Pros:
Good rigorous book.
It is good for more advanced look of linear algebra.

Cons:
No visual understanding.
Even in the inner prod. Spaces section.
Not a single picture.
A bit outdated, didn't use quotient spaces for the Jordan form proof.

Every mathematician looks back fondly on their time with this classic. Slight hints of existentialism in the sense that so much is regarded as trivial. Reading Hoffman and Kunze will not give you meaning, but it will show you how to find it.

this book lacks in many ways... it has shown it's age.
I don't like how it lacks visuals...
this book took out all of the beauty and intuition That linear algebra had... I've read multiple linear algebra books and I can say....
this has to be the worst linear algebra book I've ever read.

Great textbook- I wish there were more material on bilinear forms in the very last chapter, but honestly the amount of material that would have to be added could fill several books themselves. Definitely more algebraic in its approach, which I greatly appreciated.

Its a superb book. The treatment of multilinear functions is a nice addition.
