Eh.
This book is more of a chronology of Fields' movies than it is a biography of the man. I don't know any more about his personal life than I did before I read the book.
The book is a good resource for anyone interested in his filmography, however. There's a handy index of all his films in the back of the book.

AS a whole the pyramid illustrated history of the movies are much better than one might expect, this one stands out as even better than most.
