"This book -- the history of the Jews from one small Lithuanian town during World War II -- becomes a tiny but valuable part of the great tapestry being woven by survivors chronicling the fate of the Jewish people in the cauldron of Nazi-controlled Europe." -- Washington Jewish Week
riva lozansky, the survivor who narrates this book, is my great grandfather’s cousin. i read this and other similar books recently to get more information on my dad’s family to help reconnect with relatives we lost contact with. i highly recommend it if you are looking for a real life account of what the shoah was like in lithuania.
There is so much we still don't know about the Holocaust, especially from the Baltic states. Memoirs and testimonies like this are so important. Riva did a wonderful service to the memory of this town and all those who suffered. Great collection of pictures too.
