Alone and desperately trying to escape his past, Tristan continues to flee the life he left behind in the fickle hope that he will find a safe haven, but perhaps escape and safety isn’t that easy to find …

The second book in the popular supernatural series Blue River Chronicles; The Change continues the chronicle of Tristan as he seeks a place to belong, a place where he can learn to accept and control what it means to be a werewolf half-breed, and he hopes to find a refuge in a sleepy town in the middle of nowhere. But even sleepy towns have their own mysteries. Tristan finds out that it is not so easy to escape relationships and love, and perhaps Juliet is just the person to show him how he can make a life for himself, but darker forces and dangers always lurk just around the corner and Tristan cannot escape the changes that he will have to face.

Telling myself stories has always been a source of comfort and I first imagined Tristan/River's story at age 11, so when I decided to write my stories down it was natural that Blue River Chronicles would be the first book I attempted.

Language has always been a challenge for me, so I was genuinely surprised when The Rising won a competition and was published. With the beginning of Tristan’s story out in the world, I felt inspired to keep going. In between BRC drafts, I took a break to work on Deep World, a story and characters I hadn’t given much thought to beyond a NaNoWriMo challenge. Writing without a fully planned plot was a new experience for me—a more spontaneous, on-a-whim style. Yet, I quickly grew attached to the characters and have continued to write Deep World by letting the characters guide me, unlike Blue River Chronicles, which I had outlined in full by age 12.

I plan to continue writing both BRC & Deep World as life allows, and I'm deeply thankful to those who share my stories with me.

I am busy working on BRC 3 (and have started on BRC4) So until I am ready to publish the next novel, remember it's River, not Rivers, and never ask Serion to take his boots off the table.

I really enjoyed this book. It's quite different from book one, and I liked that both parts felt like separate books.

In this one we learn a bit more about Tristan and what it means to be a werewolf half breed, however much still needs to be explained and revealed. I like both the romance and the fight scenes. I do however with the author would explain more, which is why I gave it four stars. I also think I like River more than Tristan, but I don't want to give any spoilers. It's both a slow, comfortable story and a fast, suspense filled one as we follow the main character as he deals with his werewolf side, his craving and finding love. It have a bit of information on the supernatural, some romance and fight scenes, which I like the most. I am looking forward to both the next book in this series and the authors other totally different fantasy saga.

The second book in this series of The Blue River Chronicles - The Change is even better than the first.

You follow Tristan as he stumbles on alone. Hungry, dirty and homeless he walks into a small town where suddenly a home and a job is thrust upon him. He goes from being all alone to having friends, and even a love interest. We see Tristan bloom into a more confident, happier person as this town and the people give him stability and security.

But of course, as with all good stories - this can't last.

I will leave it there, as I really don't want to give any spoilers. The story carries you along and you can easily immerse yourself in the world. We get to learn a little bit more about werewolves, and get a few more hints about who Tristan's father is (and the possibly creepy consequences this could mean). The character of Tristan continues to grow and change, and all the new characters introduced into the story are well rounded and likeable, with each their own voice.

The writer continues to astounds with the comprehensive world building and beautiful writing, and I cannot wait for the next installment.

I think my favorite part of this book is when Juliet asks Tristan to climb up to her window and he’s like “isn’t that a bit cliche?” Actually I thought there were a lot more favorite parts, but that was just one of them and I love this book.

I like the first book in the series, but this one is so much better! I really liked how things progressed in the first half of the book, and I was so happy that Tristan finally found a place to belong and I just wanted his life to carry on like that – happy ending!
But then I also enjoyed how things developed in Part Two so now I feel bad that I enjoyed reading it.

And again, like in the last book, I find myself both worried and excited to find out what happens next. I hope book 3 is available as quickly as book 2 was!

ARGGG... THAT ENDING! It was one of those endings where the conflict has been resolved and the character is in a place where things can get better and that's it. The end. You're left fantasizing about situations and possibilities. It's like getting a taste of a juicy sirloin without seeing or devouring it for a long.

Aside from the ending that has left me agonizing over possibilities, the book was well-written. It started out at a bit of a faster pace than the first book before amping up again. Also props to C M Meridian for taking some common things and combining/turning them into something new.

This book shows Tristan after a few months of being on the run. He's been heading north because there's more nature and fewer towns, then he hits the end of the road. Literally. He stops in that town and gets a low-paying job and run-down shack. Paradise! There's even the possibility of a girlfriend. Things are certainly starting to look up for our protagonist. Obviously since Tristian is the main character in a book, things don't stay that way. They get REALLY bad. Oh, what's that? You want to know what horrible things happened and want to know more about why Tristan is different from other werewolves? I'm not telling you! Read the book to find out. ; )
