Book 1 in a young adult dystopian romance. This is a mini-series, in short reads, please read books in order.
Aria Grace has always been a rebel. Well… maybe more like a silent rebel. Okay, okay, perhaps that’s not really a thing. But still, she’s totally a rebel in her head. Until she meets gorgeous Wisdom and lets the rebel in her out to play. Then her world shatters, leaving Aria’s mind spinning and her heart aching. Maybe it was only a dream. A beautiful, fleeting dream. So fleeting, that if she blinked, she could fool herself into thinking it never happened. That he never happened. But Aria knows better. Wisdom was real. He had to be... right? Soon, Aria finds herself on the run, her life in danger, with no idea who she can trust. Wishing with all her heart she could just go back to dreaming.

C.B. Stone is sometimes called author, writer, or purveyor of stories. One might even dub her a yarn spinner, if you will. It’s very possible she might be considered just a little left of normal by most, but she’s cool with that. Really, she’s too busy avoiding normal to care.
On any given day, you might find Stone pounding away at a keyboard in sunny Florida, contemplating waves, contemplating life, and dreaming up more exciting stories to share with readers. Except Sunday’s of course. Sunday’s are God’s day, so you’ll often find her making her best “joyful noise” with her local church praise team.
When not pounding poor fingers to bloody nuggets and reinventing the definition of eye strain, C.B. Stone enjoys living it up, doing the family thing, the kid thing, and the friend thing. And in her downtime, reading the minds of fans.
I received a copy of this in exchange for a review. Thanks to the author for the opportunity! Overall I enjoyed this quite a bit, but I wish a few things had been expanded upon.
Pros
There’s some great sensory detail and descriptions throughout this, notably at the beginning. The scene is really set and I can picture this dive bar very well. There were also several descriptions I thought were very creative twists on clichés. My personal favorite was:
The timbre of his own voice is like dark chocolate, smooth and rich with a bite to it. Maybe a hint of salt.
I mean, comparing someone’s voice to velvet or chocolate has become overused in recent years, but I thought this spin on it was quite clever.
I quite enjoyed the overall plot to this, and I’m eager to see where this goes! The ending was very exciting and revealed several elements that have me curious about the sequel.
Cons
As mentioned before, I wish several things had been expanded upon. Several times in the beginning Aria says she and Wisdom have a connection or that they "talked"—but we never really see that. I would have liked to see their actual conversations and seen that connection outside of the mutual attraction.
Aria also seems to consider herself a rebel, but it’s never really said what she is rebelling against. I know vert little about her as a character, though she reportedly "tells Wisdom [her] story."
I also don’t really understand why this story was split apart so much. I haven’t read the sequel, but I would think it could have easily been combined to make one cohesive novel instead of several novellas. Also, this was broken into several short chapters that I feel disrupted the overall flow.
In Conclusion
Quick exciting read, and I’d like to see where the story goes!
Almost 2.5 stars but not quite. It fell just a bit shy of the middle of the line. The first 24% of the book is so rushed and packed with fluff and filler that I was never able to properly enjoy it. We get these two characters, Aria (love that name) and Wisdom who meet in a club/bar and fall in insta love. We get a crazy twenty-four hours of them getting to know each other that suddenly leads to an engagement (THEY JUST MET!!!). Then things get weird...
I got no feel for the characters. I got a lot of we talked, we kissed, we flirted, we talked some more but we dont get any of the conversations. I get a quarter of the way through the book and I know next to nothing about the world they live in (which must be strange based on what happens) or the characters themselves. Which made the feeling they have for each other seem fake.
It does get better after than but when I finished I still had so many questions. I got a bit a better feel for the characters but still have no clue what is going on. Lots of references to handlers, powers, us, they, etc but no explanation. I don't mind leaving some mystery to be later revealed but I do not feel like my money is worth the risk to buy the next volume.
The writing is alright. Nothing special but it is clean and clear, even though it did lack description for the important stuff.
This is short story, or the first short installment of a mini series. I was under the impression it was a short novel when I got it off the Kindle store because of the number of pages, but it turned out a good third of that just publicity things (sneak peaks and pictures of other books).
The story itself is not so bad. It has a good idea and gives the impression that it may turn out to be alright. It doesn't manage to fully convince you of that though. The characters fail to ever obtain any depth that makes you feel invested in their lives and their interactions have a bit of a superficial feel. Throughout the entirety of the story (the whole series) this could be something that changes, but this story gave no indication that that is the case.
Also, the beginning structure was very annoying. The story started a new chapter every other page despite that there was no new chapter to the story. The next chapter just picked up in what could have been the next line of the previous chapter. It even happened in the middle of conversation. This works when you switch POVs, as it did later on the story, but when you keep the same perspective it just seems like a bad formatting example from Writing 101.
I think this story has some potential, but I would not recommend it.
The writing deserves four stars, but considering how much I dislike cliffhangers, that lowers my overall rating to three stars. Just about the time I was really invested in the characters, the story ends. Because I am invested in the characters, I will read the next installment (it appears there will be five installments). I want to know for whom Jameson/Wisdom works, and I want to know what Aria learns about herself.
The premise is enticing, and, if you don't mind cliffhangers, and you're a fan of this type of story, I'd recommend you give it a read. If you hate cliffhangers, I'd recommend you wait until the final book in the serial is released.
I received a copy of this book from Instafreebie with no obligation for a review. I am always looking for good dystopian fiction. This one didn't disappoint, other than it is a series of short books. So fare this one ends in a cliff hanger. I am moving on to the next one right away. Good writing, good characters and you will go through a gamete of emotions in a few short chapters. Clean fiction, no swearing or sexual content. Load of suspense. I give it four stars and can recommend for teens and up.
Nearly Half of the content is made up of sneak peeks
The actual story you presumably want to read only takes up about 60%. So just know that going in.
There are some great moments of description in this. But it feels very bland and paint-by-numbers. There's no character building or world building really, either.
C B Stone uses Blink as the base for her series of a shadowy and futuristic world where the government seems to pretty much run everything. Aria, a young adult, is drawn into this world that she is unfamiliar with finding only mystery and death and a need to run.
I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. 40% of the book is previews of other books the author has written. I think this book was more of a short story than a book. Not much information is given about the Gov and makes me wonder what is going on there. Aria and Wisdom have a connection, but is it a dream? Leaves a lot of questions unanswered.
Wow what an amazing book. Immediately I was pulled into arias world. This book is imaginative and creative. I loved delving into this series and cannot wait to read the next one.
Not available on kindle unlimited. Part 6 of I think just 6 but never know for sure with writers sometimes. Also not sure of the genre, sorta dystopian sorta not, etcetera, just read the series. Not hard to figure out which books, Blink 1 2 3 4 5 6 {Rebel Minds}. Serialized type stories. Some got perma free, some from free book sites, some as ARCs.
Dates off again, forgot to review on goodreads back when, remember now but having to play catch up on a few as see them.
C.B. Stone has quickly become one of my fav authors. Every book just entraps you in the story and leaves you waiting for the next installment. Blink: 1 was no different.
It starts out with Aria in some bar playing the piano and singing her heart out when a guy walks in and captures her attention. She doesn't know why but she is drawn to him. On a break she lets him buy her a drink then they are completely lost. They leave the bar and travel to the mountains, have a wonderful night where Wisdom proposes. Yes, you read that right. He proposes the very first day they know each other. Then there's an earthquake and Wisdom is taken down with the cliff that just broke off the land.
Oh wait, nope, it was just a dream. Or was it? Her sister is convinced it was a dream since Aria was knocked over the head with a beer bottle but Aria isn't so sure. Once she's out of the hospital she still cant get him off her mind. Nothing she does can take her thoughts off of Wisdom.
One morning she goes into a bakery she's never even heard of before and there he is. Only he says his name is Jameson. Who is this guy, why does he look exactly like Wisdom? And most importantly why is she drawn to him like she was to Wisdom, and why is electricity flying every time they touch? Though they can't explain it they are drawn to each other. Neither of them want to be might I add. Yet, they some how manage to meet up a lot and start up a friendship. That is until he kisses her, then takes off running.
When Aria made it home that night, she found her sister laying in a pool of blood. She was dead and Aria knows Jameson had something to do with it. She knows he is working for the Gov but doesn't know doing what and why her sister was targeted.
Hopefully in the next installment we find out. Hopefully soon:) ? I can see now I'm going to be addicted to this one also. Thank you C.B. Stone for keeping me up last night ;)
I received a complimentary copy of this book via the author in exchange for and honest review. These thoughts and opinions are all mine.

This is book 1 of a post apocalyptic, sci fi romance mini-series with mind reading, genetic engineering, and telekinesis. All books should be read in order. Some may have cliffhanger endings.
Total Score: 4
Summary:
This book opened with Aria, a musician, who meets Wisdom and feel madly in love with him the same evening. Unfortunately, no one remembers ever meeting him or seeing them together. Even herb own sister Sierra doubting her. Things get more confusing when Aria meets Jameson who is the spitting image of Wisdom.
Now this just confused me until Jameson met with Rox, his handler and it became apparent that Sierra and Aria had secrets that his people were willing to go to any lengths to obtain considering they had already disposed of one person. This is only the first installment of an ongoing story that I will be following to uncover more of the secrets that they were each keeping.
Aria meets the man of her dreams bit nothing lasts forever. Wisdom, Aria and Sierra all have a secret that is dangerous. There's something special about Aria and the Gov will stop at nothing to get her. Really short story, quick read. It keeps you interested the whole time. Good read.
This started off like any other teen romance, then things get weird! We’re led into a world of government conspiracies and psychic powers, but then something even stranger happens... the story ends! I do hope that, eventually, this series is transformed into one single book as it has potential, but by breaking it down into 70 page segments it really hinders the story telling. If it had been longer and still ended how it did, that might have been acceptable, but by doing this with a story that doesn’t have an ending, it could make the writer look lazy.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a short story that opens upon a series of mysteries for the reader to pursue. The characters are interesting and the reader wonders just what is the attraction and can a successful end be accomplished. There is a cliffhanger somewhat when a murder/homicide is introduced into the plot, and there is the simmering romantic interest that will need to be be taken into consideration.
Book one of Rebel Minds. Aria meets Jamison. She is puzzled by him, yet attracted. This is a dystropian story, but doesn't overly stress that background.
I loved this book. C. B. Stone has a smooth way of putting words to print. I also loved the multiple POVs. There is no guessing what the other person is thinking as the story flows from one POV to the other without going backwards. Each character has a unique ability whether it be reading minds, telekinesis or blocking others, etc. The only problem is the Gov wants to find them and get rid of them. How do they hide or run from the Gov undetected? Well, I'm on to book two to find out!
