the feels. I wish it didn’t have to end as I could easily read more of Cora and Brandon!!

I love older woman/younger man stories.
I hate society cliché that a man must be older.
As we say in Germany: there are only 2 things a person must do – to go to the toilet and to die. The rest is optional.
Sorry for such colorful quote *lol*

Overall: Very intense. I couldn’t put it down.

Age is just a number!

Alex in facts: I hate, I loathe the word ‘cougar’, when they speak about older woman.
Fuck clichés, fuck what the others think!

GOODNESS GRACIOUS!!! This is definitely not something that I would have seen coming my way after reading the first couple of pages! It's hot, it's amazing, it's everything you weren't expecting at all. Olivia is the best friend we all want and Brandon is the man of our dreams but their story is one for the books. Y'all will absolutely love like no other!!

ARC received for an honest review

Two words - LOVED IT!

Lilliana Anderson has done it again with Never Again. Cora and Brandon's story is one of inevitable love. No matter what they say or do, you just know that their story is going to be epic.

There is so much emotion, you just cannot help but feel right along with Cora.

Bran is just...

I really, really didn't like her cheating ar5e of a husband. Oh my goodness he is a piece of work. Not going to lie, some things she did to him - well, I might have really wanted to do too - but more.

Bran is the guy we all need in our lives. Young, hot, and completely enamoured with Cora, but there is so much more to him that I tripped and fell in love with him right from the start.

I freaking LOVE Cora's best friend Olivia. She is the kind of best friend every girl needs in her life. She made me laugh so hard at times.

I was completely swept away in this book. It is sweet, and sexy, and all kinds of complicated. And I couldn't put it down once I started.

Now I am off to find a Bran of my own. Wish me luck!

DNF @ 35%

So obviously I’m the minority here with a 1-Star review among all the 4- and 5-Star reviews so take this review how you’d like. I wasn’t able to finish this book which is really disappointing for me because I would love to read about an older woman/younger man romance. I think a lot of the problems with this book stem from the fact that it’s a first person POV but only from the heroine’s perspective. Perhaps I could have gotten behind the hero more if I got more of his inner dialog. Perhaps I could have found the heroine less annoying if there was a break with switching between perspectives. Who knows? Here were my 3 major problems with the book:

1. Lack of chemistry. I felt nothing between the two main characters. So much so that I skimmed their first sex scene (this was the only sex scene I read as they hadn’t gotten to another before I threw my hands up and closed the book for good). Honestly the scene felt amateurish. There’s a lot of grunting and growling and whatever else but there’s no TENSION. There’s no creating of this sexual need. If any of you have read a hot sex scene you know what I’m talking about. I think part of this was how the scene up to sex was laid out. It was all across the room glances which don’t get me wrong, those can be hot, but it was too broken up by the inner monologue of the heroine deciding whether she could do it and thoughts about the ex. Killed the mood and the connection big time. And again some of the heat could be helped with the hero’s perspective. Any interaction/“chemistry” between the characters after this felt unnatural.

2. Second big problem with the book was the hero. Maybe he gets better as the book progresses but I couldn’t stand how he was acting in the beginning. That, coupled with number 1, was enough for me to stop reading. Yes, the hero is young and therefore can get a pass on some immature behavior, however, the point is to endear me to the hero. What makes this guy different from any other guy his age that would make us and the heroine fall in love with him? That’s what the author needs to show me in order for me to get behind the pairing. This is what I get from the hero instead: cocky, indifferent, and pushy/ doesn’t accept the word “no”.

Cocky- his whole attitude screams that he thinks he’s the man but it’s done in such a way that it becomes cocky instead of confidence.

Indifferent- again this might be helped with his POV but when they first meet at the club he literally buys her a drink and then walks away. No flirting, no lingering eyes, nothing. This really bothered me as a initial meeting because it shows to me no interest on his side. If a guy buys me a drink and says it was because I looked like I needed one and then walks away, I would assume disinterest from him and not pursue anything further with him because there were no interest indicators.

Pushy- this one really irritated me. I’m not someone who gets on the soapbox about needing to explicitly say yes before anything sexual happens but someone explicitly saying no and the person keeps pushing is a huge turn off to me. For example, he makes her take off her panties and give them to him at the office. She clearly says a couple times that she doesn’t want to but he comes back with “do it or I’ll do it for you.” That’s threatening to me and not someone I want to be in a relationship with because they are clearly ignoring my wishes. Then you have the monologue from the heroine saying she’s feels fear but it’s okay because she is probably turned on. What?! Hard NO. You feel fear with your partner then you are with the wrong partner. Can you feel nervous? Anxious? Etc? Absolutely. Those indicate that you may have reservations but still willing to try, especially if the dialogue supports this. Feeling fear... absolutely not. This attitude from the hero that he can get what he wants because he’ll just make her really turns me off and it continues to other issues through the parts that I read.

3. Last but not least we get to the heroine. My main problem is that she lacks conviction. She decides she can’t be with the hero after finding out she works with him but then she sees him or smells a hint of him and she’s ready to toss off her panties and present herself to him wherever regardless of her previous talks with herself. Again, I’ve read books with sexual tension being a huge factor and pull between the main characters but it doesn’t exist here for me. Without that, all I see is someone who is fine being run over by all these “alpha” males. The author also portrays her as sexually naive. Yes she has only had one sexual partner so maybe she doesn’t know anything crazy but to not know what a vibrator is? At her age and in this day and age? Nonsense and unneeded. Finally, she is supposed to be an intelligent woman in the legal field. Why then is she putting herself in situations with her husband where he can use it legally against her? Maybe she holds out hope she can trust him but it’s honestly ridiculous.

Anyway those are my two cents. Maybe this one just wasn’t for me but I wanted other readers to be aware of my issues with the book before they decided whether to read or not.

Enjoy!

Where do I start with this book? Let me begin by saying that normally, I avoid age gap books where the female is older simply because she's usually incredibly insecure about her age. Every second page is the heroine thinking (or talking) about being old and it becomes so freaking irritating!
And it pisses me off because in age gap romances where the male is the older character, authors don't have him whining over how "not pretty" he thinks he is or how "old" he is, nor does he constantly complain to the love interest about how there are "younger and prettier" boys for the heroine to date. I find it incredibly sexist that older women are written that way, but in men their age is seen as power and sex appeal. 🙄
Let it be noted that I'm in my early twenties so my opinion is not based on me being "triggered".

I am so damn happy this book is the exception!! So. Goddamn. Happy!
Our heroine knows she's older, but be she doesn't dwell on it at all and I fucking admire her for going after what she wants -- which is a sexy, twenty year old named Brandon.

The chemistry between these two characters is ELECTRIC. Actually, electric isn't even a strong enough word to describe it. Their chemistry is like lightning on crack. Honestly.
This book takes you back to those wonderful 2013 era romances that I miss. The indie publishing industry now is full of romances that have absolutely no substance. They're all about dirty sex and shock value. It's almost a competition to see who can write the naughtiest, dirtiest sex scene and then put it on a teaser that no one can "like" because they don't want it popping up on their relatives Newsfeeds. Romances from "newer" authors these days aren't even full length anymore. I mean, come on. Put some effort in!!

...okay, I got off topic a little.
This review is about Never Again.
Refreshing, lovely, Never Again.

I want to take a minute to praise Ms. Anderson for not following your typical formula. There were so many familiar paths she could have taken, but she didn't. Her heroine was strong and stuck to her plan. Not once did her personality waver and I admire her so fucking much.

The complication of this love story is in the ugly form of her ex-husband, Jack. I loathe Jack. I want to cut the crotch out of his pants and take his dick along with it. I absolutely cannot stand that selfish, narcissistic asshole!
Jack does everything he can to get Cora to take him back after she caught him banging another woman in her bed--even blackmail. I was going to end the book there, thinking I knew exactly what was going to happen. I've read so many of these tropes that I can usually tell you the end of the book by time I've finished reading the first chapter -- my husband hates me for it, lol, -- But this book didn't go how I expected it to and that's what made it so damn refreshing.

Our Hero is alpha as hell. There are no words that can describe how smooth and mature he is for his age. Toward the end of his book, we see his child-like vulnerability, but it's nothing you wouldn't expect given his age and his morals.

The secondary characters in Never Again compliment the story, and the main couple, nicely as well as help set the backdrop for this wonderful age-gap romance.

I can't say enough about Never Again. I can't give it enough praise. I can't express my gratitude to Lillian Anderson in words that are good enough.
I loved this book.
Wholeheartedly.
This is my first read by this author and I'm glad I took a chance on it.
Lilliana Anderson has a gained a fan for life!

P.s. Brandon has a dirty mouth and the sex is HOT!

Never Again is a really well written older woman, younger man contemporary romance. There is an excellent blend of steam, angst, humour and life baggage woven into a story that totally held my attention.

As well as the older woman, younger man issues, Cora has an almost ex-husband that you just know is going to be a source of trouble. Cora and Bran's first meeting was also meant to be their last, at least as far as Cora was concerned. Life and Bran have different plans, and boy some of those plans are a little kinky and a LOT steamy. Wowsers this pair have enough chemistry to melt your kindle.

They both keep secrets from each other which inevitably come and bite them on them on their 'arse'. I love that these books are set in Australia, with their almost British vocabulary. Although at times I wanted to shake Cora, I also totally got her reasoning. In fact this was one of the things I loved about the book, actions/decisions that you knew were stupid ("Oh that's so going to blow up in your face" stuff) were well explained/reasoned away.

I can't put my finger on why I loved this story so much, or what exactly it was that captivated me. What I do know is that I totally LOVED this book, I virtually read it in one go, not wanting to put it down. I was just totally captured by Cora and Bran and am sad that I don't have the words to do their story justice. Whilst I've only read a few books by this author this is by far and away my favourite so far and I happily recommend it.

Never Again is an older woman, younger man romance. Something that in the past has not been my favourite troup to read. I found myself enjoying reading Cora and Bran's story because it had such a twist of a storyline. The characters drew you in and you couldn't help but like them and want Cora to see that she and Bran belonged together.

Cora is a little scared, a bit jaded and hurt by her past. Bran is what book boyfriends are made of. Olivia kept things entertaining, she was a fun character, she's the character that reminds you of a close girlfriend that you can't help but smile at. It had the right mix of funny, sweet and sexy to confound the angst.

It was well written, this was the first book by Lilliana that I have read, a wonderful treasure was found within this the words of book.

I have no idea WTF I just read.... but the whole ride was fun..

I laughed out loud way too many times (and made a lot of people think I was cray-cray on the train ride home).

Really enjoyed this.... Minus the parts where I wanted to slap some sense into the MC & go criminal-minds-level psycho mastermind on her POS husband, like SHE should have from Day 1. Embrace the crazy! Go batshit when warranted...But you can't have witnesses, girl! The term woman is supposed to synonymous with Machiavellian.

The Little Devil perched on every woman's shoulder agrees:

[MC's LD VOICE OVER: *Channels Mufasa* It seems you have forgotten me...]

Umm...So despite this being a ROMANCE novel and me REALLY enjoying it overall.... I didn't buy the instant or even mid-book romantic (Read: ILYSM) connection... the love story seemed more lust than anything. And they didn't know much about each other AT ALL until the very end when shit hits the fan. I'm torn as to whether I ever want to meet a guy who can make me fall in love with him using only his d*ck. (translation: I don't believe its possible, but if any one of my 10000000000000 celeb BAES wanna give it a try.... #HollaATMe)

So yeah....this was very entertaining. I read it straight through, within a couple hours & I'll definitely be reading more Liliana Anderson.

Full Disclosure though: I almost never skip the 'sexy times' scenes in novels, but I skimmed straight through a few of the ones here because it felt a little like I was reading Erotica when there was barely any getting to know each other outside of giving each other the f*ck me face, risky sex & then waxing poetic (read: moaning) about how wrong the situation is.

After.

(almost)

Every.

Time.

(I prefer more plot with my smut, thankyouverymuch... also the wash, rinse, repeat of "OMG What are we doing?!" every time made me think of that confession I read on College humor years ago about a chick who had to dump her religious boyfriend because he would cry and repent for his sins in the shower every time they had sex) .

Also, also (since i'm already rambling anyways) I've recently discovered a romance genre pet peeve that's been latent for a while now.... THERE SHOULD BE A LIMIT ON HOW MANY 'Whoah is me, my ex never did this, he always said that, i can't stop thinking about how he never this' TANGENTS I HAVE TO READ THROUGH in between every damn interaction with the new guy/girl.

SIDEBAR: It's 10x worse when the book is only from one POV. At least if they're both comparing their exes to the new guy/girl its more balanced. I mean the guys POV comparisons usually irks me more since its always 'my ex is a gold-digging slut & so is every other horny female trying to put the moves on me EXCEPT this new girl because she's the star of the story so #enoughsaid but whatevz. Men are hardwired to be dipsh*ts, especially when you're no longer relevant to them or their penises. (Bet my exes won't SAY IT TO MY FACE though)

*BACK TO MY COMPLAINT* >>>>>>> I'm reading about the lovebirds , okay? And maybe its just my picky ass, but nothing puts the fire out on what should be a HOT as Hell scene, nothing takes the OON out of my Swooning faster than every other sentence being, "oh God, that feels SOoOoO....OH!--me and my ex never had sex like this--omg that's so good----my ex's d*ck was nothing compared to---OMG He said he loves--why didn't my ex love me like--oh yeah, that's it new guy...just like-my ex never did THAT, he, yadda yadda--OMG this new guys perfect--why couldn't my ex...."

description

Seriously?

Seriously!!

No, but like....Seriously...

GURLLLL I get it, okay? The new guy is smarter, kinder, better in bed, and (as always) he has a much bigger d*ck.... *Sheldon Cooper voice* why are you STILL thinking about him during coitus? On page one-hunnit & three...?

description

This was definitely a treat though. All Romance lovers (who aren't weirdos like me) will love this one. Especially if you enjoy the sexy-times.

Bonus* P.S (since I'm really on a roll here with this keyboard rambling shit): Question for all Shameless (US Version) fans.... were you annoyed by how persistent Jimmy was throughout most of his and Fiona's relationship when she kept telling him to beat his feet in the other direction? If you combined his persistent personality with the swagger/sex appeal of your favorite fictional alpha male would that be your ideal romance hero? (my alpha is the SADLY lesser known Carlos Rivera so I invite you to pick your own)

If the answers yes, You'll DEFINITELY love this one. If the answers NO,....Congrats. you're weird just like me (I lost count of the times I've told Jimmy-Steve to FUCK OFF)... but I still say give it a try.

I was honored to be given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I have to start of by saying, I am a huge fan of Lilliana Anderson. I am so happy to have come upon her books on Amazon and have read every one. She definitely did not let me down with this one. As a young divorced woman, I was able to relate to Cora. Cora caught her husband cheating and is in the middle divorcing the only man she thought she would ever love. Her ex-husband is very manipulative and has not made things easy on her. To help relieve some stress her friend takes her out for a night of drinking and dancing which ends in, what is supposed to be, a one night stand. Cora is not a girl that normally does such a thing and later finds out it may not have been the best idea. The young, hot, super steamy man ends up being her boss's son...and her intern! The temptation of him becomes all
Cora can think about and the book gets even hotter. You'll have to read to find out if she gives in or lets the man who has rocked her world slip away.

It is a must read!

What can I say about Never Again, without giving away spoilers?!
I have been a long time reader of Lilliana's books and this one is one of my top favorites! I related to Cora alot and I felt she was a real life representation of an almost 30 year old. What can I say about Brandon....he is everything! I can't say much without giving away the goods. Let's just say, I was shocked ;)
I stayed up and finished this book in a day. I am wanting more!

Never Again is the newest release from Lilliana Anderson and boy is it a doozie.
This book has it all.
Great storyline, likeable characters and UNBELIEVABLY hot sexy time scenes.
Cora is recently separated from her douchbag cheating husband, and Bran is the son of Cora's boss and soon to be training under Cora but when they meet for the first time it's not actually the first time. Bran is the gorgeous green eyed best lay of Cora's life.
They met at a club and had one night of incredibly hot sex before Cora crept out before Bran woke up,leaving him with no way of knowing how to contact her.
Cora and Bran are destined to be together, Now Cora just needs to realize this.

"Don’t fight this, Cora. You and I, we're inevitable"

Lillianna Anderson has done it again with a great story.
Cora and Brandon (Bran) had me swooning a fighting off the hotness all thru the book.
this is an Older women younger man story,
Cora is a little scared about the fact that Bran is so young.
this story has just the right amount of angst, I love Cora so much.
"thanks for the memories"
I volunteered to read a copy of this book

Wowsers, my first experience of this Author and I definitely wasnt disappointed, and boy was it intense and hot.

Never Again, takes you on Cora and Bran's journey with a real rollercoaster ride, but smoking deep sexual chemistry between them, the only issue is we all have a past. Can we get past it being the question?

Definite must read, cant wait to pick something else by this author now has got me caught.

Just NO!!!!

I really dislike this book. I dislike everything about it.
Me hating this book has nothing to do with the age difference between the characters. That’s not it. I hate this book because everything in it is rubbish. But I have to say I hate Cora’s character the most. Though all the other characters is just as bad. The story per say is just a big cliche.
Cora for someone that works in law is dumb as a door. The things that happened between she and her husband or better that she let it happen is just idiotic. She is an idiot. The hero is no better. The author somehow in trying to make him an alpha male just made him pushy, kind of creep and very superficial.
I should’ve known this book was going to be bad when the author started using needlessly acronyms in the beginning of the book. The scenes between the hero and heroine is just so over the top, so melodramatic and so cheesy that makes hard to read through them. Most the time I’m just shaking my head. When authors gonna learn that a story needs much more than over the top sex scenes to make a book really good.
I can’t believe all the 4 and 5 stars this book have. There are so many well written romance books out there but this one is not one of them.
I love romance books but this one is just ridiculous.

Recommended by two book friends. I love older woman younger man reads. Bran can definitely teach other men how to treat a woman, so loving and caring. For such a young man he was very dominant and bossy I loved that about him. The hard time Cora faced with the breakdown of her marriage, seriously her ex is an immature asshole. She’s an amazing character, the break up made her stronger and I love her and Bran together

This was an interesting novel in several ways. Cora has been with Jack for 11 years and married for one year when everything comes crashing down. Her crazy friend, Olivia gets her to go out to live a little when she meets “green eyes,” who rocks her world. However, this is just the beginning of a lot of awkwardness, drama, and soul-searching, especially since he is about 10 years younger than she is. You know how you can’t help but look when you drive past a car accident? Never Again was somewhat like that.

So, first of all, I immediately sympathized and empathized with Cora because of her nasty, cheating husband. Not only did her personal/love life crash because of him, but it also resulted in professional consequences. So yes, she needed a night out with her best friend Olivia. Where she lost me was with her lying. Whether outright or lying by omission, I’m not a fan and I lose any affection for a character, real-person, etc. once lies are present.

Then there is Brandon. Young, gorgeous, charming, and obviously an expert in the bedroom. I loved that he made Cora feel so alive again, and I really tried to believe that there were real, true, emotional feelings between them. But it just didn’t feel right with me. No worries about hooking up with a younger, hot, world-rocking man after what had happened in her marriage, but as things progressed and as more information came to light about Brandon, I just didn’t feel like rooting them on.

Despite all of this, I was completely sucked into this novel and found it completely engaging (albeit like a car wreck, but still). I read along with this novel watching Cora dig a deeper and deeper grave, and was consumed with the plot and what would happen next. So, despite any moral conflicts, I can still recognize a page-turning plot when I see one!

Never Again isn’t at the top of my favorite reads list just because I didn’t trust the main characters, but this was still a great read. The hot, steamy scenes are off the charts (think Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Angelina and Brad), there is never-ending conflict keeping you on the edge of your seat, and there is also some wonderful scenes where Olivia embraces some serious life changes. If you can separate real-life from fiction and connect with these characters despite their faults, then this will be one hell of a read.

Love has no boundaries...including age

Oh Lilliana, what a perfect story you have written. NEVER AGAIN was simply sublime. Once again you have lead me down a winding road with twists and turns thrown in to simply change the direction. This is not just a love story, it is powerful, vulnerable, allows for second chances, encompasses everchanging emotions, shows strength and friendship.

Cora Knowles is a woman whose entire world has been turned upside down - the victim of a husband who just couldn't keep his pants on. She has lost everything and begins to rebuild her life, beginning with a trip to a nightclub with her bestie Olivia. From here her life will never be the same - a man with emerald green eyes is going to make sure of that.

Brandon Sharp meets Cora at a nightclu and together they share a truly hot and sexy one-night-stand. To his delight, and her horror, he bcomes Cora's new intern at the DPP. I loved Brandon, he was everything a woman could want in a man: virile, caring, attentive and oh so hot and alpha-like.

Their relationship is not an easy one, both are hiding secrets, from each other and those around them. Age becomes a large factor in their relationship - an older woman dating a much younger man. I thought this was brilliant, as you don't see many relationships with this sort of make-up. Lilliana made this story work because it is realistic, it's personal and because she shows that, with every relationship the are complications that do arise.

I must admit that i fell in love with Olivia, Cora best friend. She was, quite simple, a breath of fresh air. Nothing and no one was going to change her attitude to life - go out and enjoy and who cares the consequences.

Once again, this book was simply outstanding. From the very first page I was immersed in the characters and the storyline. The characters were totally believeable, even nasty and self-centred Jack. The flow of the story/plotline was perfect, very easy to read with no uncessary juping or switching of POVs.

This is yet another novel by Lilliana that I highly recommend and encourage others to read.

I know authors spend a lot of time getting a book synopsis just right but if it’s an author I like I don’t read them so I knew nothing going in and boy oh boy this author brought her A game.

Sexy older woman ✅
Sinful young man candy ✅
Hot and heavy sex ✅
Potty mouthed man ✅
Good story ✅

Cora has been sucker punched by her her husband Jack <——— ( prick face ) and is dragged kicking and screaming for a night out by her best friend Olivia who I loved. On the night out she meets Brandon who is just too sexy to be ignored. The first foreplay scene, fans self was sensual and scorching I’m surprised my kindle didn’t catch fire.

This is a story that completely captivated me from the start the only thing I didn’t like was Jack, he made me soooo angry. The relationship between them was really special and what starts as just sex grows into so much more.

Seeing Cora grow in strength and determination was really empowering, she may be down but she’s not out. Brandon aaah I fell so hard for this complicated young man who is so supportive but has a dominant side that comes out in the bedroom.

I loved this story so much and can’t wait to see what’s next from one of my favourite authors.

Must Read...5 STARS … “loving you is also like water” ...“Water was necessary to life. Living things simply couldn’t exist without it.”

Lilliana has done it again. This book got me hooked from the beginning. I couldn’t put the book down!! The storyline has an easy flow which makes it such an interesting and easy read. The familiar scenes in Melbourne really captivated my attention throughout the story.

The story begins in a way we can empathise with Cora’s immense bad luck. Starting off with her cheating husband holding an intervention order against her which impacts her career and her best friend (her attorney) previously sleeping with the magistrates husband!!!

Cora and Brans relationship then unravels into one with more complications. Where Brandon Sharp, Cora’s intern was the Adrian Sharp (the directors) son! Aghhhhh ...Their relationship deepens as the book unwinds and strong emotions are shared.... but when Jack arse comes in the picture, hell breaks loose...

Relationships, Career, Adversity, Pain, Love and Friendship are all discovered in this story....

At the end of the day when two are destined together ... will they always end up together???? Will it end up being a Never again ???

A big 5 STARs to Never Again! Thank you Lilliana 😊

I love May-December relationships especially when its younger man older woman. As with all Ms. Anderson books the setting is set in Australia(where the author is from) Cora has found out her marriage to Jack has all been a lie. The eleven years they have been together he cheated on her and she would have never found out till she walked in on him banging a woman in their marital bed. So begins this story where Cora who is a lawyer is devastated and heartbroken about the betrayal. Her best friend Olivia tells her in order to forget her hurt she needs to go to a bar and have revenge sex. So starts this story where Cora meets Brandon(the way he is describe in this book makes me want a Brandon ha ha)an adonis looking nineteen year old to her twenty-nine years. The way the scenes are written the first time both meet is exhilarating my heart was palpitating. As they start a steamy illicit affair that at first Cora tries to fight the attraction stating their ages, but Brandon kept knocking down her reasoning. As time progress in their relationship we begin to learn that this may just not be a physical thing but much more. I was fortunate to be given an ARC by the author.

My oh my!

This story started out as a slow burn for me, but, oh I enjoyed it.
Anderson continues to impress me with her writing. Her characters are incredible, they are written in ways we can relate to.
I fell in love with Brandon from the get. He was mature, exciting, he had depth.
Cora was very likable, sometimes she frustrated me with her insecurities, but they were believable things, especially for a woman in her situation.

The story overall was great, it had heat, drama. It was serious and humorous when it needed to be. The main characters and supporting characters were impeccable. Love love Olivia.
I loved even more that this story was about an older woman (though she wasn't ancient) and a younger man, don't see many of those stories around, actually this was my first and there was nothing in it I hated, well except for Jack.

I was so excited to have the opportunity to read "Never Again" as an ARC. As usual, Lilliana Anderson did NOT disappoint! The characters were enthralling and the story line kept me on edge. I fell in love with Cora and Bran and couldn't put the book down waiting to see how their love would unfold. I enjoyed the intricate details of the life around their legal careers as much as I enjoyed their intimate scenes. I also appreciated that it wasn't a cliff hanger or the beginning of a series. Although I have enjoyed Ms. Anderson's series, it was nice to get involved in a standalone book. Highly recommend and know will you enjoy it as much as I did.
