An engrossing read from start to finish. Island of the Assassin challenges the readers assumptions about the war on terror, revenge, and religion, all the while exploring the complexities of conscience within each of us. Peter Quince is a first-rate protagonist that I hope to see in future novels. The book ends with unexpectedly and almost jarringly, only compounding the challenging nature of the material herein. There is also levity brought by a play within the book based on a work of architectural interest called The 13th Floor.

I just finished Island of the Assassin by Joseph Roccasalvo and it was such an engaging, thought-provoking read from start to finish. The mix of suspense and depth kept me hooked all the way through. I’m from Heidelberg, Germany, and since I heard there’s a book fair in Frankfurt this October, I’m wondering, Joseph, will I get to see your book displayed there? Hope I can!

A Goodreads win

Island of the Assassin by Joseph Roccasalvo is about a author & priest Peter Quince who becomes friends with a covert CIA killer.
I found it an enjoyable read which provoked a lot of thought on various topics brought up. Initially I found reading this required a lot of attention & concentration, this diminished as I became accustomed to the wordy writing style. This is well worth reading.
