Taking refuge from Elundium's mob in the ruins of a great city, the peaceful Tunnelers are threatened by Nevian, the Master of Magic, and a crippled boy and a runaway archer's son find the fate of their people in their hands. Original.

Another entertaining novel in the Loremasters of Elundium series. This series is something of a hidden gem for me - I'd never heard of it before I came across the seven Elundium novels in a second-hand book store.
The story of Drib and his friends, now forced in somewhat of an exile in Crawdor, is a wonderful piece of story-telling. They are all great characters, and I find myself silently cheering whenever the defeat an obstacle. The villain of this later set of Elundium novels, Snatchpurse, is a brilliant foe. Such vileness, but we also see he how he feels he's the true hero of this story. That is the mark of a great villain.
I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys high fantasy.
