This book is a big waste of time. It's still spouting long disproven 'facts' like the great wall of China being the only man made structure visible from space. Not only is the Great Wall not visible from space (except maybe low earth orbit and only if you have pretty much super vision) but there are other man made structures that ARE visible from space, like the greenhouse fields in Spain, and cities at night.
Also, "it is because of these glowing fish that the deepest part of the ocean is called the twilight zone." No, the deepest part of the ocean is not called the twilight zone. In fact, the twilight zone is right up near the surface, second only to the sunlight zone. After the twilight zone (so named for the small amount of light that can still reach to that level) you have the midnight zone, then the abyssal zone and then the hadal zone. I don't think anyone has considered the twilight zone to be anywhere near the deepest part of the ocean, and it certainly wasn't named after the presence of bio-luminescent creatures.
Utterly disappointed in the quality of the information here. The writing is awkwardly done too. It's like they grabbed a whole bunch of random 'facts', did no fact checking at all, and thought "That sounds about right, bung it in there." "Shall we try to craft some decent sentences with them?" "Nah, just however, pfft, "words" amiright?"
So not only was it erroneous, it was displeasing to read.
