Death Chasers MC #2

Property of Drex #2

Rate this book
*This is the conclusion of Drex and Eve's story, but there will be other books in the series featuring other couples.*

What’so the most selfless thing you’ve ever done? What price tag would you put on the ability to save the ones you love?

They say the worst decisions are made by the desperate or the fools. I was desperate enough to make a foolish decision to save my family. The cost? Me.

They may be a motorcycle club, but in all honesty they’re really an elite unit of criminals who just happen to drive motorcycles. They’re a business. An organization. A fully functioning army…

What I’ve learned? They work in the gray area; life and death is real; and everyone wants everyone dead. Okay, so maybe that’s dramatic… No. No it’s not. It’s legit.

I prepared for the worst, fully anticipating hating my new life. Turns out, I finally found out where I belonged. Oh, and I discovered I’m a little twisted or crazy. Maybe both.

Drex Caine, the man without a conscience, didn’t ruin me the way I thought he would. Instead, he made me feel like I was living instead of just waiting to live. And I can never go back to the way things used to be.

*Graphic language
*Sexual Content
*Dark humor
*NO cliffhanger in this one
*Book one is free and must be read first.

4.5 Watch the Dominoes Fall, Stars

It’s all a row of dominos, remove one, and they can’t all fall. Everything was pieced together to bring her to me.

********May Contain Spoilers*******

It starts where the first one ends, Drex wakes up after being knocked out. He believes he has to do what's right for Eve by setting her free. She is not 100% free as he puts men on her to keep tabs, he has his 'stamp' tattooed on her shoulder and threatens to kill anyone who goes near her. But is she safer now she is not in his world.

Eve is taken, tied up and given no drink or food for 4 days in an effort for the enemy to extract information. Although a little morbid on my part, I found her hallucinations really funny and I am pretty positive the author was going for funny as its done with the same sarcastic flare thats throughout the book.

Something drops and rolls around on the ground, but I can’t lift my head enough to see what it is other than a blur of motion from my peripheral. Is that a ball? Fetch, Fido! Fido… B I N G O and Bingo was his—

The push and pull in this one is real as Drex continues to try and keep Eve safe and out of club business. If he can keep her safe with him or should he or could he send her away again. I usually HATE to much push and pull but in this its not too bad because it's a fast paced read.

What I did miss was the amount of insanely hot scenes from the first book, I know I asked for more of the MC side but a balance of both would have been better *lol* (don't ask for much, do I?)
The sex scenes that are in it are just as hot and still hold that fierce bond between Drex and Eve that seems to be of the charts!!

Joking aside this book has a more serious feel with everyone investing so much into figuring out who is with them and who is trying to bring them down. I liked all the characters and reading all the side stories, I am interested to see where the author is going to take this series.

WOW. Fabulous read.

I'll be honest and admit that this and the previous book 'Property of Drex' are the first books I've read by this author and I can't get over just how much I've enjoyed them.
I don't give 5* often or easily but I enjoyed this book so much it just wouldn't be fair to give anything less.
This book picks up straight after the cliffhanger of the previous one, Drex is in hospital and suffering from concussion and Eve is with Drake, who's not answering his phone.
I'm not going to say anything about the story because I'd hate to inadvertently spoil it for you but I loved it, the story itself held me, it's a hot read with a tall tattooed biker and his equally hot and sexy brothers.
Drex is fabulous, Eve discovers the woman she's meant to be and there's an amazing collection of secondary characters including Axle, Drake, Rush, Dash plus Snake and Sarah.
I'm still actually surprised by how much I loved this book and I can't wait for 'Axle's Brand' the third book in this series.

SO MUCH BETTER, but still only 3 stars.

This is a little more like it. The heroine gets a backbone, the hero falls in love (although he's not only the the dumbest MC hero ever, but the worst alpha protector), some great secondary characters emerge I am very afraid won't get their own story, and a plot with Grand Canyon size holes emerges.

1) The H's MC gang has a mole, but unless I really missed something the exact guy was never exposed despite the fact that heroine is kidnapped about a hundred times, things are blown up and the H disses his father to the extent that his MC gang peeps ditch their cuts.

NOT THE CUTS!!!!!!
The CHAOS gang is having an MC conniption as we speak.

The heroine thinks up a new name of The Reapers which in my mind kicks Death Chasers in the heynie, but no, the guys don't like it.

2. The gang has a mole that they find out about, but I guess I missed his outing.

3. The heroine is kidnapped, almost shot, almost blown up then rescued.

4. The heroine is rescued by...Nope, not the hero, but from an unexpected and fun source that has more intelligence and charm than the rest of the gang except for ...

5. Drake the tattoo artist who has better banter with the heroine than the H.

6. The hero who distances himself from the heroine time and time again to "protect" wherein she's kidnapped, tortured, almost killed a couple of times.

Anyhoo, there are double-crosses from inside the MC gang, outside the gang, and between various family members. In addition, Owens develops some of the minor characters which ended up being about a thousand times more enjoyable (Sarah and Drake) than the main characters, but I am unsure what she may do with them.

An okay series she should combine in one book. Book 2 is SO much better.

Beware of Spoilers!

Star Ratings:
Heroine (Eve): 5/5
Hero (Drex): 5/5
Plot: 4/5
Grovel: shows rather than tells
Cheating: none
HEA: yes but no epilogue due to continuing series
Triggers: none

Average score: 5/5

Best Lines: “He’s a fucked-up Romeo, and that dark, twisted side of me I didn’t know existed loves him all the more for it.”

Worst Lines: “You can’t thwart everyone at once, Drex.” – because who says “thwart” nowaday?!

Personal Review:
This was the perfect ending to Drex and Eve’s love story. I loved that Eve became so strong-willed and that Drex allowed himself to become more vulnerable.

Brilliant series so far!

Random Ramblings:
•Pleasantly surprised with Eve’s development as she was no pushover in this book!
•I want to read more about Sarah
•I have to say, I did get confused with all the “feds” talk

Overall Feeling:
Can’t wait for the next book!

The beginning was slow and I was tempted to DNF it, but I kept reading and I couldn't be happier 🤩🤩🤩

Eve is a good girl who sell herself to save her family from debts and bankruptcy.
She ends up with the VP of one of the most feared MC: Drex Caine.

Eve is totally different from all the girls Drex has always been with. She drives him crazy with her compliance.
But as soon as things become complicated, and their feelings start to grown, they gonna learn to trust each other to face all the enemies ready to kill them.

The story is full of action and secrets to uncover: it definitely keep your attention on each word.

Drex & Eve' chemestry is so damn good 🔥
I loved how much possesive and protective Drex was 😍😍 But what I loved more was the fact that Eve, especially in the second book, showed her true self: the one of woman strong willed, who knows what she wants and doesn’t cower in front of danger!!

Another aspect i liked was the brothership and love between the members of the MC 😍😍

Definitely worth reading it!

More of Drex... hell yes! More twist and turns than any roller coaster I've been on! And one of the biggest kick ass shockers... I'm putting as a spoiler just to be safe but those who have read this... get it! Wasn't that the shit? Eve, once again, I loved her and wow, she became rough and tough and I loved every minute of it!

3.5 stars. I didn't like this one quite as much as the first. The MCs were pretty much separated for the first half of the book. Once they got back together, they were solid. I'm really looking forward to Axel's story.

MC biker romance.
Sensational conclusion to Eve and Drex's story. Plenty of action of all types...sexy, smutty and angsty...kidnappings galore...
Seriously loving this series!!!
I plan to read the rest of the books in this series at a later date.

Hooked, addicted, or whatever you want to call it. Hands down this is the best MC series I've read to date. I am completely in LOVE with Drex. The sub characters are so vivid in this story and they play significant parts that fit seamlessly. Also, I actually really like the heroine. Usually heroines get on my nerves so bad I'm ready to break or throw something.

SARAH is one BAD Heifer! Wish I had her as a bestie because the girl is a straight trip! I love it. The author makes Sarah's character sexy as hell in the baddest way.

Hope the next book is out already.

Liked it but mostly because dress was such a alpha possessive jealous men, those are my favorite. This one falls in the realm of cheestastically ridiculous, but in a good way! My problem is with repetitive dialog (trust issues) and lack of action that really holds my attention, but overall it was a good book. ...

I don't know what it is about Property of Drex #2 but this book just does it for me! Maybe its the action and suspense with bad men wearing leather with cockier attitudes. But whatever it is, I'm hooked, stoked for the next read! I wished there would have been more interaction and dialog with Eve's uncle, but ehhh it is what is! Plus I would have like to seen more of the estrangement between Pops and Drex! Nothing like a little in house war to get the ole ticker pumping!

Property of Drex #2 was pretty much of the same caliber as Property of Drex #1 and that caliber was, ya know….

description

Book 2 picks right up where Book 1 left off and for the next 250+ pages, we continue to get a lot of drama, several kidnappings and a plot that had me questioning a lot of things but not with enough interest to go back and re-read to figure it out.

I think there could be a lot of criticisms toward this book in terms of plot, character development, dialog, etc. etc. etc. but I’m bypassing all of that because I was never expecting literary gold when I downloaded book 1 & 2 on my kindle. I specifically downloaded this book because it was a smutty MC-club read that was FREE with KU.

And I enjoyed it for exactly what it was.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as book 1. Drex got too soft for me and Eve got too...easy lol

It annoyed me when he let her go because he wanted her to have a boring "normal" life. He couldn't picture her living the MC lifestyle. Um, my dude, you tattooed your name on her body (Property of Drex) LOL It's a little too late to have a case of conscience. Then she practically begs him to take her back. Girl, no, have some pride and stop petting my peeves.

Needless to say, I didn't like how the dynamic between them changed. She was the one trying to get back into the MC after getting kicked out. Sad. I also didn't find the club drama/business interesting. I did, however, find Sarah intriguing. She turned out to be a kickass secondary character. Axle's book I might read because it seems like he has a lot of issues hahah I'm weak for a broody hero with a dark past and the scary scars to go with it.

It was okay. A little boring, but okay.

2.5 stars. This is for Drex 1 & 2. Book 1 - stagnated in the middle. Book 2 - action rollercoaster. Separation was stupid and too long. Both - not much intimacy nor relationship development. Dull boring sex. Nice treatment of women for a MC. Well done club internal power struggle. Entertaining corruption storyline but was rushed at end of Book 2.

Gotta say I loved this one just as much as the last. 1/2 star loss for pushing away too much. Men are dumb shits sometimes! But at least he kept it in his pants! I really loved Drex by the end though. He is so over the moon for Eve it is cute! Love how he stood strong f for her.

I love Sarah and feel horrible for her and Snake. I wish they would talk it out.

Basically same spoilers as last book.

My Review:

This was the conclusion to Drex and Eve's story and I really loved it more than the first book. I had such a solid enjoyment and most of it was because of the plot aspects to this story. Now there is a LOT of inner relationship angst and drama between these two. I just wanted to shake some sense into them, these two get so so stubborn about their relationship and it could be frustrating at times. But I do think there is more heart and emotional depth in this one than what we saw in the first book. I really liked seeing how things ended up for these two, they had a solid ending and HEA that definitely is heart melting.

5 Drex and Eve Stars.

Love this book!
The first book ended on a cliffhanger and this one completes their story. Drex is a dark, brooding hero that keeps his cards close to his chest but he is loyal to his girl & his friends. I really liked his character. It was interesting to see the different layers to him too. Eve was equally fascinating going from naive/unsure to confident but always balanced with strength and a sweetness that was refreshing. You feel like you want to be friends with her even if she is one of the unluckiest heroines I have ever read about.

Great plot and fabulous secondary characters.
Loved it!

HEA? Yes
Cheating? No.

Good conclusion to the story. The h continued to get on my nerves a bit, but I enjoyed the characters overall. There was good chemistry. There were darker and gritty aspects of this book. The trope of “I’m too bad for her so I must let her go” is a big theme here. Overall it was entertaining and well-written. See my review of the previous book for more details. I want Sarah’s HEA!

My Thoughts
An action packed end. I liked how Eve kind of embraced her fate and took action. Eve manges to end up in 3 tricky situations. I'm so curious about Sarah and Snake/Jude. I feel like it's gonna be mega angsty. I hope he stays celibate.
A great series to ease yourself into the MC world.

****5+ Stars****

My obsession with this author is very unhealthy. She is just an out of this world genius when it comes to her writing. POD #2 picks up right where the 1st book leaves you hanging. It takes on a roller coaster ride that will leave you with one hell of an adrenaline rush. Eve shows just how strong she really is mentally in this one and proves just how bad ass she can be. And Drex.....Drex...Drex that man is just a walking, talking, sexy, hard core bad boy. If you haven't read MC before, this series is a great start to get you into this genre!!!

She’s a good girl. And I’m the devil who stole her from grace.

Eve continues to find herself kidnapped numerous times by people that both want to kill her and rape her. Drex continues to do a piss poor job of keeping her safe. The club is at risk from the feds, fighting against Ben & Benny's MC, trying to find a mole in their midst, fighting against Drex's dad, Herrin, and a bunch of other stuff. This is also supposed to be the end of Drex and Eve's story, but the book ends with a whole lot of unanswered questions and unresolved issues.

This one is really weird because even though it's so predictable and cookie cutter, I still couldn't stop reading it. Stayed up way past my bedtime because I was too engrossed with the story. I'm not sure what to make of that. Personally, I had a hard time understanding all the bad guys. When there are so many characters in a book, I get confused. There were just too many names for me to keep up with. Others might not have that issue, but I do.

I'm still giving it a 4 because there's obviously something about it that kept me entertained.
