I am a story teller, a life coach, and sometimes a little crazy. I’m at an amazing time in my life where doors are opening, adventures are happening, and new friends are being made. Life is fun and I want to share that joy with the world. I’m Jettie and I am unapolgetically me.

“She’s scared.”

“Of what?”

“Everything, I have no idea, but I’m about to find out.”

It's been a while since I read a book I was so conflicted over...

Mental Health books are my jam. I LOVE them. If I'm reading a book and someone has something going on like that, it's usually insta-love between me and the book. There were parts of this book I loved. There were parts that were a little crazy for me. Then there was the ending. I'm hoping it's just me and lots of other people love the ending, but what was that? I didn't like the way it ended at all. So much that my 4-star rating got knocked down to a 3/3.5. The next book isn't about this couple, but I'm hoping since it's about the guy's brother, we'll get more Ollie and Jaq and I might get the closure I need....

Jaq has debilitating mental health issues. It never says exactly what is wrong with her, but being a nurse, I can think of a few things she has going on. Most of the reason for her illness is the way she was brought up and the things she saw and endured in her childhood. Oliver Benson, who is a scientist, gets an accidental phone call from her and it changes everything. He has to know this girl. Help this girl. Fix this girl. It's a need for him.
Within a few short weeks, Jaq had become dependent on me for her survival, and in a scientist’s sick kind of way, it made me want her even more.

Ollie and Jaq's relationship is different than any other I've read. I can't really put it into words. It was interesting to say the least. One thing I can say about this story is that it's completely intriguing. I wanted to keep reading to see what was going on. It's a messed up romance, but it's beautiful in it's own right. There are a lot of good things about this story and I feel as though it had a ton of potential for me but the last bit missed the mark for this reader. Still, I can see a lot of people loving this book and overlooking the things at the end I didn't care for.

If you're looking for an extremely unconventional romance that will pull you in like no other, pick this up. I know I'll be reading the next book in this series!

Oliver needs a purpose, everyone knows him to get easily bored especially when there is no challenges to entice him to stay. He is extremely smart and has the means to live a life worth living; he just hasn't found what that life should be. He receives a disturbing call from a girl who speaks as if she was drained of her will to live and thus begins his obsession...
"I’m going to teach her to be happy instead of afraid.”

Jaq is afraid...afraid of everything, forever trapped with the demons in her mind knowing no other way. There is only one thing she desires and it is the one thing that no one will willingly grant.
"You found a wild girl?"

Their circumstances are rare, something greater than them brought them together.... Call it fate, call it kismet, but whatever it is they can call it theirs.

Jaq with a Q is a book of fate, but not in the traditional sense of what you would expect. Troubled is too light of a word to label Jaq, she has some dark demons that she continuously fights with that may not be easy for some to read. It was rather unique the way the story unfolded, what started out as an obsession turned into so much more that Oliver expected. Primarily this story is told from Oliver's POV, his level of empathy is what guided his actions and his words. I loved the way he loved her, it was everything she needed but never knew.

As empathetic as I am, my bond with the two never really solidified. I was stuck in a state of intrigue as the story unfolded, wanting to be convinced with the dynamics of it all. Regardless I enjoyed the read, it was a great beginning to this new world and while their story may have ended there is still more to come as we focus on Silas and Grayce's story next.

I am not even sure how to start this review, for days I didn’t even rate this book since I was at a complete loss. Jaq with a Q is like nothing I have ever read before and I have read a lot of books that center around mental heath issues, but nothing like this.

The story begins with us meeting Jaq, she is a young girl who is basically being abandoned or left at a low income housing apartment. She is terrified to be left there, but her counselor/case manager/I am not sure what is leaving her alone. It is mentioned she will have a small check coming in and how much her rent will be, but it doesn’t matter since this girl is completely incapable of taking care of herself.

Ollie enters her life when she contacts him and asks him to kill her, but it’s the wrong number. Regardless, Ollie takes an immediate interest in her life. Honestly his interest is pretty extreme and I although it is never full stated he obviously has his own mental issues. His obsession leads to him full inserting himself into her life, although I do believe his intent is to help her.

So is this a love story, sure, but there is just such an extreme level of mental health issues that left me with an uneasy feeling. See I like to end my stories on a high or even with a peace. I had no peace when this one ended. Truthfully the ending is what really got to me, there really wasn’t one. It was just boom, mic drop, and I was like what, is that it. What happens with these two, they are a complete and utter mess!!!

So…here is my issues. This book is completely unique and it left me thinking about it for DAYS! I always say a book that stays with me is huge since I read about 5-7 books a week. However, it wasn’t all positive, a lot of my feelings were negative. I will say this Jettie never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and she isn’t afraid to go against the grain. If you are looking for a unique read, this is definitely it!

Side note, I think it’s important to mention that in my real life I work in a field that would be helping a girl like this. Seeing how things played out in the beginning just didn’t make sense to me and didn’t feel realistic. I think this also made me want more in the ending, so I would not be surprised if most of my friends loved this story, as this one just might be me.

4.5 Crazy in Love Stars*****

(ARC kindly provided by author in exchange for an honest review)

There's nothing better for me than a truly original story. You gotta love Jettie Woodruff for never following a recipe and for only going by what her heart tells her. Her stories are bold, unique and always highly entertaining. Jaq with a Q is going to my top favorites shelf.

Be bold, be daring and enter the world of crazy and beautiful...

 photo 98A49996-3B9B-4550-80A3-A49AF553A2AA_zpsqbjo0jwt.jpg

Jaq has been living in a mental institution for a few years , she feels safe there, with her doctors and all her medications. She's eighteen now and her social worker and the state have decided it's time for Jaq to go out into the real world and start living like any normal girl her age. No matter what Jaq wants or says, nothing can stop her departure from the center.

The problem is Jaq doesn't feel like she's normal, she's scared of everyone and everything, she can't survive on her own. After a few days, full of fear and feeling helpless , she decides that her best route would be to hire someone to end her life. She calls a phone number she got for a contract killer, Oliver because she's scared of trying to do it herself.

Oliver is completely bored with his life, after many careers and many jobs, he still has no clue what he wants to do with his life. Nothing and no one holds his attention. He does have a passion for science and reading but even those pleasures can't fill the void inside his heart. One day he receives a strange phone call from a girl that is desperate to die, she's looking for someone to kill her. From their conversation, Oliver gets a sense of determination. Unexplainably he finds himself desperate to know everything about this girl, and the reason as to why she's so unhinged. He wants to study her and ultimately help her.

Ollie puts his computers skills to work and finds her. He finds a very beautiful and strange girl, whose eyes hold desperation but also a secret. Something that sparks something inside him, something he can't explain but also can't walk away from.

 photo 31CB4660-E837-4125-9048-E3A7E3D1A580_zpsedv27c9j.jpg

Little by little, day by day, Ollie starts to win Jaq's trust. He's also designed a plan to help her. He is convinced that if he can take Jaq to his father's country house, and find his scientific journals, he can find a way to reduce her medication intake and guide her to the road of recovery, where she can finally live her life without fear and phobias.

As impossible as it may seem, what starts as a sort of scientific project, turns into a friendship, where lust finds its way, turning their relationship into something much more deep and meaningful. Even though Ollie had a life, a job, and normalcy, he was just as lonely and lost as Jaq. She gave him purpose, with all her crazy and all her pain. He found a connection unlike anything else in the world.

Can love be the cure? Would tender love and care be all Jaq needs to learn to live a life free of pain and fear?

I am so in love with this book! So raw, so different from anything else out there. I loved how I had no clue where each turn would take me. I felt desperate for more and hopeful from the beautiful love story. I felt their connection, their love, and their craziness as if it was my own. The ending left me a little confused but I know the author is just letting us simmer while she cooks something even more intense and I'm sure I'll be delighted with anything she serves me, because like I've said before, Jettie Woodruff writes the kind of books I want to read.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Type: Book 1 of Kismet series
POV: First Person - Male
Rating:

Oliver (Ollie) Benson was a brilliant man. As a quantum physicist, he approached everything in life with scientific method. That was until he got a phone call that changed everything.

Jaq Tarantino had a problem. Growing up in bad household had made her a socially awkward individual with major trust issue. She wanted to shut out the world, but he was determined to changed it.

What first attracted me to this book was the very vague but intriguing blurb. It sounds like a dark, suspenseful read. It didn’t exactly turned out to be that.

I feel responsible for you. You make me feel like I have a purpose in life. I know that sounds creepy and crazy, but it’s the truth.

Ollie was not your typical hero. Instead of a swoony alpha, he was more the geeky beta type which made him endearing in his own way. He was very attuned to her wants and needs and incredibly patient.

Jaq wasn’t like most girls her age. Jaq was like a delicate rose petal, a flower unable to bloom, afraid to blossom.

Jaq was also not your typical heroine. She had a debilitating issue that’s affecting her quality of life. I like that her character was consistent (to her illness) throughout the book, but I also wanted to see her evolved – which didn’t really happened.

“I don’t understand that. Nobody’s ever fought for me like this before. I don’t know how to take it.”

I love that the author chose two atypical characters. It could have been something unique but for me it didn’t work in the end. I wasn’t drawn to them. They don’t need to be alphas for me to care for them, but they need to have a certain spark.

There were no excitement and intrigue in the story. Well actually, there were a few suspenseful element added but they were never explored. What was the purpose of it being introduced when there was no resolution? I understand there will be another book, but readers have to be hooked with enough bait to keep us biting. There really wasn't much going on with the story.

"I want you. I’m always going to want you, and I am going to keep showing you, day after day after day. I’m going to show you until you know it, until you’re not afraid of that anymore.”

I’m assuming the whole point of the book is that anybody can fall in love and be brought together by some random circumstances (hence the series name, Kismet). Unfortunately the content just wasn’t enough for me.

Note: I do love Wallace and Silas.

Jaq is a troubled young adult that suffers from a myriad of mental disorders and has been institutionalized for many years. Now that Jaq is 18 yrs old, her caseworker is convinced it’s time for Jaq to live independently despite Jaq’s pleas to stay under constant supervision and medical care.

Oliver Benson is genius with a scientific mind but he’s become complacent due to lack of focus and minimal challenges. One day, Oliver’s mundane life irrevocably changes when he receives a random phone call from a female asking for his help. The request is highly suspect and actually illegal, but Jaq with a Q is determined to achieve her goal. From that moment, Oliver’s interest in peaked.

What ensues is Oliver’s obsession to help Jaq and he sees no bounds. After feeling numb for so long, Oliver has a purpose and Jaq is going to fulfill his mission. The problem is that Jaq has isolated herself inside her apartment and is afraid of almost everything. She is paranoid, anxious, scared, timid and naïve. Nevertheless, Oliver finds a way to pierce Jaq’s inner sanctum and slowly the unexpected happens.

Jettie’s books explore unconventional romances and seem to always include a close sibling connection. In this one, those elements are present. When I started this book, an air of mystery certainly surrounded the blurb but I didn’t expect the entire plot to be clouded as well. The romance is centered on two people who are fairly troubled in different ways. Jaq’s mental illness is developed and it’s blatantly obvious how her past shaped her mental state. However, with Oliver his initial motives and methods showed how lonely and unstable a person can be.

The idea that love conquers all is a stretch. While Jaq and Oliver’s love turned into a positive force, there is so much more still percolating under the surface. Her past and mental illness are serious issues and it seemed like it was just swept under the rug. Additionally, I was left with many questions based on the inclusion of repeated characters and plot elements that were left undeveloped. Finally, we have that ending! I love great twists, but such a turn still needs to be rooted in the plot and I shouldn’t have to read the second book in the duet to understand the first. The potential for mystery and truly compelling characters was great but it all fizzled for me.

***3.5 STARS***

This book had the potential to be something really great. Don't get me wrong...I did enjoy it, although there were times I felt it was dragging and I had wished something MORE was going to happen. Even having said that, once the book past the 38% mark, I had a hard time putting it down. One of the main things that I enjoyed about this read is that is was something different than the same old I have been getting lately. "Jaq with a Q" is the first book in the series and I will admit that I am very eager for the next read. I'm thinking we will get more of this couple, as well as a new couple...(the hero's brother and a woman) So, I am all in; but my only wish would be that the excitement factor picks up a bit more in the next read.

Oliver is a researcher/scientist whom becomes intrigued...or I should say obsessed with a phone call he receives one day. The woman who dials his number accidentally asks Oliver to do something very unconventional...When he investigates more about this woman named; Jaq...he becomes a point blank stalker. To the point he even gets the help from a neighborhood kid to plant camera's in Jaq's home. Oh, one other issue with our heroine...she has MAJOR mental health issues. She has anxiety like you wouldn't believe...in fact; she hasn't left her house in along time...Somewhere along the way though, Ollie decides that he can help her..So, he goes about it in a very different way...and even convinces his brother to give him a hand. How can he help her though if he has a bunch of issues of his own?? Will two people who are suffering from very bad emotional problems be able to enjoy each other and life? Or will they crash and burn..?

I guarantee this is a romance that you haven't experienced before..and don't go into this with the expectation that this is a healthy couple who grow into wonderful, cheerful members of society!!! This is not your normal romance. These two make their dysfunction work somehow for them, and once I became non-judgemental...I actually became quiet engrossed in their oddball way of living!!
All in all, it was an ok read. More refreshing because it was something just a little bit different and outside of the box!!

5 Connected Stars!

This story touched me on a deeper level, I loved the innocence wrapped in tragedy, the light vs dark, the push, the pull. This story is about healing, a connection beyond the physical sense.

This has to be my favorite from Jettie thus far. I'm a dark reader, and I prepared myself for the next level of crazy, because that's how she rolls. I never expected this story to be what it was. It was so much more. I'm going with a gray read, almost vanilla for me as a dark reader. There's one scene that average romance readers might find disturbing, and the age difference between the main characters could make some uncomfortable. I'm labeling this as gray romance. Not dark but not light either. With all that being said. I could not put this book down. This book touched my heart, it's going to stay with me for a long while. I'm still playing everything out in my head, in awe of it's beauty.

"I learned firsthand what it meant when the stars made love to the universe. Our lips met for the final time and forever started. By divine powers, by chance, by accident, by fluke, whatever the reason for our paths crossing, Jaq was my forever and I was hers."

As I said before, this book is nothing that I thought and everything I didn't know I needed. I fell in love right along with Ollie and Jaq. I don't think the cover for this book portrays the meaning. Yes, there's some steam, but the story touches on a different level. It's meaningful with a twist of uncertainty. It's deep yet has a bit of comedy included. It's everything rolled into a mind-blowing, heart felt, unique story.

"Jaq wasn’t complex at all. She was simple like the universe."

In all honesty I couldn't believe I devoured every word like it would be my last, I'm used to twisted, dark, sadistic books... There's something to be said about a book that has this much of a hold on me. I feel like I got the appetizer, I need the main course now. This was a full length novel, yet I wanted it to continue forever. I'm going to lose my dark title for this, but I wanted babies, and puppies, and fucking rainbows. <-- Don't tell anyone I said that. Jettie Woodruff knocked it out of the park with this one. She grabbed me from the start and didn't let go.

"It was so perfect. Like one of those weird life things being tossed in your path. That’s what Jaq was, an obstacle placed there for a reason . As an expert quantum physicist, I believed that."

Title: Jaq With a Q
Author: Jettie Woodruff
Series or Standalone: Series
POV: Dual
Characters: 3
Plot: 3.5
Scorching Level:3.5
HEA: Not telling

I love Jettie Woodruff. Suit & Slut are two of my favorite books of 2015 and I was very excited to read this book. The blurb certainly captured my attention.
We meet Jaq. Jaq is a young woman who has lived the last five years of her life in a mental hospital for juveniles. When it is time to get out, she is afraid of everything and she is certain that she won't make it living on her own. Jaq has many phobias and she fixates on her health, thinking that she has various diseases when that is far from the truth.
She makes one phonecall with one wish. She wants someone to end her life... She needs a hitman. What happens when she calls the wrong number?
Oliver is a scientist working a mundane job. When he receives an odd call from a young woman, he decides to change his life and hers. He wants to help Jaq but what he really wants is to make her his pet project. Can he save her from herself and achieve praise for himself at the same time?

The premise was very promising. The author had my attention until the 30% mark. After that, I somehow lost interest and that was because I couldn't connect with the characters. Jaq is a challenged young woman but she didn't capture me as a character and that has nothing to do with her mental state. Oliver's actions had me confused and at some point I stopped supporting his way of acting and thinking.
The book has quite a few twists and turns and plenty of spice. The storyline had potential, but somehow the book didn't work for me. Still, I recommend it if you want something different.
Will I read the next book? Not sure yet, but perhaps I will.

5.0 THIS.BOOK.FREAKED.ME.THE.FUCK.OUT.STARS!!!
“Well, I, I, I’m looking for someone to like, like get rid of someone.” I sputtered hot coffee from my lips, choking on her words and my drink . That’s not what I was expecting. Heroin or meth maybe, but not that . “You want to hire a hitman? You want to kill someone?”“Well, no. I want someone to kill me.”

HOLEE-SHIT THIS BOOK!!!
It freaked me the fuck out I might have a heart attack and my sanity was at stake while reading this!!! And OH MY Jettie Woodruff!!! You gave me chills and a rollercoaster of emotions with this. The story grabbed me from beginning 'til the end and for eff's sake my emotion was all over I just had a book hangover!
“It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring . He went to bed with a lump on his head, and didn’t get up in the morning . Didn’t get up in the morning, didn’t get up in the morning , didn’t get up in the morning.”

I have loved every Jettie Woodruff's book I read and to be real honest, I might have been invested in reading Jaq with A Q but I was afraid to go on further because right from the start I could sense some freaking crazy story ahead of me. But you know, because I am a glutton for punishment I put on my big girl panties and I dig the book like no other. And boy, I did not expect what I read. I thought I have it figured out but no, the author have written a UNIQUE story that delved deeper to every effing emotion.

Every line clearly shows it was written with great thought. Research is thorough and flawless and I did have done my "kinda" research while I was reading the book. It made me curious as I go on with my reading and I was in awe how the author delivered a beautiful story out of it. I was gasping and so damn shocked how the story turned out but more than that I was in awe to this beautiful inspiring story. Opposite poles with a connection. But that twist! Hell my jaw dropped and I was like "f*uck me! This is crazy".

Just a warning though, this book could really not be for everyone. This is some crazy f*cked up really but in a beautiful way. If you love plots like this with a bit of twisted ways and serious issues then this is for you. Because more than that, the moral of this story is the beauty of this story. For instance, me reading this???hmmm...quantum chemistry/mechanics speaking...I feel like I was looking for the particle in a 3D box...good thing I found "psi" so I found the particle in a box.

To Ms. Jettie Woodruff, you really did make a great job...Now I'm freaking the eff out 'coz I can't wait the mext installment. My!!!I really do not know what's in store for us this time.

This wasn’t an accident. I didn’t just happen to call the wrong number. It happened for a reason. To bring us here. Our forever.

4.5 Stars!

Jettie always manages to keep me on my toes with her books. I never know what to expect with her. Jaq with a Q is no exception. This is an interesting type of novel. It's not a dark or light novel; to me, it's a serious novel. It touches on some very heavy topics... mental illness, child rape, and sex slavery, but at the heart of the novel, it's a love story. It's a story about the healing power of unconditional love. And what a beautiful story it is!

"You're uniquely one of a kind, Jaq with a Q, and I love you."

Jaq has had a troubled life. She's scared of everything and tired of living. She's ready to end it all except she's too scared to do it herself. With a weird twist of fate, she ends up calling Oliver (Ollie) Benson, thinking he's a hit man. Ollie's bored in life and when Jaq enters his life with her crazy request, he sees a challenge; he wants to fix her, to save her. A wrong number turns both their world upside down. Can Ollie save Jaq or will they save each other?

I was hooked right away! How could I not be? I had to know her story. Who is Jaq and what is her story? In a way, I was like Ollie...curious as hell and intrigued by this scared girl. Jaq is a difficult character. She is damaged and mentally ill. I've got to give Ollie some major credit for his patience with her. Jaq is very persistent in her way of thinking and her habits; it was extremely frustrating to see her create her own nightmares and suffer so much. As Ollie helps Jaq, I really started to enjoy her character. It was nice to see her banter and laugh with Ollie. It was beautiful to watch her open up. Slowly, Jaq reveals her story and it BROKE my heart!! The things she and her mom endured were terrible.

"Jaq wasn't complex at all. She was simple like the universe."

Next there is Ollie. Now, he's also an interesting character. He's not crazy, but he does some drastic things to help Jaq.

"We're not stealing her. She's mine."

I really liked Ollie. His heart is good and all he wants to do is help Jaq. Even before he fell in love, his heart was in the right place. He wanted to help this scared girl live a happier life . Ollie doesn't understand the connection he feels with Jaq, but he embraces it. He falls hard and it's quite sweet. I love how he buys her off with animals. It's freaking adorable. Ollie realizes fancy drug can't fix Jaq; all she needs is someone to love her.

"She doesn't need drugs. She just needs someone to love her and I do."

It's beautiful to watch them fall in love, to watch Ollie break Jaq's barriers, and to watch Jaq open up. And oh does it have some STEAMY scenes! I also love the emphasis on the saying "in the eye of the beholder."

I love that quote because it really is in the eye of the beholder. A flaw to someone else is something beautiful to another. Jaq was flawed, but Ollie was drawn to her flaws. Sometimes, we can't explain the connection we have with another. It just is.

My only complaint is that early on the story slowed down and I was getting impatient waiting for them to meet, but once they did the chemistry was good and the story flowed nicely.

So the ending...I'm note sure what to think. The story leaves Ollie and Jaq in a good place but it feels incomplete. It sounds like the next story is Silas' and I'm super ecstatic for it. I really liked Silas. He was a great brother. Extremely supportive of Ollie's crazy impetuous ways. I hope in his story, I get a more complete ending for Ollie and Jaq. In the mean time, I'll be patiently waiting for the next book. Happy Reading!!

I am a very confused reviewer at this moment. I came across a book with the name “Jaq with a Q” by Jettie Woodruff and even though it was on short notice – I was so intrigued by the Blurb that I decided to request a review possibility for it.

The Blub, which actually honestly isn’t really one – captured my attention on so many levels that I would not even know where to start explaining myself.

And now after reading the book I am more confused than ever, because this story is so different from anything that I personally ever read that I have no idea how to rate it honestly.

It was not at all what I expected it to be – and I would be afraid, that if I tried to explain what I expected that involuntary would spoiler on the actual content.

I was captured by the characters in the same way that I was repelled by them. My moral compass was working overtime on so many levels that I was shaking my head thinking what am I reading here. But in the same moment I could have never stopped and not only because I wanted to know where the story would lead. I wanted to understand.

This book could be read as a standalone, because not even the cliffhanger at the end is a usual one. Because – yes there is a sort of cliffhanger but on the other hand you would survive if you decided to not read the next book. I actually wonder what the author has planned for the next book. You can guess the outline from the plot of this book.

And then there was this one moment when I thought – if Oliver is really doing THAT – no matter how logically he explains it – I will close this book and it will be a DNF. But it was like the author knew not to cross this invisible line. –intriguing-

And if it would be a physical book – I guess you would have found me sitting with the book in my hands staring at the cover and then flipping pages forward and backward. It would be my attempt to find out the moment when this story changed.

And I was asking myself and my moral compass if this is right or wrong and I still am not able to answer that question.

If I were just to state the facts in the way the blurb is written and count them – my conclusion would be that Oliver is taking advantage of Jaq on too many levels to count. But if I take a closer look I am suddenly not so sure anymore.

At what point does a romance really start – what does it look like when someone falls in love. Can there really only be the common way? Who is to decide what is appropriate and what not? Do I dare being the judge over this ?

I do not think so … So I will go with my guts on this one. I will give it 4 stars – not because I like the way this romance is developing – no far from it – it is a doubtful way in my eyes – but those 4 stars are for an intriguing plot that made my question my morals and give things a deeper consideration.

Just this morning I read a quote (it wasn’t mentioned who said it unfortunately) that somehow fits this situation

...“…some diseases are not about what is wrong with someone – they are about what happened to someone”

And I think I want to find out what will happen in the second book …

Well, well… where to start with this one…

Hmm… how about this is probably one of those books where I will have no rating because in all honesty, I don’t know how to… even after I’ve given it some more thoughts…

With what I’ve read of Jettie’s works, I know that I will get something I don’t expect. That, at least, is a given here. If I see it from that perspective, I suppose I could give it 5-stars. But the thing is, the whole time I was reading it, I seriously don’t know what to expect at every page turn and right to the end, and that is where my confusion starts.

Jaq and Oliver are 2 very fascinating characters, especially Jaq. She has so many issues; she’s hardly functioning, if that. Oliver has his own issues but it’s almost nothing compared to Jaq’s. Their paths crossed by accident and somehow Oliver felt a pull to her. And so he did everything within his power to be part of her world and find her healing.

With everything they have to deal with, it feels like there’s a lot happening and yet not. On the one hand, if there were more layers added to the story, I felt like it might have been too overpowering. On the other, I felt like I was overwhelmingly underwhelmed by the end... hmmm… I dunno… I really don’t know how I feel about this one…

So I guess I will just leave it at this – Jettie certainly knows how to play with your mind. Trust that she will give you something unexpected and completely left field of where you think you’re going. She doesn’t do boring. She doesn’t do conventional. You will be constantly asking questions. Whether you get the answers or not, whether it will leave you satisfied or not, whether things will make sense or not, that, that’ll entirely depend on you. Now whether I make sense here or not, I’m certain I don’t. O well…

The synopsis of this book is very vague but words like hitman, wanting to die and mental hospital immediately caught my interest and made me want to find out what this book was about.
This book was completely f**ked up in a good way. Lol
This is a story that you need to go blind in to. It definitely needs to be read to believe. Now I no why the synopsis was so vague.
The uniqueness of the story had my interest within the first couple of pages.
Every twist was unexpected. I never knew what was going to happen from start to finish. Every time I turned the page I was holding my breathe with anticipation.
I've got to give credit to the author as I don't no how she ever came up with a story like this, let alone pull it off so brilliantly.
This book was a page Turner.
I'd recommend this book to anyone but especially to people who want to read a unique masterpiece.

Review to come, but I just finished this book and it is crazy f""*ed up in a fabulous way!! The way the author writes how a person can be so deeply wounded and reveal the effects to that person as an adult, left me gasping! The author had to put in a TON of research to write this magnificent story the way she did. Oh!!! And, the twists in this story??? Oh, hell yes! Jettie left me literally open mouthed in shock (I looked like a fish) with her twists and turns. Cliffhanger, but oh how I love and hate cliffhangers. Lol. Give me more! I'm ready for book two!! A stunning romance with some dark twists and a fabulous outcome!!! Great work, Jettie Woodruff!!!!

I've read most of Jetties books and this has got to be favourite. I absolutely loved it.

This is a crazy read with plenty of twists and turns. The characters had my heart thumping & I found myself being sucked into their lives. I'm not going to say anything about the storyline. The blurbs a teaser so what are you waiting for? Jump right in :)

Jettie never fails to write an amazing read with characters that I can click with straight away and this is what she did with Jaq and Oliver. The feels and the emotions from this story... I want to delete this book from my memory and read it for the first time again and again.

Since reading my first Jetties book in 2013 she has become one of my favourite authors ever. I'm so looking forward to seeing what other gems she comes up with.

This was a unique story, so how do you help a girl who is "scared of everything"?

You find anyway possible when you feel responsible for helping a girl who dialled a wrong number, when looking for a hitman to kill herself, Jaq with a Q, but when Ollie Benson reaches out he finds his connection in life.

The way Ollie helped Jaq find her light so she would no longer be consumed by the darkness, was so great to read, the fact he helped her of his own free will and time. At first he wanted to help her from a study point, but she became more, she was a real person and he wanted to make her feel like a real person instead of a case. "She was simple like the universe".

Jaq consumed Ollie it was "In the eye of the beholder" she was his more.

I wasn't overly sure what I was gonna read when I started this, but it was a beautiful love story about over coming your fears and find love from the most unexpected places. Jaq has one of the most uncommon, yet intriguing up bringing that's rather harrowing, to be told something, yet feel another it was heartbreaking.

I love how Ollie and Jaq fell in love and connected, fate brought them together, but it meant to be, written in the stars, this unconventional beautiful love story will stay with me forever.

I received this book in return for my honest opinion and I'd highly recommend it.

Everything Jettie writes is unique. I was intrigued from the first few pages and the drama never let up.

Oliver is a scientist and with one mistaken phone call he becomes something else. Jaq is a young woman with a ton I mean ton of emotional baggage. She is a shut in only just left a mental institution. Through a lot of tender words and a whole lot of coaxing on Oliver's part they begin a very strange relationship.

The premise of this book is something I have never come close to reading before. The way Oliver's patience never waivers is astonishing. He manages to break through all of Jaq's walls and finally discovers what has caused all of her fears. His love helps to heal her and they learn to love. My only concern is the bubble they made for themselves. They created their own Utopia that no one else is really welcome in. I really cannot wait for the next installment to see how these two end up. Like I said this is one of the most unique stories I have ever had the pleasure to read. I loved it.

Jettie in her finest Form! !!!
Oliver Benson gets a call . From Jaq with a Q, and his life changes the moment he hears her voice.
They get a connection. Thats the only way to explain this beautiful gentle love story
It's a Connection !
It flows so smoothly , as it was ' Meant To Be' .
They were supposed to cross paths.
She was supposed to call him.
He was supposed to stalk her.
It pulls at your heart strings . Once you start , you won't be able to put it down. Trust me !
I loved the beautiful people, I loved how he coaxed her out of her shell and I loved how she built her farm :)
An oddball couple who are completely mismatched but connect perfectly together
They are Chocolate kisses wrapped in silver tin , in a bowl of colourful skittles !
Cannot wait for her next now !!!!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
“You want to hire a hitman? You want to kill someone?” “Well, no. I want someone to kill me.”
This line at the beginning of the book makes you think what the heck am I reading?! Jaq is an troubled girl who needs someone to help her manage her life. Oliver needs purpose in life instead of the boring day job. When one phone call changes it all, your thrown into the unknown and what might happened in the end. And wait until you meet Wallace! Highly recommend this book! I love all of Jettie's books but this one is by far my favorite. It is different than what she normally writes but it was still an emotional roller coaster with no certain end in sight!

My mind was going in different direction. I had different emotions and one of them was sadness and I also felt anxious.

Start off with Jaq, she's a scared of everything. She thinks she's dying and self diagnosis on any diseases she finds online, she does it until her mind makes her believe it. Then you have Ollie that has a normal life, but one phone call changes everything, he realize he has a purpose in life and that is to help Jaq heal.

This book is going to keep you on your toes. I did enjoyed it and I do recommend it.

Jaq with a Q by Jettie Woodruff
Jaq and Oliver
A LITTLE WEIRD BUT SATIFYING
4.5 STARS

This story is not really what you think it to be, at first. It's angsty and dark. It's heart wrenching and frightening. It's even pretty damn comical at times. Jettie sure can write the crazy characters to a tee. Makes ya wonder, is she maybe just a little coo coo herself? Bwahahaha!

Jaq is a total freak! She's got some major hang ups and she's not open for suggestion, AT ALL! She makes a phone call one day that will change her life forever. Little does she know that her pathetic little life is about to be uprooted and displaced. I love her antics and the way she handles her animals. Her heart is pure, but her head is in serious need of rearranging.

Oliver is one of those kinds of people that is in constant movement. He can't not be doing something. Even if it's just his brain doing the moving. He never seems to be content with where his life is going or what his next job will be. So, when a wrong number comes in and intrigues him, he can't help but follow up on the mysterious girl who needs a hitman!

The supporting character cast is pretty small. Oliver's brother Silas is pretty much it! He's a pretty funny manwhore that Oliver seems to need from time to time even though Silas seems pretty intent on shutting Oliver down at every turn. A few more, but nothing worth mentioning.

This book was weird in a good way. I found myself staying up late to finish it. Jaq and Oliver's characters are pretty commanding and made me drop just about everything to follow their lives. There was plenty of tension and a massive amount of angst right up until the end. I would say I'm looking forward to Grayce With an A Y but I've heard that Jettie isn't going to write that anymore. In fact I've heard she's not even going to write under the name Jettie Woodruff anymore. Hmm... not sure but from what I gather, she's happy about this and this is a good thing... We'll see! I'm not making any judgment calls just yet.

I was provided an ARC by this author in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this book by Jettie Woodruff. I went into reading this book blind. I had no idea what to expect because I was out of the loop on the upcoming story. My fault, not Ms. Woodruff’s.

This has to be my favorite book by Ms. Woodruff so far. The whole premise of the story was new and different for me. At first I thought, “Oh great, some nerd with OCD. Craptastic!”. But I was so wrong. This story was so much more than Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory. It goes deep. It’s thought provoking. I was completely sucked in as soon as I read the line “Well, no. I want someone to kill me.”

Oliver is a literal genius, a physicist who is so bored with life because he’s surrounded by stupid people. The fact that he is such a genius is what makes this story so awesome for me. His innate intelligence makes learning so easy for him and nothing is a real challenge until Jaq comes into his life. Oliver isn’t a skinny dweeb but keeps himself in good shape with working out. He’s also experienced in the ways of sex but that part of his life has been on hold. Because most women were boring. Oliver thinks about things like quantum physics and fractal theory. Things happen for a reason that we are too insignificant to understand.

Jaq is all kinds of messed up and Oliver is perplexed by this woman child who is an enigma, a puzzle to be solved. And solve it he does. With his patience and intelligence, and some puppies and kitties the mystery that is Jaq is unraveled. You wonder what you would do yourself to help someone in a situation like Jaq’s. There are some tense moments and sad discoveries but there is a happy outcome.

I am totally sucked into this series even though it’s basic romance. I usually prefer PNR or “that kinky stuff”. This story is not a cliffhanger but you know at the end there is more to come. Especially with Oliver's brother Silas. He's a hottie. I can’t wait for the next book that follows.

AHHH Jettie Woodruff is back with a mind-blowing twist that left me speechless. I have been reading Jettie for a long time and yes this book is a cliffhanger, but it wouldn’t be a true Jettie book if she gave you everything at one time. I love how she sucks me into a story and just when you think you know… you honestly have no idea.

This book deals with a lot of mental health issues and Jaq is one messed up girl. Just by reading the blurb alone you know you are in for a ride, but I never imagined the craziness of Jaq. Even though Jaq is a little crazy okay wait A LOT crazy I still loved her. She has a story to tell, but will she ever let anyone close enough to solve the puzzle?

Oliver gets a call that changes his whole life. One minute he is working the next sucked into the world of Jaq. It started out and one thing and led to something completely different. Oliver knows he can change Jaq, but how far will he have to go to fight for her sanity?

Jaq and Oliver are both very lovable characters. It takes a bit to get to know them both, but once you figure it out you will completely fall in love. Jettie kept me guessing quite a bit throughout the book and had some twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Oliver’s brother Silas is thrown into the mix, which sets up for the next book. Yes, there are questions unanswered, but I know Jettie will bring it in the next book. Loved this book and I sure can’t wait for more.

If there ever was an author that could reinvent herself with each book, it would be Jettie Woodruff.
This book is unlike her previous books (I find myself saying that with just about every book of hers) and she put her unique writing style to the test with this one I think. And she passed with flying colors.
She took a familiar trope and put her own Jettie twist to it. I wouldn't call this book dark at all, but there are darkish elements. I have to say I was guessing the whole book to see where she was going to take these two characters. Jaq, I adored. So broken, so fragile. I could have read 500 pages of what was going on in her head and probably still wanted more. then there is Ollie. He was a bit more difficult for me to warm up to. Call me a skeptic but I was waiting for the other show to drop, but he is nothing like Jettie's other book boyfriends. Their romance is a slow burn that was much needed. To have rushed anything with these two would not have been doing them justice. The way it was written was perfect for them. It made their relationship be what it was.
The one that really got me curious was Silas. I cannot wait for his story and to see if we get more Jaq and Ollie. I would love to think I have a clue where she is taking these characters but with Jettie, never bet the bank because she is one author that will take you places you have never been before.

Okay. Every time I read one of Jettie Woodruff's books I am left wondering how does she come up with this stuff??? After JWAQ I think I got it! From her disclaimer page, I was warned these charaters live in her mind...and what an Amazing Twisted F' ing mind it is. You will never be able to predict what is to come next in a jettie woodruff novel, every one of her books is different and unique but what you can expect is a well written, accurately researched full story that will leave you wondering what actual F... you just read!!!
Jaq with a q is not you regular love story,no, no, no, the characters Oliver and Jaq are messy, broken and just plain old nutso, but they work.
I just finished this book so I don't want to give any spoilers, but definitely give JWAQ a READ you won't be DISAPPOINTED!!!I

Received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

When I read Suit and Slut I thought that was f****d up. After I read this I am calling this one a cluster f**k. But in a very good way. I love a book where you just have to put it down for a minute and just scream out what the hell just happened. It was a definite turn pager, left me wanting more of Jaq and Oliver.

I would not call this a lovey dovey type of romance, no that's not Jettie Woodruff's style. She is the nitty gritty type of author that keeps you on your toes. You think you know what is going to happen it she always has that ringer that leaves you sitting in shock.

If you loved the Twin Duo series, you will love this book.

Jettie Woodruff is back with a new twisted your mind book. Jaq with A Q will blow your mind with things only Jettie can write. She put a whole new twist on a relationships. Just when you think you have it figured out, you will not. She twist you up and make you think one way and then surprise you with each turn of the page. Get ready to set on the edge of your seat because Jaq With A Q is whole different kind of book. You have never read anything like this before. If you loved Suit and Slut then grab this book. Look out New York best seller and USA Today because Jaq is coming May 3rd.
